Cons

Aside from throwing stars and stealth assassinations, the word 'Ninja' these days is probably best known as the name of the kitchen appliance brand and its range of “bullet” blenders, designed for making juices and smoothies. But the Ninja Kitchen brand makes a variety of appliances including its all-singing, all-dancing Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker.

The Ninja Foodi offers eight settings, from air frying to baking, roasting, sauteéing, grilling, slow cooking, pressure cooking and a keep-warm function in a single machine. In fact, it's one of the best Instant Pot alternatives on the market.

Due to the fact it covers so many bases, the Ninja Foodi has a large 6L pot, with a 3.2L removable frying basket, as well as a grilling rack and two lids - one fitted with a vent for pressure and slow cooking, and the other for everything else. It additionally has an hour-long timer and offers the highest temperature of any air fryer we’ve tested, at 210° Celsius.

It is, however, also one of the more expensive multi-cookers on the market, making it a harder sell than some of its competition.

Price and availability

The Ninja Foodi Multi-Cooker is available now, priced with an RRP of £199 / $249 – though it's also regularly discounted, with an Amazon Prime Day offer knocking $100 off that price in the US in the summer of 2019.

On the face of things, with its expansive feature set, that price tag looks reasonable. But do note that there are many similar products on the market that offer similar feature sets at lower price tags. The Instant Pot Duo V2, for instance, may lack the air-frying function, but covers off many of the other features, at a much lower price point.

As you’d expect from an appliance that is effectively a mini oven, the Ninja Foodi is a monster of a machine taking up a significant chunk of space on a worktop and looking industrial (read: ugly) with its grey and black design.

Its bulky lid opens to the side on a hinge meaning it can’t be fully opened while tucked underneath a kitchen cupboard and this, coupled with its overall size, makes it nigh-on impossible to comfortably fit anywhere where space is at a premium.

Settings are controlled via a panel on the front situated below a digital display. The time and temperature controls sit either side of this display. During cooking, the time ticks down on this screen which gives you an at-a-glance way to keep track of timings.

Below the display is your choice of cooking options: Pressure, Steam, Slow Cook, Sear/Sauté, Air Fry, Bake/Roast and Grill. The Keep Warm button is bottom left, the On button is bottom right and a large Start/Stop button sits in the center. Although these controls are clearly labelled, they do add up to quite a complex machine and as there are no pre-programmed settings, like you find on many other air fryers for example. Every task requires you to manually select the cooking type, time and temperature, and this all takes a little getting used to.

A major plus to having such a variety of settings, and the fact it’s such an imposing machine, is that it’s perfect for feeding large families and party guests. It offers a huge capacity, unprecedented versatility and it’s also, surprisingly, quiet.

Performance

Over the course of two months, we put each of the Ninja Foodi’s settings through their paces, from air frying chips and chicken to baking cakes and roasting potatoes; from making a slow-cooked sausage stew and Chilli Con Carne, to steaming vegetables and pressure-cooking risotto.

Airfrying

When it came to air frying chicken, the Ninja Foodi did a stand-up job. The skin was crispy and the meat was succulent. When it came to air frying chips, however, the Ninja Foodi’s performance fell short. Manually setting the Foodi on the same temperature and for the same time as we cook homemade chips in our fan oven, we were disappointed when they came out overcooked. The skin was too crispy, almost rock-hard, while very little potato was left on the inside. We’ve since experimented with these settings and while the results have been better, they don’t match up to the way the Foodi cooked the chicken, or the way most of the Ninja Foodi’s air fryer rivals cook chips.

Baking/roasting

During our tests, we twice roasted potatoes using the Bake/Roast function. Once from frozen, using shop-bought roasties, and once from scratch using fresh potatoes. Unlike its disappointing performance when air frying chips, both batches of potatoes were delicious. The smaller batch of the frozen potatoes, given the fact their skins are pre-cooked, bordered slightly on being overly crispy, but the batch generally had fluffy centers inside crunchy cases. Meanwhile, the fresh potatoes were the best homemade roast potatoes we’ve ever made with a perfect combination of taste and texture. Not something we say lightly.

Using the same Bake/Roast function, we used the Ninja Foodi to bake chocolate muffins on the grilling rack, followed by a fudge cake in its cooking pot. Both recipes were from packets and tasted as we expected, as they do when cooked in a regular oven.

