1. Play it safe and stylish with a bright white shade.

Charleston-based designer Megan Molten says you can never go wrong with a vivid shade of white to enliven your bathroom without relying on a dramatic color you may dislike in a few months. In fact, she created her own ideal shade, Sherwin Williams’ Megan Molten White, that she says is not too warm and not too cool.

“It reflects natural light so perfectly to create a beautiful, clean, and airy space, which are all the things you want your bathroom to be: The perfect retreat!” says Molten.

6. Make a gray statement.

Blogger Ashley Goldman of The Gold Hive used a gray shade of paint, specifically, Behr’s Antique Tin, in her space. “I chose the shade because I wanted a dark hue that was neutral yet bold,” she explains. “There’s so much white tile on the walls and the floors that I had a good opportunity to go for a deeper hue on the walls. The deep charcoal provides a modern contrast yet keeps with the classic style of the bathroom.”

She shares plenty of tips on how to select the best paint color for a space in a blog post, saying, “Paint will present itself differently on different planes, so you want to be sure to have the samples upright, not laying on the ground.  I look at them on each wall, in corners, during the day and at night,” she writes.

18. Create balance with white.

In a sea of color, there’s nothing wrong with opting for plain white as blogger Erin Kestenbaum did during her One Room Challenge. Kestenbaum selected Benjamin Moore’s Decorator’s White, and says, “Using a crisp, bright white on the walls visually expands the room when combined with lots of light streaming into the space. 22. Back to black.

“People tend to shy away from black shades on walls for fear of making a space feel smaller, but that shouldn’t be a hard and fast rule,” says designer Breegan Jane. “Selecting the right shade and styling the space well can actually achieve the opposite effect!”

One of her favorite black paint colors is Glidden’s Onyx Black, which the designer says is a favorite for pairing with golden metallics. Jane notes that this color will ensure your bathroom feels like a luxurious surprise for all who enter.

How To Paint A Wall

30 Bathroom Paint Colors Interior Designers Swear By

Design: Christina Kim Interior Design; Photo: Raquel Langworthy

It's no secret that paint can transform a space. Whether you're looking to refresh your small powder room or revamp your primary bathroom, a fresh coat can quickly take a bathroom of any size from drab and dreary to open and bright or moody and sophisticated. But, as anyone who's wandered down the paint aisle at their local hardware store can attest, choosing a paint color is easier said than done.

When it comes to selecting the right bathroom paint color, there are a number of factors to consider, particularly if you're freshening up an especially small bathroom. Will a dark hue make the room feel sophisticated and modern or cramped and cave-like? Will a crisp shade of white look too cold and stark in a room without windows? Because paint colors can be so hard to envision, naturally, we turned to the pros to narrow down our swatch selection. Read on for the best paint colors for bathrooms.

Chantilly Lace is a classic, and we had lots of other designers select this creamy white as well.

The Pros Have Spoken: The 7 Best Small-Bathroom Paint Colors

Modern bathroom style / How to create a stylish bathroom? / Cersanit

We decorate the space in accordance with our taste, worldview, habits. We choose the colors that we like - bright and accent or calm and measured combinations. It is enough to look into the bathroom and by its design the character and lifestyle of the owner will become clear. nine0015

Modern, high-tech, classic and Scandinavian style, art deco and loft - with the help of these modern styles, people create their favorite space. Let's look at the main differences between the directions and their features - so you can choose the right style or even competently combine several directions in your interior.

Decorative modern

Concept. This style is based on decorativeness. Accents rule here, and the development of forms and “vitalism” become the center of the idea. In this trend, the traditions of East and West are mixed, so we see rethought natural motifs. nine0015

Colors. The color scheme of the bathroom decoration should match the idea. All shades of green, grey, beige and brown are suitable, as well as light tones of pearl gray and sky blue. Art Nouveau is characterized by muted colors and smooth curved lines, as in the ATRIA LEAVES collection. In interiors made in this style, all forms are laconic, which can be seen in the CHANCE LEAVES collection. In modern, you can synthesize a variety of styles, and we see this in the example of EFFECTA JUNGLE. nine0015

Receptions. This style is characterized by zoning not only with the help of furniture and partitions, but also with the help of colors and materials that differ from each other in texture. This technique is well illustrated by the IVORY LINES collection.

Filling. A modern bathroom is made not only by an unusual finishing material. Washbasins and bathtubs in uncomplicated forms emphasize the idea, enhance the effect and connect the classic decorativeness with modern requirements to make the space minimalistic. nine0015

Narcissistic high-tech

Concept. Hi-tech style proclaims the superiority of technology. Its name "high technology" is translated as "high technology". It pairs with maximum functionality in everything.

Colors. But the color palette of finishing materials will be very simple thanks to the general rule - high-tech loves light colors. To create such interiors, designers almost always choose snow-white, milky or pearl, which emphasize "sterility" and cleanliness. Paired with a light color, saturated shades are often used: dark gray and black, as in the EVOLUTION collection. In hi-tech, you can also find other rich shades of bright colors: red, dark blue or green. All of them work as amplifiers of whiteness and futurism in the interior. nine0015

Materials. A high-tech bathroom will have a lot of glass, chrome-plated metal, and plastic. Interior decoration enhances the importance of progressive technology or simply does not detract from it. The owner of a high-tech interior should be focused on his electronic new clothes.

