White kitchen with colorful accents
27 Kitchens with Colorful Accents
Decorating + Renovation
Adding a dash of color—a playful red chair or a joyous yellow accent wall—can kick up any kitchen. Take a look at 27 cheerful examples from our archive
By Hannah Martin
From classic white spaces to dramatic black rooms, every kitchen looks livelier and more welcoming with a pop of color. Adding bright and cheery hues is any easy way to update your kitchen without resorting to a full-scale renovation. While you can certainly go for a fully saturated space, we’ve found that even the smallest additions can energize a kitchen. David Netto sheathed one wall of a Southampton, New York, kitchen with vibrant tiles that harmonize with the space’s white cabinetry and island, while Miles Redd used bright cherry-red barstools to energize a black-and-white kitchen in Houston, Texas.
If you want to go bold, consider painting the kitchen’s cabinetry. Designer Muriel Brandolini went for yellow cabinets in her sunny New York kitchen; in Charlotte Ronson and Nate Ruess’s Manhattan apartment, which was designed by Paul Fortune and Gachot Studios, sage kitchen cabinetry sets a calming mood.
In a contemporary interior, try bright red seating or a canary-yellow pendant light to add pizzazz to the eating area. Designer India Mahdavi used a cheery yellow table in a modern kitchen at a Connecticut estate and Annabelle Selldorf used colorful pendant lights and a red banquette to break up the sleek lines in a Manhattan townhouse’s kitchen. In a more traditional space, consider dining chairs upholstered in a bright fabric, a coat of bold paint on the base of an island, or perhaps a jewel-tone banquette in the breakfast nook. Color is also a great way to highlight architectural elements such as shutters and wood paneling—or take a cue from Miles Redd and give the floor a vibrant coat of paint.
If you’re ready to give your kitchen a colorful new style, take a look at these 27 kitchens from the Architectural Digest archives that inject color in all the right places. You’re sure to find just the right accent to cheer up your space.

You need to cook in a good mood - such food brings maximum benefit. A kitchen with a bright accent can awaken a chef in any hostess. Scroll through the photos selected by the Dekorin.me project. You will see how you can refresh the bored interior. A few bright strokes - and now the kitchen is filled with a new mood, and routine cooking is not a burden. Ready to create designer (and culinary!) masterpieces? Then let's see how it's done.
Kitchen with a bright accent: design rules
Looking through the photos, you might get the impression that everything is simple. A bright vase, a curtain, a rug on the floor and - you're done! Not really. Emphasis in design must be placed correctly, otherwise there is a risk of making the kitchen colorful, but still faceless.
There is a rule that you can't go wrong with. It can be expressed in the following figures: 60% / 30% / 10%. Let's figure out what's what. In any kitchen there is a color that prevails. It's called main. So it's usually around 60%. To make the interior more expressive, you will need additional colors. They need no more than 30%. The remaining 10% can be used for accents.
Now let's see how it works. In this kitchen, white is the main color, pale blue is the secondary color, and blue was used for accents. In general, the design turned out to be “live” and dynamic.
Let's move on. Here is an interesting solution.
The dominant color is white, with a shade of blue selected as an additional color. Accents are placed with the help of bright orange.
And such an interior will appeal to those who prefer restraint in design. Here the main color is milky.
Notice how well the brown sets it off. Black was chosen as accents (lamps above the dining table).
What can be a bright accent in the kitchen? (With design examples)
A large object in the design, such as a stove, can be a bright accent in the kitchen. She, as a descendant of the stove, symbolizes the hearth, and therefore is the center of gravity of this room. Take a look at photo examples.
But the heart of the kitchen is the dining table. It can also be distinguished.
Interiors with bright chairs look non-trivial.
How do you like it?
You can also focus on small elements. Arrange on the shelves colored jars-flasks with spices. Choose textiles made in the same color scheme (dishtowels, potholders, napkins, tablecloths).
Curtains are a bright accent here.
