CHLORAMINE

Many municipalities are moving from chlorine to chloramine. Chloramine is listed by the EPA as a hazardous substance. It causes rapid deterioration of infrastructure which can cause lead and other metals to leech into the water. Chloramine is also a respiratory irritant. It stays in the water distribution system longer than chlorine and can react with organic material to create hazardous byproducts. It is much harder to remove chloramine than chlorine.

AQUAPHOR filter cartridges contain activated coconut carbon, which, like a sponge, absorbs harmful impurities (chlorine, petroleum products, pesticides and other dissolved pollutants).

1. Chlorine filter for hard water and protection against all impurities

Choose reverse osmosis filters - it's the best protection against chlorine and any other impurities. A special membrane allows only water to pass through, and pollutants (including hardness salts, due to which scale appears in the kettle) go into the drain. Chlorine, organochlorine and larger undissolved impurities are removed in the first stage of purification using carbon cartridges.

2. Safe water without boiling

Mechanical methods of water purification: types of filters

Mechanical water purification is carried out using various filters. The choice of one or another type depends on the characteristics of the water at the facility.

There are special filters for water purification from iron - reagent and non-reagent. The former use potassium permanganate as a reagent, thanks to which water is purified from highly concentrated dissolved iron, hydrogen sulfide, and manganese. Chemicalless filters are automatic systems capable of purifying water, depending on the type of filler, from a whole range of impurities.

There are also mesh filters and ammo. Mesh are subdivided into washing and non-flushing. Both those and others purify the water right at the time of its supply. But if washing can be equipped with a washing machine, then non-washing ones have to be cleaned of contamination manually. The degree of purification of mesh filters is from 20 to 500 microns. Cartridge filters for water use a cartridge placed in a plastic or steel housing as a filter element. Thanks to them, the highest quality cleaning from mechanical impurities is provided - from 30 to 0.5 microns.

Another type of mechanical water filter - high-speed pressure - resembles a column. The water passing through the filter element is purified from various kinds of mechanical impurities. Therefore, high-speed pressure filters are considered the most versatile. The only catch is to prepare the site for installation. In order for the pressure filter to function, it needs enough space. In addition, a drainage line must also be installed, capable of providing a regeneration mode.

In addition to the above water filters, filters for water purification from iron, removal of hardness salts from water, as well as disinfection, sorption and reverse osmosis filters can be installed at private and industrial water supply facilities.

As you can see, mechanical methods of water purification are very diverse. The only thing they have in common is a first-class output.
