Mid-Century Furniture Manufacturers - Modern and Vintage Mid-Century Furniture Designs
The design classification of furniture and fixtures is mainly based on the period the design was first adopted, christened or made widely available. Of course, there are countless examples of furniture design, categorized by material and country of origin, but in no other industry is there such a widespread tendency to refer to a given style of product as a "period of origin" as is the case in the furniture industry.
Mid-Century Furniture is a style that was first coined in the United States, but like everything else American in that era, the replicas were heavily influenced by Scandinavian, German and generally European design. Typically, mid-century furniture design refers to idiosyncratic style elements from just after World War II. However, you can also get away with furniture styles from a couple of decades ago. We will return to this later.
Anyway, mid-century furniture is characterized by sleek, geometrical design, thin frames, lack of clutter/carvings & a number of other characteristics that we list below. Mid-century furniture has its roots in the industrial revolution, which paved the way for use of modern materials in everyday furniture, see our industrial furniture collection here
At FurnitureRoots, a specialist and boutique furniture company, we manufacture and supply a wide range of mid-century furniture, both vintage and contemporary.

VINTAGE MIDDLE AGE FURNITURE
As we mentioned earlier, mid-century furniture is largely based on the industrial furniture revolution and traces of the Victorian and provincial eras. While mid-century furniture predominantly refers to mid-20th century styles, 19The 30s and 1940s were a transition from the industrial age and the fusion of vintage style furniture to a modern design philosophy.
As a result, the design of the furniture, which is still sleek, thin, geometric and slightly curvaceous, with decorative carvings with a slightly coarser finish and decorative carvings to a certain extent, is interchangeably referred to as mid-century vintage furniture.
FurnitureRoots specializes in mid-century vintage style furniture that not only looks amazing, but adds warmth to your home, living room, bedroom, or even your business.
As a specialist in vintage furniture reproduction that spans our expertise in vintage furniture making, French provincial furniture making and even modern and contemporary Indian furniture, we have extensive experience in dealing with various styles of furniture that are both labor and capital intensive. also intense.
Check out some of our furniture designs inspired by Art Deco and Mid-Century Art Nouveau.
SOME VINTAGE DESIGNS OF THE MIDDLE AGE
MODERN MIDDLE AGE FURNITURE
Highly influenced by the Scandinavian school of thought, mid-century modern furniture is minimalist, made from a combination of both traditional and modern materials, straight lines, heavy curves and a variety of random designs.
These furniture styles are dominated by soft colors and most of the materials are hung on a very thin frame. A popular theory indicates that the reason for this was because the mid-century modern furniture movement became popular just after World War II and the Great Depression.
In those days, thick furniture meant much more raw materials. The extravagant vintage-style furniture that preceded this style meant many more man-hours, expensive metals to use, and higher wages. These factors made the old styles obsolete and too expensive to continue.
Today's modern and contemporary furniture styles, which include brushed stainless steel, marble cladding, etc., are reminiscent of mid-century furniture in many ways. Ironically, the design philosophy that dominated most of the 20th century and established itself as one of the most successful centuries in human history was started as a cost-cutting measure.
The mid-centry love story continues today; modern, elegant yet durable furniture has gained wide acceptance among many people.
MIDDLE MIDDLE AGE FURNITURE
When carefully compared, the difference between mid century architecture and furniture design compared to modern 21st century design is negligible. The only noticeable aspect of modern furniture is the use of brighter elements and shades.
In addition, contemporary furniture requires heavy use of materials that are only available in the 21st century, including plywood/plywood, engineered wood, stainless steel, aluminum, and a range of different materials that look good and pair well with deep colors.
At FurnitureRoots we started our journey with furniture finishing and FF&E projects for the hospitality and commercial catering industries. Both of these can be extremely complex in terms of design and theme furniture requirements, but thanks to our persistent efforts and good luck, the manufacturer from Jodhpur, Rajasthan With extensive access to skilled labor, access to raw materials and logistics infrastructure, we have so far been successful our FF&E customers.
This worked wonders for our reputation in the market and soon we were getting bulk orders for our themed and period furniture from both retailers and specialty furniture wholesalers.
Since then, we have been constantly experimenting with innovations and trying our work towards new product development to create glamorous pieces of furniture such as mid-century furniture. antique reproduction furniture, African style furniture and so on.
Interior and living room furniture trends 2020-2021
Widespread use of social media makes it quick and easy to discover international trends and styles in interior design. Living room decor, furniture, home textiles and accessories are updated every year. Everyone is interested in looking ahead - repairs and furnishings require a voluminous budget and time, but the desire to be in trend fuels curiosity. The task is made easier by the designers who showed a series of concepts for the living room 2020-2021 at the summer furniture exhibitions.
FURNITURE REDESIGN MID-20 CENTURY
Purpose and space efficiency are high priorities for the living room, but fashion and style give the room visual freshness and relevance.
The living room is not only for display - it is a place for comfortable living in a cozy environment.
Professional decorators are wary of instant trends in classic interiors. But modern trends turn the hall of an ordinary apartment into a field for endless play with amazing pieces of furniture, corner structures, color effects and textures.
The ideal space raises several questions:
- How to combine trendy furniture and relaxation?
- How to get affordable comfort in a trendy space?
- How to achieve individuality with mass-produced furniture?
Mixing innovative interior finishes and vintage furniture from the 20th century, living rooms get an exclusive touch. It is not necessary to use one schema. The current style offers many options in the classic segment, creates new design trends that are more related to furniture, its shape, color, functionality, texture. There are some simple but very effective ways to make your living room unique!
MODERN STYLE - ALWAYS TOPICAL!
Perhaps the style that is called "modern" is the most versatile, "flexible", concealing many opportunities for changing and updating the interior. It originated in the US and Europe after World War II and embodied practicality and conciseness. In it, everything was subordinated to the main thing - functionality. Mass-market mass-produced furniture prevailed in the design. The home furnishings of that period corresponded to the demands of the American and European middle and working class in urban apartments. Over time, the design and decor of the sets have changed, and designers have created several elements for furniture production (wardrobes, walls, pencil cases, folding sofas, etc.), which still fit well into living rooms and other rooms.
Among the memorable and recognizable features of the style are straight lines that give a clean, minimalist aesthetic. In the living rooms there are cabinets and modular walls with a fairly simple geometry, and next to them there are sofas with a straight horizon of the back, straight or slightly rounded edges. Moreover, upholstered furniture, as a rule, occupies the main place in the room, the rest of the situation is usually an additional background.
TREND DIRECTION 2021 Experts consider modern style to be the most effective way to integrate furniture into an urban interior.
- Bright spot. A neutral palette rules the contemporary room, from classic black and white to various shades of grey, brown and beige. This is an incredibly soothing décor, but the living room can feel cold, dull, and uninviting. To liven up the interior, you can add bright upholstery to the sofa or armchairs or a few bright accessories.

- Furniture with soft and round shapes. Asymmetry and modern style are the hits of 2020. But the soft and flowing edges of cabinets and sofas brought back the comfort of the 1970s to living rooms. Any elements of these years are welcome in interior design, but retro is not the main style for furniture.
- Metal parts. The fashionable perspective includes all kinds of metals for decorating furniture - these are gold, brass, bronze, steel, nickel. The most common use is for cabinet frames. However, some prefer to use metal as a finishing material or fittings.

Natural materials, wood, wickerwork take a strong place in living rooms. In addition to wood, furniture or decors with cane or rattan textures are recommended, which perfectly emphasize style and create comfort.

Along with a calm range for upholstery, floral patterns of the East are recommended, a combination of large Paisley patterns with small prints.
