Best battery life cordless vacuum

Best Cordless Vacuum Battery Life | Cordless Vacuum Battery Life Guide

Here at Which Vac? we put all sorts of appliances through rigorous testing to ensure they meet manufacturers' listed figures.  But, as well as that, we also aim to bring the facts and recommendations to you, the consumer.

When buying a cordless vacuum one of the key factors to consider is battery life.  It's cordless, after all, so what good is it if the battery doesn't last long enough?

Our battery tests consist of 3 separate tests to ensure the cordless vacuum batteries are up to scratch.  These tests are:

We put our cordless vacuums to the test to see what came up trumps.

Check out our top 3.

3.  Dyson V8 Cordless Vacuum

Dyson V8 Cordless

The famous Dyson comes in at number 3. With a 40 minute battery life the Dyson is a strong contender and has enough juice to clean your home twice (if you're quick!).

Dyson's V8 has a boost mode which drops the battery life down to a tiny 6 minutes. In reality this mode should only be used in tiny bursts, but even so it will take its toll quickly.

What let the Dyson down in our tests was the charge time, which comes in at 5 hours. This may not matter to some, as after use it goes straight back onto the dock to charge anyway, but in such a close race we have to bear it in mind.

Have a read of our review of the Dyson V8 cordless.

2. Gtech AirRam & Gtech AirRam K9

Gtech AirRam K9

Both the Gtech AirRam and the Gtech AirRam K9 have the same battery and power consumption. The difference between the two are the bristles on the brush and scented tabs that are found inside the device itself to try and remove pet odours from the room and the vacuum itself.

It was extremely close between the Gtechs and the Dyson V8. Both cordless vacuums had a solid 40 minutes of battery life according to manufacturer.

During our tests the Gtech managed to last an extra minute over the Dyson. Both vacs kept strong suction until the end, without any fear of wavering.

What clinched it for the Gtech over the Dyson is the charge time, which comes in slightly lower at 4 hours for the Gtech.

Have a read of our reviews of the Gtech AirRam and the Gtech AirRam K9.

1. Bosch Athlet ProAnimal

Bosch Athlet ProAnimal

Here is our winner, the Bosch Athlet ProAnimal cordless vacuum. This pet friendly cordless smashed our tests and beat the others comfortably.

With a solid 60 minutes of battery life the ProAnimal won that side of the test comfortably. We put most of the score weighting onto battery life as that is, after all, the most important factor to a good battery.

Second test was whether the Bosch would start flagging towards the end of the charge. It did, but not until around 58 minutes into the 60 minute charge. It then continued through to 62 minutes of use, which we feel counteracts the slight wavering of power.

Lastly is charge time, which has the longest of all of the other cordless vacuums we put it up against. 6 hours is what it takes to get the battery back up to full again, which is more than the Dyson and the Gtechs. Most people will leave their vacuums on charge over night or after use, so this is less of an issue, but certainly worth mentioning.

A good cordless vacuum is a helpful addition to any household cleaning arsenal. When you don't need to worry about staying in range of an outlet, it's easy to clean small, out-of-the-way areas not only inside your home but also in tighter spaces like car interiors. You also don't have to worry about a power cord getting snagged on a piece of furniture and bringing a frustrating pause to your cleaning session. However, despite recent strides in extending overall battery life, a cordless vacuum still can't offer the worry-free indefinite runtime of a corded vacuum. For many, however, this trade-off is worth the near-infinite range that these appliances have.

We've tested over 130 vacuum cleaners, and below are our recommendations for the best cordless vacuums to buy. We selected these picks based on their performance on different surface types and their feature set, battery life, and price. For more options, look at our lists of the best vacuums, our best cordless stick vacuums, and the best vacuums for high-pile carpet.

The Dyson V15 Detect is the best cordless vacuum cleaner we've tested. This cordless stick vacuum can easily handle pet hair as well as solid debris on both low- and high-pile carpets. The combination of its powerful motor and the tight seal that its multi-surface floorhead can generate causes it to drag around some lighter rugs. It can automatically adjust its suction power depending on the surfaces you're cleaning. There's also an onboard dirt sensor that counts and measures debris being sucked into the vacuum, meaning you can keep tabs on allergen concentration in your home. It has many attachments, like a miniature turbo brush, a combination upholstery tool/soft bristle brush, and even a secondary floorhead with a laser light to help you see fine debris on bare floors.

If you're looking for a better-built alternative, the Samsung Bespoke Jet is worth a look. This premium stick vacuum comes with a standup charging dock that doubles as a self-emptying base station; when docked, debris from the vacuum's dustbin is sucked into a dirtbag inside the base station, so you don't need to worry about creating a plume of dust when emptying it. However, its dual brushroll floorhead makes it harder to maneuver in tight spots, and it lacks the Dyson vacuum's self-adjusting suction power capability.

If you're shopping at an upper mid-range price point, the Miele Triflex HX1 is a great option. This uniquely-designed cordless vacuum can be used as a stick, upright, or handheld vacuum, letting you quickly adapt to several different cleaning situations on the fly. It also feels well-built for a vacuum of this type, with a body made mainly from high-grade plastic. Unfortunately, it has a much smaller dirt compartment than the Dyson V15 Detect, and its max battery life of a little over 30 minutes doesn't give you nearly as much time to clean. If you're looking for a similarly-priced alternative with better battery performance, the Dyson V12 Detect Slim is a solid alternative, albeit with an even smaller dustbin.

Performance on bare surfaces is exceptional, and the vacuum does a good job of clearing away debris on carpeted floors without getting bogged down in plush rugs. Its surface detection system lets it adapt to the surface type that you're on, and it can even stop its brushroll automatically if it gets tangled in something.

The Tineco PURE ONE S11 is a great option if you're looking on the affordable end of things but aren't willing to sacrifice versatility. Unusually for a vacuum in this price range, it has a built-in dirt sensor that lets it automatically increase its suction power when cleaning areas with a high concentration of debris. Another rare feature for the price is its onboard HEPA filter, which is quite effective in sealing in allergens. Performance on bare floors is fantastic, though it has a harder time dealing with debris embedded in low-pile carpet . Unfortunately, its relatively affordable purchase price reflects in its build quality, which feels considerably less robust than the Miele Triflex HX1.

If you want a mid-priced cordless vacuum that does a better job of handling debris on carpeted floors, the Samsung Jet 60 is a fantastic alternative, though it lacks the Tineco's self-adjusting suction power capability and doesn't do as well on bare floors.

The best budget cordless vacuum we've tested is the Wyze Cordless Vacuum. While it feels considerably less durable than the Tineco PURE ONE S11 and lacks its automatic power adjustment feature, it's cheaper and produces a similarly strong real-world suction force, so it does a good job clearing debris from crevices. It performs impressively well on carpets, is highly effective in dealing with pet hair, and does a good job on bare floors, though bulky material can get stuck at the entry to its dustbin. Unlike many other budget-friendly vacuums, it has a HEPA filter to trap fine particles as you clean, which is great if you suffer from allergies. It supplies a maximum of one hour of runtime in its most energy-efficient 'ECO' mode, though its runtime drops to a little over 10 minutes if you run it in its high-power 'TURBO' mode.

If you're looking for a budget-friendly cordless vacuum that struggles less with bulky debris, you could consider the Tineco PURE ONE X, which has a longer battery life and charges much faster. However, it doesn't perform as well on carpeted floors and has a smaller dustbin.

If you value the dirt compartment capacity that comes with an upright vacuum but still want to stay cordless, the Shark Vertex Pro Powered Lift-Away is a very good option. Compared to a similarly-priced cordless stick vacuum like the Tineco PURE ONE S11, it exchanges maneuverability for a larger internal dustbin that won't need emptying as often and has a longer battery life. Besides, it's still more maneuverable and easier to store than the average corded upright. Like most of Shark's upright vacuums, its 'Lift-Away' design enables you to pick up and carry its canister body separately from its floorhead, making it easier to clean hard-to-reach areas like on top of shelves or behind couches and chairs. It has a solid range of attachments, like an upholstery tool that's remarkably well-suited for dealing with pet hair on fabric surfaces, and a fine-bristle dusting brush for cleaning delicate surfaces.