Rational classic

Concept. The main feature of the classical style in the interior is symmetry and emphasis on furniture. All auxiliary ones line up from the central object. For example, armchairs, a showcase or chest of drawers are equidistant from a sofa or fireplace. nine0015

Colors. Finishing in a classic interior should be calm and natural, in natural tones, as in the DECO MIX and CALACATTA collections. There may be bright accent shades here, but they can only emphasize the idea, and not put it in the center of the composition. An example of the delicate use of decors in interior design is the OMNIA and DALLAS ORNAMENT collections.

Materials. A light classic interior is a spacious and clean space that often uses wood or marble. In classic bathrooms, the center of attention will of course be the bathtub. There are no strict restrictions in its design, but a traditional white bowl with carved legs in the center of the layout will become a harmonious decoration. nine0015

Freedom-loving Scandinavian style

Concept. Scandinavian style, which came to us from Northern Europe, loves natural textures and spacious interiors. His main idea is the harmonious relationship of man with nature. The main tools of this direction: eco-materials, light color palette and an abundance of light.

Colors. If you want to create a Scandinavian interior, use a limited palette of shades in the decoration, organize large windows and a lot of artificial lighting. Cleanliness and a sense of spaciousness will be added by white sanitary ware and furniture. Despite the brevity, the Scandinavian style is by no means monotonous. To dilute monochrome colors will help saturated, but not "flashy" shades, embodied in small details. Use cool or light shades of blue, green, orange and yellow. nine0015

Materials. All these colors are inherent in natural materials - stone, wood, floral elements. You can be inspired by the collections of tiles CARIOTA, GLORY LEAVES. Light or dark wood is easy to introduce as furniture filling, and stone is used for floor and wall decoration, as in the APEKS GEOMETRY, ORGANICWOOD, ALRAMI GEOMETRY collections. Such details "enliven" the bathroom and break the stereotype about the "sterility" of the design.

nine0039

Glamor Art Deco

Concept. Art Deco is a story of luxury, bright contrasts, strict geometry in design. Natural stone, gold and leather, expensive wood help to create a rich and luxurious space.

Colors. Traditional combinations of black and white, white and gold, black and green, and even red and silver are suitable for finishing the bathroom. All colors should be deep, all decors should be glamorous. Art Deco is no stranger to pastel shades of yellow, blue, pink and green. nine0015

Receptions. In interior design, use geometric shapes, stepped and angular patterns, as in the ROYAL STONE ORNAMENT collection. You can zone the space with tiles of different colors and textures, as designers did with the MERCURY collection.

Filling. Art Deco is a glossy style. Use everything shiny in the interior: glazed and polished tiles, mirrors, glass, metal and lacquered finishes, as in the SEVILLA collection. Glamor and wealth are guaranteed to you. nine0015

Urban Loft

Concept. An ardent opponent of conservatism - a loft born in industrial buildings. The style was greatly transformed, acquired human features. And yet he took with him from the ruins of the former factories high ceilings, brick walls, protruding beams and craving for open space.

Colors and shapes. Loft-style bathroom is very strict: there are only natural colors and regular shapes. Concrete and metal effect tiles are suitable as finishing materials, as in the BROOKLYN MIX and FORTUNA MIX collections. It is concrete that gives the industrial character to the interior. It can be dark or light. It can be laid in a monolithic canvas or divided into blocks. It is desirable that it be everywhere - on the floor and on the walls. Even the countertop can be made of concrete. It is even better to “roll up” the entire bathroom in concrete, but it is unlikely to be comfortable. Therefore, the loft meets us halfway and allows us to make fashionable wooden inserts so that we do not feel very cold and uncomfortable. Sometimes bright colors can be added to the loft, but in moderation, such as in the LOFTHOUSE MIX and CALACATTA CHEVRON collections. nine0015

Filling. If the finish is strict and geometric, then filling the bathroom should be interesting. Supply state-of-the-art plumbing fixtures, gleaming steel faucets and faucets. Loft likes to be a bit tech-y. By the way, something from minimalism is sometimes traced in it, for example, multi-level ceiling structures and “light from nowhere”.

