Hickory Hill - Cozy Lake Cottage
Visbeen Architects
This cozy lake cottage skillfully incorporates a number of features that would normally be restricted to a larger home design. A glance of the exterior reveals a simple story and a half gable running the length of the home, enveloping the majority of the interior spaces. To the rear, a pair of gables with copper roofing flanks a covered dining area that connects to a screened porch. Inside, a linear foyer reveals a generous staircase with cascading landing. Further back, a centrally placed kitchen is connected to all of the other main level entertaining spaces through expansive cased openings. A private study serves as the perfect buffer between the homes master suite and living room. Despite its small footprint, the master suite manages to incorporate several closets, built-ins, and adjacent master bath complete with a soaker tub flanked by separate enclosures for shower and water closet. Upstairs, a generous double vanity bathroom is shared by a bunkroom, exercise space, and private bedroom. The bunkroom is configured to provide sleeping accommodations for up to 4 people. The rear facing exercise has great views of the rear yard through a set of windows that overlook the copper roof of the screened porch below. New Year's School Decoration - school facade and foyer decoration for New Year's Eve
A school for children can safely be considered a second home, because they spend a huge amount of time in it. And this is not only studying and acquiring useful skills, but also communicating with friends, celebrating various celebrations and preparing for them. And while New Year's for kids is all about holidays and staying at home, decorating the school to create a pre-holiday atmosphere is a beloved tradition.
At the same time, the holiday affects both the interior of the building and the school site. Bright design requires the facade, the entrance of the school, its corridors and classrooms. We must not forget about the assembly hall, because it is there that various entertainment events dedicated to the New Year will be held. But it is important to remember that the school is the world of children, and therefore its decoration has some nuances.
Features
Regardless of age, any student will appreciate the opportunity to get into a fairy tale. And it is not at all necessary that witches or valiant knights meet in all the corridors - after all, the school's budget is very limited. However, a decent design is quite possible without overwhelming financial costs, and its features do not cause problems:
· The entrance to the school should stand out clearly against the background of the entire building, decorations on the facade, stair railings and porch will indicate the approach of the New Year.
· On the school site, you can create a lot of scenery using inexpensive toys, tinsel, real snowmen and three-dimensional figures.
Trees can also be prepared for the holiday by using all sorts of decorative elements.
It is important to ensure the safety of children at school. For decoration, it is necessary to use waterproof illumination elements, non-flammable toys and not neglect the rules of proper installation.
· When decorating a school for the New Year, anything can be subjected to a festive change - walls, windows, hanging snowflakes and garlands from the ceiling, applying themed drawings to surfaces using washable paint. But at the same time, it should be remembered that, first of all, children must learn, therefore it is better to decorate the classroom without the use of flashing and sparkling LEDs that distract attention.
· On the other hand, the decoration of the school foyer can be organized on a grand scale - install a Christmas tree, figures of Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden, hang sparkling garlands.
· Another important point is the decoration of the stage, and larger decorative elements should be placed in the background.
· The territory of the spectators also requires festive decoration, but it is important not to overdo it - the scenery should not create discomfort. The best place to place various decorations will be the upper part of the wall, where the work of the designers will be clearly visible, but will not interfere with others.
Illumination
New Year is impossible to imagine without bright lights, fireworks, light shows, inscriptions and garlands. Conventional schools have limited opportunities to purchase expensive decorations, but for the most part, LED products are not very expensive. Even the design of the facade with garlands will not be overhead for the budget, and the installation of lighting will not cause difficulties. Of course, coniferous wreaths, snowflakes - both voluminous and cut out of plain paper, Christmas decorations, ice sculptures can also create a festive look. But in the coming twilight and darkness, LED structures will look truly fabulous, creating a unique atmosphere. You can make figures for the coming year out of LED strings, luminous fringe and curtains will look great on the windows, they can also decorate the background of the stage.
The advantages of LED decorations are undeniable:
· In addition to a bright visual effect, they can create unusual shapes.
These elements have a long service life, which exceeds the life of conventional lamps by at least five times.
LED designs can be stored without problems throughout the year. Moreover, if any lamp burns out, the remaining diodes will continue to work, since their connection is in parallel.
· The accessories used for lighting are so functional that you can decorate the school with them not only for the New Year, but also in preparation for almost any solemn event.
Another plus of such illumination is its efficiency in terms of electricity consumption.
Varieties of decorative elements
There are a great many design tricks with which you can make the New Year unforgettable. At the same time, you can use ready-made traditional elements to decorate the school - tinsel, toys, figurines of deer, snowmen, balloons, luminous garlands, or create decorations with your own hands using multi-colored paper, paints, glue, scissors and imagination.
However, when it comes to luminous designs, you should focus on garlands, especially since manufacturers offer to purchase all kinds of these products that can work in different modes - burn evenly, flicker, fade out and light up again, shimmer in different colors or combine several at once. modes.
The territory of the school, the facade of the building, the interior can be decorated with thread-like garlands, light curtains can be placed on the windows, which usually include all colors, cornices can be decorated with fringe. It is better not to place the light grid on the trees, avoiding damage to the wires, but on the stage of the assembly hall it will look amazing. Inscriptions for the New Year can be made from durolight, which is characterized by high flexibility and transparency of the shell - the LEDs are located inside the PVC tube. LED icicles, light three-dimensional figures will look great.
From these products you can create truly unique designs, for example, as in the picture above:
