My home

Subsequently, it became an indispensable attribute of rural cuisine. However, designers defy stereotypical thinking by successfully adding sideboards to a modern style dining room. nine0005

Taishet24 news in Viber!

The traditional wardrobe consists of three sections:

  1. The upper one is equipped with or without glass doors. It is intended for storage of glassware (glasses, plates, service).
  2. The middle compartment is designed to store cutlery. It is separated from the top by a small countertop for preparing snacks.
  3. The lower one is equipped with shelves to accommodate heavy equipment. These are frying pans, pots, household appliances. nine0029

Over time, the bulky design has been transformed into a compact sideboard suitable for small spaces. A full-size sideboard is appropriate for large areas.

Benefits

The kitchen sideboard is a complete multifunctional cabinet that frees up space. This is not the only plus of the kitchen set. The following advantages are noted:

  1. Holds a large number of items. You can place all the available inventory. nine0029
  2. Suitable for any design. Models have been developed for installation in a large dining room, a compact kitchen in a private house and apartment. It will look harmoniously in a calm classic style and bold high-tech.
  3. Environmental safety. Natural materials are used in production. The risk of an allergy is excluded. Does not emit toxic fumes when the temperature rises.
  4. Aesthetically pleasing appearance.
  5. Manufacture of structures according to an individual project. If there is no suitable finished model, you can order the development of a layout. nine0029

An old restored sideboard is also suitable for decorating the kitchen. The peculiarity lies in the preservation of the original appearance. Only worn or damaged elements are replaced.

Varieties

Sideboard for dishes is grouped according to the type of construction:

  1. Closed. This option is a monolithic cabinet with doors. Some models are equipped with transparent windows. This allows you to view the contents of the sideboard.
  2. nine0028 Open. It has shelves, drawers for storing inventory. Additionally, a worktop is built in. Doors are missing.
  3. Classic. Three-section cabinet for storing dishes. The upper part is equipped with shelves with glass doors. The middle one represents a free niche or countertop for food preparation. Lower - shelves closed with a blank door.

Sideboard harmoniously blends into the interior due to its shape. Straight and angular models have been developed. nine0005

Material

This piece of furniture is made from natural raw materials. Despite the large number of design ideas, options and formats, you cannot find options created from chemically harmful raw materials. Installed in the kitchen or dining buffet is not deformed by heating. Elimination of harmful toxins is excluded.

Modern models are made using:

  1. Natural wood. The sideboard made of noble breeds is additionally decorated with carvings. Pros - durable, wear-resistant, environmentally friendly. With proper care, it will retain its attractiveness for decades. Minus - refers to the expensive price segment. nine0029
  2. Chipboard, MDF. Visually imitate noble wood. However, external properties are inferior to quality. They have a limited service life. Belongs to the budget furniture category.

Pay attention! A sideboard made of wood or lumber must be treated with special protective equipment. The covering interferes with absorption of water, extraneous smells, pollution.

Sideboard in different styles

The sideboard can be made in the same style as the rest of the kitchen furniture. This method of design is appropriate if you want to emphasize a single style of the room. nine0005

The sideboard can also be used as an accent in the dining room. It is carried out in the same color scheme with the headset. It has contrasting colors of shelves and facades. Such a decision attracts the attention of all those present.

If the style means "preservation of antiquity", designers develop models with cracks, chips, scuffs. The technique of artificial aging is popular in the interior of country houses.

sideboards and sideboards in the kitchen in the photo

Surely many of us associate a sideboard or sideboard with grandmother's kitchen. And if suddenly you find yourself the heir to this item, do not rush to throw it away. After all, it is he who can become the highlight of the kitchen interior, filling the atmosphere with warmth and homeliness and, of course, pleasant memories associated with the grandmother's house. Buffets and sideboards in modern styles look no less impressive. nine0005

What is a buffet?

In fact, this is a cabinet where dishes, cutlery, textiles and some products are stored. The sideboard can be not only an element of the kitchen, but also a living room, especially in modern homes. In post-Soviet times, a sideboard with transparent glasses was called a sideboard. In the traditional sense, this piece of furniture has the following design:

  • in the lower part there is a storage system in the form of a cabinet with drawers or doors with different patterns and colors; nine0029
  • at the top - traditional open shelves, it is possible to place cabinets, the doors of which are often decorated with glass inserts;

  • between these two elements, as a rule, there is free space, and the surface of the cupboards at the top of the sideboard can also serve as a countertop or an additional plane for placing beautiful decorative objects.

The modern sideboard design is rarely frilly decorative, but it fits perfectly into many styles - minimalism, country, eco, modern, high-tech. nine0005

Today, there are models on sale without a clear division into parts, for example, in many of them the top fits snugly to the bottom, and there is no empty space in the middle at all.

There are budget options with glass inserts, reminiscent of an ordinary showcase.

As for the size of the sideboard, there are no standards or restrictions. It all depends on the height of the ceilings, the volume of the kitchen and personal preferences. Manufacturers offer a lot of options - from narrow single-leaf products to wide ones with a large number of doors. The filling can also be the most diverse: all kinds of dividers and other elements not only perform a functional role, but also save free space. nine0005

Benefits of a sideboard in the kitchen

  • Traditional sideboards made of noble, sustainable wood are the most common;
  • large capacity allows you to store in them, in addition to kitchen utensils, decorative dishes and home textiles;
  • can be used in various styles to give the room a special sophistication, individuality and nobility.

Despite all the above advantages, it is important to pay attention to some of the nuances of using this attribute in the interior:

  • more harmoniously the sideboard will look like an independent item in the kitchen, so additional space should be allocated for its optimal placement. A luxurious sideboard will look intrusive in a small kitchen or living room, although there are also more concise compact designs on sale;
  • the price of a high-quality product made of natural material will be quite high. On the other hand, the corner design for the kitchen is a more economical, compact and quite nice option that will fit into a standard interior. nine0029

Variety of sideboards

  • closed type - it assumes the presence of shelves covered with doors. Such a sideboard may have a small window in which items on the shelves are partially visible;

  • open type - these products do not have a door. An interesting design solution can be an open tabletop placed between the upper and lower tiers;

  • a classic type of sideboard, which provides for the presence of 3 levels with an open niche, shelves and doors.

Types of materials used for the manufacture of sideboards

1. Valuable species of natural wood. They are famous for their luxurious appearance and durability. As a rule, solid wood products have facade carved elements. However, the cost of such buffets is quite impressive. In addition, the possibility of a change in structure and shape under the influence of external factors is not ruled out, due to which the material may lose its former color, swell or dry out. Despite this, wood is a leader in the production of such products, and there are a lot of options for processing it. nine0005

2. MDF and chipboard. This raw material is in high demand in the market, as it is in the price segment accessible to most buyers. At the same time, there are many ways to process it, allowing objects to look “antique” or to imitate various tree species. In this sense, the interior will look very elegant and attractive.

These materials are most commonly used for cupboards and sideboards, but plastic or metal structures are also common. nine0005

sideboard against a background of different styles

An ideal option for the classics is a sideboard made of natural solid wood, equipped with carved fronts. Such an attribute will bring a touch of graceful aristocracy and charm to your kitchen.

A white sideboard with carved trim is just what you need to create a French Provence atmosphere. An important role here is played by beautiful fittings with graceful lines (for example, door handles).

Colorful country successfully reflects the personality of the room. This type of construction is often varnished, and the external aesthetics of the decor is very simple: there are no carved details, and the sideboard configuration involves a large number of cabinets and shelves.