Performance is strong across the board, with no significant loss in capability as its dustbin fills up. Unfortunately, while it does offer two different levels of surface adjustment, these settings only affect the speed of its brushrolls, not their height, so the vacuum can sometimes get stuck on dense shag-pile carpeting. Need to go even lighter? The Hoover ONEPWR Evolve Pet is another cordless upright worth considering. However, it feels considerably less robust and offers terrible air filtration performance.

            Notable Mentions

            • Shark Vertex Pro Lightweight: The Shark Vertex Pro Lightweight is a cordless stick vacuum that represents a good alternative to the Miele Triflex HX1, thanks to its long battery life and flexible wand. However, it's notably heavier and doesn't perform as well on carpets. See our review
            • JASHEN V16: The JASHEN V16 is a relatively affordable cordless stick vacuum with two swappable brushrolls: one for bare floors and one for carpets. Unfortunately, compared to the similarly-priced Wyze Cordless Vacuum, it struggles with bulky debris like cereal, which can clog the entry to its dirt compartment. See our review
            • Samsung Jet 90 Complete: The Samsung Jet 90 Complete is a great alternative to the Dyson V15 Detect if you're looking for something with a slightly larger dirt compartment and broadly similar overall performance. It lacks the Dyson vacuum's dirt sensor and automatic power adjustment capability. See our review
            • Samsung Jet 70: The Samsung Jet 70 has a lot in common with the cheaper Samsung Jet 60, as it uses the same 150AW motor and 1800 mAh battery but comes bundled with a more effective multi-surface floorhead. Its strong performance on carpet makes it a good alternative to the Tineco PURE ONE S11, but it lacks the Tineco vacuum's self-adjusting power feature and is slightly heavier. It's also worth noting that this vacuum's availability is far more sporadic than the Jet 60 or Tineco vacuums. See our review

            Discussions

what you need to know in order to choose a good one and not be disappointed?

Upright vacuum cleaners (hand sticks) are used both for quick cleaning and daily maintenance of cleanliness, and as a main household vacuum cleaner - for example, if the apartment is small and there is simply no place to store a full-sized device. In this case, it is especially important to choose an upright vacuum cleaner that will cope not only with everyday tasks (collecting spilled cereals or earth from a flower pot), but also with thorough cleaning of a wide variety of surfaces. The number of “weak points” in such a vacuum cleaner should be minimal, otherwise the quality of cleaning will be mediocre, and the user will get something opposite instead of convenience and speed of work and will be forced to buy another vacuum cleaner. We tell you what technical solutions in upright vacuum cleaners cannot be called successful - and what are (if any) alternatives. nine0003

            Bottom motor design

Sticks are designed either in the image and likeness of Dyson (motor, dust collector and handle are located above the telescopic tube), or in the model of Electrolux ErgoRapido with a motor above the main nozzle and with a removable portable vacuum cleaner for cleaning furniture and cars.

            engine top bottom motor

The first option has a number of advantages. Such vacuum cleaners crawl under furniture on low legs - the engine and dust container do not interfere; The center of gravity of these models is located at the handle, so it is convenient to lift them up to clean high-lying surfaces. The suction pipe can be simply removed and put on any nozzle - not only for crevices and computer keyboards, but also, for example, motorized floor and furniture brushes: the vacuum cleaner turns into a portable one without losing any of its capabilities. This type of vacuum cleaner also has a drawback: they do not stand without support if you need to pause during cleaning. But models with a lower engine location still have more disadvantages. nine0003

For example, a portable vacuum cleaner in such hand sticks is removable, and not all nozzles are suitable for it - in most cases, only crevice and combined for furniture / equipment, but the connection of motorized brushes for floor and furniture is not provided. The low-mounted motor and dust collector do not allow the vacuum cleaner to pass freely under furniture and into some hard-to-reach places. Yes, and not everyone can lift such a vacuum cleaner to clean the ceiling or upper corners.

Briefly: they won't fit everywhere, not suitable for cleaning high surfaces, a portable vacuum cleaner is limited in its capabilities, and sometimes it is not available at all.

