Splashing on a fresh coat of paint is the fastest, easiest and cheapest way to refresh your home interiors. Aside from just painting the walls, you can also use them as the room’s accent or décor. With a little artistry and a lot of imagination, your walls can be highlights of the room or the house! Here are some easy DIY wall paint ideas and designs that will instantly transform the wall from humdrum to fabulous. Check these out and get ready for some painting!

1.       Random Rectangles

Cool, modern, eye-catching. This easy-to-create wall paint feature will complement your modern home interiors and don’t need creative or artistic skills to complete. Just pick your favourite colour palette and paint away random rectangles in different shades.

2.       Nordic Blues

Blue-grey shades are typical of the cool, modern and minimalist interiors of Scandinavian designs. Use several shades of Nordic blues to cover blocks of your wall. Use painter’s tape to achieve clean straight lines.

3.       Honeycomb

Perk up a plain white wall with several shades of honeycomb. The randomly placed hexagons create a fun and funky vibe to the room. Use colours that complement the room’s interiors and use – brighter shades for kid’s bedroom, more toned-down for the living room or dining area.

4.       Turquoise Ombre

Bring in the bright and cool of the ocean with this turquoise ombre wall paint. Match the colourful wall with sea-themed accents, glass and gold. The light-toned wood flooring works to soften the glare.

5.       Gingham Style

Painting squares can’t be that hard! This gingham-inspired wall feature gives the room an idyllic charm and rustic vibe. The key to a successful gingham wall feature is in carefully studying the shades, planning the painting and keeping the lines straight.

6.       Grey Diagonals

This is one of the easiest wall paint ideas and designs for an accent wall. Upgrade a blank wall into this sleek and attractive wall accent. Painting a plain grey wall with diagonal lines of different thickness and shades creates a trendy and upbeat vibe. Perfect for modern minimalist homes.

7.       Elegant Lines

The headboard wall is the ideal accent wall of a bedroom. This modern bedroom highlighted the wall with a dark shade of peacock green amongst a predominantly white interior. Black thin lines are added to create a modern chic look.

8.       Orange Burst

Easily dress up a narrow blank wall with this orange burst paint feature. Take your favourite colour, then create several shades of it by gradually adding white paint. An easy and fun way to add a pop of colour to an otherwise gloomy corner.

9.       Vertical Divide

Sleek, modern and creative. Easily upgrade your interiors with this three-tone vertical divide paintwork. The grey shades complement the modern minimalist room, while the perky yellow serves as the accent colour. Add yellow décor pieces to pick up the colour theme.

10.   3D Boxes

Add fun to your room with some 3D wall effect. This three-tone 3D box design is easy to accomplish. Draft the lines and mark the colours so you won’t get confused. Using painter’s tape will hasten the process and ensure straight lines.

11.   Circle Ombre

This circle ombre paintwork is perfect for when you just need a fun feature to dress up a blank wall. Draw a huge circle on the wall and divide into several vertical segments. Starting with the original paint colour, paint the middle part. Dilute the paint with white and work your way painting the outer segments. Remove the painters’ tape dividing the sections.

12.   Charming Check

Fun, charming, unique. This blue-themed check wall feature complements the coastal home interiors. But you can make your own check design and put in on your wall! Pick your favourite colour and create three more complementary shades to complete your check design.

13.   Colourful Geometrics

This bright and colourful geometric design works for homes and is best for rooms where you need a lot of positive energy flowing, like the living room or the family room. Its bright colours are captivating, while the diagonal strokes give the design a dynamic look.

14.   Flower Accent

Brighten up a forgettable corner of your home with this charming and fascinating wall flower accent. You can go as bright as you want by using red or orange shades, or as cool as this yellow on grey rose accent.

15.   Random Lines

Eliminate blank and boring walls easily with some ingenuity and a free weekend to work on your wall. This enthralling two-tone paint wall accent is fun, modern and original. Its random lines and colour blocking aspect effectively delivers drama and character to the room.

16.   Pastel Triangles

Fun, cheerful and bright! One of the most festive wall paint ideas and designs. Pastel triangles on the wall will make you think of confetti, party and excitement. Ideal wall feature for children’s bedroom, the playroom, the family room or even the kitchen!

17.   Blended Grey

When you want a plain grey wall, but you also want it to be exciting and unique! This blended grey wall is surely captivating and extraordinary. To achieve the cloud-like effect, use two tones of grey. Paint the lower part of the wall with the darker tone and the top with the lighter one. Use both colours in the middle part, using quick bold strokes to get the blended effect.