The downside to cooking muffins this way is that there is only so much space on the grilling rack compared to a normal oven, so your batches will be smaller. The plus side for making cakes in the Foodi is that you can mix everything inside the multi-cooker’s non-stick pot before baking. No need for multiple mixing bowls, baking paper or lining tins with grease, not to mention the fact this cuts down on washing up. That said, if you need the cake to be a specific size, you could still place a cake tin with the cake mixture inside the Foodi and bake in the same way as you would in an oven.

Searing/Sauteeing and Slow Cooking

Onto searing, and slow cooking. Many recipes require you to fry ingredients, such as onions for curries or chunks of beef for stews, in a frying pan before placing them in a slow cooker. Not the Ninja Foodi. You can switch from searing or sauteéing food to slow cooking at the touch of a button. Simply add the rest of your ingredients, hit Slow Cook and select your cooking time. It is true you can effectively “fry” ingredients in regular slow cookers but they never get hot enough to really achieve that desired caramelised color and if you’re a slow-cooker fan, this particular Ninja Foodi feature is a game changer.

Once the slow cooking timer ends, the Foodi’s 30-minute Keep Warm function kicks in to stop your meal from spoiling. In fact, at the end of any cooking function you can use the Keep Warm button to maintain a low, steady temperature until you’re ready to serve. If you don’t, the Ninja Foodi will simply beep and turn off. Both this Keep Warm option, and the automatic shut off feature, give the Ninja Foodi a significant edge over most regular ovens.

So far, so good.

These features give the Ninja Foodi far greater versatility, and represent greater value for money than buying separate slow cookers, air fryers and mini ovens. Having so many settings can prove confusing, especially when you’re trying to establish which setting best suits what you’re trying to cook, but on the whole if you approach most meals cooked in the Ninja Foodi in the same way you would a regular oven, it’s straightforward. What’s not straightforward, however, is pressure cooking.

Pressure cooking

If you’ve never used a pressure cooker before, it’s worth watching a video or two on how the process works. This is because it takes everything you know about cooking and throws it out of the window.

Firstly, it significantly messes with timings. A small chicken usually takes an hour and 10 minutes to cook in our oven. In the Ninja Foodi’s pressure cooker, it took just 15 minutes. That’s a fully roasted chicken in a quarter of an hour.

Similarly, cake bites that normally take 20 minutes were on the edge of being overdone in six, and a bacon and pea risotto we typically slave over for 40 minutes was done in less than 10. Ideal for meals in a hurry, less so when trying to work out how long it will take such meals to quickly become ruined.

Secondly, you need to factor in how long it takes for the Ninja Foodi’s large pot to reach the desired pressure, and then how long you need to release that pressure for at the end of cooking. If you release pressure too slowly you end up overcooking your food. Too quickly, and you run the risk of undercooking it. Recipes will advise on each of these timings but it took a fair amount of trial and error to achieve the results we wanted, plus, unless you’re using recipes written specifically for the Ninja Foodi, you’ll need to experiment.

Then there’s the additional lid. The Ninja Foodi’s standard Tendercrisp lid is permanently attached via a hinge, but its pressure cooking lid can be fitted or removed as needed. It’s not particularly difficult to use – it has arrows that help you line up where it needs to go – but it is a faff having to switch it in and out. Plus, it’s far from small so storing it is a pain.

Once we’d hit on the ideal timings of each pressure-cooked recipe, the quality of food was great and the time-saving benefits soon outweighed any hassle we’d experienced getting to that point. We’ve attempted risottos in slow cookers and pressure cookers in the past and they’ve never lived up to those we’ve made on a hob, until Ninja Foodi’s risotto. The rice tasted as if it had been given the usual amount of time to absorb the water and flavor and had a nice bite to it, without being undercooked or chalky. Similarly, given the fast cooking times, we had expected the bacon and peas to be soft and lacking in texture, but they weren’t. They both had bite and tasted fresh.

Grilling

Whereas many of the other Ninja Foodi features give your regular oven a run for its money, its grilling function does not. It’s a good addition to have, but it’s far less versatile and less effective, than using a standard grill. Firstly, because of the Foodi’s size you’ll struggle to get more than two chicken breasts comfortably on the rack. The height of the rack is also limiting. It’s not possible to place the grilled food closer, or further away from the grill element.

