In the Good Housekeeping Institute Kitchen Appliances and Innovation Lab, we've tested about 60 toaster ovens in the past 10 years.

A well-performing toaster oven should be able to toast multiple slices of bread evenly. For our most recent test of more than 20 toaster ovens, we toasted more than 500 slices of bread to evaluate whether a toaster oven cooked evenly.

For toaster ovens with air fryer functions, we test how quickly and evenly they crisp up chicken wings and frozen French fries. We also evaluate toaster ovens based on their design quality, user manuals, control panels, ease of use, number of rack positions, interior visibility, audible alert and cleanability.

What to look for when shopping for a toaster oven

✔️ Space: Consider how much room you have as well as what you want to use the oven for. Toaster ovens and microwaves can be used interchangeably for kitchen tasks like reheating leftovers or melting butter and both can live on your countertop as a fixture of your kitchen.

2. 2 Setup
WARNING
Improper installation, adjustment, modification, service, or maintenance can result in property damage, personal injury, or death. nine0181 2.2.1 Handling

• Use suitable means to move the device;
  - For small items, use two people
  - For large items, use a forklift, pallet truck, etc. (forks must pass completely under the pallet).

2.2.2 Unpacking

• Check the unit for damage before and after unpacking. If the device is damaged, contact the distributor and manufacturer. nine0006
• If any item is physically damaged, provide details to the shipping company and shipping agent within seven (7) days of receipt. After this period, no claims will be accepted or processed.
• Unit shipped fully assembled
• Remove all protective plastic film, tapes, ties and seals before installation and operation.
• Remove any remaining residue from the inside/outside of the device using a clean d. amp cloth washed with warm soapy water

2.2.3 Location

• Select a location that is well ventilated and provides access for future maintenance.
• Place the machine on a level, stable work surface that can support its weight.
• Do not install the unit in:
  - Wet areas
  - Near sources of heat and/or steam
  - Near flammable substances
• Provide an air gap between the device and other objects or surfaces. For normal use, a minimum clearance of 100mm is recommended on all sides (If the unit is near any heat sensitive material, we recommend leaving extra space)

• Please check your national and local codes to ensure that your device is properly located.

2.2.4 Disposal

• At the end of the device's life, make sure that it is disposed of and the components are properly disposed of. nine0006
• The applicable environmental laws in the state/country of use must be observed.
• Doors must be removed before disposal (if applicable).
• Disconnect the power cable before disposal.
• For more information on recycling this product, please contact your local dealer/agent or your local waste disposal authority.

Electrical connection

WARNING
This device must be installed in accordance with AS/NZS 60335.1.
Some procedures in this manual require disconnecting and disconnecting power to the equipment. Turn off the power at the outlet and disconnect the power supply indicated on the plug body. If an outlet is not available, turn off the equipment using the isolator or circuit breaker in the distribution board.
Attach yellow WARNING - DO NOT USE label. tag. This should be done where necessary, unless otherwise specified in the procedures. MALFUNCTION MAY RESULT IN ELECTRIC SHOCK. nine0181 Single phase units 1Ø + N + E:

- Optional factory plug available (W.CVS.PL32)

Field connection:

• Power supply must match the nameplate data.
• Make sure the machine is connected to the correct power supply.
• Shutdown must be provided in the fixed wiring in accordance with the wiring regulations.

Notes:

• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. Please contact Stoddart for replacement parts and we will advise you on how to do this to avoid the danger of electric shock.
• The power cord must be dry and/or insulated from moisture or water. nine0179 4.1 Operating Instructions
  After setting up the equipment, the following steps must be followed to set the timer and temperature: When this unit is turned on for the first time, the display will show the preset factory settings.
  Control panel 4.1.1

  Tape speed "Time":

  • The time is adjusted by the two top buttons. The display shows the set time as (MMSS)
  • To change the time settings, press and hold the time buttons for at least 2 seconds to adjust them in 30 second increments. For
    finer adjustment press and release to adjust in 5 second increments
  • The residence time in the chamber is determined from the moment the product enters the chamber until the moment it exits the chamber.

  Top/Bottom elements:

  • The top and bottom elements are controlled by the top and bottom buttons. The display will show numbers from 0 to 99, which indicates the percentage (%) value of the effective power supplied to each element. For example: If the top element is set to 99%, and the bottom element is set to 50%, then the top element will have about twice as much energy as the bottom element.
  • Press the top or bottom button to change the item's settings. Each press will move the number by 1

  Temperature "Temp":

  • The temperature is controlled by the temperature buttons. The display will show numbers from 50 to 350, this is °C.
  • To change the temperature settings, press the temperature buttons. The temperature can be set between 50°C and 350°C in 5°C increments. The display will show the new adjusted oven temperature after about 10 seconds. nine0006

  Remarks :

  • If the temperature setting is higher than the percentage of element tages can reach, then the elements will pulsate at the % setting of the top and bottom element and the unit will become a radiant cooker. In most cases, this will lead to less stable results.
  • For example, Temp is set to 350°C, top element is set to 80% and bottom element is set to 50%. The energy supplied to the elements would not be enough to reach a temperature of 350°C. This will cause the top element to pulse at exactly 80% and the bottom element at exactly 50%. nine0006
  • It is not recommended to start the unit at 350°C.

  4.1.2 Operation settings

  1. Turn on the device with the "Power Switch".
  2. Adjust the speed of the "Time" tape to the desired speed.
  3. Set the Top element to 90%
  4. Set the Bottom element to 99%.
  5. Set "Temperature" to 250°C.
  6. Place food on conveyor
  7. Adjust as needed: increase/decrease conveyor Time, Top element and Bottom element and/or Temperature. Repeat this process until the desired results are achieved. nine0006
  8. Once satisfied with the results, record the settings for future reference (refer to our Recipe Guide for ideas and basic settings).
  9. Repeat this process for different products.

