All the prettiest paint colors fit for a farmhouse in the fall.

Just in case the changing leaves outside have inspired you to change the hues inside your home, we've rounded up a few of our favorite new rustic paint colors for you to consider. Dark, moody tones are trending, while three variations of black were dubbed the 2018 Color of the Year by PPG Paints, Glidden Paints, and Olympic Paints & Stains.

Soothing neutrals and blues also set the scene for cozy country living: Behr selected a restorative blue-green hue as their 2018 Color of the Year and introduced creamy whites and sandy beiges to promote relaxation.

Of course, there are also a few rustic reds and greens on this list that seem to steal their pretty pigments directly from fall foliage itself. And with names like Felted Wool, Spicy Hue, Half-Caff, and Marshmallow, some of these shades even sound like autumn.

many countries have a flower symbolizing the country. I heard that there is also a color that symbolizes the country. But it's hard to imagine, because there are few primary colors, other shades ...
Google does not know anything about this, so I'm asking you.

there are such colors. A few usually. They are often combined in the country's heraldic symbol, called the state or national flag.

Orange is the heraldic color of William of Orange, who led a popular uprising against the Spanish crown. In 1581 the Netherlands became an independent republic. In 1630, the flag, officially adopted in 1599, was partially changed: the monarchist orange stripe was replaced with a revolutionary red one. Later, unsuccessful attempts were made to restore the orange color on the flag, and despite the restoration of the House of Orange, which still rules today, the red-white-blue tricolor remained. But as a sign of respect for the royal house, on the days of celebrations and holidays, they also raise the orange pennant of the monarchical dynasty .

Color is one of the most important components of communication in business. It can be an effective tool to help convey important ideas to the audience and draw attention to the product. Or it can play against the business if used incorrectly or inappropriately.

At the same time, even basic shades can evoke completely different emotions in representatives of different cultures. For example, in the West, black symbolizes death and is used in clothing during mourning, while in Egypt it is associated with rebirth. In the modern world, distant cultures increasingly intersect, so it is useful to know the symbolism of color in other countries.

To help you navigate the global color palette, we've put together a short guide based on the research of Surya Vanka, Associate Professor of Art and Design at the University of Illinois.

Vanka is an international color attribute expert and author of ColorTool: Cross-Cultural Meanings of Color multimedia software. With this program, designers select colors for products sold internationally.

UK

British color traditions are rooted in the rich history and culture of the country:

  • In the UK, there are so-called "royal" colors that are associated with the monarchy - these are rich shades, such as purple, blue, red and green. They have penetrated every corner of British life.
  • The royal blue and red on the flag symbolize both the monarchy and the democratic government of the UK.

Egypt

Egypt - an ancient state with rich and influential traditions:

  • The colors of the Egyptian flag indicate the revolution in the country (white), a promising future (black) and the struggle against colonial rule left in the past (red).
  • Green, sacred to Muslims, is considered the national color of the country.

Zambia

The arts, traditions, beliefs and rituals of Zambia are usually illustrated with simple colors:

  • On the flag of Zambia, green symbolizes agriculture and the benefits that it brings.
  • Orange reflects mineral wealth.
  • Black corresponds to the Zambian people.
  • Red reminds of the country's struggle for freedom and independence.

India

Vibrant colors in arts, crafts, clothing and much more are a hallmark of everyday life in India:

  • Almost every color in India has a well-defined meaning in religious and cultural traditions. Green is sacred to Muslims and Parsis (Zoroastrians), while orange, or saffron, has a special religious meaning to Hindus.
  • Red symbolizes purity and sensuality.
  • Yellow is associated with the god Vishnu.
  • Green is a festive color that signifies life and happiness.

Iran

In Iran, colors and their associated associations are taken very seriously because they are strongly associated with religious traditions:

  • Red represents the color of sunset.
  • White is the main color worn by the Prophet Muhammad.
  • Green is the most sacred: this is the color of Muhammad's turban.