Steaming

The cooking option we used the least, but is worth mentioning, is the option to steam food in the Foodi. You need the grilling rack, or a similar accessory, to place the ingredients on and then steam is created by putting water beneath it. It works fine. As you’d expect but unlike with the majority of other settings, there’s nothing about steaming in the Foodi that sets it apart from traditional methods. The only point we will make is that it is an easy way to make a bain-marie.

Verdict

Given the high price tag, its industrial size and multi-purpose use, the Ninja Foodi is not for the faint hearted. Firstly, it’s far from cheap, but it does negate the need to buy a separate slow cooker, pressure cooker and air fryer. Secondly, its large size is smaller than having all three on your kitchen top. If you have the money and the space, it’s a great kitchen appliance to have in your arsenal.

Each of its functions work well on their own. Some perform better than others and some are easier to use than others, yet it’s having them all in one place that truly sets the Ninja Foodi apart from anything we’ve ever used. From roasting a chicken to being able to quickly switch to the air frying function to crisp up its skin; from being able to sear ingredients before switching to slow cooking; the Ninja Foodi has the potential to replace your regular oven. For at least the majority of meals.

Since we’ve been testing the Foodi, we’ve only used our hob a handful of times, and even then it was to make poached eggs or omelettes. We can’t remember the last time we didn’t use the Foodi for at least one element of our meals and that speaks volumes to just how great it is.

Ninja Foodi Multicooker Review - Wildly Helpful Tips for Choosing Electronics

The Ninja name may be best known for its range of “bullet” blenders designed for making juices and smoothies, but the Ninja Kitchen brand makes a variety of household appliances, including its singing and Ninja Foodi dancing multicooker..

Ninja Foodi offers eight settings from air frying to baking, frying, grilling, grilling, slow cooking, pressure cooking and keeping warm in one machine..

Because it covers so many bases, Ninja Foodi has a large 6L pot, a 3.2L removable fry basket, as well as a grill stand and two lids - one with an air vent for quick and easy slow cooking, and another for everything else. It also has an hour timer and offers the highest temperature of any deep fryer we've tested at 210°C.

However, it is also one of the most expensive multicookers on the market, making it harder to sell than some of its competitors..

Pricing and Availability

The Ninja Foodi Slow Cooker is now available for an RRP of £199 / $249 – though it is also regularly discounted, with an Amazon Prime Day deal knocking out $100 at that price in the summer of 2019.

At first glance , with its extensive feature set, this price tag looks reasonable. But note that there are many similar products on the market that offer similar feature sets at lower prices. For example, the Instant Pot Duo V2 may lack the air frying feature, but covers many other features at a much lower price..

design

Like you’d expect from an appliance that is essentially a mini-oven, the Ninja Foodi is a monster of a machine that takes up a lot of countertop space and looks industrial (read: ugly) with a grey-black design.

Its bulky lid opens to the side on a hinge, which means it can't be fully opened when tucked under a kitchen cabinet, and this, combined with its overall size, makes it impossible to comfortably fit anywhere where space is limited.

Settings are controlled via the front panel located below the digital display. Time and temperature controls are located on either side of this display. During cooking, the time on this screen is reduced, giving you an easy way to keep track of the time.

Below the display you can select the cooking options: "Pressure", "Steam", "Slow Cook", "Fry/Fry", "Air Roast", "Bake/Fry" and "Grill". The Keep Warm button is on the bottom left, the On button is on the bottom right, and the large Start/Stop button is in the center. While these controls are clearly labeled, they are quite a complex machine, and because there are no pre-programmed settings like on many other deep fryers, for example. Introducing

For two months, we put each of Ninja Foodi's tweaks through their paces, from air-fried fried potatoes and fried potatoes; from cooking slow-braised sausage and chili con carne, to boiling vegetables and pressure cooking risotto.

Airfrying

When it came to frying chicken, Ninja Foodi did a standing job. The skin was crispy and the meat juicy. When it came to frying chips, Ninja Foodi's performance fell short. Manually setting the Foodi to the same temperature and at the same time as we cook the homemade chips in our oven, we were disappointed when they came out overcooked. The skin was too crispy, almost hard, while there was very little potato left inside. We’ve since experimented with these settings, and while the results have been better, they don’t match how foodies cooked chicken, or how most foodie ninjas and deep fryer competitors cook chips.