  Notes:

  • After 60 seconds, the settings will be stored in the control memory. The device will now display these settings on startup.
  • It is recommended to synchronize the belt speed from the moment the product starts to enter the oven to the moment it starts to exit. This is the time it takes for the ribbon to pass through the oven. nine0006

  4.1.3 Crossed airflow/ventilation

  • For best results, there should be no crossflow/ventilation (external fans should not be directed towards the unit). This affects the air curtain at the inlet and outlet of the kiln chamber, causing temperature instability in the unit.
  • Adjust the height of the oven chamber inlet and outlet guard to a minimum height above the food to minimize external airflow into the appliance. nine0006
  • Do not place anything under the unit that could block the airflow. For example; Gn Pans, trays, pizza trays, cardboard, etc.

  4.1.4 Turn off the device

  • Do not unplug the device from the mains for at least 30 minutes after turning off the device. The fan is powered by an internal thermostat that keeps the internal components cool and helps to remove excess heat from the oven elements and chamber.

  Cleaning and maintenance

  5.1 Cleaning
  5.1.1 Cleaning schedule

  • Daily cleaning of the oven conveyor, crumb tray and external surfaces is required. This will help maintain and extend the efficiency of your oven.
  • The unit must be cleaned at the end of each working day.

  5.1.2 Required materials

  • Stainless steel cleaner
  • Non-abrasive cleaning pad
  • Clean disinfected fabric
  • Paper towel
  • Capacity with warm water
  • nylon brush
  • Corresponding PPE (personal protective equipment)

  5.1.3 General information

  • Cleaning is recommended for health and safety, as well as safety, as well as also security, as well to extend the life of the device.
  • DO NOT use abrasive sponges or cleaners on stainless steel or any other metal parts of the machine. nine0006
  • DO NOT use industrial chemical cleaners, flammable cleaners, alkali-based cleaners or bleaches, or bleaches, as many of these can damage the metals and plastics used in this product.
  • DO NOT remove screws and/or panels for cleaning (unless otherwise noted).
  • This device is NOT waterproof, DO NOT use a hose, DO NOT pour water directly on the device, DO NOT immerse in water

  5.1.4 Corrosion protection

  • Stainless steel exhibits good resistance to corrosion, however stainless steel can rust and/or corrode if not properly maintained.
  • Any signs of light rust and/or corrosion should be washed thoroughly with warm soapy water and dried as soon as possible.
  • NEVER use abrasive sponges or cleaning agents for cleaning.
  • During cleaning, all metal surfaces should be inspected for damage, abrasions or scratches, as these may cause rust and further damage to the product. nine0006
  • Light rust and/or corrosion can be removed with a commercially available cleaner containing citric/oxalic/nitric/phosphoric acid. DO NOT use cleaners with chlorides or other harsh chemicals as this may cause corrosion. After treatment, wash with warm (not hot) soapy water and dry thoroughly
  • Wipe surfaces dry thoroughly after cleaning. DO NOT allow the device to come into contact with water. Check crevices and creases for pooling
  • When using, ensure that all liquids and moisture are removed immediately. Food liquids such as fruit and vegetable juices should not be left on the cooking surface.
  • DO NOT leave objects such as cutting boards, rubber mats or bottles on stainless steel.

  5.1.5 Surface treatment

  • To protect the polished surface of stainless steel, it should be wiped with a clean dry soft cloth. A light oil can be applied to improve the surface of stainless steel. Using a clean cloth, apply the oil in the same direction as the grained polish. nine0006
  • Some commercial stainless steel cleaners may leave a residue or film on the metal; this can trap small food particles on the surface, making surfaces unsafe for food.

  IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  Threaded connections may loosen during use. Regular inspection and adjustments should be made as needed.
  WARNING
  This unit is NOT waterproof, DO NOT use a hose. DO NOT pour water directly on the device. DO NOT immerse in water
  IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  Some commercial stainless steel cleaners leave a residue or film on the metal that can trap small food particles, making the surface unsafe for food.
  WARNING
  Wait until the unit has cooled to a safe temperature before cleaning or servicing. Contact with hot surfaces can cause burns and serious injury
  5.1.6 Cleaning Procedure - Conveyor and Crumb Tray

  1. Isolate from Power
  2. Using a high quality nylon brush, remove crumbs and small food items from the conveyor. (Turn on the device to move the conveyor forward, then turn it off)
  3. Wipe with a damp cloth, rinse (do not wet) with clean warm water until all dirt is removed. (Turn on the device to move the conveyor forward, then turn off)
  4. Empty and clean the crumb tray. This needs to be done on a regular basis

  5.1.7 Cleaning Procedure - External Surfaces

  1. Isolate from Power Source
  2. Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), apply Stainless Steel Cleaner with cleaning pad to external surfaces.
  3. Wipe off burnt dirt with a cleaning cloth in the same direction as the grain polish.
  4. Wipe with a damp cloth, rinse with clean warm water until all stainless steel cleaner and dirt is removed. nine0006
  5. Using a clean, disinfected cloth, thoroughly dry the stainless steel and metal parts. DO NOT allow water to accumulate on the device. Check gaps and creases

  Note. In some regions, especially along the coast, the surface of stainless steel may become discolored or "tea stained". It can be removed with a suitable cleaner containing 10% sodium citrate. Ask your cleaning chemical supplier for the correct brand. nine0065

  Troubleshooting

  • If any malfunctions/problems occur with the device, follow the troubleshooting procedures below.
  • If the troubleshooting procedures do not resolve the problem, contact Stoddart Service.

  Maintenance work must only be performed by qualified service personnel.