By the way, it should be noted that monochrome interiors are no worse. There are many beautiful kitchens made in the same color palette. It's about something else. How to bring novelty, if the existing design is a bit tired.
What bright colors are chosen for accents in the kitchen (with photo examples)
We have decided on the quantity, now let's talk about quality. More precisely, about choosing colors for accents in kitchen design. Here are some photos. You see, there can be several bright spots and, of different colors.
Use the color combination wheel to find the right accents. Everything is simple here. If the interior is made in warm colors, then the adjacent colors will be additional colors. In order to make the design brighter in cold colors, you need to look at the shades opposite.
For bright accent spots often choose:
- red;
- black;
- metallic;
- orange;
- bright lemon;
- turquoise;
- ochre;
- light green.
And here are examples where deep blue, rich olive, rotten cherry color is taken as accents.
White kitchen - what color to choose for bright accents?
Bright kitchens look amazing. However, the design can look frozen and boring. But the white interior of the kitchen with bright accents is able to charge with positive for the whole day. We drank coffee in the morning and flew off to work in a good mood.
The kitchen has long ceased to be just a place to prepare food. That is why design is given a lot of attention here. The photo below shows a white kitchen with bright accents. Well, how not to fall in love with this magic of color combinations?
Red as bright accents in a white kitchen design
Red is bold and ambitious. It must be used in design dosed. And for accents - he is what you need. Add splashes of red to the interior of a white kitchen if you think for a long time before deciding on something drastic. In such a kitchen, you will be able to quickly and rationally assess various situations that require immediate action from you. Here's what the design looks like with red strokes on a white background. How do you like this kitchen?
Take a closer look at these interiors if you feel like a squeezed lemon in the evenings. A cup of tea, drunk in such an environment, will not let you completely unravel. And, on the contrary, it will help to gather strength, concentrate.
Bright orange accents in a white kitchen (with photo)
Orange is a discreet red. This color has a businesslike and persistent character, but at the same time it radiates a lot of solar energy and positive. See how orange accents look in a pure white kitchen. The mood rises from one viewing of the photo. Imagine the charge of vivacity that you get by having breakfast in such a kitchen.
Orange has no "contraindications". However, not everyone is able to accept its directness and naturalness. Although this is a matter of taste.
Vibrant turquoise accents in a dazzling white kitchen
Vibrant navy blue combines the natural power of green with the serenity of blue, a great choice for accents in a white kitchen. Turquoise is liked by creative people who are full of ideas. Here's a look at some examples. The color of the sea wave helps to make the sterile interior of the bright kitchen warm and homely.
Dark blue - can it be used as an accent color in a white kitchen? (+ photo)
Blue - ideal for those who are too impulsive by nature. This color is able to calm the most hyperactive person. If you want to learn how to control your emotions, add splashes of blue in a white kitchen. Over time, you will notice how much easier it will become for you to restrain manifestations of temperament. Kitchens with blue accents create a sense of calmness and tranquility. Here, take a look at the photo examples of the design.
Beige kitchen with bright accents
Beige is often chosen for decorating small kitchens. It goes well with bright accents.
Beige is a wonderfully warm and soft color. And he is able to visually expand the space.
And how many shades it has!
- light sand;
- cream;
- champagne;
- ecru;
- coffee with milk;
- vanilla;
- creamy;
- yellow-beige.
This color is versatile and goes well with any color scheme. Therefore, any bright tone can be used to place accents. Here, for example, take a look at how a lime-colored accent wall harmoniously fit into a light beige kitchen.
Bright red touches make this small kitchen stand out.
What bright accents to dilute the gray kitchen?
Many underestimate the gray color, consider it boring and even gloomy. But in vain. See how stylish gray kitchens look. Due to bright accents, the design turns out to be trendy.
Gray has an amazing ability to bring out other colors. Even rough massive kitchen furniture in light gray colors does not look heavy, but somehow easy.
Any bright spots can be used to create bright accents in a gray kitchen. It can be:
- purple;
- coral;
- lemon;
- terracotta.
