FAQ.

Our classic nutribullet Pro has a 900 watt motor base and comes with two 32-ounce cups and the corresponding accessories. The nutribullet Rx has a 1700 watt motor base, large-capacity attachments, and a heating function, making it our most powerful and versatile personal blender.

Our original nutribullet model is just that: a classic that will never go out of style. It’s a compact personal-size blender with 600-watts of power that is ideal if you prefer to blend simple smoothies and shakes in single portions. Like the original nutribullet, the nutribullet Pro is one of our tried and true classics. It has more capability with 900 watts of power and is designed to blend tougher ingredients like celery, ginger, and whole nuts to a smooth, even consistency. Our nutribullet Pro is also often available for a short time in exclusive colors.

While the nutribullet Pro 900 can crush ice, our Pro 1000 is known for being the little engine that could – it’s the personal blender that’s best at crushing ice and blending frozen fruit.

All of the cups and lids can be hand washed and are also top rack dishwasher safe. The only things that cannot go in the dishwasher are the nutribullet motor base and blades.

Along with smoothies, the nutribullet also makes delicious blended soups, dressings, desserts, all-natural ice creams, nut butters, dips and more. See our recipes for ideas!

Each nutribullet has its own blade and cup that is designed to specifically for each model. Using the wrong parts and accessories can lead to increased wear and tear. See compatible accessories here.

Nutri Ninja Pro Blender Review

I love Ninja kitchen appliances. This is why I get so excited every time I get to test one. I just think that all of their products look great, the craftsmanship is wonderful and they really took the time to think about what would make the product better. There is no difference when it comes to the performance of the Nutri Ninja Pro Blender. This little kitchen blender was incredibly powerful for its size and got the job done (or the smoothie made, I should say) every time.

What’s in the Box?

The Nutri Ninja Pro arrived at my house sooner than I expected it would. It was not in another shipping box but rather just delivered in its original product box. I really like how they package ninja blenders. The Nutri Ninja Blender was very well packaged between two specially formed pieces of styrofoam that fit snugly in the box. All of the pieces were also individually wrapped and protected. Since the Blender was so well packaged, there was no way it would be damaged during the shipping process.

Inside the box was the motor base for the Nutri Ninja Blender with the attached cord. There was also a large 24-ounce container and a smaller 16-ounce container. The extractor blade can fit both of these containers with ease. In addition, two flip-top travel lids fit both containers to take your drink in the car or on the go.

Additionally, there was a pamphlet that showed you how to operate the Nutri Ninja Blender and how to clean it properly by hand or in the dishwasher. There was an owner's guide that went over the basics such as safety precautions, hazardous situations, routine maintenance, and the basic overview of the product.

Included with the blender was a booklet that was filled with 75 simple but delicious recipes to get you started using the blender. The booklet had plenty of information on how to make different smoothies, sauces, dips, soups, and infused teas and waters. Each recipe has a vibrantly colored photo of the dish.

How Does It Look/Feel/Sit?

The Nutri Ninja Pro Blender is a very solid machine and has been constructed with quality materials to ensure it will last a lifetime. The motor base is jet black with a couple of areas that have shiny chrome-plated icons. The base is a bit wider than other smoothie blenders which makes the kitchen appliance that much sturdier. On the bottom of the motor base, there are rubber feet that act like suction cups when placed on the countertop. Even if the surface is wet, the feet will stick to the surface it was placed on to keep it from moving around while operational. The overall balance of the blender is terrific specifically because of the motor base.

The containers that sit on the motor base are made of thick and clear plastic. When the container is placed on top of the motor base it looks modern and elegant.

You can tell when you pull the product out of the box that it has some weight to it and was constructed well. There should be no worry of the blender falling over, becoming unbalanced, or moving around while in use.

How Easy is it to Set Up?

