4 current fashion trends to spruce up your style in 2022

The world of fashion is always changing, hopping from one style to the next within days or weeks, and with so many micro trends floating around the internet, it can be hard to know what new pieces you should incorporate into your wardrobe.

Whether you are an avid trend-watcher or are looking for ways to refresh your closet with some new styles, there are a few key trends we think fashion fans should look out for. Lifestyle expert Kathy Buccio stopped by the 3rd hour of TODAY to share seven outfits inspired by the trends she's loving right now: clogs, cutouts, crossbody bags and Y2K.

Read on to shop some of Buccio's favorite styles, with accessories to boot.

Styling clogs, cutouts and crossbody bags as seen on TODAY

Clog and cowboy boot outfit for women

Dolce Vita Croc Embossed Cowboy Boots

A bonus trend to start: Cowboy boots! Buccio loves these boots that she grabbed from T.J.Maxx and styled them with a chic bodycon dress.

Dolce Vita Closen Clogs

A classic woodgrain design and striking metallic accents meet in this Dolce Vita clog. Coming in at over 40% off (in all three chic colors) it may be hard to resist this trendy footwear. "They’re super cute and really comfortable. I’ve worn them almost every day since they came in," one reviewer wrote.

Universal Thread Magnolia Heels

These sleek clogs feature a memory foam insole and come in three different colors: black, cream and light brown. The brand says the block heel can add some height to your look without making you feel unsteady on your feet.

Target Women's Wide Leg Cropped Jeans

Complete with five pockets, Target's green cropped jeans look as eye-catching and they are practical. Their high-waist fit is designed to provide flattering coverage, which contrasts well with the wide-leg pant legs.

H&M Halterneck Top with Collar

Finish this Y2K-inspired outfit with a ribbed halterneck, available in four colors ranging from a neutral white to pastel pink. The top's V-neck fit and sophisticated collar add maturity and style.

Oyanus Halter Top

This stylish halter top has less of a nostalgic feel to it and is a bit longer than the option above. Tuck it into the wide-leg jeans Buccio picked or into your favorite pair of pants later on in the season.

A New Day Sling Fanny Pack

Fanny packs are more than just functional — they're surprisingly on-trend now. This sleek option comes in several different colors that you can pair with this look (or your own!).

Cutout outfit for women

Ivy Park One-Piece Swimsuit

Beyonce's Ivy Park one-piece swimsuit combines deep colors with funky cutouts to create an eye-catching look. Even though this item is technically a bathing suit, it can also double as a versatile bodysuit when paired with edgy bottoms and a platform boot.

PrettyLittleThing Black Denim Skirt

Take your swimsuit from the beach to brunch with a simple skirt. Buccio picked this black skirt to pair with the one-piece to make it chic enough for casual wear.

PrettyLittleThing Cleated Chunky Chelsea Boot

Finish the look with a pair of booties that you can wear from summer into fall. They're on sale for $31 right now, so you don't have to break the bank to level up your look.

Crossbody outfit for women

Zara Half-Moon Mini Crossbody Bag

Embrace the monochrome look and tap into the "Barbiecore" trend with this bright pink half moon-shaped bag. It features an adjustable and detachable crossbody strap, so you can easily take it from a night out to an errand run in the morning.

Forever 21 Ruched One-Shoulder Midi Dress

Make a statement in this flattering midi dress, which can be worn alone or paired with a blazer to tone down the look. If hot pink isn't your thing, the dress also comes in a flattering royal blue color.

Lillusory Ruched Tank Dress

This tank dress has similar ruched detailing as Buccio's pick but offers a bit more coverage on the shoulders. Plus, the side-tie on the waist gives it an extra-chic look.

Steve Madden Lilah Clear Heels

While Buccio picked these heels to finish the look, you can also wear these neutral shoes with any kind of outfit. They look trendy and the block heel also makes them more comfortable to walk in, according to the brand.

Add extra pops of color with these accessories, chosen by Buccio:

Crossbody outfit for men

Fjallraven Kånken Sling Bag

Buccio puts a more classic spin on the crossbody trend with this sling backpack. Since it is available in five colors, you can pick a shade to match the look she put together or opt for one that suits your current wardrobe.

