It’s summertime. It’s hot. The last thing that I want to do is heat up the house some more by doing a lot of cooking. But, sometimes you want to make food that requires cooking. Crock-Pot to the rescue! Seriously. I love using a Crock-Pot. They require so little effort and the food you can make in them is so tasty. If you do a lot of entertaining, the Crock-Pot Hook Up Connectable Entertaining System is definitely something you need to look into.
The Crock-Pot Hook Up Connectable Entertaining System is a unique way for you to use up to six Crock-Pot units at once while only using one outlet. And that’s not all! Besides customizing your system to include the number of units you want, you can also choose the size of those units. It’s so cool!
I received a Crock-Pot® Hook Up® Connectable Entertaining System 3-Piece Set, which contains one each of the following:
- Crock-Pot® Hook Up® double oval 1-quart capacity slow cooker
- Crock-Pot® Hook Up® round 2-quart capacity slow cooker
- Crock-Pot® Hook Up® oval 3.5-quart capacity slow cooker
I’ve always felt that the Crock-Pot is the absolutely perfect kitchen appliance. They can be used year round. During cold weather there’s just no better way to make your favorite soups, stews, and chowders. In the heat of the summer you can make all sorts of thins in there without heating up the house on an already hot day. The Crock-Pot® Hook Up™ Connectable Entertaining System makes use of the Crock-Pot you know and love, but adapted the design to make it perfect for entertaining.
The variety of sizes available for the Crock-Pot® Hook Up™ Connectable Entertaining System allow you to make a variety of dishes, or just different amounts of certain dishes. Having a lot of people over and want to make a lot of your favorite soup? Put out a couple of the large units. Having a party and want to create a buffet or sauces or toppings? Line up some of the smaller units. The Crock-Pots provide an easy way for you to offer tasty foods and keep them warm for the duration of your get together.
Having a cookout? We did last week. We did the burgers, steak and hot dogs outside. Inside, I used the Crock-Pot® Hook Up™ Connectable Entertaining System to make chocolate fudge, chocolate peanut butter fudge, chocolate peanut butter chip cake, and some chili cheese dip.
The sleek, modern looking bases stack in order to make storage easier. To be clear, stack does not mean the same thing as nest. Stack means you can simply stack one on top of another. Each base contains a power cord that pulls out when needed and retracts to store in the base when not in use. Those power cords either plug into a standard outlet or another Crock-Pot® Hook Up® unit. Each unit, no matter what the size, is designed with High, Low and Warm settings. The removable crocks are all made of durable, dishwasher-safe stoneware, and come with glass lids.
Here’s a brief video showing how the system works.
How would you use the Crock-Pot Hook Up™ Connectable Entertaining System?

features of dishes with a double bottom and walls, for which you need
Today, such items are very popular and are often used in kitchens. Their value has increased greatly in recent years. Such dishes are in great demand today and have many advantages, as well as useful properties.
The double bottom pan is made from a pair of materials that conduct and retain heat in different ways.

Benefits of double-bottom sandwich pans
Such a high demand for products is due to the fact that they have a lot of useful properties and advantages. nine0003
- Compared with thin-bottom models, its use is more practical.
- The use of such utensils greatly facilitates the cooking process.
- Cooking times are significantly reduced.
- If you think about it, you can come to the conclusion that this affects energy (gas), or rather, its (his) economy.
Thick bottom is heated evenly, which affects the cooking process. That is, the fact of food burning to the bottom surface is almost completely excluded. Such utensils allow you to cook dishes in the juice of the product itself. You don't have to use fat or oil. Such news is especially unique for those who adhere to proper nutrition and eating healthy food. nine0003
In the construction of such a bottom, not one type of material is used, but several.
This structure of the bottom contributes to the preservation of nutrients.
- This is due to the rapid preparation.
- All the nutrients in the product do not have time to break down, as with prolonged exposure to high temperature.
- A typical average temperature is 95 degrees.
The double bottom pan is made from a pair of materials that conduct and retain heat in different ways. nine0003
Due to the fact that the dishes on such dishes practically do not burn, care of the dishes is much easier. To do this, simply wash the dishes with detergent and keep your product clean. No additional manipulations are necessary.
There can be not only 2 such layers, there are products with 5 layers.
Why food tastes better in double-walled pots with bottoms
When this type of pot with a thick bottom and walls appears, the hostess immediately feels the difference compared to other kitchen tools. The first thing that catches your eye is the speed of cooking. The heat distribution is even and the food cooks faster. The main recommendation of cooks and manufacturers themselves is to turn off the stove 15 minutes before the dish is ready. Due to the speed of cooking, food does not have time to lose its beneficial qualities, vitamins and minerals. It can be concluded that such a tool is used to prepare useful products. nine0003
Layers are applied according to the "sandwich" principle - the topmost and bottommost layers are the same, and other materials are located between them.