Baking/roasting

During our tests, we fried potatoes twice using the baking/roasting function. Once from frozen, using store-bought fried potatoes, and once from scratch, using fresh potatoes. In contrast to their disappointing air frying performance, both batches of potatoes were delicious. A smaller batch of frozen potatoes, given the fact that their skins are pre-cooked, borders slightly on overly crispy, but the batch usually has fluffy centers inside the crispy boxes. Meanwhile, the fresh potatoes were the best homemade fried potatoes we’ve ever made with the perfect combination of flavor and texture. Not that we speak lightly.

Using the same bake/bake function, we used Ninja Foodi to bake chocolate cupcakes on a grill rack and then baked a cake in his pan. Both recipes came from packets and tasted as we would expect, just like when cooked in a regular oven.

The disadvantage of making cakes in this case is that there is too much space on the grill rack compared to a conventional oven, so your batches will be smaller. The upside of making cakes at Foodi is that you can mix everything inside the slow cooker’s non-stick pot before baking. No need to use multiple mixing bowls, baking paper, or grease-lined liners, not to mention it cuts down on dishwashing time. However, if you need the pie to be a certain size, you could still place a pie dish with the pie mix inside the Foodi and bake just like you would in an oven.0003

Firing / steaming and slow cooking

Firing and slow cooking. Many recipes call for you to fry ingredients, such as onions for a curry or cuts of beef for a stew, in a skillet before putting them in the slow cooker. Not a ninja fudi. You can switch from sautéing or browning food to slow cooking at the touch of a button. Just add the rest of the ingredients, press Slow Cook and choose your cooking time. It's true, you can effectively "roast" the ingredients in regular slow cookers, but they never get hot enough to really achieve the desired caramelized color, and if you're a slow cooker, this Ninja Foodi feature is a game-changer.0003

When the slow cooking timer ends, Foodi's 30-minute Keep Warm function is activated to prevent food from spoiling. In fact, at the end of any cooking function, you can use the Keep Warm button to keep it at a low, steady temperature until you’re ready to serve. If you hope you don't, Ninja Foodie will just beep and turn off. Both this Keep Warm option and the auto-off feature give the Ninja Foodi a significant advantage over most conventional ovens..

Everything is going well.

These features give the Ninja Foodi much more versatility and more value for money than buying separate multicookers, fryers and mini ovens. Having a lot of settings can be confusing, especially when you're trying to set which setting works best for what you're trying to cook, but in general, if you're approaching most dishes cooked in Ninja Foodi, so are , as in a conventional oven,'It's simple. What’s not just pressure cooking, though.

Pressure Cooking

If you've never used a pressure cooker before, it's worth watching a video or two on how the process works. That's because he takes everything you know about cooking and throws it out the window. Small chicken usually takes an hour and 10 minutes to cook in our oven. In Ninja Foody's Pressure Cooker, it only took 15 minutes. What’s with fully fried chicken in a quarter of an hour.

Similarly, pie bites that normally take 20 minutes were on the verge of overcooking at six, and the bacon and pea risotto, which we usually slave to for 40 minutes, was done in less than 10. Ideal for eating in a hurry less when trying to figure out how long it would take for such dishes to go bust quickly.

Second, you need to consider how long it takes for Ninja Foodi's Big Pot to reach your desired pressure, and then how long you need to release that pressure at the end of cooking. If you release pressure too slowly, you overcook your food. Too fast and you risk undercooking it. The recipes will give advice on each of those timings, but it took quite a bit of trial and error to get the desired results, plus if you're using recipes written specifically for Ninja Foodi, you'll need to experiment.

That is, there's an additional cover. Ninja Foody's standard Tendercrisp lid is permanently attached via a hinge, but its pressure cooking lid can be installed or removed as needed. It's not particularly difficult to use - it has arrows to help you line up in the direction you want - but it's a favorite when it comes to toggling it on and off. Plus it’s far from small, so keeping it is a pain.

