Cream Kitchen Cabinet Ideas- View Larger Image
Cream kitchen cabinets have increasingly grown in popularity over the past few years – and for good reason! Cream is warmer than white and lends a timeless and luxurious look to a kitchen design. Cream-colored cabinets work in many different design styles, from modern to rustic, traditional, country, and farmhouse. They also are available in a wide variety of cabinet styles including shaker, recessed, and raised panel.
Cream is a soft hue that is as timeless as white or gray but warmer, making it easier on the eyes and helping to make any space feel less clinical. It also pairs effortlessly with any accent color or material, from brass finishes to dark woods.
Cream-colored kitchen cabinets instantly convey an elegant feeling that provides a warm and inviting feel to the space. Marble countertops, solid stone slab backsplashes, shaker style cabinets, wood, brick, or stone, all look beautiful with cream.
If you are presently researching different kitchen design options, I have created posts on blue, green, white and black kitchen cabinets as well as kitchen blacksplash and farmhouse kitchen cabinet ideas.
Cream Cabinets Pair Beautifully with PatternUsing a neutral like cream provides an opportunity to use color and pattern, because it’s so versatile. Try installing decorative flooring, unique backsplashes, and colorful area rugs – it creates a focal point and adds an interesting element to the space.

Studio McGee made dramatic changes to this kitchen re-design by completely switching the layout by moving the range and island to create this focal moment between the two. They used creamy Swiss Coffee on the cabinetry, and used Calcutta marble on the countertops and up the backsplash. They also created a closet like pantry in this corner so the space was easy to walk through.

Situated in the heart of Southampton’s village, this city dwellers surf retreat started with a disjointed open plan layout; taking it away from its original charming cottage architecture. Sectioning out the 1st floor, Becca Interiors were able to create cozy pockets throughout the space centering around the heart of the home; the Kitchen. Adding a bonus breakfast room looking out onto the veranda also allowed the traffic of the home to be completely repurposed; better capturing the Hamptons light, as well as focusing on functionality for this growing family. Custom clad beaded-shiplap walls visually lend to the heights of the ceiling and create an added layer throughout, whilst a vintage sourced mantle captures the spirit of the properties original charm.

Instead of completely revamping the home, Whittney Parkinson blended the old and new. Fortunately, the homeowners also shared a passion for maintaining the original makeup of this home. And, because of the historical significance of this dwelling, they would have had to get approval from the local historical society before making any changes to the exterior, so there were no major adjustments done to the structure.
“The renovation of the home’s original kitchen was by far the most significant undertaking during this extensive project, as this space was nearly doubled in size, thanks to an existing breakfast nook that was used to expand the width of this room. As for the furnishings, the minimalist beige cabinetry was a direct nod to the utilitarian aesthetic of a European kitchen from the 1920s, says Parkinson.
Much like the design process of the bedroom, design inspiration for the kitchen stemmed from notable television series—in this case, Downton Abbey and Peaky Blinders. Some design elements that were considered, thanks to these shows, include exposed hinges, corbels, inset cabinetry, subway tiles, and an oversized beadboard.” ~ House Beautiful

Ranch Style House Home Tour
This stunning ranch style house is perched high on a hilltop and nestled among the trees claiming its rightful place on a scenic 200-acre property in Texas. The owner desired an ample yet understated home with natural and simple architectural expression that would blend effortlessly into the landscape that surrounds it. Heavy timber columns and stone walls ground the home to the site. Reclaimed siding and simple barn-like structures give the architecture a sense of history and regional belonging. Referencing the owner’s love of the old west, many of the interior walls showcase the same stone and wood that is on the exterior of the home. This gesture alludes to a time when materials were not mass produced but simply gathered from the area and formed as needed.

She mingles sinuous profiles with hard lines, juxtaposing masculine and feminine silhouettes to create compelling, sensual spaces. Layered light is another crucial element bringing a sense of warmth, romance and contentment to Beth’s interiors.