            NiMh battery

Although this is already a rarity, still sometimes there are vacuum cleaners equipped with inexpensive nickel-metal hydride batteries (NiMh) with a “memory effect” - loss of capacity if the rules for operating and charging such a battery are not followed. So, if the entire battery charge is not used up, it cannot be put on recharging, otherwise the next time you turn on the vacuum cleaner, the operating time will be equal to the time that the battery had before recharging in the previous cycle. The memory effect is reversible: the battery can be discharged and recharged, but in the daily pace of life it is inconvenient to remember such a feature, and the vacuum cleaner may suddenly refuse to work at the most inopportune moment. nine0003

Another disadvantage of NiMh batteries is a high percentage of self-discharge: the battery loses up to 10% of its charge per day even without operation. To be always ready for cleaning, such a vacuum cleaner must always be on charge. And if a vacuum cleaner with a NiMh battery is not used for a long time, it is recommended to fully charge the battery first, and then remove it (if possible) and store it separately. Who keeps all this? Unless very meticulous and technically advanced users, and the rest simply put up with the inevitable deterioration of the vacuum cleaner (well, or they write negative reviews about it). nine0003

Briefly: today it is better not to take a vacuum cleaner with a NiMh battery.

            Short battery life

How long does it take to vacuum a standard kopeck piece? At least forty minutes, and if you need to vacuum not only the floor and upholstered furniture, then more. This is what should be taken into account when choosing. The characteristics of the device always indicate the maximum operating time without recharging, but it should be borne in mind that most often it means working at minimum power. The higher it is, the faster the battery drains. Therefore, the standard "40 minutes of battery life" most often means "40 minutes for a lightly soiled smooth floor." If you use such an average model at an average power (subject to its availability), then it will work without recharging for 20-25 minutes. And if you turn on the turbo mode (maximum power and motorized brush), then 7-8 minutes. nine0003

In recent years, there have been many models on the market with replaceable batteries: while one is working, the second can be charged. This solution allows you to double the operating time of the vacuum cleaner or more if the charging time is minimal.

Briefly: if an additional battery is included in the kit, this is very good.

            Non-replaceable battery

Pay attention to the possibility of self-replacement of the battery: if it is not available, and it fails or simply “gets old” and loses its capacity, then the entire vacuum cleaner will either turn into a monument to human shortsightedness or be subject to expensive repairs. The qualifications of the average user to replace a non-replaceable battery, as a rule, are not enough, so you will have to pay not only for the spare part, but also for the workshop. nine0003

Briefly: when buying, it is better to clarify whether the battery can be replaced by yourself.

            Low power

Usually, if they want to praise a vacuum cleaner, they say “powerful”, but then there are purely marketing tricks: for example, an indication of the power consumption from the mains in the characteristics. Does this figure give at least some idea of the actual suction power? In our experience, it's very approximate.

With suction power, too, everything is not very clear: there is no single, common method for measuring it, so even if the manufacturer indicates this parameter in the characteristics of the device, it is not entirely clear what he measured and how. For example, we know the case when the suction power was indicated as the power developed by the "naked" motor unit - with the filters removed, without the pipe and nozzle. It is clear that in real conditions this value will be much lower. nine0003

Manufacturers of full-sized models usually list power consumption (eg 2000 W) and suction power (eg 400 W). For cordless vacuum cleaners, power - neither consumed nor suction - is sometimes not indicated at all: it looks very unprofitable against the background of the usual power parameters of corded vacuum cleaners.

If the suction power is indicated in the characteristics of the stick (this is already a good sign!), And if we assume that the manufacturer does not deceive us much, then in this case we need to focus on the following figures:

            • approx. 150 W - excellent
            • in the region of 100 W - good
            • in the region of 60-80 watts - still quite acceptable for most cases
            • approx. 40 W - suitable for cleaning lightly soiled rooms
            • less than 30 W is an "electric broom" and not a full-fledged vacuum cleaner

Briefly: if the suction power is not written or given in small print on the last page of the instructions, this means that you have an electric broom that will cope with a simple quick cleaning, but not with a general one. nine0015

