We're not blushing, you are.

Call it the rise of the millennial generation, the increasing recognition of women in design, our craving for optimism wherever we can find it, or the full bloom of rose (and rosé) shades on social media: Pink rooms are here to stay. And VERANDA editors are taking them in stride.
In fact, we've been passionate about pink since our inception in 1987. That time period was in many ways a renaissance for the rosy hue. Thanks to pop culture's influence of movies like Pretty in Pink and Steel Magnolias and television shows like Designing Women and Miami Vice, pink decor and fashion (even for men!) truly made their way into the mainstream.
Three decades later and the pretty color is back and bigger than ever. It was selected by Pantone as its color of the year in 2016 and by Benjamin Moore as its 2020 color of the year—and the rosy shade has been popping up at many of our most favorite travel destinations around the world. (See our collection of best pink hotels for more color inspiration.) It should come as no surprise that pink is so beloved: after all, the color feels right at home in so many gorgeous gardens, making decorating with it a natural way to bring the beauty of the outdoors in. This may explain why pink has long been a preferred pick by British designers, from Sybil Colefax and John Fowler to Veere Greeney and Ben Pentreath, for English country homes.
If the color's recent accolades prove anything, it's the power of pink to exhibit strength as much as beauty. In fact, as our color preferences have been shifting to favor warmer paint colors and cozy neutral shades, we're starting to favor earthier pinks, like terra cotta, peach, and even salmon. (Psst: we're predicting those shades will be among the biggest color trends for 2022!)
Check out the 21 loveliest pink rooms from the VERANDA archives to find the shade that makes you blush. Chances are, your dullest room will be in the pink in no time.

35 stylish rooms for girls in pink
Stylish children's bedroom in pink and silver
Pink is one of the most fashionable trends that took root in the early twentieth century. In fact, the fashion for it dates back to the distant 1900s. Today, pink is an indispensable attribute of any girl or girl at the most tender age.
A pink bedroom is an eternal and favorite classic that will catch admiring and envious glances. We offer a lot of ideas: how to seamlessly integrate a classic pink bedroom into the interior of a modern home. nine0003
Young girls spend most of their time within the four walls of their room: doing their homework, chatting on the phone with their girlfriends, or just dreaming about the future. Fairytale and fashionable accents will help inspire the occupant of the bedroom to creative impulses and will maintain an upbeat playful mood.
This can be achieved by softly incorporating pink tones into the interior of the room, without putting too much emphasis on them.

Of course, introducing Disney motifs into the interior is quite problematic, but the desired effect can be achieved with the help of photo wallpapers, bed linen and other accessories.

Pink children's room for girls
A cozy pink children's room is the dream of almost every little princess or romantic teenage girl. Why not make your wish come true? With the help of various shades of pink in combination with white, beige, yellow, green, light lilac and other colors, you can create a beautiful comfortable interior that contributes to the development of tenderness, sophistication and good manners in your daughter. nine0003
The effect of color on a child
For a girl, a pink room will become a place of relaxation, quiet play, creative work and thoughtful study. Color is a symbol of calmness, maternal love and optimism, its influence makes the child feel absolute comfort and security.
In many kindergartens, teachers hang soft coral curtains in bedrooms and playrooms to make it easier for children to calm down and feel at home. nine0003
Design options for little ones
There are three approaches to decorating girls' rooms in pink:
Morning daydreams
At a young age, girls have the opportunity to feel what it means to be a fairy or a fairy be as gentle as possible.
Based on a combination of pastel colors: cream, light pink, lilac, beige. As contrasting colors they take: coral, muted burgundy, light lilac. The room is decorated with dazzling white, almost weightless organza fabrics, a canopy over the bed, as well as many exquisite decorative elements: white photo frames, coral pillows, a lot of fluffy toys. The main goal is to create an atmosphere of a fairy-tale kingdom. nine0003 The combination of colors makes the room visually more spacious
Little lady
A pink bedroom for a young lady brought up by strict rules should be a little conservative. More saturated colors than in the first variant are acceptable. The intensity of the palette is offset by strict but high-quality light wood furniture.
If pink is the main color on the walls, choose extremely delicate shades. You can make bright accents with the help of various interior items (furniture, curtains, paintings, vases with flowers, toys, books), colorful wall ornaments, patterned windows. And, on the contrary, if you want to use rich pink elements, choose muted or neutral tones as the basis for the design - white, cream, light lilac. nine0003
Bright shades can only be used in spots
Light avant-garde
It is recommended to do repairs in such a way that bright, revitalizing elements can be easily introduced as the child grows. The nursery in pink has become boring for the baby, but the opportunity to make cardinal updates is not expected in the near future? Arrange the upgrade in an informal style.
Was the original design soft and calm? Add bright pink curtains, dark lilac or deep purple pillows, bedspreads to the interior. nine0003
Children love change, especially when they lead it - suggest that your daughter choose some bright decorative items (vases, mirrors, picture frames, flower pots, bookshelves, ottomans). So from an early age you teach the baby to create home comfort.
Pink in a teenager girl's room
A bedroom in light pink tones will visually expand the space and make it more spacious. Wall decoration in the color of a tea rose or a choice of wallpaper in white and pink stripes, a multi-tiered ceiling with smooth outlines, a beige rug - this is one of the options for a beautiful nursery interior. nine0003
A room for a teenage girl should not be decorated in sweet vanilla, it is best to dilute it with additional shades of cream, brown, light green or even gray. It is these combinations that will help create a modern and stylish design for a growing daughter.

6 nuances of color application
Proper use of pink will help to achieve the desired effect in the nursery. nine0003
- The color is rich in shades: most of them belong to a warm palette, but if there are blotches of lilac, violet or blue, then these are already cold tones (magenta, raspberry, fuchsia, lavender). In a room where there is not enough sunlight, it is better to use warm variations, and vice versa.
- For a newborn baby, pastel colors are suitable in the interior, in the bedroom of a girl of 3-10 years, more saturated shades of pink, but not too bright, are appropriate. At the same time, it is recommended to dilute it with other colors (yellow, green, blue). For older children, you can choose deeper and more contrasting combinations, for example, with brown or black. nine0199
- Intense pink is characterized by a visual increase in space, the same is manifested in the subject use (wardrobe, rug, curtains). Color does not weigh down, but visually brings objects closer. Because of this effect, on walls or furniture in a small or narrow space, it is better to use its light colors in combination with white.
- Regardless of the depth and brightness of the selected shade, it should not fill the entire room. Light pink is recommended to use 50/50, while saturated colors of fuchsia or magenta are best diluted in a ratio of 1:4. Otherwise, the beneficial effect of color on the mental and emotional state of the child will no longer be so beneficial. nine0199
- Do not forget about lighting, in addition to natural and basic lighting, the room should have additional light sources: a night lamp on the bedside table and a table lamp on the desktop.
- For little girls, plain furniture can be diluted with plot stickers (floral ornaments, animals, birds, fairies).