Urban Outfitters BDG 5” Denim Volley Short

With pockets, an elastic waistband and an adjustable tie closure, these breezy shorts are perfect to spend summer days in. The washed denim exterior gives them the fashionable look of jean shorts, without the tight waist or need for a belt.

H&M Slim Fit Patterned Polo Shirt

With a print bright enough for summer, this polo is an elevated version of a wardrobe staple. Slip your trendy crossbody bag under the shirt's collar for a seamless look.

Y2K outfit for men

Urban Outfitters Standard Cloth Adjustable Cuff Tech Cargo Pant

Cargo pants are in right now — and for good reason. They combine fashion and function and tap into the slightly oversize fit that seems to be popular right now.

Urban Outfitters Manastash Disarmed Tee

If the pants don’t have enough pockets, you’re in luck! Buccio picked this basic tee for the top half of the look, which gets an upgraded feel thanks to the tech-style pocket.

Clogs outfit for teens

Crocs Classic Crush Clog

This durable and dynamic clog option is designed to provide 360-degree comfort, making it a great fit for your summer adventures. Choose from three shades and enhance your Y2K aesthetic with Crocs Jibbitz (charms made to fit into the holes of the shoe) for a fully customized look.

Walmart Jordache Womens Slouchy Overall

Editor's Note: This pick is out of stock, but we found a similar option below.

Buccio's slouchy overalls shows off the rectangle tee she paired with them to create a neutral Y2K look.

Hollister Lightweight Baggy Overalls

Available in medium wash, these lightweight baggy overalls are perfect for your next backyard barbecue or outdoor gathering. Buccio recommends pairing them with Y2K accessories, including Crocs clogs and tinted sunglasses, for the ultimate look.

Urban Outfitters Koto 03.015 Rectangle Tee

To add to the flowy aesthetic, Buccio paired the slouchy overalls with this rectangle tee for your comfort. The shirt is available in three colors — gold, black and tan — and is made from 100 percent responsibly sourced US-grown cotton, according to the brand.

Forever 21 Rimless Rectangle Sunglasses

'Tis the season for rose-colored glasses! Whether you are hopping on the trend for a return to a more playful style or simply enjoy a little color in your life, don't hesitate to accessories your clogs with this Y2K staple.

Cutout outfit for teens

Madden NYC Juniors' Cut Out Ring Detail Crochet Dress

This fun and flirty dress taps into two trends we’re seeing right now: cutouts and crochet. Buccio chose to pair it with a hat that’s equally as trendy to finish off the look.

Steve Madden Echo Sandal

If you want an edgier look, pair the daintier crochet dress with a lug sole sandal. With 1.5-inch platform, chunky buckle closure and a "fisherman" strap design, you better be prepared to make a statement.

Olivia and Kate 2-piece Mommy And Me Printed Bucket Hat Set

Since this hat features both black and white detailing, you can wear it with whichever shade of the dress you choose. It’s also a 2-for-1 deal — it includes one hat for an adult and one for a kid that makes for an adorable coordinated outfit.

Art Nouveau has conditional chronological boundaries: the end of the 1880s - 1914 - the beginning of the First World War, which interrupted the natural development of art in most European countries .

During the modern period, there was a rethinking of old artistic forms and techniques, convergence and merging of various types and genres of art.

• In each country this style has its own name: in the USA - Tiffany, in France - Art Nouveau, in Germany - Art Nouveau, in Austria - Secession style, in England - Modern Style, in Italy - Liberty style, in Spain - modernismo, in the Netherlands - Nieuwe Kunst (new art), in Switzerland - spruce style, in Russia - modern.

• Art Nouveau renounces traditional classical architectural principles - symmetry, order and antique decoration of facades - in favor of natural flowing fluid forms. A curved curved line is the main feature in the decoration of facades and interiors.

• Each Art Nouveau building has an individual architectural image, each is unique in its own way. The division into constructive and decorative elements of the building disappears. Facades turn into living organisms with floral ornaments, fantastic animals or mascarons in the form of female heads. They are the result of the free flight of the artist's imagination. Architecture and fine arts converge, influence and complement each other. A building is a canvas on which even the smallest details are important, the shape of the stair railing, the pattern of doors and windows...

• The architectural and artistic image of the building necessarily takes into account the functional purpose of the building. Modern building materials - reinforced concrete, steel, glass, ceramics, bronze, copper, brick.