Perfectly harmonizes with gray chrome fittings, lamps in bronze.
Do you need bright accents in the interior of a black kitchen?
Not everyone will decide to design a kitchen in dark colors. Black is a deep color with powerful energy. It must be used carefully. From luxury to gloom is just one step. Make a mistake in the design, and even bright accents will not correct the situation.
If the kitchen area is small, then it is better to refuse a black set. It will visually hide square meters, it can create an oppressive feeling.
But you can decorate the kitchen in black and white colors. In addition, a black kitchen with bright accents will sparkle in a new way.
Black can be diluted with natural shades. It is brown, herbal, yellow, light green.
How do you like this design?
You can get more information on the design of the kitchen from this article from Decorin specialists. Here the question is sorted out, what color to choose the facade.
What is your favorite kitchen with a bright accent? If the soul "lay down" to one of the designs, take it into service. Think about what touches to the interior of your kitchen will help it open up from a new side. Dekorin.me wishes you inspiration and successful design solutions!

Why such kitchens are good
Pluses of a white kitchen:
- White color is associated with cleanliness, sterility, hygiene, and this is especially important in the place where we cook, eat and store food.
- Another advantage is its versatility: the fronts of this color can be easily “made friends” with a variety of finishes. And since we don’t change headsets and equipment very often, solutions in white are also good because they don’t irritate and can’t get bored quickly.
- White surfaces will not "eat up" the space and will be the perfect backdrop for the most daring and unusual design ideas.
- White kitchens have a laconic, "European" appearance: in the era of conscious consumption and rejection of the superfluous, such a solution is quite in the spirit of modern trends.
Choosing the right shade of white
The first and most obvious option is to make the space monochrome. This means that white will be everywhere: in the decoration of walls and floors, in an array of headsets and countertops. So that everything does not turn into a single gamut, you need to choose the right textures. The highlight will be the difference in materials. For example, laminate or tile - on the floor, wood or gloss - in the headset, stone - in the countertop.
What is important to consider? Hue. Yes, it doesn't have to be the same titanium white. Like any other color, white has warm and cold tones. And sunlight will help you choose the right one.
- If the kitchen faces the sunny side, you can safely take cold shades, with a gray undertone, an admixture of blue or green. Natural light will soften them.
- If the sun is not enough, it is better to choose warm colors: champagne, ivory, with a drop of warm ocher. Then the room will not seem dull and cold.
The second version of the palette - with the addition of color. It is believed that white is combined with the whole gamut. Therefore, bet on your favorite colors: calmer pastels or bright ones. Both of them, when properly distributed, will look great.
If you use three colors, follow the 60-30-10 rule. In this case, 60% of the space should be occupied by the lightest color, 30% by the selected additional, and 10% by accents. It can be accessories, textiles and decor.
Kitchen in white: styles
White kitchens can be used in almost any interior style. They will give the room the effect of cleanliness.
Classic
White - the perfect base for a classic kitchen interior. A kitchen in any of the classic options is furniture with carved details, a marble countertop, a crystal chandelier, a massive table set made of precious wood and an elaborate decor. The main colors are white interspersed with beige or brown.
This is what is found in every classic kitchen: stucco, carved facades, white with gold in decoration. The classic is suitable for decorating spacious rooms.
In a small kitchen, classic furniture and decor look too massive.
In the interior, the effect of old age is welcomed, but not vintage, but noble. To emphasize the massiveness of the kitchen set, the hood is closed with a special decorated niche.
In the center of the kitchen is a large dining table and chairs with gold fittings and carvings. Above the table is a bright crystal chandelier with a silver or bronze decor. Textiles exclusively from heavy expensive fabrics: brocade, satin, velvet.
Scandinavia
Scandinavian-style kitchen is the complete opposite of the classic. She is simple, modest and cozy. But its main task is versatility. White is the main color for the Scandinavian interior. In the Scandinavian kitchen, everything is white: walls, floor, ceiling, headset, textiles. In textiles, an ornament is welcome, and in accessories - a tree. Tabletop, dining group - from a tree of light species.