18.   Cross-stitched Accent

Unique, nostalgic and beautiful. This wall feature will take a lot of painstaking and detailed work to get right. But with the right attention to details and a lot of patience, it is possible. A great surprise or gift of labour for someone who’s into cross-stitching.

19.   Paint Drips

You’ll never have to worry about the drips, the overpainting and the mess with this design. Drips are encouraged and the messy result delivers a beautiful and arresting wall feature. For smaller rooms, you can do one layer of paint applied on the top of the wall, right next to the ceiling and dripped randomly.

20.   Vertical Stripes

Stripes are classic, neat and a staple in almost any design. Adding some black vertical stripes to a plain white wall will instantly transform it into this chic and elegant wall accent. From a forgettable foyer to a stylish one.

21.   Sunset Ombre

Capture the magic of sunset with this incredible sunset ombre wall design. Warm, bright, mesmerising. The key to achieving the seamless ombre wall is the careful blending of colours. Start with sky blue from the top, follow with blush, then with warm honey orange, and end with salmon at the bottom. Blend colours between shades.

22.

   Blue Mountains

Relaxing, cool and fascinating. Adding a tranquil wall décor such as this blue mountain feature evokes peace and quiet into a room. Best for bedrooms, bath or the music room. Using several shades of blue-green paint, draw and paint the dips and peaks of your mountains. You can even recreate a favoured mountain range!

23.   Dividing Diamonds

Adding pizzazz to a plain wall is easy and fun! Instead of abruptly cutting off from one colour to another, transition by adding these dividing diamonds. This wall transitioned from blue to white, and to divide the two blocks of colour, several shades of blue and white diamonds were added in between. Fun, attractive and charming!

24.   Prints and Patterns

Sleek, light and neutral. This is the perfect wall accent for the modern minimalist home. Using painters’ tape, divide the wall into triangles. Working with each triangle, randomly paint them with either grey or white, or create different patterns like stripes, fish tales, slants, starts, circles, and whatever you fancy!

25.   Connecting Dots

Give your plain white wall a fun upgrade with this dots and lines design. Easy to create but might take you some time to complete. This is easier with a sharpie. Just create random dots a few inches from each, then draw lines to connect the dots.

26.   Watercolour Effect

Arresting, creative, unforgettable! Pick some of your favourite colours to use for this colourful wall accent. Diluting acrylic paint with water will give you this fascinating watercolour effect. Keep the rest of the room muted so as not to overwhelm the overall design.

27.   Rainbow Wall

Everyone loves rainbows! Adding a cheery rainbow to your home will instantly uplift its mood and ambience. This accent wall highlights a basic rainbow arch on white. The colours more than provide the vividness that the all-white room needs.

28.   Bright Colour Blocks

Brighten up a gloomy corner or decorate a blank wall with some blocks of bright colour paint. This plain white section of the house is turned bright and interesting by just adding blocks of red, orange and yellow. Not artistic skills required, just keep your lines straight with the help of painters’ tape.

29.   Grunge Watercolour

Don’t be afraid to play with your walls and colours! This grunge watercolour wall speaks of an edgy, free and creative personality. To create the look, use acrylic paint, pick your favourite colour and dilute with water to achieve the fading effect. No rules for this design, just have fun.

30.   Origami Accent

Minimalist, colourful, fun. This bright and eye-catching origami wall accent is all you need to perk up a room! Its sleek lines and minimalist design are perfect for the modern minimalist home – just the right amount of colour and fun but without the clutter and fuss.

31.   Graded Ombre

Want to do the ombre wall but can’t achieve the seamless blend? Try this graded ombre – the easier and simpler version of the delightful wall paint trick. Instead of going for the seamless, you’ll have to do the transition in segments. Just add colour or dilute the paint as you go from one panel to the next.

32.   Dripping Mountains

Striking, colourful, inventive. This streamlined version of the mountains mural is brighter yet more subtle. Using several pastel shades of acrylic, dilute the paint with water to achieve the right drippy consistency. Fill large syringes and carefully work your way making mountain ranges across the wall.

33.   Rainbow Splatter

This is another fun project to upgrade a blank wall into something colourful and exciting. Very minimal artistic skills required! Just pick out the colour theme you want; it could be several shades of one colour, a three-colour combi or this explosive rainbow collection.