In addition to all these advantages, there is another advantage that is just as significant. You can undercook the dish and turn off the gas, the material will allow for long-term storage of heat and allow the food to reach the desired consistency. So the dish completely absorbs the aroma and taste.
If there is a problem with food sticking to the bottom. Then you should not rush to tear off the product. Due to the special design, you need to wait, after which you can safely turn the food over without much effort. nine0003
The first and last layer is stainless steel, inside is usually aluminum.
Due to the even distribution of heat, you can prepare culinary delights with the least amount of oil and spend a minimum of time on frying. Your meal will be light and healthy. You can also forget about some additional kitchen appliances. For example, you will no longer need a milk cooker.
Cookware with a shiny surface retains heat longer, but if you take into account the matte surface, then the cooling will be a little faster. nine0003
Double bottom pot designs
An encapsulated bottom doesn't just mean using more material. To create such a design, it is necessary to use a larger number of different metals. These double-bottom pans are equipped with different types of materials in order to achieve the desired thermal conductivity. Each material conducts heat in its own way and retains it. There can be a different number of such layers. Their imposition on each other works according to an interesting universal and practical principle of a sandwich. nine0003
Aluminum is a material that oxidizes easily, but such a stainless steel "case" perfectly protects it from this scourge.
The top and bottom layers are exactly the same, but there are other materials in between. As a rule, a stainless steel layer is used as the top and bottom layers, and aluminum is placed inside. Aluminum itself is a material that tends to oxidize. But two covering layers protect it from such a problem.
Depending on the number of layers, the thickness of the bottom of such dishes also varies - it can be from 5 to 12 mm. nine0003
It's easy to see that depending on how many layers your model has, the bottom thickness varies. It can be varied - from 5 to 12 mm. For standard cooking, the optimal thickness can reach 8 mm.
- If there is a thicker product, the heat distribution will be completely different.
- It will take longer to heat up, but it will also take longer to cool down.
For conventional cooking methods, a thickness of 6-8 mm is recommended, a thicker one will distribute heat differently, heat up longer and cool down longer. nine0003
If you do not know these nuances, then your first courses will most likely be spoiled. It is best to take the average parameters that the cook is used to.
This design has two subtypes: traditional and capsule.
Such a bottom is called capsular or encapsulated and, in fact, is a multilayer metal structure made of two, three or even five layers.
Traditional "sandwich"
This development involves first making the dish itself, but without the bottom. The aluminum part is fastened together with two stainless steel discs. Bonding is carried out at the expense of high temperature under strong pressure. Then there is processing on the machine and bonding with the dishes themselves. nine0003
The thick bottom heats up more evenly than the thin bottom, which almost completely eliminates the burning of food.
The bottom is ultra-precise and marked. Its diameter is slightly smaller than the product itself. But gradually this principle of manufacturing becomes irrelevant. More technological and preferred is the capsule type.
What is a capsule "sandwich"
All manufacturing technology is similar to the above, with the exception of one point. In this method, there is no bottom processing by using a machine. The same combination of layers occurs under high pressure, but the disks already have the required diameter and size. Therefore, for example, a kettle with a capsule bottom will already have a cast bottom and a single shape. nine0003
The thick bottom allows you to cook food in its own juices with a minimum of water and oil.
Products with a multi-layered bottom are the most preferred, regardless of the type of construction. But capsule manufacturing is more labor-intensive, and therefore its price is much higher.
How to choose a quality double wall model
When choosing a model, pay attention to the weight of the product. The heavier the structure, the more layers are in the bottom area. If the model is very heavy, then you should pay attention to how well the handles are fixed. With screw fastening, it should be understood that over time the handles can become loose, and the rivets very often oxidize in the future. The most practical option is a seam connection. nine0003
Due to the capsule structure of the bottom, most of the nutrients in the products are not destroyed and remain in sufficient volume.
When choosing an appliance, remember to take care of the cover. Make sure that it fits snugly so that the food can reach the consistency of readiness, languishing under the lid. The product must be in perfect condition and not have any factory defects in the form of scratches, chips, dents. This will lead to the fact that bacteria will accumulate inside and the dishes will become unsuitable for cooking. nine0003
A multi-layer bottom offers many advantages, regardless of how it is produced.
Teflon coated handles are preferred over silicon or wood. They do not tolerate high temperatures very well. From this, over time, they gradually become malfunctioning and their use becomes impossible.
Capsule technology requires a lot of labor, so these dishes have a higher price.
