The KitchenAid Artisan 5KSM150 Mixer has been virtually unchanged since the 1930s. At the beginning of 2017, KitchenAid proudly introduced 3 new ranges: 5KSM3311x , 5KSM125 and 5KSM175 . After the announcement of a new range of mixers for some time, few people understood what was fundamentally different in them. That is why the first 2-3 months after the start of sales, few people bought new models for themselves. Everyone was still hunting for the legendary series 5KSM150 , which had 37 different colors.

5KSM125 and 5KSM175: similarities and differences

Let's say right away that the most basic differences lie in the configuration of the new models.

KitchenAid Artisan 5KSM150 series mixers were supplied with one 4.8L bowl, one bowl guard, one whisk, one spatula and one hook. It was believed that this was all that a pastry chef might need. If the master decided to expand the boundaries of his capabilities, then the remaining accessories could be purchased separately. nine0013

The KitchenAid Artisan 5KSM175 has been added with an extra silicone hard rib attachment (5KFE5T) and the long awaited second 2.9L bowl. Now Kitchen Aid has the opportunity to knead the dough for the cake and the cream almost simultaneously. You just need to change the bowl on the mixer. However, the protective rim only fits the 4.8L bowl. On a small bowl, he hurts.

Now for the sad part, we think: KitchenAid Artisan 5KSM125 Series Mixers (and there were only 4 of them, but more on that later) were left without a protective cover on the bowl, which is designed to protect the environment from splashes and particles of the mixed mass. Now, those who purchase kitchen machines of this series can purchase the rim separately. It does not come with a mixer anymore.

In my opinion, in the entire KitchenAid line, this color is the most spectacular, the most successful and versatile: it fits perfectly into any interior, fits perfectly into any kitchen style. All parts of the mixer are made of die-cast metal covered with durable glossy enamel. Due to the material, the mixer is quite heavy, but it seems to me that in relation to such equipment, weight somehow inspires more thoughts about reliability and durability. And now, of course, about the attachments that are included. In my case, the most commonly used attachment is whisk , since I really like to cook a variety of desserts, mousses and meringues. Thanks to its complex design, combined with the high power of the engine, the whisk does its job perfectly: it whips whites very quickly to persistent peaks, it easily copes with whipping meringues and various mousses.