34.   Pastel Geometrics

Charming, understated, elegant. This colourful wall of muted pastel geometrics is easy to create. Using painters’ tape, map the wall out with random shapes, then fill each one with a different pastel colour. Mix some neutral shades with the pretty pastels to get the classy elegant look.

35.   Into the Woods

With the right technique, painting a forest on your wall isn’t as hard as you would imagine. This green forest wall accent is easy to create. Start from the top background paint, then work your way down making tree silhouettes and adding more of the dark green paint as you go.

36.   Red Grunge Fade

Edgy, fascinating, extraordinary. This rust-red grunge paint wall accent brings in an edgy and vivacious character to the room. The awesome way to disrupt the perfect orderliness of the modern minimalist interiors. After painting a section of the wall, press a wet rug to the newly painted section to create the grungy effect.

37.   Hand Drawn Herringbone

Funky and creative, minimalist and attractive. Add a fun and trendy vibe to the room by creating this easy-to-do hand drawn herringbone wall accent. You’ll need a lot of patience working your way across the wall, but the work is simple enough. This is the only time you’re allowed to draw on the wall!

38.   Colourful Fish Scales

This fish scales wall paint feature will not only dress up your wall, but it will also bring fun and excitement to the room. Adding some party colours in fun shapes will instantly transform a humdrum wall into this colourful and gorgeous feature. Best for children’s bedroom, the nursery, the family room or even for outdoor hubs.

39.   Unfinished Half

This may look like you’ve run out of paint, but it is actually a fun and quirky wall paint feature. This unique wall accent is a great conversation starter and is one of the easiest to accomplish. The streamlined elegant look underlines the fun and creative whimsy of the wall feature.

40.   Elegant Minimalist

Some of the best wall paint ideas and designs actually use a sharpie. This elegant and classy wall accent is very easy to achieve! The first step is to paint the wall with a dark shade of colour. Once the paint has dried, use a gold sharpie pen to create the thin elegant lines. Done!

41.

   Patterned Pastels

Funky, bright, exciting! Eliminate boring walls with some fun pastel prints and patterns. Design patterns and options are endless, just use your imagination! This colourful concoction of dots, shapes and patterns results to an electrifying fun wall.

42.   Floral Doodle

Express yourself and showcase your art on your wall! This amazing floral doodle wall feature is elegant and astounding as it is in black and white. You can also opt for the more attention-grabbing finish by adding in colours.

43.   Vertical Lines

Subtle, elegant, modern. Adding random vertical lines to your plain wall will instantly give it a more modern and exciting look. The white vertical slants on grey background wall accent give this bedroom a contemporary yet stylish finish.

44.   Painted Wood Planks

Love wood planks on your walls but would also like some colour? This painted wood planks wall gives a fascinating, fabulous and unique look to the bedroom. The bright colours instantly uplift the bedroom from mundane to stunning. Highlight the wall feature with some spotlights.

45.   Random Curves

In the minimalist trend of neutral colours and straight lines, this accent wall of curves and pastels is a standout. The circles and curves soften the look, while light pastels complement the modern minimalist styling.

Wall Decor: 25+ Ideas for Decorating Rooms

Round Up

Experimenting with spatial geometry is fun. You can change the space without resorting to construction work. The circles on the wall and the door completely transformed the room. To do this, the author of the interior needed several cans of paint and knowledge of one simple rule: dark colors are perceived by the eye as more distant, while light ones seem closer.

Photo
Paul Raeside

Outlining

Outlining can make expressive not only eyes, but also ... walls. This simple but "powerful" technique has been used by decorators for many centuries in a row. The outline of architectural elements, corners, ledges, door frames, plinths gives the room a resemblance to an architectural sketch drawn in full size, making it more graphic, bright and memorable. In addition to the walls in the same way, you can transform individual interior items: consoles, tables, lampshades.

Photo
Paul Raeside

Drawing Lessons

If you want to decorate the walls with paintings, but nature has not endowed you with the gift of a muralist, use stencils (they can be made to order at any of the large format printing companies). Just remember that large prints and bright colors work best in well-lit rooms.

Pantone

Gradient painting, in other words, a smooth transition between two or more colors, is a fashionable design technique. Using it, you can not only create an interesting image of the interior, but also play with the visual perception of the proportions of the room. To make the room seem higher, place more saturated shades from below, making them more transparent as they approach the ceiling.

