50 Elegant Home Design Ideas From Interior Decorators

Whether you're a fan of mid-century charm or love the Victorian vibe, creating an elegant home is the ultimate goal for homeowners and renters alike. However, when it comes to creating a cohesive, classy space, something as simple as a single misplaced accent piece or a mismatched throw pillow pattern can ruin the look you're trying to cultivate.

To help you create the chic space you crave, we've called on top interior design experts to provide their advice on creating a show-stopping elegant home. From minor changes to major projects, these design tips can help you have the home of your dreams in no time.

You don't need to completely renovate your kitchen to make it more sophisticated. Michael Valente, managing partner of Renovation Sells, recommends "painting quality wood cabinets a soft white or neutral color [to] completely transform the space."

Shutterstock/Berkay Demirkan

That hardware your cabinets came with isn't exactly screaming "elegance. " Fortunately, all it takes is a minor swap to fix that. "Changing out the bar pulls or knobs on your kitchen cabinets is an easy and inexpensive way to make your kitchen look more like a custom high-end space," says designer Rachel Street of Philly Revival on the DIY Network. She recommends upgrading to brushed gold accents, and adding a matching faucet for a cohesive look.

While adding wallpaper to a full bathroom may be a tricky proposition due to mold, wallpapering your powder room is an easy way to upgrade it. "Use a fun pattern in a powder room to make a neutral space more dramatic," says Street.

If you tend to be indecisive, removable wallpaper is a great option, she notes.

Shutterstock/Rawit.wsm

That plain, frameless bathroom mirror that came with your home isn't exactly a stylish statement piece. Street says you can "simply switch out your bathroom mirrors for something more custom and unique," like something with an ornate frame or inlaid details. And remember: "With mirrors, bigger is almost always better!" she says.

Shutterstock

While it may seem like a small detail, a little crown molding can instantly change the feel of any room, adding that elegant touch you crave. "Crown molding makes a bold but elegant statement in any larger room, such as the kitchen and dining room, by drawing eyes upward and instilling a sense of grandeur," says Southern California house flipper Caleb Liu, owner of House Simply Sold.

Shutterstock

A little wainscoting is all it takes to transform a plain room into an elegant space. "Wainscoting is a fantastic addition to visually break up a long stretch of boring drywall," says Liu.

Simply remove your baseboards and do some careful measuring before getting started on this DIY project.

Shutterstock

Color makes a big difference when it comes to your walls—and opting for a deep blue hue might be the perfect way to tie things together. "If you're ready to upgrade your living space from mismatched to elegant, consider using navy as either the main focal point or as a gorgeous accent color," says Jessica Harris, interior designer at Living Spaces.

Shutterstock/Artazum

A little contrasting paint can make a huge difference when it comes to making your home look more elegant and sophisticated. "Switching out builder basic white paint for rich colors with bright white trim is [a] way to add elegance to a space," says Street.

Shutterstock

That said, you don't necessarily need to go bold with the color on your walls to create an elegant space. "For a tranquil ambiance, you want white or a tinted white, which enables everything else in the space to stand out," says interior designer Vicente Wolf.

Shutterstock

There's nothing that can make your home look disheveled faster than objects that seem out of place. "Think of your home as a little black dress—not necessarily formal, but elegant in its clear vision," says Wolf. He explains that the ideal room is "free of clutter and extraneous objects."

Shutterstock/Photographee.eu

Make your home feel larger and more elegant in one fell swoop by investing in a hallway mirror. "There is no easier way to make an entryway feel open and relaxed, but also pulled-together and elegant, than with a crisp, stunning mirror," says Harris.

Place it across from a large window or next to a vase of flowers for a particularly chic vignette.

Shutterstock

Some statement overhead lighting can make all the difference in how elegant a room looks and feels.

"Choose a dramatic light fixture for your dining room, living room, or bedroom," says Street. "Add a beautiful chandelier in the living room or install interesting pendants over your kitchen island," she suggests.

Shutterstock

Looking for an easy way to turn a mundane room into something marvelous? "Add wall sconces on either side of your bed or bathroom vanity," says Street. "Statement light fixtures can add interest and elegance to an otherwise neutral room."

Shutterstock/Pakpoom Phummee

If you're eager to make your home more elegant, try swapping out your modern table lamps for ones that evoke a bygone era. Javier Fernandez, founder of Transitional Designs, suggests "incorporating two porcelain table lamps" with brass accents to "bring the feeling of luxury to your room."