            Unsuitable main nozzle

In some vertical models, this nozzle is designed to clean only smooth floors. Inside such a nozzle is a roller covered with soft synthetic material. As planned by the manufacturers (again, Dyson with a Fluffy nozzle was the first), such nozzles collect fine dust more thoroughly than ordinary brushes and turbo brushes, it is easier to remove wound hair from this roller than from a turbo brush roller. But keep in mind that such nozzles do a poor job of cleaning carpets - even with very small pile. Therefore, if you have carpets or carpet, such a nozzle may be additional, but not the only one. nine0003

By the way, if the nozzle has a built-in turbo brush roller (motorized brush with its own drive), then it is worthwhile to understand in advance the system for removing coiled hair and wool from it. In some models, you need to pull out the roller (and this is not always easy to do) - it is better if a groove is provided on the turbo brush roller, along which you can cut the wound with scissors.

And finally, about motorized brushes. What it is? The nozzle has a mini-motor that rotates the roller, pushing the debris to the suction hole and winding animal hair, hair, threads around itself. Super? Yes, but there is a nuance. A nozzle with a rotating roller is supposed to be moved in only one direction - forward, and not in the way that many are used to - back and forth. If you do not follow this rule, then part of the debris when moving the nozzle back simply spills out. nine0003

In a nutshell: choose the basic nozzle according to the types of flooring, pay attention to the ease of use of the nozzle and how to care for it.

            Contact with waste during disposal

All upright vacuum cleaners are bagless, i.e. with a plastic dust container. On the one hand, it is convenient - you do not need to buy bags, the level of filling the dust container is always visible. On the other hand, throwing out the contents of the container “at the touch of a button”, “with ease”, etc. is most often impossible: dust is in no hurry to “quickly and easily” leave its haven. You have to shake the container, knock on its bottom, and often help the intractable dust with improvised means (such as a knife, spatula, stick) or special devices that are included with some models. All this is not very pleasant, and if the user is allergic, it is doubly unpleasant. nine0003

For allergy sufferers, vacuum cleaners with high-quality filter bags are preferable, the disposal of which excludes contact with dust. And there are simply no such sticks among the sticks.

In short: it is not possible to completely avoid contact with dust when cleaning the container.

We are sure that the disadvantages of hand sticks will not block their convenience - it is only important to take into account the experience of other users and choose a vacuum cleaner without weak points that are personally significant for you.

            Author's profile

I chose an upright vacuum cleaner when I got tired of knocking corners with a heavy corded machine on wheels.

Yes, and constantly winding the power cord and switching between outlets in the midst of cleaning is a chore that does not motivate you to clean well.

Power is key when buying an upright cordless vacuum cleaner. I was worried that such models do not have a strong engine that would cope well with cat hair and long hair. nine0003

Another important criterion is not to overpay for advanced but unnecessary attachments and features. And it turned out that on sale you can find successful models for any task.

How to choose a vertical blast design

When you study the dust designers, it’s better not to read it in section " Characteristics" in detail - there is too much information, it distracts from the main parameters and is misleading. Therefore, I highlighted the criteria that you need to pay attention to in the first place. nine0003

Suction power. It is measured in watts, W, or aerowatts - aW.

The main problem with the design of cordless upright vacuum cleaners is that manufacturers underestimate the power of the model in an attempt to reduce weight. A light and inexpensive model can effectively remove dust from bookshelves, while wool and large particles of debris will remain in place. To cope with serious pollution, it is better to choose equipment with a power of 50 watts or more.

The main thing is not to confuse suction power and power consumption. The second parameter indirectly refers to the quality of cleaning - it only indicates electricity consumption. Often, it is the power consumption that flaunts on the packages, since it is more.

Another popular trick is to specify the maximum power in "turbo" mode, which reduces the average vacuum cleaner run time by two to three times. Check which mode the indicated power corresponds to.

            /guide/vacuum/

Which vacuum cleaner to buy for your home

Operating time without recharging. If the dust control front is a studio or a two-room apartment, you can take a device that runs on a single charge for up to 40 minutes. If you need to clean up three or more rooms and at the same time walk through upholstered furniture, you should take a closer look at vacuum cleaners that work autonomously from 40 to 60 minutes.