Provence
Rustic aesthetics highlighted in white. The Provencal kitchen is white aged furniture, light walls and textiles with a floral pattern. Pastel shades dilute the white kitchen: pink, lavender, mint.
Ethnic
There are many ethnic styles. This is the east, and Africa, and the Mediterranean. And in each of them, the white color is the base for a bright folk decor. There is no place for plastic in ethnics: only natural materials are used in the decoration.
Against the background of a white kitchen cabinet, colored walls and bright paintings look great. There are a lot of fabrics in ethnic cuisine - curtains, tablecloths, napkins, furniture covers, pillows. Dining room furniture choose not massive, but light wicker furniture.
Minimalism
Minimalism is ideal in black and white kitchen design. Black walls and white furniture, and vice versa, white walls and a black headset, look strict and elegant. No extra decor, delicate textiles and artsy bright details.
Steel and glass complement the monochromatic interior. Steel or chrome-plated appliances, a table with a glass top, metal chairs - all these are kitchen elements in the style of minimalism.
Art Deco
Kitchen with white cabinets in this style usually has smooth fronts. Black and white combinations are common: it can be black tiles on the floor and backsplash, or a dark countertop.
Loft
Loft is not necessarily red brick. Brickwork can also be decorated in white. Add to this an aged furniture set, steel appliances and unusual fixtures. Underline all communications and ventilation pipes. Remove curtains, tablecloths and all kinds of napkins.
Modern
The combination of white walls and prominent furniture is common here. Widespread cabinets with curved facades. In general, the design is concise, functional; smooth glossy surfaces are preferable to matte ones. An apron can serve as an accent element.
Hi-tech
Monochrome walls, smart appliances and white glossy kitchen in a modern style - this is high-tech. Technological style is ideal for black and white interiors: white headset and black walls.
Modern and post-modern furniture look equally good in a hi-tech kitchen. This combination of styles is called fusion. To dilute the monochromatic interior, the kitchen is decorated with bright details - contrasting apron, graphic images, photographs on the wall.
Kitchen wall color with white cabinetry
Consider wall finishes before decorating. Wallpaper on the kitchen is not the best option. In the work area, they are definitely not needed. But in the dining part, if desired, you can glue vinyl or non-woven fabrics. But the best option for finishing is painting and tile. If paint, then washable. And if it is a tile, then a glossy tile or imitation of natural materials is more suitable for the kitchen.
White has no color combination restrictions. Combine it with whatever you want. The white base reveals every color that is adjacent to it. When choosing the color of the walls to the white garniture, proceed from the dimensions of the room, the level of illumination and the side on which the windows go.
If the kitchen windows face north or west and create cold natural light, then make the walls for the white kitchen as warm as possible. Beige, light brown, yellow, green and even orange will fit perfectly into a white kitchen. For south-facing kitchens with bright natural light, go cold. The white headset looks great against the background of cold shades of gray, blue, purple.
Monochrome in the kitchen is always active. Such a room looks elegant, but cozy. Pick up a cream or beige wall color for a snow-white garniture. And if you need to define clear zoning boundaries in the kitchen, make multi-colored walls for different zones and reinforce the effect with transient lighting.
The walls in the kitchen are not only painted, but also decorated. Decorate them with paintings, mosaics or an improvised fresco. This technique works great in small rooms when you need to expand the space. Large paintings and patterns all over the wall create perspective and add volume...
Black
If the kitchen is white gloss, make black walls. This is such a simple and winning combination that the end result is simply amazing. White furniture reveals deep shades of black. Pick up a countertop that is also light, but with an apron you can take risks - both dark and bright colors look great against the background of white furniture and black walls.
Gray
Gray and white are practically twins. Whatever shade you choose in gray and white, they perfectly follow each other. In the kitchen, this combination works even better: the light multiplies and the space increases. Gray dilutes the sterility of white, but does not take it to the bright side. Such a combination is especially good in kitchens with southern windows and bright sun.