Northern Lights

An idea for avid clubbers. Paint wall fragments in acid colors using special phosphorescent paints. Such a coating accumulates light, and in the dark begins to emit it in the form of a glow. In order for the resulting art canvases to take on a finished look, frame them with a molding or baguette.

The fashion for the 1980s is back! “Acid” colors and neon appeared in the interiors again!

Home of Bloggers in Milan designed by John Pentassuglia.

Between the past and the future

If the classic interior seems too boring for you, do not rush to knock decorative moldings and stucco moldings off the walls. We offer an easier and, most importantly, effective way to "rejuvenate" the interior - paint the room in gray, which is relevant at all times. To avoid monotony, bright multi-colored stripes applied over a neutral background will help.

Non-children's games

Children love to play, draw and have fun. In this they are like decorators. Following the author of this room for a boy, you can also misbehave a little: for example, instead of a headboard, draw a rectangle of a contrasting color on the wall, and at the same time adjust the silhouette of a modern wall clock. Agree, they look much more fun this way.

All against the wall!

If only you knew from what rubbish… objects of modern design are sometimes created. Postcards, candy wrappers, herbariums, and even insects are all great wall decorations. One “but” - it can take years to assemble it and, most importantly, hang it up, and with them the desire to complete the job. To save you time and effort, the designers have released ready-made wallpapers imitating a collage of the above objects attached to the wall with adhesive tape, buttons and pins.

Patchwork

Who said that only blankets can be patchwork? Patchwork looks great on the walls too. Plain wallpaper, vinyl tile or paint can be used. To avoid excessive variegation, alternate colored squares with white ones.

Look at the root

Have you decided to build a home library? Commendable! In the meantime, the essence and the matter, priceless folios that have not yet been bought can be replaced with wallpaper with their life-size “portraits”. To finally mislead guests, paste over with this wallpaper not only the walls, but also the door. The Fornasetti brand has similar wallpapers. Tiles with books are also a good solution.

Two in one

When you start renovating, don't rush to buy a set of the same wallpaper for the whole room. Feel like an artist and think of different interesting options. And there are many of them. You can, for example, stick just one strip on a painted wall; alternate wallpaper with different patterns, but the same color, or, conversely, use wallpapers with the same pattern, but different colors ... Any other ideas?

A worthy replacement

Walls upholstered in juyi fabric or textiles with chinoiserie ornaments are undoubtedly very beautiful, but such a finish is not cheap. A more budget option is wallpaper with the same pattern. They can be found, for example, in the collections of Pierre Frey, Osborne & Little or de Gournay.

B/W

Make a mosaic of wallpapers of the same color range, but with different patterns. A win-win option, suitable for both classic and modern interiors, is a combination of black and white.

Upside down

Don't be afraid to experiment. Try gluing polystyrene ceiling panels to the wall. Acrylic paint in a trendy shade will emphasize the texture and allow you to play with the shadows. It's nice that this finishing option will cost much less than similar wall modules made of wood, MDF and leather.

Residual phenomenon

Everyone who has ever made repairs has a collection of remnants of different-sized tiles. We advise you not to store it in the pantry, but to put it into action. Decorate the wall above the sink in the bathroom or in the kitchen with an original collage. Do not be afraid to combine tiles of different thicknesses, sizes and textures, with or without a pattern. In order not to overdo it with color, “dilute” it all with white tiles.

Stonework

Even in a city apartment you can create the feeling that you are in a castle or palace. Stonework with rustication will be completely replaced by tiles with wide seams or MDF panels. This technique is often used in the design of halls and hallways. Lighting in the form of street lamps, octagon tiles and gothic-style furniture are suitable as entourage.

Program "Time"

Surely each of us has ever collected at least something: figurines of elephants, irons, license plates or, as the owner of this apartment, wall clocks. All this wealth can be used as decoration.

In orderly rows

A strict geometric composition is the easiest and at the same time a win-win way to hang pictures or any other works of art. In this case, we are talking about the covers of music discs. A rhythmic composition of identical white frames hung between even rows of vertical bars does not look boring thanks to the bright "substrate". Her role is played by a plain painted wall.

Gender

Dreaming of a chalet? To do this, it is not at all necessary to buy a house on the slopes of the Alps. You can create the right atmosphere in a city apartment. Just take a floorboard (preferably an old one) and sheathe one of the walls with it. Both light and dark wood will look equally impressive.

All openwork

How does a designer differ from an ordinary person? The ability to look at things in a new way and use them not for their intended purpose. A fresh idea is to decorate the wall with fragments of white radiator grilles with openwork patterns. The wall against which they are installed, of course, should be painted in a bright color.