Shutterstock/NavinTar

Upgrading your window treatments is as simple as investing in some pleated drapes. Fernandez recommends adding pinch-pleated drapes to lend some sophistication to your space. "Add a beautiful trim and then you can go from plain to extraordinary," he says.

Shutterstock/BCFC

Uniformity does not necessarily make for an elegant bedroom. "The trick to making your bed look like one of those super inviting beds you see in catalogues is to add different layers and height," says Street.

Her recommendation? "Start with a crisp set of sheets, add a blanket and a fluffy comforter—folded back to see the different layers—then add pillows of different sizes."

Shutterstock/Iglenas

Adding a little height to your bed frame can instantly elevate the look your bedroom. "A higher headboard will add some drama and elegance to the space," says Street.

Shutterstock/WorldWide

Another key element for any elegant bedroom is a sparsely decorated dresser. "Try to resist the urge to display every trinket, knick-knack, or souvenir you can find—no matter how pretty it may be," says Harris.

She suggests choosing two or three accent pieces to display instead.

Shutterstock/Daria Minaeva

While you may not want tchotchkes cluttering up every surface in your home, a few well-curated collections can add elegance to your space. "A small personal collection of items can be put together on a mirror or silver tray to give them more prominence and instant elegance," says Nisha MacNeil, design manager of Kerr Construction & Design.

Shutterstock

Maintaining a cohesive aesthetic from room to room in your home can make the whole space seem more stylish.

"There should be a flow, a purpose, a direction from the exterior through to the rooms," says MacNeil. "For instance, if the home has a traditional Colonial exterior, then that style should remain the focus for the interior. "

Shutterstock

A few antiques could be the key to creating the sophisticated aesthetic you're going for. "Invest in quality pieces that have history," says MacNeil. "This could mean obtaining an heirloom china cabinet or a beautiful Persian rug."

Shutterstock/Photographee.eu

Straight lines don't always scream sophistication—but a curved sofa or armchair certainly will. "A simple way to make a room feel elegant is by choosing furniture with graceful silhouettes," says interior designer Diana Weinstein. "Curved silhouettes in furniture always look elegant and elevated."

Shutterstock/oceanfishing

Do away with the fabrics that graze the floor and opt for a few pieces of furniture with visible—and preferably eye-catching—feet. "When selecting upholstery, I select styles with exposed feet that are slender as opposed to ones that are chunky [or] block-like," says Weinstein.

Shutterstock/Photographee.eu

Cotton and leather have their place, but choosing sofas made of alternative fabrics can make your living room look even more stylish. "Luxe fabrics… such as silk and velvet add dimension to a room," notes Weinstein.

When it comes to your furniture, natural materials are another great way to go. "Reclaimed woods and high-quality metals and stones call to mind the serene beauty of nature and add lasting allure to any home," says interior designer Sarah Barnard of Sarah Barnard Design.

Shutterstock/DenisProduction.com

Opting for glossy furniture instead of matte finishes can make a world of difference when it comes to how sophisticated your home appears. "Metallic and high gloss wood finishes really give an elegant and elevated vibe," says Weinstein.

Shutterstock/Javani LLC

And if you're looking to make your space look luxe, opt for darker wood pieces. "While light woods are excellent for their brightening and calming effect, the lush, earthy shades of walnut, ebony, and oak feel historic and rich for a timeless and dignified environment," says Barnard.

Shutterstock/Followtheflow

Think a perfectly matched living room set screams sophistication? Think again. "A quick and easy fix is to replace the throw pillows that automatically come with a purchased sofa or sectional for more creative throw pillows," says Bo Keuleers, interior design manager at MVA Home.

Shutterstock

Competing patterns and prints aren't doing much for your home's aesthetic. Instead, try mixing materials. "When we are working on an elegant scheme, we keep patterns and prints to a minimum and focus on the textures and sheens of the items we are bringing into the space," says Weinstein.

Shutterstock/Denys R

Want to spruce up your sofa? A textured throw is the perfect way to transform it. "A comfortable yet chic cashmere throw strewn on the back of a sofa is a great accent piece," says designer Christina Nielsen of Christina Nielsen Design.

Shutterstock

A thoughtfully curated stack of books is another great way to make your home look more sophisticated in an instant. "This adds texture and density to a room without needing to spend a lot," says Nielsen, who recommends Assouline books for their visual appeal.

iStock

Candles aren't just for date night—they're also a great way to make your home more elegant overall. "Le Labo, Diptyque, and Jo Malone all have the most beautiful packaging that work in any room, and the candlelight with dim overhead lighting completely transforms a space," says Nielsen.