Brown
Brown and its lighter variations (beige, sand, cream) go well with white. In such a kitchen it is warm and homey. But at the same time, a pleasant feeling of purity and rigor is created.
3d green
3d walls in a white kitchen are good in both bright and pale interpretations. The white-green kitchen is the embodiment of an eco-concept, especially in combination with a wooden dining group and accessories. Decorate such a room with living plants, and get a kitchen garden.
Red
Red, burgundy, burgundy - very bright shades for walls. But the white one muffles and balances them. Red walls are for experimenters, but if they are properly arranged, you get a bright and unusual interior.
The design of the floor and ceiling must be considered along with the wall decoration. Make the floor for a white kitchen light or contrast. The ideal material is porcelain stoneware: it is durable and does not slip as much as tile. For the kitchen, it is better to choose textured models. So the anti-slip effect will only increase. If the kitchen is large, combine floor coverings: lay tiles in the work area, and parquet board or laminate in the dining area.
Nothing special needs to be done with the ceiling. For a white kitchen, a white ceiling is suitable. Drywall for painting, tension or whitewash - does not matter. The main thing is that it be strong and even.
Materials and textiles
White color is much less complex and capricious in care than is commonly believed, if you choose the right materials. Remember that the kitchen is all about grease and potential stains from wine, juice, beets or carrots. Choose coatings that are not afraid of moisture and are easily washed with a regular sponge.
Ceiling
Everything is very simple here. The best solution is a plain matte finish. It can be both paint and drywall, and a suspension system. The main thing is to do without gloss and multi-level structures. Both look at least out of date.
However, if the space allows, you can decorate the top with stucco, wooden beams and other decorative elements - it all depends on the style. This also includes color options for the ceiling. But in this case, you need to represent the design you are striving for. Otherwise, there is a risk of getting a very controversial result.
Floor
Since this is a room with a very aggressive environment, the floor covering must be highly durable. Porcelain tile is a good choice as it can also withstand impact, tile and laminate. Linoleum is also suitable. Modern models look very dignified even in neoclassical interiors.
Windows
A window is just as important a kitchen design element as a ceiling or set. The choice of a properly designed window in this case depends not so much on the color scheme in the room, but on the view outside the window and the design style in your apartment.
Wallcoverings and walls
In white kitchens, walls rarely feature any contrasting or bold color schemes. As a rule, the color design in this case is used only in the apron strip or dining area.
The walls of a modern white kitchen are most often decorated with white plaster or paint with protection against moisture and dirt. If you want to see wallpaper in the design of a white kitchen, then you should focus on soft and pastel colors: pearl, beige, yellow, light wheaten, light aquamarine (while some experts advise painting only one wall, and leave the rest in white). ).
Curtains
In order not to change white curtains every month, give up lush, voluminous and flying curtains. Choose roller blinds, Roman blinds, or at least shortened models that do not collect dust and dirt so much. Keep in mind that natural fabrics are more environmentally friendly, but blended with synthetic fibers last longer with constant washing.
How to choose a countertop
The kitchen countertop is usually chosen separately from the set - from a different material and with a different texture. It does not have to be in tune - on the contrary, it is a very expressive tool for creating accents. Just remember about practicality - it should be a durable, wear-resistant material with a smooth surface that is easy to clean.
With wood top
Wood, a practical choice for years to come, resists transformation and adds a finished look to the kitchen. Will last over 10 years. Looks noble.
White top
This is the most popular choice for white kitchens. The snow-white view of the entire room is mesmerizing and makes it light. In this case, colored inserts are used against a white background.
With black top
The black top on a white background makes the space look unique.
With gray
This solution looks concise and serious. You can beat it in different ways, create a sterile look, or, using special decorations, solemn.
Stone effect
Natural or artificial materials are used. They fit perfectly into the white set, adding a touch of luxury to the overall interior.