Brick wall

Ever since bare brickwork migrated from lofts to ordinary apartments, it has been dearly loved by architects and designers. If you like the natural color of the brick, cover it with a protective layer of polyurethane varnish or drying oil, then it will not “dust”. Or roll up the wall with paint, such as white or gray.

Braid with three boxes

The wall can be finished, but even better - done. This lightweight partition consists of a wooden frame, inside of which strips of thin plywood are fixed. This design not only looks impressive, but also partially transmits light, which is sometimes necessary. If you want to do this, please note: instead of plywood, you can use fabric stretched over the frame, such as coarse canvas or thick silk.

Malevich's Architecton

Decorate your wall with an abstract composition in the spirit of the avant-garde artists of the twenties. To do this, you will need several sheets of drywall or MDF. After sticking the squares on the wall, paint the “masterpiece” with matte or glossy paint. If you don’t have time to fiddle with breadboard knives, glue and a brush, order ready-made wall panels with an interesting relief. Drywall and white paint can be found in any building market.

Closed Doors Day

The American philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Every wall is a door." Designers have figured it out in their own way. Do not rush to throw away old doors - they can become excellent wall panels. Different shapes, colors and textures will only add originality to the solution. Old doors should be looked for in demolition houses. In addition to them, by the way, you can find a lot of other interesting things.

Wall decor: 11 modern ideas

Wall decor is a good way to create a cozy atmosphere in a room. Various techniques and elements will come to the rescue: accent wallpaper, plaster, original painting and more

Empty walls leave the interior unfinished and boring. But it is also important to decorate them wisely - to avoid visual congestion. We figure out together with experts how to decorate the walls in a modern interior.

What modern wall decor looks like

Many of the usual decoration elements are no longer used today, some have been modified to reflect modern trends. This is important to consider in order not to end up with an outdated interior.

Evgeny Nedoborov, founder and partner of INRE Design Studio:

— Wall decor depends on the interior of the room. The simplest rule is to remove everything that does not fit with the interior, that looks foreign and too bright.

Decor should be moderately decorative. It is important not to overdo it, not to create leapfrog inside and not litter the space. The abundance of details, souvenirs in abundance are not in trend. Memorabilia should not overload the room. Even fridge magnets can be chosen with taste. Three or four stylish stainless steel magnets will refresh the interior, you can add a few small photos to them.

1. Decor with slats

Panels, walls and partitions fully lined with wooden slats look good in eco-style and loft style. You can combine shades of rails, and fix a garland or lamps on top. Reiki make the wall accent, which helps to zone the space. It is important that these elements are combined in color with the floor, furniture and other interior items.

2. Paintings and photographs

You can combine paintings, photographs, posters with inscriptions in one composition (Photo: Unsplash)

Images should be in harmony with the space of the room. To do this, they should be unified - for example, inserted into suitable frames, the color of which echoes other elements in space. It's great if you can compose a composition of similar and complementary shades.

Evgeniy Nedoborov:

— Family photos can also become decorative elements, but this is a rather intimate topic, so such pictures can be “drowned” deeper in the interior, placed closer to or inside children’s and sleeping areas.

9 original ideas for decorating an empty wall (Photo: Shutterstock)

Designers and apartment owners today increasingly prefer painted walls over wallpaper. It is not necessary to make the walls plain, you can use stencils to apply patterns - floral ornaments and geometric shapes. For even straight lines, you don’t even need a stencil, ordinary masking tape will suffice. The only disadvantage of this decor is that it is not so easy to replace it, you will have to repaint the wall.

Elena Lebedeva, designer, head of Plan A studio:

— The wall can be decorated in many ways, such as painting in the form of birds, plants or geometric shapes. Most often, this decor is used for the surface on which you want to focus: behind the head of the bed, on the central wall in the living room or in the nursery. I like to use no more than two colors on the walls. I add shades in textiles so that in the future the interior can be easily changed and updated.

The first stage is the development of a sketch on paper, then we transfer it to the wall with a pencil and only after that we color our drawing. If you are not sure about your artistic skills, then prepare a stencil: with it you will definitely be able to recreate even and clear lines.

4. Fabric on the wall

In the last century, it was fashionable to hang massive carpets on the wall, which have now migrated to the floor. But you should not completely abandon textiles on the walls; not only light, draped canvases are suitable, but also heavy tapestries, vintage scarves, woven macramé, etc. This decor can be changed at least every day and can be easily transferred when rearranging furniture.