The Nutri Ninja Blender was very easy to set up if you even call it "setting up" the appliance. Once everything was removed from the packaging, it was ready to go. All you needed to do was place ingredients in the container, screw on the extractor blade and place it in the motor base.

Once the container was in the motor base, you only need to apply pressure to the top of the container to start the blending process. One drawback to this blender compared to other models I've reviewed (like the Nutribullet 900), is you have to constantly apply pressure to the top of the container to continue blending the ingredients. Once you let up, the blending will stop. Depending on your personal sensitivities, this is either a pain in the butt or a helpful safety precaution and built-in pulse feature.

Once the ingredients have been blended, all you need to do is remove the container from the motor base and remove the extractor blade "lid". At this point, you could drink straight out of the container or pour it into a glass. Additionally, you can place one of the flip-top travel lids on the container and drink it from there. This allows you to carry the drink in a bag without the contents spilling everywhere.

Test #1: Smoothie

The first test I wanted to run with the Nutri Ninja Pro Blender was the smoothie test. A good blender - even a low-priced one like this - should be able to create a luscious and silky smoothie. This is especially true for small personal blenders like this, which are designed specifically for making smoothies.

The Nutri Ninja Blender requires the addition of liquid along with all the other ingredients. They also recommend that you use frozen fruits when making smoothies, but that doesn't mean you can't use fresh fruits as well. When you add frozen fruit to the container it just means you won't have to add ice which could thin out the smoothie and make it watery.

For my test, I decided to go with a mix of fresh and frozen fruits with a couple of veggies.

I started by adding some frozen strawberries and frozen mangoes. Then I added one whole banana, fresh pineapple, and some organic kale with the ribs removed. I decided to go with coconut water for the liquid for a couple of reasons. Since there was already a thickening agent, the banana, I didn't really need to add any yogurt or dairy products to get that desired thickness. Plus, coconut water is very subtle and won't overpower the flavors of the rest of the ingredients. Using coconut water also lowers the number of calories in the smoothie as opposed to yogurt, milk, or juice.

I placed all the ingredients in the container and screwed them onto the extractor blade. I set the container in the motor base and applied pressure to the top of the container to start the blending process. All of the ingredients blended up right away in a matter of seconds. I could have been done at that point but I kept blending for another 30 seconds just to make sure I had any seeds or pulpy bits smoothified.

When I removed the container from the motor base and took off the extractor blade, the smoothie was creamy and almost frothy because it was blended so well. I poured the smoothie into a glass and garnished it with some fruit. Boom! Instant breakfast in a matter of minutes. The smoothie was ready for me to take on the go or to sit down and actually enjoy the morning.

Since I was able to create a delicious breakfast smoothie in just a few minutes, I was able to get more done in the morning without having to make breakfast. The Nutri Ninja Pro Blender is a huge time saver in my life. I was amazed at how fast and efficient the blender was.

Test #2: Vegetable Puree

One of my favorite dishes to make is lasagna. After enough years in restaurant kitchens, I'm pretty good at it. I make the pasta from scratch, grow my own basil, garlic, and tomatoes as well as make my own ricotta from cream.

I also like to make my own marinara sauce from tomatoes we grow in our garden. Usually, when I make the tomato puree for my sauce I just use a food processor, which is a lot of work to pull out and a lot of pieces to put together. Not to mention all the parts I have to wash later. I thought that today, instead, this marinara sauce would be a perfect test of the pureeing capabilities of the Nutri Ninja.

I quartered a few large red tomatoes and placed them in the container. I screwed on the extractor lid, placed it in the motor base, and applied pressure to the container to start the blending process. In literally seconds - like three or four seconds - all of the tomatoes were completely blended and smooth. I am not kidding. The Nutri Ninja Blender zipped right through those tomatoes like it had a hatred for them. I did not need to continue to blend them anymore because they were a perfect consistency.