Cleaning type. Here you need to determine under what conditions you need a vacuum cleaner:

            1. Dry vacuum cleaners are the most popular models that can replace the classic corded model. They have good maneuverability, a large number of nozzles, but they will not clean tiles or laminate from dirty stains.
            2. Hybrid vacuum cleaners with a removable cloth - often sold by sellers as models with dry and wet cleaning, but inferior to full-fledged washing ones. They suck up dust and wipe the floor with a damp cloth, which is periodically moistened with water. They will cope with stains and smudges, but will not wash the floor after heavy pollution or spilled soup. nine0064
            3. Full-fledged washing models - equipped with a large clean water tank, because of this they gain weight and lose in maneuverability. But with such a vacuum cleaner, a mop or a rag will not come in handy. The nozzles of such vacuum cleaners, as a rule, are smaller than those of models with dry cleaning.

Number of nozzles. There can be a lot of nozzles in the kit - sometimes they make up almost half the cost of a vacuum cleaner. Here are the main types of nozzles that will definitely come in handy:

            1. Turbo brush - for cleaning long hair or animal hair. nine0064
            2. Target - for places where other nozzles will not fit.
            3. All-Purpose Roller - For high-quality yet gentle cleaning of hard surfaces.
            4. Narrow with brush - for cleaning furniture, curtains or bookshelves.

            From 29000 R

Xiaomi Dreame T20 is the best choice

The Xiaomi Dreame T20 is a good combination of build quality, feature set, power and price. The vacuum cleaner can clean short pile carpet, remove debris from tile crevices, or turn into a compact tool to clean the interior of a car without losing power. nine0003

At the same time, the parts are made of high-quality plastic - they do not wobble or bend. And the price is lower than the top Dyson or Samsung models: Xiaomi does not ask for an extra 30 or 50% of the cost for "European quality" and "brand history".

Xiaomi Dreame T20 has an excellent selection of attachments - they are hung on the docking station. The turbo brush is made with a V-shaped relief to separate long hair and get rid of it easily when brushing. There is also a soft roller - useful for owners of parquet or tiles. nine0003

For other applications, there is a crevice and narrow furniture nozzle. There is even a rag with Velcro, which is wetted with water from a small container - it is fastened to a nozzle with a soft roller. A rag is useful for collecting fine dust.

The vacuum cleaner also has a well-thought-out mechanism for autonomous operation. The set includes two batteries - while one is working in the vacuum cleaner, the second one is being charged in the docking station. If the charge is over, and the cleaning has not yet been completed, you can simply rearrange the battery to get another 30 minutes of autonomy. nine0003

How to choose a robot vacuum and not waste your money

There are a few other nice features. For example, you can switch the trigger of the handle to the “on / off” mode with a separate button so as not to constantly press it. Or choose a smart mode in which the vacuum cleaner will automatically switch power if it detects carpet.

            How much:

Alternative. nine0016 The Samsung Jet 75 Complete VS20T7536T5 vacuum cleaner is worth buying if you are still used to trusting brands with a history, and the absence of a damp cloth is not so critical for you. This model also does not have an additional battery, and the attachments will have to be stored in a box, and not on a docking station.

Basic cleaning nozzles - turbo brush and roller for hard surfaces. The latter has soft pads at the bottom: on the one hand, they additionally protect the parquet from scratches, on the other hand, dust and wool quickly stick to them. After cleaning, you will have to take time to clean the lining. nine0003

A nice addition is the motorized mini furniture nozzle. It will help to remove animal hair from a sofa or chairs, even if the hairs cling tightly to the fibrous structure of the upholstery.

Top 7 Wet & Dry Robot Vacuum Cleaners

Equalizes Power: The VS20T7536T5 peaks at 200 watts. This is a large suction power, however, in this mode, the battery will last from five to seven minutes - enough for one carpet or corridor. At minimum power, you can clean up to 60 minutes, but the suction power will drop by about two to three times. The noise level is higher than that of the Xiaomi Dreame T20, this is another confirmation of the increased power. nine0003

Another convenience is the easy cleaning of the dust container. The glass container is easy to remove from the motor unit and shake out over the trash can or rinse under the tap.