5. Outline of the room

Bright lines make a simple white room original and memorable (Photo: Pinterest)

The outline of architectural elements, wall corners or furniture makes them as visible as possible. By choosing a contrasting paint, you can arrange the joints of the walls, floor and ceiling with straight lines, as if outlining the frame of the room. This technique is suitable for the entire room, but it can only be used on one of the walls and even on furniture.

6. Color blocking

Color-blocking is a technique that uses two or more contrasting shades. This is a bold decor option, in which the interior contains bright, often opposite colors in the palette. Strict geometry is important - a clear division into sections. Complex multi-component compositions are best worked out with a designer.

Elena Lebedeva:

- You can create decor with ordinary interior paints or with special decorative rulers. I have had projects with interesting decorative paints such as Tikkurila Taika for pearlescent accents or Tikkurila Liitu for a slate effect on the wall.

Follow the manufacturer's instructions and you'll be fine. As a rule, only two coats are enough: apply the first coat, and then, after one to two hours, the second.

This decor will last a very long time, of course, if you follow the technique of application and choose high-quality paint. When you want a change, use a paint with a high hiding power - this will allow you to cover even the brightest colors in one or two layers. With multi-layer application and screen painting, a slight relief may remain. In this case, it must be leveled by puttying or grinding.

7. Unusual mirrors

A mirror in an interior is not only a functional item. Arrange several different mirrors in the room; they will expand the space and make it brighter and more radiant.

8. Flower pots

When placing plants, consider the level of humidity and lighting in the room (Photo: Shutterstock)

If there is not enough space on the windowsill, and there is no desire to buy a separate rack, flowers can be placed on the walls. This will save space and bring it to life. Flowers in pots can be placed on shelves or hung in knitted baskets. Climbing plants, wooden elements and moss in vertical panels will look good.

9. Large boards

Cork and chalk boards are not just for the office (Photo: Shutterstock)

Cork and white boards are placed not only in the office and children's room. They can become the basis for decorative compositions from photographs, drawings and small memorabilia. The Whiteboard Marker Board is a modern alternative to chalkboards, available in a variety of colors.

10. Stickers

Wall decoration with stickers (Photo: Shutterstock)

An easy way to quickly decorate walls is with special wall stickers, such as geometric shapes in different colors. Such elements can repeat the decor on the bed or sofa, be a color accent and zone the space.

Evgeniy Nedoborov:

— Stickers can be replaced by abstract picturesque panels, bizarrely shaped glass elements or minimalistic graphics. Even the plates on the walls can be presented in different sizes and colors - this will be a trend.

11. Driftwood and branches

Branches can be painted or retain the natural color of the wood (Photo: Pinterest)

Sustainable materials are on the rise. With a varnished driftwood or branch, you can instantly accent an ordinary wall. A garland or climbing plants can be stretched over the tree structure. Or you can design a whole forest composition from several branches to place books and photographs on it.

Wall decor for different rooms

When choosing a decor, it is important to consider the features of the room and its functional purpose.

Living room wall decor

The living room is best suited for creative decor. It can use bright colors on the walls, which are not always acceptable in the bedroom. Plants, textiles, wood - whatever you like will do.

Decor on the walls in the bedroom

It is desirable that in the recreation area there are no flashy colors and visually annoying variety of textures. In the bedroom, the wall at the head of the bed is usually decorated, so it is especially important that the decor is safe. It is better to place large elements above the level of the head in a sitting position of the body.

Decor on the walls in the hallway

An important difference between the standard hallway and other rooms is its small size and lack of natural light. For wall decor in the corridor, it is better to abandon massive elements and fresh flowers that require a lot of sunlight. But photographs, color block, writing boards and mirrors look as appropriate here as possible.

Kitchen wall decor

Kitchen walls can be decorated in any modern way. As a rule, the accent surface is made as far as possible from the “wet” and culinary zones. So the decor will not deteriorate from constant contact with water or drops of fat from the stove. In a small kitchen, you can place shelves for dishes and plants on the walls, thereby increasing the functionality of the space.

Nursery wall decor

In an outdoor play room, it is better not to place fragile elements and flowers on the walls, but ideas with a variety of coloring and stickers are a good choice. Designers do not advise decorating the entire nursery in the style of characters from a cartoon or a book: the preferences of small tenants often change, so it is better to choose those references to your favorite characters that are easy to replace.