Atlanta Traditional Country Home
Today we begin a tour of a stunning Atlanta home where the pallet was inspired by the home owner’s (Jane Hight) vast collection of blue-and-white Imari porcelain inherited from her mother and grandmother. Having served as the accountant for interior designer Lauren DeLoach for several years, it was natural for Hight to enlist the designer’s help when decorating her home. When it came to a color palette, the pair looked no further than Hight’s beloved family porcelain. “While we knew we would use blue, finding the right shade took some study,” says DeLoach. “We didn’t want a too-saturated hue, but we didn’t want it too pale. We also needed another color to add punctuation marks here and there, so the salmon hue came from the Imari porcelain.”

Country Home Tour
The small and compact English-style country home is 1,400-square-feet and situated on a sweeping pasture across from the Inn at Brays Island in South Carolina. The owners hired Interior Designer, Beth Webb to create a pastoral blend of Anglo and Low Country traditions. “It’s interesting how a house this tiny can be so INCREDIBLY LIVABLE. Inside, all that extreme verticality means the rooms feel neither contained or compressed. Plus the house has a beautiful orientation on the property, so there’s a lovely dappling of light morning, afternoon, and evening. We took advantage of this as much as possible, especially in the galley kitchen, which we designed as kind of a non-kitchen kitchen, a space that looks more like a sun-splashed garden room with that huge window. ”

White Kitchen Cabinet Ideas
Kitchen cabinets come in a wide variety of colors, with white being one of the most popular choices. One of the main benefits of white kitchens is that they never go out of style, they coordinate with everything and create natural light reflection. White kitchen cabinets are timeless and the perfect choice for those who want to create a blank canvas and plant to add interest with flooring, window treatments, artwork, and area rugs. White cabinets can instantly brighten a kitchen and provide the illusion of more space. To avoid creating a kitchen that feels cold, consider adding a splash of color or texture, and mixing white cabinets with contrasting countertops or backsplashes.

Hello and welcome! I’m Tracy Svendsen - an interior designer and the editor for Canadian Log Homes and Buyer Select.
My goal is to connect readers to the latest and most beautiful trends in farmhouse and rustic home design.
Having grown up in the country, I’ve always had an interest in rustic interiors. I studied design at Montana State and Ryerson University and later became a partner in a handcrafted log home company. Although I now live in a charming residential community by the ocean, my home still reflects my love for the modern rustic approach to design.
When I’m not working on my business, I love hiking with my German Shepherd Rose, working out and travelling. I also love visiting with my kids when they come home. My daughter is a doctor and is working towards becoming a surgeon, and my son is a civil engineer who until recently was living in New Zealand. I hope you enjoy going through my posts, and please let me know if you have any suggestions on future posts you’d like to see!

Cream-colored kitchen cabinets often find themselves on the former end of before-and-after transformations—chalk it up to suspicion of the hue left over from the aughts beige era. While it’s easy for off-white paint to look dated, it can equally set the scene for a cozy, sunny space. All it takes is hiring a painter you can trust (HomeAdvisor has your back) and being judicious with your shade selection. That’s where these pros come in.
We tapped seven designers to share their go-to creamy colors for revamping cupboards. What we learned: Undertones matter, and when it comes to sheen, a little gloss will be worth it in the long run (the only downside to lighter tones is their proclivity to show wear and tear faster). If you’re ready for a refresh, start with these picks.

Why they love it: “As if the name weren’t charming enough, it’s a hue that complements surrounding wood tones,” explains White. Use it to take the sterile sharpness out of glaring white kitchens—it’s neutral without the doctor’s office vibe. “Anytime you’re working with off-whites, it’s important to be cognizant of any blue, green, or even yellow undertones that they pull. Finding the perfect balance of those is key, and School House White is that,” adds Parkinson.
The pro tips: “Always, always make sure to get samples, or better yet, if you’re going the custom cabinetry route, have your cabinetmaker create samples for you,” says Parkinson. What you see on a chip is going to look different when applied on wood or laminate. White’s go-to trick once all the coats are dry? Adorning empty surfaces with earthy, worn-in vases. “Pieces with cracks and character are great for adding warmth to otherwise monotone palettes,” she points out.
Fine Paints of Europe RAL Collection 9016
RAL Collection 9016, Fine Paints of Europe
Recommended by: Delia Kenza
Why she loves it: “RAL Collection 9016 is not a very sexy name, but the shade is a soft, creamy white with some oomph,” says Kenza. The strange moniker relates to Europe’s RAL color-matching system, which provides the exact pigmentation of more than 200 hues.

