Yes, it's possible to play javelin in your garden without the threat to life. The only difference is that the javelin will actually be pool noodles. These are inexpensive and easy to find online.
The original rules state that the furthest throw wins. However, for your garden version, you can set some targets. For example, buy a cheap hula hoop and tie it to a branch, or ask a willing friend to hold it.
The person to throw the javelin through the hula hoop gets points. Or, stack a pile of tins up in a pyramid shape and see who can knock it down with their javelin.

You want your guests to feel like they've stepped onto a paradise island. So, a bar is vital for your outdoor garden party. But, before you start splurging the cash, consider making one.

1. Blankets, pillows, bedding
Blankets, pillows, picnic mats, sun umbrellas, sunbeds - all this is the main must have for any outdoor pastime, whether it's a party with friends or just a summer tea in the garden. Stock up on this in advance, so that later, if necessary, quickly equip an outdoor recreation area.

And don't forget the dishes. Porcelain of light shades with floral, marine motifs, glass (transparent and colored), ceramics are well suited for serving a summer table. Also, for tea drinking in the fresh air, you can use bowls with traditional oriental ornaments and light bowls made of colored transparent plastic (such are the Italian brand Kartell).

For such a decor, both purchased candlesticks (sold at IKEA, as well as in all large hardware stores such as Leroy Merlin or OBI) and home-made ones, having built them from ordinary glass jars, are suitable. To attach candlesticks to branches, use metal wire, household twine or tape.

You can build it from a piece of light translucent fabric, simply by hanging it on the branches of a tree. Instead of fabric, you can use a canopy for a crib, shawls or a pareo with a colorful ethnic pattern.
You can cover the ground with polyethylene or tourist foam, and put a beautiful carpet or a bright blanket on top and throw in pillows - this way you will get a beautiful oriental-style tent.
5. Decorative pompoms
When the weather permits, you can hang these decorative pompoms in your garden. Children especially like them, invariably causing them delight, so this decor is good for children's birthdays and holidays.

Each animator has favorite win-win contests in his piggy bank, which are successfully “spinning” at any children's holiday, while I want to show a wide variety of thematic scenarios in my portfolio.
What to do?
The way out, in my opinion, should be as follows: games and entertainment should be selected taking into account the age of the children and the number of participants in the holiday. And after that, you can “dress up” the finished program, slightly adapting it to the theme chosen by the customer.
Princesses, participating in the relay race, will run with peas, pirates will put gold coins in the chest. The meaning is the same - two teams of children compete. I'm right?

Let's support the circus theme with descriptions of standard competitions and relay races: we walk on a tightrope (rope on the floor), trained dogs perform funny commands, we juggle balloons, we learn to perform tricks.
Any animator has a clown outfit, and for children we select spouts, paper caps, ears, bow ties, masks. The face painting is appropriate.
Fairy tales and cartoons
There are so many options that it is completely pointless to list them.
You can be Shrek and Fiona, Masha and the Bear, Pinocchio and Malvina, Barbariki, Fixiki and so on.
If you still can't decide, we make a fabulous mix. An animator can be just a storyteller or a magician.
We use the same relay races and competitions, only we change the verbal description: we save the princesses, put the cones in baskets, make jam, look for the golden key. Well it is clear.
Props for competitions: an old mysterious book with fairy tales, a magic wand, confetti.
Pirate party (or just a nautical-themed birthday party)
A very popular theme for a children's party, as it is easy to decorate the room, find costumes and props. Some of my ideas are detailed HERE.
It would be nice to have a few bandanas with skulls, vests (in any seaside city you can buy thin sleeveless children's ones), toy pistols and pirate knives. Treasure chest won't hurt.
Reworking our favorite contests: sinking ships, putting one coin into a chest, arranging battles with long sausage balls, catching fish and handing out black marks.
Around the world
On a hot day in nature, we entertain the Papuans or arrange a Hawaiian party. With costumes, I think there will be no particular problems, everything is made of corrugated paper.
I refer travel to the past to the same topic. Cowboys and Indians, Robin Hood, Romans and Egyptians, primitive people.
In the description of the competitions we include the relevant terms: wigwams and arrows, sarcophagi with mummies, mammoths with dinosaurs.
Princesses and fairies
This is, of course, more for girls. A very beautiful theme, little beauties are happy to put on New Year's dresses on any day of the year, decorate their heads with tiaras. Here is the scenario of our quest for princesses (7-9years).
Decorating your room and table is easy as the stores offer a huge selection of ready-made decorations. By the way, invitations, cards for guests, a wall newspaper and flags for canapés can be downloaded for free on my website.
The princesses take turns sleeping on a pea, trying on glass slippers, learning to dance at a ball, and receiving prizes for the Best Sleeping Beauty.
Quest "Mysterious Island", "Mysterious Castle" or "Night at the Museum"
It's hard to manage with standard competitions, such themes of children's holidays are intended for children 9-12 years old, require thorough training.
The main idea is the search for a treasure, accompanied by solving charades and puzzles, the keys to riddles. It would be nice to talk with ghosts and shrewd elders :-).

Aliens, space
It is easy to pick up accessories (huge ears, wigs) and face painting for this theme. The main thing is that no one knows exactly how guests from other planets look like.
Let's add names of planets, flying saucers and unusual space food to the description of competitions.
The animator can be a humanoid or a space robot.
Here is my script for graduation in kindergarten on a "cosmic" scale.
Science and professions
Chemistry experiments of a mad professor are now popular. This is a show program with the participation of the audience.
Soap bubble shows and magic tricks belong to the same category. The host needs a lot of special props and special skills.
If we are talking about a regular game program, you can dedicate a holiday to one or more professions. Let doctors, firefighters, astronauts, cooks and hairdressers compete in relay races.

Filming!
We go through all the stages with the children - from writing a script, casting roles, make-up and rehearsals to filming a movie and awarding an Oscar. Here is the Hollywood script on our website.
Great theme for kids aged 10+, but they don't know phrases from old movies, so just change them to quotes from famous fairy tales.
By the way, the entertainment program with parodies of famous TV projects is also going great! I advise you to look at my version of such a scenario.