Once upon a time we’re surprised at the perfect cooking times of each pressure cooked recipe, the quality of the food was excellent and the time saving benefits soon outweighed all the hassle we’ve experienced getting to this point. We've tried risotto in slow cookers and pressure cookers in the past and they've never lived up to the ones we've made on the stove until Ninja Fudi'risotto Rice tasted as if it had been given the usual amount of time. to absorb water and flavor, and it tasted good without being undercooked or chalky. Likewise, given the quick cooking times, we expected the bacon and peas to be bland and lack texture, but they weren't. They both had a snack and tasted the fresh ones.

Roast

While many of Ninja Foodi's other features make your regular oven earn its money, the grill feature does not. It’s a nice addition, but it’s far less versatile and less efficient than using a standard grill. Firstly, due to Foody’s size, I’ll go out of my way to make sure the rack can accommodate more than two chicken breasts comfortably. The stand height is also limited. It’s not possible to place grilled food closer or farther from the grill element..

Steam

The cooking option we used the least, but worth mentioning, is Foodi's steam cooking option. You will need a grill grate or similar accessory to place the ingredients, and then steam is generated under the steam. Works fine. As you’d expect, but unlike most other settings, there’s nothing about steaming at Foodi that sets it apart from traditional methods. The only remark we will make is that this is an easy way to make a batch.

court order

Considering the high price, its industrial size and multipurpose use, Ninja Foodi is not for the faint of heart. First, it’s far from cheap, but it eliminates the need to buy a separate slow cooker, pressure cooker, and air fryer. Secondly, its large size is smaller than having all three in your kitchen. If you have the money and the space, this is a great kitchen appliance to have in your arsenal.

Each of its functions works well on its own. Some of them work better than others and some are easier to use than others, but it's they have it all in one place that really sets Ninja Foodi apart from anything we've ever used. From frying a chicken to being able to quickly switch to an air frying function to cleanse its skin; from the ability to sear ingredients to slow cooking; Ninja Foodi can replace a conventional oven. At least for most dishes.

Since we’ve been testing Foodi, we’ve only used our stove a few times, and even then it made poached eggs or omelettes. We can't remember the last time we didn't use Foodi for at least one element of our meal, and that goes to show how great it is.

cool gadgets for every day

Not so long ago we talked about cleaning equipment from the American brand Shark, and today it's time to get acquainted with kitchen gadgets from the sub-brand of the company - Ninja. This review presents a blender with a heating function, a convection grill, a juicer and a slow cooker with a pressure cooker and air grill function. And believe me, these devices have something to surprise. Reading time - 8 minutes. 91 Power 1000 W Bowl size 1.7 l Optional Heating function, 10 automatic programs, display, lid with possibility to add ingredients

Can the stand blender be combined with the heating function? Ninja Foodi Soup Maker & Blender proves by its example that it is possible, and this solution greatly expands the capabilities of a seemingly ordinary chopper.

Combining a blender with a soup cooker allows you to not only grind food (including nuts and ice), make smoothies, milkshakes and desserts, but also cook soups (both puree and texture soups), preserves and jams, sauces, fondue and much more other. If earlier, in order to cook cream soup, it was necessary to separately prepare the products and only then grind them into a puree, in the Ninja blender this process is not only combined, but also automated. The user only needs to load the products and turn on the appropriate cooking mode, and then the device will do everything by itself.

Equipment and design

The soup blender is presented by Ninja in a rather laconic and versatile design that will organically fit into any kitchen. The combination of black plastic, metal panels and a glass bowl looks restrained on the one hand, and quite stylish on the other.

Ninja Foodi Soup Maker&Blender consists of two elements: base with motor and control panel and glass bowl with handle, double lid and built-in heating element. The body of the bowl is made of thick heat-resistant glass, making the bowl quite weighty. Its total volume is 1.7 liters, but for cooking, the manufacturer recommends adding products to the appropriate mark: for cold dishes - 1.6 liters, for hot ones - 1.4 liters. Inside the bowl you can see a measuring scale for products, stainless steel chopping knives, as well as a heating panel that has a non-stick coating.

The bowl has a double lid. Tightness is ensured by a dense elastic band, which is located around the perimeter of the lid. The base of the lid has a hole so that you can add food directly during cooking. But if this is not necessary, the hole is tightly closed with an additional small lid.