The pro tip: Don’t be afraid to mix metals.“What I love about this color is that it is neutral enough that it will pair well with natural brass or stainless steel accessories,” says Kenza.
Sherwin-Williams Snowbound

Recommended by: Anita Yokota
Why she loves it: The slight gray undertone makes this pick perfect for mixing with chrome or silver finishes. “I try to stay away from overly yellow creams, because they can look dingy on walls over time,” explains Yokota. “But this one gives a depth that a cool white can’t offer.”
The pro tip: A matte finish might look chic on walls, but for a high-traffic area like the kitchen, it’s not realistic. Yokota suggests using at least a semigloss sheen on your cabinetry, so you can brighten the room (the finish also reflects light nicely) and simultaneously wipe up messes. “Sometimes for scuffs and nicks, I use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser; just don’t exert a lot of pressure or you’ll rub off the paint,” she adds.

Recommended by: Crystal Sinclair
Why she loves it: This lighter greige is the ideal crisp neutral. “It’s pure creamy goodness!” says the designer. “It works well with just about any accent color you may use in the tile, countertop, or paint.”
The pro tip: Go high-contrast with black cabinets and matching hardware. “Another fun styling idea is to mix a bold color or rich wood tone in the base cupboards with cream uppers,” she says.

Why she loves it: “It has the tiniest hint of blue and green, which adds sophistication,” says Huh. She typically steers clear of all-white kitchens, but when the situation calls for it—for example, a patterned floor and/or veiny stone counters that need a simple foil—she’ll whip out a cream hue to tone it down.
The pro tip: “A warm, colorful stone, like Cambria’s Mayfair or Cosentino’s Laurent, on the backsplash or countertops would be a gorgeous combination,” she recommends.
Farrow & Ball Slipper Satin

Recommended by: Kevin Greenberg of Space Exploration Design
Why he loves it: It’s all about the lighting—in projects that get a lot of afternoon shadow or are typically flooded with light, this buttery shade is great for adding depth. “It’s nice if you want to nod toward traditionalism in the millwork but also want things to still mostly read as white,” he says.

The pro tip: “I think cream-colored cabinets beg for a more traditional construction style—like drawers and doors with a shallow recessed panel,” says Greenberg. He also suggests mixing in different white hues for an unexpected touch. Who says neutrals can’t be nuanced?