As for the required amount, then focus on the number of family members. If you have a large family that likes to eat tasty and often, then buy an appliance of the appropriate size. Otherwise, a small saucepan will be enough for several servings. If possible, it is best to purchase a set of pots of different sizes that will be useful to you for all occasions. Small 2-liter buckets will be great helpers for cooking cereals. A 10-liter model will be an excellent assistant for preparing blanks, as well as everyone's favorite jam. nine0003
Different materials with different properties help food not to burn.
Care of double bottom pots
In general, such products are unpretentious, but there are a number of rules that are best followed if you want it to serve you for a long time. So you can extend its properties and maintain characteristics.
When cooking, it is best to use plastic or silicone spatulas. This will preserve the integrity of the surface and not damage the coating. Do not use hard sponges when cleaning, as you will only harm the device and erase the non-stick layer. Use soft sponges and regular detergents. nine0003
Due to the increased cooking speed, the cost of electricity or gas is significantly reduced.
If possible, make sure that the diameter of the bottom of the cookware is the same as the burner. Try not to resort to using a large fire unless absolutely necessary. For such a bottom design, a weak or medium level of flame will be sufficient.
If somehow you have burnt food, then in order to get rid of it without harm to the dishes, you just need to make a solution based on water and dishwashing liquid. After 10 minutes, the residue can be easily washed off with a simple sponge. nine0003
Cookware with such a bottom can be used on absolutely any surface and types of stoves.
In order not to damage the appliance, make sure that the walls are not subjected to flame pressure. The flame should only heat the bottom of the pan.
In general, we can say that such a useful kitchen appliance should be in the arsenal of every housewife. These pots save cooking time and food tastes amazing. In addition to everything else, it is also useful. Such models will become your assistants in saving resources and money. You will be able to cook the most real culinary masterpieces. Every day you will delight yourself and your family with delicious dishes. Cooking will bring real joy. nine0003
At first, you will have to get used to the versatility and speed of cooking, but it will not take much effort and time.

Utensils The pan consists of a circular cross-section cooking container with a flare in the upper part and a lid with a central hole, under which a hollow cup-shaped insert is fixed. The interacting beaded edges of the cooking container and the lid are releasably connected to each other by locking connections. With the help of the proposed pan, you can effectively cook liquid food in an air grill: soups, compotes, etc. 2 c.p. f-ly, 9ill.
The invention relates to household kitchen appliances, namely to utensils for cooking food in air grill devices.
In the home kitchen, cooking is carried out, in particular, using devices known as air grills. In these devices, cooking is carried out with the help of forcibly converted hot air, which blows the dishes with food placed in the air grill from all sides. In this case, the use of various utensils, including metal pans, is allowed. nine0003
Known metal pan, consisting of a cylindrical cooking vessel with a flare in the upper part and a lid with a flare [1].
The disadvantage of such a pan is that when it is used for cooking in an air grill, the heat transfer from the circulating hot air to the food products inside the pan is generally not efficient enough. The metal bottom and walls of the pan have good thermal conductivity, and therefore heat transfer through them is carried out quite efficiently. From above, on the side of the lid, heat transfer, on the contrary, turns out to be ineffective, the reason for which is the air-filled space between the lid and the surface of the food. Air, on the other hand, is known to be a very good thermal insulator, and therefore heat transfer from the lid to the contents of the pan is low. nine0003
The closest analogue of the claimed invention in terms of technical essence and achieved result is a metal or silicone mold for baking a Kugelhopf cake, which is an open container in the form of a pan with a round cross section, but without a lid [2]. In the center of the bottom of this container there is a round hole, above which is fixed a fixed vertical insert in the form of a truncated hollow cone open at the top and bottom. The purpose of this insert is to ensure better baking of the dough by further increasing the heat transfer through the walls of the hollow insert. nine0003
In relation to the problem being solved, the lack of capacity for baking a cake is seen in the fact that it is not suitable for cooking liquid food in an air grill, such as soup. It lacks the necessary cover in such cases. In addition, the presence of a relatively bulky insert in the center of the container makes it much more difficult or even impossible to pour, for example, soup or compote from such a container into dishes for eating food (plates, cups) using a ladle. The insert located in the center of the container makes it difficult to wash such dishes. nine0003
Cake pan [2] is considered as a prototype for the claimed invention.
The technical result of the invention is to increase the efficiency of cooking, as well as to expand the arsenal of means for cooking in devices such as air grill.