In all reality, I think I really just pulse blended the tomatoes for a few seconds. But since they were so soft and full of juice, they blended very quickly. If you plan on making a vegetable puree, make sure the veggies you are blending have a liquid with them to help the blender get the job done without working too hard. But if you're blending juicy and soft veggies like tomatoes, you will be just fine without the addition of a liquid.

Test #3: Green Leafy Vegetables

The last test I decided to run was how well the Nutri Ninja Personal blender performed when blending leafy greens like kale, collard greens, or spinach. Some blenders have a hard time blending ingredients like these because of the stringy and fibrous structure of the plant. Other ingredients that fall into this "hard to blend" category are celery, carrots, and beets. These ingredients are very fibrous but also very dense. The blender may be able to grind up some of these veggies, but getting them to a smooth consistency is a whole other ballgame.

For this test, I did not cook any of the vegetables beforehand. I wanted to try blending them all raw. I decided to go with all fresh ingredients, and not frozen. Frozen veggies may blend easier since most of them have been precooked. I also added some tap water to the container to help with the blending process. Other than that, it was sure to be a trial for the Ninja Nutri blender.

The ingredients I chose to blend were carrots, cucumber, celery, ginger root, and kale greens with the ribs still on the leaves. I also decided to use the smaller 16-ounce container to blend them with some cold water. Since the container is smaller, it leaves less room for the veggies to escape the extractor blade during the blending process. In a large pitcher blender, since there is more volume capacity, some veggies will never pass over or through the blades to get broken down. This is another reason why I love this smaller container with the Ninja Nutri Blender.

I placed the ingredients in the container and screwed them on the extractor blade. I placed the container in the motor base and applied pressure to the top of the container to being the blending process. After about 10 seconds of blending, only some of the vegetables were blended and the rest were stuck in the container. So I removed the container from the motor base and shook it up a bit. They all started to blend well.

It did take a bit more time for the veggies to blend. After about 30 seconds they were all blended but they were not smooth enough. This was the kind of consistency I usually get with a large pitcher blender or a food processor. I continued to blend them for another 30 seconds and during that time I could start to see them break down and become smooth. I removed the extractor blade at that point and poured the green drink into a glass and to my surprise, the Nutri Ninja had completely pulverized all of the vegetables. If you were counting, that's 1 minute and 10 seconds.

This blender truly is a miracle machine. It was able to not only break down the dense, stringy, and fibrous vegetables but also managed to turn them into an incredibly smooth drink. Once again, the Ninja Nutri Blender prevailed over everything I threw in it.

Can you Crush Ice in a Nutri Ninja Pro?

It is recommended not to use the Nutri Ninja Pro Blender for crushing ice or any frozen fruits without the addition of a liquid. The owner's manual clearly states that if you try to crush ice in the Nutri Ninja Pro, it will overheat and possibly damage the motor base of the unit permanently. Most bullet style blenders come with the same warning.

I understand that you can't blend frozen ingredients without fluid in the container, but I wondered about other ingredients that are not frozen. Some ingredients like fresh fruits and vegetables contain a good amount of water within them. At the same time, things like tomatoes, oranges, and pineapple contain a lot of water.

Against all recommendations, I did try blending fruits and vegetables that don't have a lot of water... and they blended up just fine. If you are wanting to use the Nutri Ninja Blender as a food processor, it definitely can work, as long as the water in the ingredients you are adding will compensate for the lack of water in the container.

About the Pulse Feature

The Nutri Ninja Pro Blender has just one blending speed. The only way for the blender to work is when the container is placed in the motor base and pressure is applied to the top of the container.

Since you need to apply pressure to the top of the container for the blender to work, and when you release it stops, this is basically how the pulse feature works. You can press the top of the container a series of times to "pulse blend" the ingredients. Even though it is not a button with a pulse function, you can absolutely still "pulse" with this blender.

How Loud is It?

Remember, the Nutri Ninja Pro Blender has one speed. That means it also has one noise level. If that noise level is too much for you, there's no way to silence it, if you plan on actually using the blender.

