Oprah Winfrey recently purchased Jeff Bridges's Spanish-Revival estate in Montecito for $6.85 million, the same amount Bridges and his wife, Susan Geston, paid for the property in 2014.
Situated on four impressive acres of gardens, the house is 3,517 square feet and was originally built in 1919 by famed architect James Osborn Craig.
The house has a high-end kitchen with appliances a professional chef would be pleased with, plus quartz countertops. There's a master bathroom with a marble and glass shower, plus teak flooring with hydroponic heat, too. And, as understated as the house looks, it is pure laid-back luxury.

The four-acre complex features five separate structures: a beautiful stucco-clad main house, fully-fitted guesthouse, pool house, carriage house and gated equestrian facility with stables – all in the impressive Spanish Revival style that became common in the American West and Southwest in the early 20th century.

Montecito is a sought-after neighborhood at the western tip of Santa Barbara with commanding views over the Pacific Ocean.
A well-kept area with lush landscapes and greenery, the neighborhood has recovered from the 2018 Thomas Fire that destroyed many of the area’s homes.
Though Oprah’s and Jeff’s homes remained safe with little damage to the grounds, Gwyneth Paltrow’s home sustained damage and Ellen DeGeneres and wife, Portia de Rossi, had to evacuate.

Wally Gudgell, the agent who represented Oprah in the sale, reportedly said, “They were in the process of remodeling and they just realized in that process they were never going to be able to use it properly and it doesn’t make any sense.
” While the property was not formally listed, the deal marks the highest price ever paid for an Orcas Island property, sources familiar with the sale told the Biz Journal.

The NY Post reported that none other than Jennifer Aniston splashed out just under $14.8 million (£12m) on the Tuscan-style farmhouse main residence, while Winfrey’s longtime personal trainer bought the other half of the estate—comprising of two cottages—for $2.3 million (£1.9m), providing Oprah with an impressive $6.5 million (£5.3m) profit.