China

The inhabitants of China have always attached great importance to color and actively used the symbolism of different shades throughout their rich history: red is fire and black is water.

  • Red is a particularly important color in Chinese culture, and not just because of its association with the revolution. It has always been widely used in wedding ceremonies and other celebrations, symbolizing prosperity and happiness.
  • Columbia

In Colombia, colors connect the world and its people through long-standing traditions

    • The colors of the country's liberal and conservative parties, red and blue, are featured on the flag.
    • According to Colombian folk beliefs, diseases also have color. "Light" diseases (white, red and yellow) are curable, while "dark" diseases (black, blue and green) are incurable.

    Melanesia

Color symbolism in warm tropical Melanesia reflects the surrounding nature of the country:

    • Red and yellow are the main festive colors in this region; black and white are ritual colors.
    • A red-painted face of a person is a sign of status and power; black symbolizes beauty.

    Mexico

Mexico's color palette is a mixture of historical and natural associations:

    • All the colors of the Mexican flag are symbolic: green stands for independence or hope, white expresses purity and unity, and red symbolizes the blood of patriots and other heroes.
    • Bright reds and yellows are associated with the traditional fiesta, while reds and whites have a religious connotation, symbolizing the passion of Christ and purity.

    Nigeria

Colors play an important role in almost every aspect of daily life in Nigeria today:

    • The colors of the Nigerian flag symbolize agriculture (green), peace and unity (white).
    • Red has a whole palette of meanings: prosperity, vitality and aggression.
    • Black is almost always considered an intimidating color.

    New Zealand

The color traditions of modern New Zealand are based on the culture and art of the ancient Maori:

    • Red and green are sacred and very important colors in New Zealand.
    • Black, red ocher, white and silver are considered the national colors of the country.

    Peru

The color traditions of the country are based on the culture of the indigenous people of Peru:

    • White is the color associated with angels, good health and time. In combination with red, white takes on a patriotic meaning.
    • Red can symbolize a healthy soul, and for some indigenous peoples, it is a symbol of the earth.

    US

The colors combined on the flag of the country - red, white and blue - a symbol of patriotism:

    • The red and white stripes of the same width on the American flag represent the first 13 states that formed an independent state.
    • The blue square and white stars represent the 50-state government.

    Tibet

In Tibet, colors are closely associated with many aspects of daily life - natural elements, human emotions and even the days of the week:

    • The red color on the Tibetan flag symbolizes the male guardian deity and is associated with light, fire, anger and the ferocious nature of the gods.
    • The blue color on the Tibetan flag corresponds to a female guardian deity.

    Ukraine

An important part of the country's color traditions lies in pysanky - Ukrainian Easter eggs - and their bright, patterned forms:

    • Yellow on Easter eggs means light and purity, orange means strength. Black symbolizes fear and death. Brown is associated with the earth, blue with good health, white with innocence, and purple with faith and trust. Green symbolizes fertility or hope, while red represents action or awakening.

    Ethiopia

Ethiopia is the oldest independent state in Africa, and the colors of its flag eventually came to symbolize the identity of the entire continent:

    • The red on the country's flag stands for the heroism of the country's patriots in the struggle for independence; yellow - peace, love and harmony, green - earth and fertility.
    • These colors have become a symbol of independence on the continent and can now be seen on the flags of many African countries.

    South Africa

South Africans call their country a "rainbow nation" because of its many ethnic groups:

    • Black and red are almost synonymous, representing both good and evil.
    • White, apart from other colors, symbolizes goodness.

    Japan

Both soft and intense colors are important symbols in Japanese coloring:

    • Red is perhaps the most expressive color in Japan. It is believed to ward off the devil. The use of red on the flag symbolizes life and energy.

Knowing the color traditions around the world will help you use the "right" colors in design and communication. It is also a great way to get acquainted with the local culture and its seemingly invisible features, which often provide a clue to understanding the national character as a whole. And if you are familiar with the worldview of people, it is much easier to find a common language with them.