Fortunately, the Nutri Ninja Pro isn't any louder than other bullet blenders we've tested.

I used an app on my tablet that recorded the level of the sound it made while in use. The app measures noise in decibels. Most blenders will range anywhere between 80-110 decibels while blending at high speed. The Nutri Ninja Blender comes in at 89 decibels. This was the same volume as the Nutribullet Pro and the Ninja Pro 1000 watt blender.

How Easy Is It To Clean?

The Nutri Ninja Blender was very easy to clean. Everything included is dishwasher safe.

Sometimes if you don't rinse the excess blended ingredients out of the containers and blades after you use them, the food will stick to the sides and be a real pain to get clean. As long as you rinse everything first, you should be ok placing them in the dishwasher. If you do have some food caked on the sides of the containers and other accessories, just soak them in hot water with dish soap before you scrub them out. If you placed them in the dishwasher like this, chances are the dishes will not come out completely clean even though they are still dishwasher safe.

The Nutri Ninja Blender and all the accessories are to be placed in the top rack of the dishwasher only. They do not recommend you place them in the lower compartment because the heat levels of the water could melt or warp the plastic. With all of that being said, it is just going to be best to rinse the pieces with warm water after using them and then just wash and dry them by hand. There are plenty of crevices and they will get cleaner with a good hand wash.

The Nutri Ninja Pro Blender is marvelous and there really isn't a lot to change about the appliance as a whole.

One of the things I would like to change is how the appliance operates. I guess this would be a major factor when it comes to the overall operation of the blender, but I think it is just my preference. Since you have to press down on the container for the blender to operate, I feel like it should be a little more simple. I get that this is a safety feature of the appliance, but I don't want to sit there and hold my hand on the blender for it to run. It really doesn't take long to blend ingredients in the Nutri Ninja Pro Blender, but it can be kind of annoying.

The other thing isn't really a change, more of an addition. The Nutri Ninja Pro does come with two flip-top travel lids for taking your drink on the go, but I would like other accessories to attach to the cup as well. Maybe like a lip ring with or without a handle to just drink at home while I relax. If you were to add something that made the drink chunky, it would be difficult to drink through the hole on the flip-top lids. If you remove that and just drink from the container, then you will be putting your lips on the ridges of the screw-on surface.

Lastly, I would like to address the size of the containers. I like that there are two different sizes of containers. One is 24 ounces and the other is 16 ounces. But they are still the same shape at the bottom and top of the container to fit the extraction blade. When the travel lids are on these containers, they do not fit any cup holders. This is especially frustrating if I want to take my smoothie in the car. They are just too big to fit regular and oversized cup holders. You would think that if they were giving you a travel lid, they would have thought about the cup holders as well.

What’s the Warranty?

The Nutri Ninja Pro Blender comes with a standard 1-year limited warranty. This warranty protects the kitchen appliance from damages or defects during the packaging or delivery process. It does not protect the product in the event the consumer damages the blender while in use or for any other reason.

The warranty is good for up to one year from the original purchase date. To redeem the warranty, the original purchaser needs to return the product with all the packaging intact and they must have the original receipt. To find out more information about the warranty on this product please visit the Ninja website here.

Verdict

Taking everything into consideration, the Nutri Ninja Pro Blender is now one of my favorite appliances. I practically use it every day now. It pretty much replaced my blender, spice grinder, and my small food processor.

NUTRI NINJA PROFESSIONAL BL450 Blender 900 Watts

As a professional chef, I use a lot of these appliances every day and there is no doubt I will be getting one or two of these for my restaurant as well. If you are looking for a quality blender for making smoothies, sauces, and milkshakes then I highly recommend buying one of these to help you out. Plus, they really are not all that expensive when compared to other models. Ninja slashed the price but didn't skimp on the construction or the quality of materials used. The performance of this personal blender is top-notch in my book.