Shutterstock/Kowit Phatipreechakul

A few plants can infuse any room with some much-needed style. "Invest in a fiddle leaf fig tree for long-lasting effect in the corner of a room, [or] proteas or an orchid on a kitchen counter to make the room pop," says Nielsen.

Shutterstock/Anastasiia Chepinska

Faux plants have come a long way since the heyday of silk flowers in the '80s. "[Place] faux plants on a case piece or small trees in the corner of a room to add color and life," suggests Keuleers.

Shutterstock

A single wall painted in a standout color can instantly liven up any room. "I would typically recommend going with a color that is darker to include contrast to the room or a fun vibrant color," says Keuleers.

Shutterstock/Photographee.eu

Want to make an even bolder statement? "Another alternative is utilizing a patterned wallpaper," says Keuleers. Just remember to choose patterns that won't compete with the furniture in your space.

Shutterstock

You don't need a home full of Matisses and Renoirs to make your home look like a million bucks. Nielsen says you can purchase work from emerging artists to start a collection without breaking the bank. "No matter your budget, artwork with personal meaning is a staple… and an accent that will never go out of style," she says.

Shutterstock/New Africa

While a collection of smaller pieces of art can create a fun focal point in a room, larger pieces can completely transform it. "Grand works of art bring welcome drama and style and can make a room feel expansive," says Barnard. She explains that well-placed art "contributes peace and refinement to any space. "

Shutterstock/J.Croese

Your table is the centerpiece of your dining room, so invest in one that's got some interesting details. According to Nielsen, your dining room table "is the perfect chance to do something different."

A Scandinavian wood table in particular is "sleek yet durable," she says, and can easily transition from dining room to office furniture.

Shutterstock/AndjeiV

If you're not in love with your current dining room chairs, before buying a new set, consider reupholstering them in a luxe toile or striped fabric. "Reupholstery is a simple way to change the look of your room," says Nielsen, noting Christopher Moore's elegant prints can provide a nice change of pace.

Shutterstock/Javani LLC

Move over, fluffy carpet—sisal is the resilient and elegant material your floors need. According to Nielsen, a sisal rug is a "timeless investment."

"The texture works in any kind of aesthetic, and it is also very resistant to serious staining, which is an issue with most carpets that prove more delicate than durable," she says.

Shutterstock/takayuki

Want an easy way to make your space look more elegant? Opt for carpet and wall paint in the same hue. "Match your carpet to your walls for a dramatic, monochrome effect," says Kellie Sirna, co-founder and principal of Studio 11 Design.

If you want an edgier look, "pair a sleek carpet with textured walls for an unexpected aesthetic," she suggests.

Shutterstock/Zvarych

Family photos and art aren't the only items that can create a gorgeous gallery wall. "For those who are more eclectic and love to collect unique pieces, you can create a gallery wall of mirrors accumulated over time," says Keuleers.ae0fcc31ae342fd3a1346ebb1f342fcb

Playing with scale and shape or creating a grid of uniform mirrors are both good choices to add appeal and elegance to your space.

Shutterstock/Photographee.eu

While '70s faux wood paneling isn't exactly sophisticated, creating a real wood accent wall "can add some serious elegance and wow factor, especially on a fireplace wall," says Nicole Gittens, principal designer at New Visions Interiors and Events.

According to Gittens, painting the paneling can give it an even more sophisticated feel.

iStock

That dingy wall-to-wall carpeting isn't doing your home any favors. "Hardwood immediately updates and improves the look of every room," says Marty Basher, a design expert with Modular Closets. And if that's too expensive, imitation wood flooring can similarly transform your space on a budget.

Shutterstock/ben bryant

Just a few shiny pieces throughout your space—think frames, vases, and pillows with a metallic finish—can completely change it for the better. "Using gold or silver metallics strategically throughout a space will lift its elegance," says Basher.

Shutterstock/Oleg Krugliak

Even the tiniest details can add tons of elegance to your home. "Simply switching up your light switches… can already do a lot toward increasing the elegant appeal of your home," says Amira Johnson, interior designer with Emerald Doors.