The specified technical result is achieved due to the fact that in the pan, consisting of a cooking container round in cross section with a flare in the upper part and from a hollow insert located in the center of the container open at the top, there is a lid with a central hole, under which a hollow insert in the form is fixed glass, and the interacting beaded edges of the container and the lid are detachably connected to each other by locking connections. nine0003
The essence of the invention is illustrated by drawings, where:
figure 1 shows a General view of the pan in section, front view;
figure 2 - view of the pot from above, locking connection in working order;
figure 3 - side view of the pot;
figure 4 - 1st version of the lock connection;
figure 5 - 2nd embodiment of the interlock;
in Fig. 6 is a top view of the pan, the interlock is inoperative;
figure 7 - 3rd embodiment of the interlock, side view; nine0003
in Fig.8 - 3rd embodiment of the interlock connection, front view;
in Fig.9 - 3rd embodiment of the interlock connection, top view.
The pan consists of a cooking container 1 (Fig.1-6) of circular cross section, which is equipped with a lid 2. The upper part of the cooking container and the lid are made with a flare. There is a hole 3 in the center of the lid, under which a hollow insert 4 in the form of a glass is fixed on it. A handle 5 is fixed on top of the lid 2. The cooking container 1 can also be equipped with handles 6, however, the flare 7 along the upper edge of the container 1 can also be used as the latter to hold the pan.
In two diametrically opposed locking elements 8 (Fig.1-6) on the upper edge of the cooking container 1, the flanging is made with the formation of a horizontal groove 9 (Fig.4), open towards the axis of the pan. On two diametrically opposite horizontal sections of the beaded edge 10 of the lid 2, two cutouts 11 are made, the length and width of which are greater than the corresponding parameters of the locking elements 8 on the upper edge of the container 1. When installing the beaded edge 10 in the groove 9formed locking connection type "thorn-groove" 12 (figure 1-4). Narrow slots 13 (figure 2) between the walls of the cutouts 11 and the wall of the cooking container 1 serve to release steam. Instead of slots 13 in the lid 2 can be made a separate hole for the release of steam (not shown).
Figure 5 shows an embodiment of the interlock. Its distinguishing feature is that the horizontal groove 14 in it is formed in the locking element 15 on the flanging of the lid 2 and the horizontal section of the flanging 7 of the upper edge of the brewing vessel 1 interacts with it.0003
Another embodiment of the interlock is shown in Figures 7-9. In accordance with this option, the lock connection is formed by the interaction of the ridge 14, formed on the protruding edge element 15 on the lid 2, with the visor 16 on the handle 6. The pan must have at least two such diametrically opposite lock connections (see Fig.9) . When closing the pot, cover 2 is placed on the cooking container 1 and then the latter is turned around the axis so that the protruding elements 15 go under the peaks 16 on the handles 6. In this case, the ridges 14 on the protruding elements 15 will directly contact the peaks. To remove the cover, it must be turned around the axis until the protruding elements 15 come out from under the visors 16.
When cooking in a saucepan, for example, soup, the necessary food components are placed in the cooking container 1. So that when this container is covered, the insert 4 together with the lid 2 does not pop up, the latter is fixed using locking connections 12. The lid 2 is placed on the container 1 so that lock elements 8 entered the cutouts 11 on the edge of the cover (see Fig.6). Then the lid 2 is rotated around the axis, while leading the sections of the beaded edge 10 adjacent to the cutouts 11 into the horizontal grooves 9 in the locking elements 8. The result of these actions is the fixation of the lid 2 and the insert 4 in their working position (Fig.1-5). nine0003
Next, the pot with the soup is placed in the air grill, after which the cooking process begins. As already mentioned, the thermal energy necessary for cooking is delivered to the products in the pan by blowing hot air over the pan. Accordingly, the larger the area of the walls of the pan in contact with its contents and simultaneously blown with hot air, the more intense and efficient the cooking process will be. Insert 4 immersed in the cooked product significantly increases the area of the pan walls through which heat transfer from the circulating hot air to the cooked products can take place. Therefore, the cooking process should also be more efficient. nine0003
At the end of cooking, use the handles 6 to remove the pan from the air fryer. To remove the lid, it is rotated around the axis using the handle 5 so that the cutouts 11 on its beaded edge are aligned with the locking elements 8 on the upper edge of the brewing vessel 1. After that, the lid 2 with the insert 4 fixed on it is removed by lifting it up.
The proposed pot, in contrast to the prototype device, is suitable for efficient cooking in air grill liquid food (soups, compotes, etc.). All surfaces of the components of the pot (cooking pot 1 and lid 2 with insert 4) that have come into contact with food are easily accessible for cleaning. Since the insert 4 is removed from the cooking container 1 after cooking, there are no obstacles to pouring, for example, cooked soup or compote into dishes for eating food (plates, cups) using a ladle. nine0003