The power of the motor at the base of the blender is 1000W and the heating element is 800W. The motor also has overheating protection. Here, on the base, there is a control panel with a timer, and there is a latch on the back for convenient cable storage. The device is quite weighty (total weight is 5. 6 kg), and the legs of the base are rubberized, thanks to which the device stands securely and does not “ride” on the table during operation.

The kit includes a special pusher that eliminates the possibility of injury when laying food, a brush for cleaning the bowl and a recipe book with which you can cook a wide variety of dishes. The recipe book will help you learn how the device works and later it will be more convenient to create your own.

Control and functionality

Ninja Foodi Soup Maker&Blender has button control. The device can operate both using manual settings and intelligent automatic programs.

On the top left is the on/off button and the timer is in the center. To the right of it is the cleaning mode button, and behind it you can see two indicators (Heat On and Keep Warm), the first of which turns on when the blender is in heating mode, and the second when switching to keep warm mode.

The automatic programs are divided into 3 groups: grinding, food preparation and cooking. For grinding and cooking, 4 modes are provided. Smoothie (Smoothie), Dessert (Dessert), Frozen Drink (Cold drinks) and Milkshake (Milkshake) are grinding and whipping modes, and Smooth Soup (Cream soup), Chunky Soup (Texture soup), Jam (Jam) and Sauce (Sauce) are programs of thermal processing of products.

There are also modes for preparing food before further cooking. This includes the Chop function (chopping) and Saute (saute or pre-roasting food). These functions come in handy for complex recipes. For example, simmer onions and vegetables before making a sauce in a blender.

Manual settings allow you to work with the device the way you want. The bottom panel is responsible for them. On the left, you can select the desired blender mode - Blend (Mixing / Grinding) or Cook (Cooking). On the right are three buttons that are responsible for the intensity of grinding or heating - Low (low speed or cooking temperature), Medium (medium) or High (high). For grinding products there is also a pulse mode (Pulse).

Quick clean and care

Some parts of the soup blender (food pusher and lid) are dishwasher safe. But the bowl, of course, cannot be washed in a dishwasher or under water - it contains a heating element. To quickly clean the inside of the bowl, a special cleaning mode is provided. To do this, pour 700 ml of water into the bowl, add a couple of drops of detergent and turn on the Clean mode. After that, it remains only to drain the soapy water and rinse the inside of the bowl with clean water - everything is ready. And outside, both the bowl and the base can be simply wiped with a damp cloth.

Specifications Features
Power 1760 W
Bowl size 7.5 l
Optional Convector and heating element built into the lid, pressure cooker lid included, 9 automatic programs, display

Today you won't surprise anyone with a multicooker. These household appliances are firmly planted in our kitchens, and we are accustomed to using them on a daily basis to prepare a wide variety of dishes - from soups and stir-fries to homemade yogurt and pastries. But, thanks to the built-in convector, the Ninja OP500EU multicooker has gone even further and its range of applications is even wider.

Design, construction and equipment

The Ninja OP500EU multi-cooker is a fairly massive kitchen appliance that can be used for cooking a wide variety of dishes. The device is designed in a typical design for Ninja gadgets - black plastic and metallized elements. Looks very nice.

Ninja OP500EU can be called the champion among multicookers in terms of capacity. While most models offer us 5-liter bowls for cooking (and the nominal volume is less than 1-1.5 liters), the Ninja multicooker has a bowl volume of 7.5 liters. That is, in such a bowl you can easily bake a whole bird or cook dinner for a large family. This is what many housewives lack in multicookers.

The increased volume of the bowl and the heavy hinged lid, which houses the convector and the heating element, require a reliable design. Therefore, the multicooker has a reinforced base with handles and rubberized legs, and the lid with the convector is fixed and fixed on the bracket. The total weight of the multicooker is just over 11 kg, so you don’t have to worry that the device may accidentally turn over - the design is well thought out and very stable (even with the lid open).

The control panel is located on the front of the device. It consists of a rotary control, touch buttons and a display showing the current cooking mode. We'll talk more about how it works.