Shutterstock/karamysh

It's not just interior finishes that can make or break your house's aesthetic. A new front door can completely transform your home, too. "A new front door adds character to your home, creates a great first impression for visitors, and, as an important bonus, it helps your home save energy by preventing hot and cold air transference," says Eamon Lynch, director of warranty service at Power Home Remodeling.

Lynch recommends upgrading to a low-maintenance steel or fiberglass door with a windowed surround to allow more natural light inside.

Shutterstock/Hannamariah

Want another way to boost your home's curb appeal? Try adding some shutters. "Shutters are important design elements that help distinguish your home," says Lynch, who notes that this is an easy project to complete with little more than a drill and a ladder.

Shutterstock/Jason Finn

Your home's elegant factor starts from the outside in. And another place you can up your chic factor is with your front porch style. "Keep it simple with a great wreath that has just one color or a monochromatic tone-on-tone look that also contrasts from the color of the door," says Lindsay Schleis, vice president of business development at Polywood.

She suggests investing in a coordinating front door mat and some complementary planters to seal the deal.

Elegant house interior design 🏠 Classic Art Deco interiors of rooms

In the design of a country cottage, a balance was found between luxury and comfort, classic aristocracy and modern materials. Art Deco is chosen as the basis of the style solution - a direction in which the beauty of premium-class interiors is combined with functionality and home comfort. Large geometric shapes became the leading decorative technique.

The central part of the first floor is a two-height living room, a large and bright space of which opens already from the hallway. The foyer with white marble floor and mirror cabinet prepares for the reception of the design of the public area. Entering through a wide portal into the living room, you find yourself in front of a group of sofas. The seating area is formed by a dark gray sofa, two armchairs with black glossy inserts, a light gray ottoman. Large, but elegant furniture emphasizes the scale of the main room of the house. nine0003

The color scheme of the elegant interior design is realized with a soft monochrome gamut: the background is light gray shades of marble cladding and plastered walls, dark gray tones introduce table lamps and a sofa, shiny black - armchairs and a console under the TV.

The accent wall in the TV area is highlighted by a beautiful marble panel and graphic side stripes. The shade of mocha used in their decoration brings a warm, very cozy color scheme to the design of the living room, supported by the textile decoration of the panoramic windows. The authors of the project decided to abandon the daytime tulle curtains so as not to block the natural light of the room. Windows with a frequent layout are decorative in themselves. nine0003

The elegant classic interior of the dining room logically continues the decoration of the living room, which communicates through a wide opening. The central element is a large oval table with a black marble top and golden legs. A noble silver color is added by gray upholstered chairs and metallic curtains.

The corner location of the dining room provides good insolation through high windows to the floor. Evening lighting is solved in the form of golden sconces and a white designer chandelier above the dining group. nine0003

The white marble bar marks the border of the kitchen area. Bright lighting in the niche for bar stools makes the structure visually lighter and complements the formal setting. As in the case of the living room, the mocha shade on the upholstery of the chairs successfully dilutes the restrained color combination.

Another geometric accent in the design of the kitchen is a marble panel that acts as an apron and wall covering. It effectively reflects the light falling from the window and the built-in ceiling lights. Minimalistic glossy cabinets complete the composition of the work area. nine0003

The presence of a separate dressing room in the house made it possible to organize the space of a compact bedroom more conveniently. A large double bed occupies the center of the composition.

A decorative navy blue panel behind the headboard sets the color dominance – the elegant colors in the interior of the room are designed in cool gray-blue tones: from the transparent gray shades of the walls, through the blue shades of the textile decoration and banquettes, to the deep blue of the wall decor. And so that the room does not seem too cold, the floor is covered with natural parquet - its warm and rich tone makes the atmosphere cozy and intimate. nine0003

TV panel made in one piece with built-in side cabinets. Such a solution rationally uses the entire width of the wall and organizes storage places for books, magazines, you can beautifully arrange interior decorations on the shelves.

The main lighting is provided by built-in sources around the perimeter of the room. Thanks to the backlighting of a neutral white shade, the false ceiling "breaks away" from the walls and is perceived as an original part of the laconic design of the bedroom. nine0003

Noble classics in the interior of the bathroom is realized with attractive contrasting finishes and art deco means. It is possible to create a chic, but without unnecessary frills environment.
The geometry of the elongated rectangular room suggested the layout of the room, namely the linear arrangement of plumbing and furniture. An oval bath is placed along the wall, to the left of the window.

Its polygonal body is illuminated from below, creating an interesting pendant effect. A dark gray marble panel with a built-in niche highlights the hot tub area in a white interior. With the help of LED lighting, passing from the wall plane to the ceiling, the marble cladding is thematically associated with the same color and textural accent in the entrance area. nine0003

The double washbasin is built into the black stone worktop, the cabinets are nicely contrasted with matte white fronts and shiny black fittings. Geometric patterned side wall panels support the color scheme of the room. And the classic elements - the door portal, window frames, high white skirting boards - create an elegant frame.

The incredibly elegant and aristocratic interior of the house includes the design of an office on the second floor. His palette continues the idea of a neat combination of light and dark objects. A deep gray sofa and marble coffee table focus on the corner area. nine0003

A simple, dark brown writing desk complements the classic herringbone parquet. Upholstered armchairs in the color of coffee with milk enrich the color scheme along with golden lamps. The side wall is occupied by storage systems with illuminated white shelves and the bottom row of blank cabinets with black facades.
Sliding panoramic windows, framed with contrasting architraves, provide access to a magnificent terrace.

Projects in classical styles are attractive with a subtle combination of luxury and comfort. Modern design relies on the harmony of simple shapes and expressive color performance, even in monochrome.

Elegant balance: transitional interiors

At the end of the twentieth century, a new vision of home furnishing emerged in American interior design. Designers and decorators managed to create a style that strikes the perfect balance between classic and modern - transitional. The "golden mean" is able to create a comfortable and light atmosphere with a bright personality. In fact, this style embodies the American classic today. What does "transit" style mean, and how to make it work in the interior in the best possible way - we tell in our article. nine0003

"Transitional" style in the interior - a new look at the old

The word "transitional" itself is translated as "intermediate", "transitional". Furniture in this style is characterized by soft, elegant forms, solidity and comfort, discreet shades of upholstery. Transitional style is a modern and thoughtful combination of classic and modern. This is not an eclectic mess, but a detailed design in a neutral palette. It takes all the best from the classics, but looks fresh and relevant.

All furnishings should not only match and complement each other, but also represent your lifestyle, your philosophy.

In the photo: sofa Moroso Redondo from leading Italian designer Patricia Urquiola . The model is distinguished by smooth, elegant lines, original three-dimensional geometry and original fabric texture.

The essence of style is to create a look that is soft enough, but at the same time not devoid of personality. Stick to simple solutions that will enrich the interior without overwhelming it:

Pictured: living room by Prianera and armchair by Casamilano .

Transitional style is suitable for those who are not "tied" to one era or design style. There is more freedom here as you can experiment until the "mix" suits you. You can make the interior as expressive as you like. So that the house reflects your tastes and is completely unique to you. nine0003

Pictured: Mobilidea . All products are made from precious woods: walnut, beech, cherry with steel and aluminum elements. Laconic forms emphasize the sophistication of natural materials.

Scale

One of the key points here is to keep the proportion of furniture and accessories in the room. These include tables, sofas, armchairs, chairs, and wall art. It is also worth remembering that the style gravitates towards symmetry and regular geometry. nine0003

In the photo: armchair Bonaldo Bruno by designer Mauro Lipparini , sofa Desiree Tulissup . Interior details line up in simple, uncomplicated lines. The symmetry of the classics is preserved, but with a trend towards minimalism.

Furniture is at the heart of the design, and the surrounding space is built around it:

Photo: quilted sofa from Valdichienti . If your living room has traditional architectural features such as trim and moldings, add solid and contemporary chairs and sofas. nine0003

Color

Light neutral tones can be used in various finishing materials: tiles, stone, wood, carpet. When introducing bright accents, make sure that they do not disturb the calm atmosphere of the interior. This role is perfectly performed by the blue gamut. Soft shades of green and purple also work well.

Too many colors and patterns in a room will compete with each other. While too much generality looks insipid. Look for common denominators that will allow all items to work together seamlessly without being too similar. Restrained, and, at the same time, saturated is the use of khaki, light chocolate, tan, milk cream. Such shades soothe, give a sense of confidence and security:

In the photo: sofa group Desiree . The special softness and comfort of Desiree sofas is created by an internal polyurethane filler with a memory effect. The structure of the frame with elastic straps provides the necessary elasticity.

In the photo: living room Ditre Italia Classic .