What is suitable for an apron
The most effective and relevant options for facing an apron in a white kitchen will be:
- marble slabs or large-format porcelain tiles imitating the pattern of natural stone;
- glass panels;
- square white tile combined with dark grout is the perfect option for a Scandinavian style kitchen space;
- solid sheets of copper, gold, metallic shades.
White apron
Perfectly fits into an already white space. In this case, a wooden tabletop will go into action.
Light with a pattern
Will dilute the cooking area with delicate colors.
Black Skinals
Will add severity and clarity. Used for loft, high-tech, art deco styles.
Vibrant colors
Make the room look summery, playful and saturated.
Wooden
Enliven a featureless kitchen, visually expand the space. Therefore, it is used for small rooms.
Red
A bright accent in a lifeless white kitchen.
Mosaic
Mosaic tile with white grout is a classic option for a white suite. A variety of shades are used - from black to light green.
Gray apron
Democratic color that goes well with any materials.
Furniture and Appliances
There are two classic ways to beautifully fill a white kitchen - to withstand a light monochrome interior or use contrasts. In the first case, choose furniture and appliances in slightly different shades of white. In the second - use contrasting dark or bright colored materials.
Dining area
If you're looking for a full-fledged dining table, massive wood looks spectacular in contrast to the airy white kitchen. Or vice versa - a small openwork round table, in the best traditions of French coffee houses. Or maybe a bar counter is enough for you, which can be combined with a set and complemented with spectacular high stools?
Work area
Before buying a set for your work area, decide on the layout. If you need a basic minimum in a small kitchen, a linear kit will do, if vice versa, an island or U-shaped one. Corner kitchens are good and versatile - they are suitable for zoning and allow you to use the space completely due to the corner module.
Glossy or matt kitchen set
White glossy kitchen set looks stylish, reflects light, creates a mirror effect. Such a facade requires frequent polishing with a soft cloth, and it is better to select fittings so that the hand does not come into contact with the surface of the facade.
The matt white kitchen set is more practical in the interior, hand marks are not so noticeable, but the facade still needs to be wiped.
In the photo, a linear matt set in white is combined with a contrasting worktop and a brick-like kitchen backsplash.
Matte and glossy surfaces can be combined in one set, eg the bottom can be matt and the top glossy.
Features of choosing the shape of the suite
The choice of kitchen configuration with white facades depends on the size of the room and layout.
- Linear (straight) set can be of small length (up to 2.5 m) and fit compactly in a small kitchen. Everything is on the same line: the sink, the stove, the work surface. Long sets (up to 4 m) are placed along the wall of the spacious kitchen and make room for a large dining table and lounge area.
- White corner kitchen sets are practical organizers of space, look versatile in any style, are distinguished by the presence of deep side cabinets and a sink or stove in the corner. The corner suite is complemented by a bar counter if it is a small kitchen, or an island part if it is a spacious room.
- U-shaped kitchen furniture is placed on three adjacent walls, it is appropriate in a rectangular kitchen of small and large sizes, as well as in a studio apartment. If you choose a U-shaped set, the dining table is located in the living room or a separate dining area. White facades without fittings create a feeling of walls and spaciousness in the room.
- The island set assumes the presence of a table in the center of the room and is appropriate in private and country houses, where the presence of a separate room or area for eating is implied. The kitchen island serves as an additional desktop, which can accommodate a sink, stove, cutting boards and utensils, or serve as a bar counter. The style, texture and shade of the island should match the kitchen set.
Lighting and lighting
White color gives a feeling of lightness and space, so do not skimp on lighting, so as not to lose this advantage. Uniform and comfortable light is provided by spotlights around the perimeter instead of one large chandelier. And pendant lamps are good for zone lighting - for example, above a table or a bar counter.
Don't forget to light up your work surface and stove - just a few small lamps will make cooking in the evening much more convenient. A decorative LED strip is useful for floating ceilings, niches, shelves, cabinets and bar counters.
Adding bright accents
When designing a white kitchen, you should follow the so-called rule of three. It suggests that in creating a certain design, you need to choose three separate colors that will be present in the room. One of these colors is dominant or primary, the other two colors are designed to complement the overall background and dilute the main color.