Kitchens of different colors in the interior - designers' advice on choosing colors for the kitchen and 95 photos
The choice of color for the kitchen set depends on how you would like to see the kitchen after all the work is completed. It can be calm or tonic, effective or calming, bright or gentle. Consider in this article the basic rules and advice from designers on choosing colors for the kitchen.
Designer tips on how to choose the right kitchen color and what to watch out for:
* Do not use more than two colors in one kitchen set.
* If the kitchen set is designed in two colors, then the color of the upper cabinets should be lighter in tone than the lower cabinets.
* A monochromatic kitchen looks better when it is made of colors ranging from light beige to dark brown, pleasant, calm and not too flashy. A plain kitchen looks good if the kitchen space is not large.
* Only one color should be the dominant color in the headset if the headset is made in different colors.
* Different colors of the kitchen unit must be combined with each other.
The starting point in the design of the interior of the kitchen should be furniture.
If you are planning to buy brightly colored furniture, it is advisable to make walls in calm, neutral colors.
And vice versa, a monochromatic and not bright kitchen set requires more catchy, contrasting walls and surrounding decor.
The following color combinations are popular in one set: black and white, black and pink, black and red, black and orange, red and gray, red and white, yellow and blue, beige and gray, green and light yellow, dark brown and light brown, brown and beige, orange and dark brown, lilac/purple and yellow, burgundy and light pink, green and brown.
* In a small kitchen space, you do not need to use dark saturated colors.
Remember that a light color visually enlarges the space.
* A room with a large area will become more comfortable if the light suite is supplemented, "diluted" with bright accents.
* Too dark a kitchen set, even in a large kitchen, can create a gloomy atmosphere.
* The colors of nature are best suited to the color of kitchen furniture.
The best color combinations in one kitchen set:
- White - goes well with almost all colors. Best with blue, red and black; - Beige - matches blue, brown, gray and white; - Gray is a neutral color that can be used as a base color. Pairs well with beige/cream, pink, red, purple, brown, blue; - Pink - brown, white, olive, gray, turquoise matches this color; - Red - ideally combined with yellow, white, green, blue and black, combination with gray is also possible; - Brown - with bright blue, cream, pink, green, beige, light brown; - Orange - with blue, blue, lilac, violet, green; - Yellow - with blue, lilac, light blue, gray, black, lilac; - Green - goes well with golden brown, yellow, black, light beige; - Blue - to red, gray, orange, pink, white, yellow; - Blue - to purple, green, yellow, orange, red; - Lilac - to yellow, green, brown, beige; - Black is a universal elegant color. Looks good with all colors. Best combined with orange, pink, green, white, red, yellow. Color plays a huge role in a person's life, it affects well-being, mood, performance, relationships. The kitchen is an important part of our home, we spend a lot of time there, so choosing the color of the walls for this room should be taken seriously.
Basic rules for choosing wall colors for the kitchen:
- A large pattern visually reduces the size of the room.
- A small pattern, on the other hand, makes the room appear larger than it really is.
- Geometric patterns on the walls of the kitchen in the form of intersecting stripes, like the ornament on Scottish kilts, create the illusion of a continuous space.
- Vertical pattern "raises" the ceilings, visually "increasing" the height of the room.
- The horizontal pattern and horizontal stripes on the walls expand the kitchen while reducing its height.
- Diagonal lines on the walls bring dynamism to the kitchen interior, creating the illusion of movement.
- Textured wallpapers look very extraordinary. By endowing the surface of the walls with new qualities, they are able to create an additional dimension in the room. Thanks to the play of shadows and partial shadows, curious color nuances and unexpected alternations of textures, you can get a lot of interesting effects.
- When choosing the color of your kitchen, keep your own tastes and preferences in mind.
- Undoubtedly, the kitchen set must be in harmony in color with other design solutions of the room: ceiling, walls, floor. However, first of all, its color should cause you only positive emotions. Psychologists do not get tired of repeating that the coloring of the things around us directly affects the character, mood, well-being and even performance.
Each person has an individual approach to the choice of color, so you should figure out what will be relevant for the kitchen, and what can hardly be called the right decision.
Let's take a closer look at the main color options:
Red - This color is considered one of the most intense, bright, impressive and eye-catching. However, do not forget that it can not only arouse appetite, but also inappropriately increase blood pressure. Psychologists say that such a solution for the kitchen is preferable for people who are strong-willed, self-confident and able to always keep any situation under control. Psychologists have come to the conclusion that bright red furniture should not be installed by those who regularly diet, wanting to lose weight.
Pink - This shade of red can have different effects on a person - it all depends on the saturation. However, he is not so aggressive, but, on the contrary, carries a tendency to calm and tranquility. Pastel shades of pink are able to improve mood, give a feeling of lightness and tenderness, but crimson ones - awaken appetite, increase tone, excite, make people more emotional.