            How much:

            • in "M-video" - from 44 999 R;
            • in DNS - from Rs. For example, it can notify you of a drop in suction power: the device itself will determine the cause and offer to clean the pipe or dust collector. nine0003

The LED display turns the vacuum cleaner almost into a computer. On the screen, you can even find out the size of the garbage particles that have fallen into the container.

V15 Detect Absolute's unique feature is the laser light on the turbo brush. The laser illuminates even small dust particles, so as not to miss a single dirty area.

Power is fine too. The turbo suction rate is 240 watts, so that the user can vacuum even problem areas, such as extracting dust from a thick mattress or cracks in the parquet. There are no problems with cleaning any surface - in turbo mode, the Dyson V15 Detect Absolute cleans even a carpet with a long pile. nine0003

Includes three motorized nozzles and an elbow that changes the angle of the duct. For example, you can bend a pipe 90 degrees and use a conical rotor brush to clean clothes, bookshelves, or carpet on the wall if you have one left.

“I don’t understand the hype around Dyson”: the most reliable and inexpensive hair dryers

Average run time is 60 minutes, and if you vacuum smooth surfaces in economy mode at 57 watts of power, 83 minutes without recharging. nine0003

It is worth adding that for such a price it will not be possible to wash the floor: the model provides only dry cleaning. In addition, owners of Dyson cordless vacuum cleaners should be prepared to deal with the problem of loss of battery power a year or two after purchase. In this model, it is non-removable - you will have to give the vacuum cleaner to the service and endure dust for some time.

              How much:

              • in M-video — from 79,900 R;
              • on Yandex Market - from 60 240 R.

Alternative. Miele SMUL5 Triflex HX1 is a model from a German premium brand. Its turbo power is lower than that of a Dyson vacuum cleaner, 170 W, but this is offset by a reduced price and a useful feature - the ability to change the position of the motor.

For example, if you place it at the bottom, the load on the hand is reduced when cleaning large empty areas. If it is on top, it will be easier to crawl under furniture or a low table. There is also a unit without a tube with a nozzle for cleaning a car or removing local pollution in the kitchen. nine0003

There is no informative LED display here, but the manufacturer included a second battery in the kit - each of them allows you to clean up for 60 minutes. Thus, by changing the batteries, you can vacuum a two-story cottage in one go.

“Expectations greatly exceeded reality”: 15 expensive gadgets that can disappoint

            • on Yandex Market — from 49 990 R.

Another alternative. LG A9T Ultra 2 is an expensive model that not everyone can afford. She tries her best to recoup the high cost: there is an impressive-sized docking station that recharges batteries, is used as storage for accessories, and even cleans the vacuum cleaner container - it draws debris into itself through a special valve.

You can avoid contact with dust, but store it inside the docking station in a bag, periodically destroying bacteria with ultraviolet radiation. The volume of the bag is enough for two months - then you need to throw it away, but you can not come into contact with dust at all. nine0003

The premium quality is also reflected in the number of attachments. The LG A9T Ultra has two turbo brushes for dry cleaning, a wet cleaning nozzle with two rotating terry discs, classic crevice and narrow furniture nozzles, and a bed linen breaker nozzle. The latter is not often seen - it is equipped with a small hammer that knocks dust out of pillows and mattress so that the vacuum cleaner can immediately suck it up.

            /super-vacuum-review/

I lived with a vacuum cleaner for 115,000 R for two months - and for the first time in my life I liked cleaning

An expensive vacuum cleaner must be powerful - users get 210 watts in turbo mode, as well as a more modest 40 watts and 20 watts for "enhanced" and "normal" modes, respectively. In turbo mode, the A9T Ultra 2 battery can be discharged in 10-15 minutes, and in standard mode it will last up to an hour.

Polaris PVCS 4000 HandStickPro - the best of the budget

The PVCS 4000 HandStickPro comes with six attachments, which is rare for budget models. In addition to the universal roller and crevice nozzle, there is a mini turbo brush with a UV lamp for upholstered furniture that disinfects the surface during cleaning. Another useful accessory is an angled elbow with a hinge to vacuum behind a closet or sofa in the corner. Also, the vacuum cleaner can be transformed into a manual one for cleaning in a car.