Below are some great options for accenting white kitchens.
- Natural wood . Wood is considered the most versatile and rich material in the design of a white kitchen. A beautifully matched facade, floor or tabletop made of natural wood soften the eye, create a pleasant contrast and emphasize the winning features of the room.
- Accent wall . As a rule, this is one of the side walls in the kitchen, designed to create a pleasant contrast between the floor, the suite and the furniture. Usually such walls are painted either in some dark, but deep shade or in a very rich and bright color. Often, these walls are decorated with original prints, equipped with shelves, decorated with photo wallpapers, tiles or frescoes.
- Dark accents . The most popular color, which they prefer to dilute the mediocrity of a white kitchen, is black: it creates the brightest, most solid and at the same time simple contrast. The best example of such a kitchen is a white facade against a dark and glossy countertop or black apron.
- Brass and copper in the design of . Experienced homeowners know that white is just great for highlighting metallic elements in decor. They give the room a solid tone, make it more concise and complete. Most often, a maximum of two metals are used in the design of the kitchen. Metal can be present in kitchen utensils, kitchen appliances, fixtures, handles, frames, and coasters.
- Accessories and decorations . If your kitchen renovation is over and you want to refresh it without replacing countertops and fixtures, then you can use the following elements: paintings, wall shelves, colorful coasters, bright towels, unusual baseboards, curtains, prints and wall stickers.
Small white kitchen: how to decorate
White is the best color for decorating a small kitchen. Choose glossy and mirror surfaces, a compact L-shaped suite with a sink or a pull-out cabinet in the corner, a folding or folding table. Use glass, chrome, mirrors and acrylic with hidden hinges and push-to-open system instead of bulky swing cabinets.
How to care for a white kitchen
Many people refuse white when choosing a kitchen, explaining this by the fact that dirt is clearly visible on white, and you will have to spend much more time cleaning. However, in practice it turns out that a white kitchen does not require special care, it is only necessary to remove stains immediately after they appear. Over time, dirt eats into the surface of the facades, and it will not be easy to restore the original appearance.
Clean the white kitchen with a soft microfiber cloth and liquid detergents. For glossy facades, special rags and window cleaners are perfect - they do not leave streaks.
It would be a big mistake to refuse a snow-white kitchen due to its impracticality in favor of a dark-colored kitchen (especially glossy). Judge for yourself which kitchen will require more maintenance? This one:
How to make a white kitchen practical
Here are some tips on how to design a white kitchen to be as easy to clean as possible.
- A matte white kitchen is more sustainable than a glossy one. White kitchen fronts can be glossy, semi-gloss or matte. Which option is more practical? On the one hand, a glossy white kitchen is easier to clean, but at the same time, it also gets more dirty with fingerprints. Matte in this regard requires less attention. If there are children in the house, you often cook and want to keep cleaning to a minimum, then you should choose white facades with a matte finish. However, it is also not worth overestimating the soiledness of a glossy white kitchen. Many users speak of them as the most trouble-free and easy to care for.
- Discard push mechanisms. It is better that the white kitchen has overhead or at least mortise handles. Especially if the facades are glossy.
- Which countertop to choose for a white kitchen? The most popular options are: a white countertop and a countertop in a neutral shade (gray, beige, brown).
Both solutions are good, but in terms of practicality, worktops in natural shades still win. The following photo shows an example of a white kitchen with a gray faux stone countertop.
We love the white kitchens with agglomerate countertops. Firstly, agglomerate tops are very beautiful, secondly, they are indestructible, and thirdly, dirt is not visible on them due to the presence of veins.
But a white kitchen with a black worktop (or in the color of wenge, dark wood), although very effective, is only suitable for those who rarely cook or have cleaning assistants. Unfortunately, even the smallest dust particles, crumbs, water drops, stains and dirt will be doubly noticeable. On dark countertops, even the smallest crumbs and drops of water will catch your eye.