Vs Nutribullet Pro 900

The Nutribullet Pro 900 is actually a really great blender that is just as powerful as the Nutri Ninja blender. These blenders are alike in so many ways that it's hard to make a comparison. They have the same amount of wattage that powers the motor, they both come with two containers and an extractor blade and they are about the same size. There are only a couple of things that are different about them. Either one of these blenders would be a great deal.

The Nutribullet 900 Pro wins out on the accessories. It comes with two containers just like the Nutri Ninja but they are both a whopping 32 ounces in volume. It also comes with two lip rings, two lip rings with handles, and two flip-top travel lids. These make it very easy to drink out of the blending container or to even store in the fridge for later.

The Nutribullet also comes with a flyer that gives you access to the Nutribullet app for free. The app will give you hundreds of recipes, tips, and tricks for using the Nutribullet.

Also included with the Nutribullet 900 Pro is a hardcover book loaded with instructions on how to use the Nutribullet, healthy eating lifestyle choices, tips and tricks to creating your own recipes, and helpful advice. The book is also filled with wonderful recipes for smoothies, soups, and sauces that will help you to lead a healthier lifestyle with a nutrient-rich diet.

But the main difference between these two blenders is how they operate. Instead of applying pressure to the top of the container, the Nutribullet container locks into place and begins blending. You don't have to stand there with your hand on it.

Since they're so close in price, we think the Nutribullet is a better buy, given that it has more accessories and the "hands-free" operation.

Vs Nutri Ninja 1000 watt

The Nutri Ninja 1000 watt Blender is basically the same as the 900-watt product except with a bit of an upgrade in several areas. Its motor base has an extra 100 watts of power and is controlled by push buttons instead of applying pressure to the top of the container. They look the same but the 1000 watt blender is about 2 inches taller.

The Nutri Ninja 1000 watt blender also comes with two containers, one smaller and one larger just like the other Ninja blender. However, the smaller container is 2 ounces larger than the 900-watt product. Other than that, they both come with all the same accessories and instruction booklets. Everything is also dishwasher safe and easy to clean.

It has the equivalent of a "preset program" with it's Auto IQ function. You turn that on, and it runs for a set time at a set speed so that when you return, your smoothie or puree is done. This is handy if you value the consistency of... your consistency of smoothie. It means you get the same outcome every time, even if you walk away and forget how long the blender was running for.

Given that they're so close in price and everything else about these two blenders is equal, we think the 1000 watt Nutri Ninja is probably better value for money for most people.

Vs Nutri Ninja 1200 watt

The Nutri Ninja 1200 watt Blender is really quite a powerful blender with plenty of accessories that blows all the competition out of the water. It can literally do anything and everything. It does cost two or three times as much as any of these other personal blenders but that is because it is an actual normal-sized blender with more capabilities.

The obvious difference in this model is the actual size of the pitcher. It can hold up to 72 ounces and also comes with three separate containers that can be used as cups or storing containers. The Nutri ninja cups also come with three flip-top lids that make it easy to take with you on the go or in the car. everything is dishwasher safe and very easy to clean as well. The blender does not come in a compact size like the other blenders featured in this article so storing the appliance may be tricky. It also may take up some counter space and with how tall it is, you may find it hard to fit under overhead cabinets in some cases.

The blender is also large enough and powerful enough to crush ice. The blender will easily crush ice and turn it into snow which is perfect for mixed drinks, cocktails, and snow cones for the kids. This powerful blender will blend any time of ingredient including frozen fruits, seeds, fresh whole fruits, and ice. With the power the Ninja blender 1200 has, it is very little it can not do.

The Preset button features make it easy to create smoothies and drinks without playing a guessing game of how long the ingredients need to be blended. It also has plenty of other speed variations to play with which the other blenders do not have either. The blender has some solid weight to the base and also has rubber feet on the bottom that act like suction cups to stick to any wet or dry surface. This keeps the machine in place while blending and focuses on the overall balance.