Orange - If the lady of the house chooses this color for her kitchen furniture, she will always win. The fact is that it is orange shades that moderately increase appetite, and communication in such a bright environment is always relaxed and easy. This is one of the reasons why such tones are chosen in many modern cafes and restaurants. They are considered the key to movement, dynamics and communication. Who should choose such a solution? First of all, those people who are used to quick snacks are active and purposeful.
Yellow - A yellow kitchen will be filled with light, warmth, comfort and boundless good mood all year round. This choice is most often inclined to cheerful and loving people who love to start their day with beauty. Even in cloudy weather, when it is autumn or winter outside, it will always be sunny and clear in a yellow kitchen. Experts say that this color awakens the "muse" in creative people, and also contributes to the manifestation of imagination, prompts a desire to experiment, including in culinary business. A variety of shades allows you to choose the best one, but it should be borne in mind that too bright contributes to anxiety, and dim - a breakdown.
Green - Green has long been considered the most pleasant color to perceive. It evokes a feeling of calmness, and the interior in such colors gives people comfort and a sense of security. In addition, it is a symbol of growth, life, development, relaxes, protects from stress, nervous overload. Choosing a green kitchen is for those people who do a lot of work, read, work, and also regularly experience psychological or physical stress. In addition, scientists have found that this coloring is able to reduce pain in the abdominal cavity, harmonizes the general condition of the body.
Blue - A blue kitchen is sure to give its owners a sense of calm. It is natural that such an environment will evoke associations with relaxation, sea, sky, water. Well, how can you not relax here? Paradoxically, scientists have found that the popularity of blue shades increases at times when a country or the world as a whole is experiencing crises, including economic ones. It's easy enough to explain. It is the heavenly colors that are a sign of security, trust and even devotion. If there are those in the house who want to say goodbye to excess weight forever, then it is worth acquiring a kitchen in a bright blue color, since, unlike red, it perfectly fights hunger, dulling it.
Violet/Lilac - Violet kitchen is always a bit of a daring option, which always reeks of brightness. Many are inclined to this choice, knowing about some mystical properties of such shades - to attract wealth, strength and power. Nevertheless, it is the purple color that is considered an expression of sensuality, subtlety. To make such a kitchen look luxurious and stylish, you should pay attention to the right combination of shades and accessories. Calm tones, in turn, will create a unique romantic atmosphere in this corner of the house, where it will be pleasant not only to cook and eat, but also to receive guests with a cup of fragrant tea.
Brown - In most apartments today you can find kitchens in brown made of wood or "under it". This is not surprising, because such a color gives a feeling of confidence, stability, trust, comfort. In addition, it is considered the most neutral, since, in most cases, it does not affect the general well-being or mood. It is worth noting that brown is one of the most combinable colors, as most of the others are combined with it.
Black - A kitchen in black is, as they say, an amateur. The fact is that many modern people are prone to prejudice and consider this color to be mournful, mystical, dark. However, designers prove the opposite and, with a skillful combination of accessories, turn the black kitchen into a stylish and presentable room, which, in addition to everything, looks spectacular and harmonious. This is a classic that will remain relevant and in demand at any time. Most often, black is combined with white, red and orange.
White
The indisputable advantage of such a kitchen is the visual expansion of space. Also, this color is able to soften combinations of any, the brightest shades. It is known that it is completely impractical, but it always looks stylish, spectacular, expensive. However, you should not get carried away too much, as the abundance of white can cause eye strain and even headaches.

Therefore, designers recommend that you first decide on the choice of color and style of the kitchen set, and then be puzzled by the surrounding decor, because. with a selection of wallpapers, tiles, curtains, etc. it is much easier to decide when the color of kitchen furniture is known.
What kitchen design trends will be the most relevant in the next couple of years?
In general, all the most interesting, relevant and popular you will find on one site.
Fashionable kitchen - layout features
Interior designers are increasingly making the kitchen part of the integrated space, if the size of the room allows. The kitchen-dining-living room, decorated in the same style, can be found in typical city apartments of different sizes, and in country houses built according to an individual project.
A characteristic feature of such furniture is hanging and floor cabinets with opaque smooth facades: matte or glossy, beautiful glass facades are often used in the interior of the kitchen. Cabinets and cabinets mask kitchen utensils and other "household" details. Often, kitchen-living room sets are complemented by open glass shelves with beautiful lighting. The visual boundary between the kitchen and living areas is usually the kitchen island or bar counter.
Furniture in light wood colors is gradually giving way to dark, deep browns in rich shades.