"Transition" should not look too flashy, so every detail here is verified. Home décor in this style is a balance of design solutions and elements united by classic lines that are combined with more modern shades and furniture. nine0003

In the photo: sofa and poufs Ditre .

transitional furniture

Use simple silhouettes balanced by nuanced, rounded elements. The protagonists of a transitional room are usually large soft sofas and armchairs. They take up a lot of space and often form groups. It is important that you leave enough air and light at the same time:

In the photo: sofa Bonaldo Gossip . The objects are arranged nicely and symmetrically, forming regular shapes. It is comfortable in such a room, everything is “in its place”. nine0003

Choose furniture without sharp straight lines and sharp corners:

Pictured: chairs Bross . Feel free to use corduroy, cotton, velvet and suede in furniture, bedspreads, pillows and curtains.

The transitional style delights in keeping everything in a strict color palette for maximum balance, while the soft play of rounded and rigid silhouettes competing against each other is quiet and almost invisible.

In the photo: table Mobilidea Norman , armchair Milano Bedding Greta .

Textile

Imagine a transitional home with textural, luxurious and varied textiles, yet each room looks subtle and coherent. The key is that no detail should look random - everything rhymes.

In the photo: sofa upholstery Casamilano .

A combination of suede, leather, velveteen, fur, tweed, velvet, silk is welcome... It is better to choose non-contrasting patterns. The main decoration is the quality of the fabric and rich drapery. Bright upholstery should be abandoned. The complex texture of the fabric will look much more interesting. nine0003

In the photo: furniture Alberta .

Accessories

Transitional design allows you to use accessories in the interior, creating a rich layering. It fits well with vintage items, glass vases, exotic items:

In the photo: SigmaL2 .

Pictured: Porta Romana is a British factory that produces original furnishings inspired by wildlife. The range of the factory includes a wide range of lighting and interior accessories: screens, vases, mirror frames. nine0003

In the photo: home accessories from the factory SigmaL2 . Thanks to a few bright touches, the interior, designed in soothing colors, does not seem boring and monotonous.

In the photo: vases and dishes from VG New Trend .

It is important to find a balance point in style. This applies to literally everything in the interior: palettes, shapes, sizes, layouts, lighting.

In the photo: pouf-table Alberta Richard Soft .

For the kitchen, choose a playful mix of vintage and modern appliances that boast clean, beautiful lines and soothing colors. The transitional kitchen is, first of all, clean lines and minimalist design. You can use different textures: stone, wood, tile. nine0003

Pictured: Italian kitchen Castagna Princess . The classic style subtly flows into the modern, it is on the balance of the past and the future that this kitchen was created.

Let decorative but practical items such as crockery and kitchen utensils be the bridge between classic and modern in your kitchen.

In the photo: interior details from the brand SigmaL2 and table accessories Savio Firmino .

The main advantage of using the transitional style in home design is the atmosphere of calm and comfort. nine0003

In the photo: elegant furniture Mobilidea . The absence of sharp corners, flashy colors are the main positions of the room design.

Pictured: dining group Cattelan Italia . Note how in this dining room, the antique console and large mirror add another irresistible "collision element". The interior is light but dramatic.

On the floor you can see natural coverings - soft carpets, or sisal. Wooden floors in neutral tones are also characteristic of the "transitional" interior. nine0003

In the photo: furniture from the Italian factory Valdichienti . The modest and sophisticated style of furniture does not make the interior too brutal, or vice versa, pretentious. The choice of environment in favor of the golden mean creates a space that is comfortable for everyone.

In the photo: bed Selva with high upholstered headboard and textile upholstery.

An excellent solution for creating a quiet accent would be to use monochrome sketches in the interior within strict frames:

On the photo: bedroom Meridiani looks quite airy and soft.

In the photo: elegant beds Cantori . The best choice would be elements that increase comfort. You can actively use carpets, sofa cushions, blankets and blankets.

Pictured: upholstered headboards Bolzan .

Use glass, metal, ceramics and wood in your bathroom. If you have a traditional clawfoot bath, install modern floor tiles.

In the photo: bathroom Capo d'Opera and accessories Savio Firmino .

Pictured: wall panel Alex Turco . Two key parameters to keep in mind when working with the transitional style are "simplicity" and "serenity".

An "updated version of a classic" for elegance without sacrificing comfort. American classics always look light and relaxed. Look for new sounds of familiar things. For example, to decorate a room, use familiar materials, but in new shades and in more modern interpretations. The rule of "transitional" style is to find the point of perfect balance of color palette, shapes and sizes of furniture, layout and lighting.