It is difficult to meet any style in the interior in its purest form. Designers often mix trends, experiment with accents and textures. As a result of creative rethinking and combinations, new styles are born that are pleasing to the eye and reflect the needs of modern man. nine0015

Design Ideas

1. Two in One

The concept of "two in one" - a shower and a bath - is rethought. Now a glass barrier separates the large shower and tub from the cramped tub with shower head and shower screens. This is a great option for those who value pragmatism and efficiency. In addition, it is suitable for both large and small spaces. There are three distinct benefits to this shower design: Space saving: Freestanding showers and bathtubs can be placed in larger bathrooms. A shower/tub combo is a great alternative if you don't have space. The tub/shower combo caters for the different needs of each family member, such as washing small children or showering for older children. When guests arrive, they can choose from two options. Economical: prefabricated bath and shower combinations are very economical and easy to install. Even if you choose a better tiled design for your bath-shower combo, the materials and labor required to create a separate shower and bath will cost less. nine0015

2. Double shower heads

No more waiting for your loved one to finish showering. Two people can shower at the same time thanks to the large showers and double shower heads. It is both functional and symmetrical. This feature also frames elements such as trendy bathroom tiles and decor accents. To make them stand out even more, use fittings that contrast with the color scheme of the room. For example, black trim will contrast with bright colors, while white trim will stand out in a dimly lit room. nine0015

Double shower heads are one of the most technologically sophisticated shower fixtures on the market today. They are in all modern institutions, allowing you to make the process of taking a bath more fun.

3. Close connection with nature

The idea of erasing barriers between interior and exterior is not new. Bathroom ideas for 2022, on the other hand, go one step further. Bathrooms blend in with the environment through a combination of location, materials and design. In the interior, add more wood and large glass walls. Whether it's glass walls and a glass door in the bathroom, or installing a separate tub on your terrace (or garden) so you can bathe while admiring the scenery. Imagine yourself soaping yourself to the sound of birds singing or the rustling of trees, or lying in the bath, inhaling the scent of roses (or anything else in bloom). Bringing nature into the bathroom has its health benefits. nine0015

4. Shower room without partitions

The whole process is simplified by creating an inner shell that can withstand the humid conditions of the bathroom. For starters, there is no need for a split shower stall as the tub, sink and shower can all be in the same section. In addition, such rooms are easy to clean and are great for optimizing space. Showers are still a good idea for tiny spaces, but they are now showing up in high-end bathrooms. This is a natural continuation of the free-standing bathtub fashion popular in recent years. And there are plenty of decorative elements you can add to make it more appealing to your style. nine0015

5. Blue bathroom

Cool tones are in the spotlight in 2022. Your space can be large or informal depending on what shade of blue you use. Indigo or sea, for example, has a ceremonial aspect and gives the room a special meaning. Chalky blue or turquoise, on the contrary, can evoke thoughts of the sea coast. Cool shades look good with warm materials like wood or bamboo. Whether you want to create a bathroom that feels relaxed and beachy, luxurious and feminine, or ultra-modern, blue can help you achieve any design. nine0015

6. Classic white design

White is one of those colors that will never go out of style. On the other hand, when choosing bathroom hues in 2022, get creative with all white. In this all-white bathroom, the marble-clad tub and floor create depth and structure. There is another color that goes well with white and that is definitely black. Despite being diametrically opposed, they go well together and you can use black as a bathroom accessory for a variety of items, including all light fixtures, moldings and decorations, and floor tiles. Thus, the room will remain bright and open and will not seem boring. nine0015

7.

Cotton + Beige

One of the best bathroom color combinations that is guaranteed to make you smile is one that is inspired by the finest things in life. Interiors in cotton candy, bubblegum, cotton and beige are bright and vibrant, making them perfect for a stylish home. They will also give you the energy boost you need in the morning.

8. All shades of gray

Dark shades are already trending in the bathroom, particularly in the form of eye-catching lights or matte black bathtubs. Black, on the other hand, will cover the walls and floor, creating a stark contrast. With gleaming gold trim and hardware, this base will stand out. Illuminate the bathroom with low or subdued light to complete the sophisticated ambiance. Add a couple of plants if you like. This bathroom decor idea is simple and anyone can bring it to life without much effort. nine0015

9. Tiles with wood

In general, trends are changing towards more naturalistic. As a result, there will be more earthy tactile textures on walls and floors. Wood look tile is a great alternative to regular wood as it can expand and contract in such an environment. One of the most loved bathroom decor tile designs of 2022, vertical tile can help make a space feel more spacious. The great thing about this design is that it is perfect for bathrooms of any size and easily adapts to the décor. nine0015

10. Texture and volume

Elegant and minimalist bathrooms benefit from intricate and layered tiles. But that's not all. In fact, these bathroom tile patterns can fit into a wide variety of design styles, from modern Mediterranean style to minimalism. In combination with light colors and finishes, they will make a lasting impression.

11. Natural stone

The popularity of natural stone has been gradually growing since its introduction many years ago. Its natural dark look and naturalistic grain make it easy to see why. It has a distinct earthy hue, making it ideal for eco-friendly homes. No wonder such a bold material has taken the lead in bathroom design in 2022.

12. Chevron Gradient

Chevron tiles are popular again, but this time with new details. With the use of ceramics of different colors, marble or glass, the meandering or v-shaped design expands the scope. This year, this Art Deco accent will take center stage in bathroom décor. nine0015

13. Hexagonal tile

Designers take their favorite tile to new creative heights. The hexagon, which is one of the most popular tile designs, is getting a fun update. Bathrooms in 2022 will have both the smallest and simplest floor tiles and magnificent decor. Also, trendsetters will not stick to one tile shape. You can use hexagon, herringbone and square in the same space to create a single look.