• The main colors in modernity are pastel muted shades: tobacco, faded rose, pearl gray, dusty lilac.

• Style is characterized by the principle of the unity of the whole. In Art Nouveau, the building is designed "from the inside out", that is, from the interior to the exterior of the building. The tradition is being revived when the architect designed the building from the facade to the smallest details. Everything - from the fence lattice to window sashes, door handles, railings, furniture, dishes, fabrics, lamps and other components - was decided in one key.

• Building decoration often uses wood and curved wrought iron elements for doors, stairs, balcony railings, and building railings.

• Doors and windows, usually rectangular, often arched. Doors - sometimes the entire wall, sliding, hinged or pivoting with rich floral ornaments. Tape - the entire wall of the window or "shop" - wide, like shop windows.

and European Neo-Gothic: architectural cousins

• Mosaic, enamel, stained glass, brass are favorite techniques used to decorate building interiors and furniture.

• Ancient Egypt, East, Gothic, Russian style — favorite topics for creative rethinking in the modern era. Based on them, architects create romantic, emotionally rich images of buildings using decorative details that give an additional play of light and shadow.

The last big style. Art Deco Museum in Moscow. [Jan. 19th, 2016| 04:58pm ]

Victor

It turns out that the Art Deco Museum has been operating in Moscow for more than a year. I like this art style and of course I immediately went to get acquainted with the museum. It is located in the building of the former Imperial Mint on Luzhnetskaya Embankment.

It was very interesting to see what is there in the exposition. After all, the Art Deco style was reflected in so many different applications - architecture, furniture design, industrial goods, decorative arts - that it was not clear to me how all this abundance was presented in the museum. By the way, in Moscow, in Stalinist architecture, there is a lot of Art Deco style. Well, the Mayakovskaya metro station, so it is generally a standard of style. For some reason, Soviet art critics avoided the term Art Deco and called it "Stalinist neoclassicism".

So, the museum. It turned out that he represents Art Deco only in the arts and crafts. And even then in a very narrow direction - cabinet sculpture. Almost the entire exposition is the author's cabinet figurines of the sculptural genius of Art Deco, the Romanian Frenchman Demeter Chiparus. Strangely, there are no photos of Chiparus on the web. With difficulty, only this one, of poor quality, was found:

Demeter Chiparus (Rom. Dumitru Chipăruș, 1886-1947)

As it turned out, the museum has the largest collection of Chiparus' works in the world. There are works by other masters of cabinet sculpture, also known to lovers of style - Ferdinand Preiss, Bruno Zach, Paul Philipp, Otto Pörzl. There are few other interior products - mirrors, lamps, tables. But still, the main part of the exposition is the author's figurines of Demeter Chiparus. Moscow businessman Mkrtich Okroyan collected this unique collection and organized a museum on its basis.

Art Deco emerged after World War I and shaped a new post-war way of life and behaviour. Higher European society felt the transience of life. There was a need for a new style that meets the post-war energy and the rapid technitization of society. Automobiles, airplanes, radios, and other technological advances demanded a new stylistic expression. The elegance and sophistication of the pre-war Art Nouveau style (Art Nouveau) already seemed old-fashioned to society. Art Deco was born on 1925, when the first grandiose International Exhibition of Modern Decorative Arts and Industrial Products was held in Paris.

Poster for the first exhibition.

It was there that the first products were presented, executed in a new style, both decorative and functional, combining luxury and elegance.

Demeter Chiparus lived and worked in Paris most of his life. His author's figurines are made in the chrysallephantine technique from gilded and silvered bronze with elements of carved and characteristically "shaded" (brown color) ivory. Stands are usually made of onyx or marble. These sculptures were made in small editions by the Edmond Etling et Cie bronze foundry and the workshops of Les Neveux de J. Lehmann, who constantly collaborated with Chiparus. Demeter was inspired by the beautiful bodies of the best dancers Folies Bergère and ballerinas of the Society of Russian Ballet under the direction of Diaghilev. These graceful stylish gizmos served as decorations for the most sophisticated homes of the European and American bourgeoisie and were not cheap even then. Sold in the best art centers in Paris, London, Berlin and New York. Currently, at auctions, the price of one author's sculpture of Chiparus reaches hundreds of thousands of euros.

Oroyan's collection began in the early 1990s with this sculptural group.