The inner spindle has a triple blade action which will tear, rip and pulverize ingredients with ease. The pitcher also needs to be locked into place for it to operate and the lid also needs to be locked onto the pitcher as well. If these two factors are not taken care of, this blender will not work which is an excellent safety measure. The lid also has an opening to add liquids to drinks or to be used to make dressings and other emulsifications.

This blender is truly a work of art in the way it looks and performs all tasks at hand. There is really not much to find at fault. As long as you're fine with the extra height, and the extra spend, this will be a dream to have in the kitchen. If you have a larger family or own a bar or restaurant, the 1200 watt Ninja blender may be the perfect fit for you.

What else is important to consider?

Whether you're puréing, making a milkshake, crushing ice, nuts or herbs: the immersion blender does this and more. It is smaller and lighter than a stationary one, but may not be inferior to it either in terms of functions or in terms of power. About how to choose the right immersion blender for the home, what characteristics are important and what it can be like in our article.

Compare power

The power of the device can be from 140 to 1500 watts. The more powerful it is, the faster the knives rotate, the more solid or thick products can be crushed.

If you are planning to buy an immersion blender, how to choose the power will depend on the dishes you are going to cook with it. If the device is needed mainly for mixing or grinding loose products, more power is not needed. For normal use, 500-700 watts will be enough, and it will be a light compact device that does not work too noisily, does not take up much storage space. If you will often use the immersion blender for working with dense or hard foods, beating at high speed, crushing ice or nuts, it is better to choose a power reserve (from 800-900 W or more). By the way, powerful is not always noisy. For example, the Polaris PHB 1384 Silent is quiet thanks to SilentPRO technology.

What about the body material?

To choose a good immersion blender, you need to pay attention to the materials of the following parts:

Main body can be made of steel or plastic. Sometimes materials are combined. Steel is considered more durable, reliable, but plastic also lasts quite a long time. It is good if there is an additional rubberized coating on the case. So, for Polaris PHB 0826AL, PHB 0523, Polaris PHB 0852 and other models, the Soft Touch coating is used, which protects against slipping and helps to securely hold the device.

The immersion part is almost always metal. Containers and glasses are usually made of transparent plastic. The base of the container can be rubberized, and this is convenient: it slips less. For example, the Polaris PHB 1399AL Titan has a non-slip base for both the container and the measuring cup.

Is there a speed control?

All blenders are speed adjustable. For simple models, these are 2-3 modes, in devices that are more complicated, up to 30. Usually only 3-4 speeds are used. Dense products are best handled at low speed. The higher it is, the faster the device copes with its task, and the more uniform the resulting mass will be.

When deciding which hand blender to use for your home, consider how the speed is adjusted:

If there are few speeds, they are adjusted in steps, and usually each of them has a separate button. With smooth adjustment, you can change the speed using a rotary part (usually the upper part of the body, a separate disk or lever). Sometimes you can adjust the speed by changing the force of pressing the start button.

Some companies manufacture pulse and turbo blenders.

In pulse mode, the knives rotate as fast as possible, then stop. This is useful when working with very hard products. In turbo mode, the knives rotate at maximum speed.

Continuous run time

One of the most important characteristics to consider when choosing an immersion blender is the run time. When the device works for a long time without stopping, it can overheat and break. Polaris uses special PROtect+ technology to protect blender motors from overheating and overloading. This makes them more durable and reliable.

Checking the contents

The following accessories may be included with the blender:

Pay attention to the shape and quality of the knives. The main knife usually has slightly curved blades so that it can both chop and mix. To keep knives sharp longer, Polaris PHB 1481AL TITAN, Polaris PHB 1036AL Titan and some other models use special 4 PRO TITAN steel with titanium coating.

How to choose an immersion blender for the home by the number of attachments, everything is simple: the more there are, the more functional the appliance.
