The iconic bridal gown designer and esteemed housewares company have partnered once again to launch a line of citrus-infused pieces, including bedding, linens, bathroom staples, entertainment items, accessories, and other décor. Unlike past collections, this new collaboration draws upon inspiration from the fashion mogul’s personal life and exotic travels—particularly her frequent trips to the Amalfi Coast, which helped develop the lemon motif and eye-catching hues that set this line apart.
“Positano’s lush gardens of lemon trees and the vibrant colors of the coastal landscape have always captivated me,” Lhuillier exclusively tells Brides. “They informed the feel and personality of the collection: bright, fresh, and full of life."
After soaking up the natural beauty of the Italian cliffside village, Lhuillier was motivated to design a brand-new print for Pottery Barn, which features the iconic lemon trees of Positano. From pillowcases to plates, this pattern makes an appearance across many of these new household pieces. Whether you’re tying the knot in the spring or summer, live in a warm climate, or want to channel cheerful vibes in your home, this citrus-inspired print will look beautiful on display. For a unique twist, you can also pair the bold designs with items you already own. “The prints and patterns from this collection were designed to be paired with solids and other textures to create a whole new bedroom or tabletop look for spring,” a representative from Pottery Barn says.
“Mixing and matching these patterns, colors, and textures with your everyday pieces brings Monique’s signature elegance to entertaining and decorating.” Looking for some ideas? Try combining the printed pillows with a white comforter for a colorful edge, or bring a coastal flair to your neutral bathroom by hanging up the patterned shower curtain.

Although Lhuillier loves every design she fabricated, her absolute favorite is the Positano printed bedding. “While I cherish the entire offering, this relaxed-yet-elegant bedding design makes a beautiful statement for the bedroom,” she says. “I love the outdoors, and this print brings nature and a fresh pop of color into the home. This custom print is the foundation for the Spring 2023 Collection, tying in the entire collection. It is pure happiness!”

Yes, October may have just peeked its pumpkin-filled face, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start thinking about the winter holiday season. And if decorating your abode ranks high on your list this time of year, you’re in luck. Pottery Barn’s latest collaboration with designer Monique Lhuillier just launched, and it promises the chicest yuletide season ever.
(For those of you planning to do some entertaining, this collection is definitely a must.)
Although this collection is not Lhuillier’s first with the iconic home brand, this season in particular feels especially celebratory to the designer, so she made sure to include items that delivered a sentiment of excitement. And while the designer’s fashions are known for their extravagant, whimsical, and almost fairy-tale-like features, Lhuillier chose more classic and simplistic elements when designing for the home.
In an emailed interview with TZR, she explains she drew inspiration from the outdoor elements of winter that signal holiday cheer. “I collaborated with Pottery Barn to infuse this collection with elements of nature by highlighting touches of seasonal evergreens, holiday hues of rich red, pine green, and flax, and festive branches and winter berries,” explains Lhuillier. “The one entertaining piece that I love is the Marble Cheese Board & Knife Set. Its graceful shape and gold rope handles are so elegant for anytime entertaining.
”
The collection, which includes dining table essentials, traditional holiday decor (like stockings and tree ornaments), and linens and bedding, is bedecked in festive holiday hues of gold, green, and red. And, according to Lhuillier, every piece already has its place in her home come Dec. 1. “I am most looking forward to adding festive touches to my home [like] the gorgeous Berry Melrose chargers and the Festive Dot champagne flutes,” she says of her favorites from the collection. “The Garden Floral bedding will add style and warmth to the guest rooms, while the chenille throws will be stacked by the fire.”

Courtesy of Pottery Barn What’s your decor approach for the holidays?My décor approach for the holidays is to create a single theme and incorporate different finishes, textures, and colors to add interest and dimension.
I often start with a neutral backdrop and then layer in accents that pop. Lighting is also essential to holiday decorating. It creates a warm glow and ambiance that is both inviting and calming. I like mixing different heights of candles along with festive greenery to create the perfect tablescape while making sure to carry each season’s holiday theme throughout my home to create a look that is consistent and timeless.
Seasonal decorating doesn’t have to be a complete transformation of a space, but can be brought about by creating small special moments that reflect the allure of each season. Simple tweaks like changing out the color of a living room throw, displaying holiday stockings and ornaments, adding a garland to the fireplace, or setting the table with festive glassware, can bring the holidays to life.

More is not often better when it comes to the holidays. Keep it elegant by carefully selecting your favorite accents and tying in your holiday theme all the way from your front door to your tablescape.
Both my personal and home décor aesthetic are about relaxed, effortless style. While I often ‘get dressed’ for many occasions, I love a chic-yet-casual approach for everyday.
What’s your general approach to home decor and design?Be true to yourself. Don’t try to create a space that doesn’t feel authentic. If it suits your personality you will always feel at home.
What is your favorite part of the holiday season? Any favorite memories?Spending time with my children. They are growing up so fast and I cherish the time I spend with them.
Do you entertain often during this time of year? Is your home typically the one people flock to?For the holidays, we often travel to the Philippines to celebrate with my family.
Each year I look forward to getting away and resetting for the New Year.

Interesting Museum showing past and future of Doha

Very interesting museum located at one end of the Corniche. Gives an excellent history of Doha and the transformation that is taking place. Museums in Doha are free to visit. Take a walk along the 7km Corniche and visit the Islamic Art Museum at the other end. An interesting city expanding for the future.

Tried to visit as I was passing through during normal opening hours in April 2019. There was a sign outside saying closed for maintenance. Not sure if I was just unlucky that day. No further information available.

Excellent Doha history and future town planning

This small museum gives a brief but excellent and easily understood history of the rapid transformation of Doha from small town to major city in the space of 60 years. The future town planning exhibit gives an exciting insight into a new, sustainable and “human scale” development that many large cities in the world should aspire to.

If you have never been to Qatar and want to learn about its actual past livelihood and developments, then you need to visit this place.
This place provides great information about the past few decades and visual of aerial images of how the place looked liked before how it became to what we see today. It also exhibits miniature infrastructure designs of previous and future plans.
This center is innovative of itself, it is built on to a decommissioned barge that they turned into a magnificent place to visit near downtown Doha.

Worth a visit

Lovely location and although it is small it is very informative and has some clever features. Pleased we went and the manager was extremely helpful and gave us a brief overview. The staff were very welcoming and offered free coffee or water which was a nice surprise.