Atypical for Ninja OP500EU and equipment. In addition to the slow cooker itself with a non-stick bowl, the set includes a second pressure cooker lid that is used for pressure cooking, a non-stick air fryer grid, two double-tier cooking racks and a recipe book. All removable elements and accessories, including the bowl, can be washed in the dishwasher.

Functionality

Technically, the Ninja OP500EU combines several devices at once: a multicooker, a pressure cooker and an air grill. And as a result, the Ninja multicooker can also replace the oven, steamer, slow cooker, yogurt maker, deep fryer, and even the vegetable dryer. In addition, thanks to the heating element and convector built into the main lid, uniform heating of the dish is ensured from all sides. And this means that the range of applications for such a kitchen appliance is almost unlimited.

The power of the appliance is 1760 W. Using the device as a classic multicooker, you can cook excellent first courses, side dishes, meat and fish dishes, desserts and pastries, yogurt, seasonal preparations, steamed food, etc. You can’t list everything. The pressure cooker mode (read - cooking under pressure) is useful for quick preparation of various dishes and "long" side dishes. For example, legumes and those types of cereals that normally take hours to cook. And, finally, the airfryer functions will allow you to cook your favorite dishes with an appetizing crust and with minimal use of oil. For example, pies and pastries, poultry, french fries and other goodies.

Another nice bonus is the dryer mode for fruits and vegetables. To do this, the multicooker has a special mode with a low temperature and a long operating time, with which it is convenient to make preparations of greens, berries, mushrooms, vegetables and fruits. A great alternative to traditional canning. To increase the useful area for drying, a pair of racks will come in handy, which will allow you to dry twice as many products at a time.

Functions and controls

As mentioned above, the control panel is located on the front of the multicooker and consists of a display, touch buttons and a rotary control with an integrated button. The device has 9operating modes:

To start cooking in the Ninja multicooker, you need to put food in the bowl and press the power button in the lower right corner. Then, pressing the Function button, use the rotary control to select one of the 9cooking modes. Adjusting the temperature and cooking time is the same. On the touch panel, select the Temp (temperature) and Time (time) buttons and set the desired settings using the knob. When all the settings are made, we press the regulator (it is also the on/off button) and wait for the dish to be ready.

Options Features
Power 1760 W
Bowl size 4.5 l
Optional Convector and heating element integrated in the lid, 6 automatic programs, display, digital probe

Another interesting multifunctional kitchen gadget from Ninja is the Foodi Health Grill & Air Fryer XL. As in most of the equipment presented in this review, the device is a kind of hybrid and combines a classic grill and an air grill.

Design and construction

The Ninja Foodi Health Grill & Air Fryer XL is inspired by Ninja's signature style. The combination of black plastic and stainless steel elements, as well as the original domed shape of the grill, create a modern and somewhat futuristic design of the device. The mass of the device was just over 10 kg, and the dimensions were 27 × 39 × 41 cm. The grill is quite roomy inside, and you can easily cook a shank or a whole bird in it.

The grill consists of two elements: a base with a heating element and a control panel, and a lid with an additional heating element and a convector. There is a handle on the lid for easy opening, and rubberized feet prevent slipping on the work surface.

The grill has an interesting and useful addition - a digital probe, for storage of which there is a special device assembly compartment. With it, it is convenient to monitor the degree of preparation of the dish inside with an accuracy of up to a degree, which allows you to cook steaks and many other dishes with an ideal degree of roasting.

In addition to the probe and the grill itself, the kit includes a 4.5 l main cooking bowl, a deep-frying basket, a grill grate, a removable splash guard, a cleaning brush and, of course, a recipe book. All cooking accessories (bowl, basket and grill grate) are non-stick, easy to clean and dishwasher safe.

Functionality

The main task of any home grill is, of course, the preparation of grilled dishes: juicy steaks, fish and seafood, deli meats and sausages, vegetable side dishes, homemade shawarma, burgers and many other favorite goodies. In Ninja Foodi Health Grill&Air Fryer XL, you can cook grilled dishes in two ways: using automatic programs or using a digital probe.