The UV emitter only works when the nozzle wheels are lightly pressed against the surface. This is done to protect the eyes from ultraviolet radiation: if you raise the mini-turbo brush, the radiation will turn off. This mechanism has a peculiarity - you need to forcefully press the nozzle against a soft surface to activate the UV lamp. For example, if you vacuum a soft blanket. nine0003

How to choose a humidifier and use it correctly

The Polaris PVCS 4000 HandStickPro is lightweight and manoeuvrable thanks to its 2.5kg weight and top-mounted motor. Despite the lightness of the design, the suction power reaches 85 watts in turbo mode, and about 15 watts at minimum speed. This is enough for the vacuum cleaner to work up to an hour.

            How much:

            • on Yandex Market - from 17 990 R.

Alternative. Philips FC6404/01PowerPro Aqua is a more expensive option, but with a microfiber cloth for wet cleaning. The vacuum cleaner can be transformed into a manual module to clean the interior of a car or wardrobe.

There is no rich choice of nozzles, dry cleaning of all surfaces is done by the TriActive Turbo brush with electric drive. It even winds hair and wool too well - such garbage is difficult to clean off, you have to cut it with scissors.

The main advantage of the vacuum cleaner is the simultaneous operation of two nozzles. You can collect dust with a turbo brush and immediately wipe the floor with a damp microfiber - water will constantly wet it through two holes in the mounting platform. It does not look like a full-fledged washing vacuum cleaner at all, but a good help for those who need to wipe fine dust at the same time as dry cleaning.

Vacuum cleaner power - up to 115 W at maximum. Such a vacuum cleaner will remove dry debris from tiles or carpets, but if you need to clean trampled animal hair, you should choose a more powerful model. nine0003

Dreame h21 Max - the best washing

With the help of this vacuum cleaner, you can carry out a full-fledged wet cleaning - two large containers will help with this. The first one is for 900 ml of clean water, the second one is for collecting garbage and liquid mud of 500 ml. You can vacuum the food spilled in the kitchen in one sitting, remove the hair behind the cat and wash the parquet after the dirty paws of the dog that returned from the walk.

Not many attachments included - in most situations you will need to use the universal roller. It is enough for hard surfaces, but not for carpets: a wet roller will crush the pile, cleaning only the surface, and dirt will continue to accumulate inside. There is no thin crevice nozzle, so it will be harder to clean the skirting boards. nine0003

On the other hand, Dreame h21 Max does not crawl on the floor with a wet cloth, but honestly cleans different surfaces. Air, debris and dirty water are sucked in through a single hole behind the wash roller.

It would seem that the trash can and the motor at the bottom should reduce maneuverability, but the nozzle hinge allows you to tilt the handle up to 80 degrees horizontally and turn the brush up to 45 degrees right and left. However, the vacuum cleaner is still not as maneuverable as we would like, due to the weight of 5 kg.

How to safely buy equipment on the Internet: from Yandex Market to Aliexpress

Power almost falls short of the average - 40 W, but this is enough for complete removal even a heavy mud mixture with sand and large fragments of household waste. The maximum battery life is 35 minutes, it will take five hours to fully recharge the charge.

            How much it costs:

            • in DNS - from 29 999 R; nine0064
            • on Yandex Market — from Rs. Container for water - 680 ml, and for garbage - 480 ml. In addition to the universal washing roller, the set includes a turbo brush for carpets. With it, you can wind wool and comb out the carpet without "licking" it with a roller.

A useful feature for the owner who often cleans up after the animals is the self-cleaning function on the basis of recharging. If you pour clean water into the working tank, the device will drive it through the suction channel and the washing roller within a minute. nine0003

The vacuum cleaner can instantly switch between dry and wet cleaning - first quickly remove the spilled from the carpet, and then wash the dirt after the puppy on the linoleum. Suction power - 150 W at turbo speed and 130 W in normal mode. At the same time, the battery at the maximum power of the normal mode is consumed only three minutes faster - it makes sense to immediately turn on the turbo mode.