In the first case, it is enough to select the desired program and set the temperature mode (Low, Medium, High or Max) and cooking time, load the products after preheating the device and wait for the end of cooking sound signal. In the second, connect the probe, place it horizontally in the thickest piece of the product (for example, a steak), select the desired degree of doneness (Rare, Medium Rare, Medium, Medium Well or Well) and the type of product, and then press the Start button. The cooking time will be selected automatically and the appliance will turn off when the temperature inside the product reaches the desired level. Notably, the Ninja grill is equipped with a temperature-controlled grate and cooling zone, as well as splash protection, which effectively reduces the amount of smoke and splashes during cooking.

But not a single grill. Ninja Foodi Health Grill&Air Fryer XL can be used for frying food, for homemade pastries and desserts, cooking in an air grill or deep fryer (with a crispy crust with minimal oil), defrosting and heating food, as well as for drying fruits, berries, herbs and mushrooms. By analogy with a slow cooker, you can dry food in two tiers by placing a basket on top of the main bowl, thereby increasing the usable area.

Control

Ninja Foodi Health Grill&Air Fryer XL is represented by a touch panel with a display. The grill has 6 preset cooking modes:

The power button is on the left side of the control panel. The display is located in the center of the panel, and below it are the cooking modes. Setting the temperature and cooking time is carried out using the arrows to the left (temperature) and to the right of the display (time). When connecting the probe, you can select the type of product and the degree of roasting, and the device will set the exact cooking time and temperature on its own.

Ninja JC100EU Juicer

Ninja JC100EU Juicer

BUY

Specification Features
Power 150 W
Capacity 710 ml juice container, 470 ml pulp container
Optional Reverse, drip-stop, direct juice system

Against the background of Ninja's multifunctional hybrid technology (the same air grill or soup blender), the Ninja JC100EU juicer seems to be a simpler kitchen device. Although the functionality of the auger juicer is not so wide, it masterfully copes with its main “duties”.

Design and equipment

The body of the juicer is mainly made of black matte plastic, but the central part (the one inside which the screw is located) is made of transparent, so you can observe the operation of the device. Ninja's corporate identity is visible in the design - a concise, but at the same time quite spectacular design, provided not only by materials, but also by the shape of the device. The design of the juicer is well thought out, and it takes no more than a minute to assemble or disassemble it. You can cope with the assembly of this “constructor” even without instructions, but it is highly desirable to familiarize yourself with it before starting work.

Motor power is 150 W and the weight of the device is 3.76 kg. In addition to the main elements of the juicer, the Ninja JC100EU kit includes 3 filters with which you can adjust the amount of pulp in the finished juice, a container for collecting juice (710 ml) and dumping pulp (470 ml), a pusher for vegetables and fruits, a brush for cleaning and a prescription book. In addition to recipes for making various smoothies and juices, the book has recommendations for using the pomace, which is formed after receiving the juice. All removable parts and accessories are traditionally dishwasher safe.

Functionality and control

The auger juicer is the most efficient type of juicer on the market, it is they who have the highest efficiency. Ninja JC100EU is no exception, of course, and with its help you can get up to 75% juice from vegetables and fruits. The Ninja juicer allows you to process a large number of products at a time, while the engine has an overload protection that will save the engine if you accidentally overdid it with the “extraction” of juice. An important rule is not to use frozen fruits, berries or ice for making juices and smoothies, and also to remove stones from fruits like plums, cherries or mangoes and remove the peel from citrus fruits. This will ensure the normal operation of the mechanism.

The Ninja JC100EU control consists of two buttons located on the back of the juicer - the Start / Stop button and the reverse button. If you just need to press the power button to start and stop the juicer, then to activate the reverse mode, you need to hold down the reverse button while the device is running. A beep will sound and the auger will start moving in the opposite direction. Releasing the reverse button will return the auger to normal operation.

A nice bonus of the Ninja JC100EU juicer is that it works quite quietly. Many electric juicers are difficult to use in the morning, as getting a glass of juice is fraught with waking up not only all households, but also neighbors. The Ninja juicer does not have this problem, it really can be called one of the quietest juicers.

Impressions and conclusions about Ninja appliances

Ninja kitchen appliances impress with their reliability, thoughtful designs, versatility, as well as the original, but at the same time extremely successful “compatibility of the incompatible”. Before getting acquainted with the brand's devices, it was difficult for me to even imagine that a heating function can be added to a stationary blender, and a convector can be added to a multicooker, and this will make a device out of an electric pan that can replace almost all household appliances in the kitchen, including an oven.
