Today, there are various groups of lighting products, but most companies classify them in the same way as the largest manufacturers.

Ceiling pendant lights

Ceiling pendant luminaires can be installed as a suspension system or separately. In the latter case, the installation of a pendant lamp is more appropriate. The range of such devices on the modern market is quite diverse, ranging from primitive linear fluorescent lamps, which are considered universal, to more complex lamps. Today, such lamps are fundamentally different from those that could be purchased in Soviet times with unpleasant cold light and pulsating tubes - educational institutions, hospitals and entrances were equipped with such lamps.

Modern fluorescent lamps produce soft and pleasant light, work reliably and allow original ideas to be realized in rooms. You can install them almost anywhere without restrictions: not only on the ceiling, but also on the walls, as well as in cabinet niches, that is, wherever additional lighting may be needed.

In order to avoid glare and to achieve an even distribution of light, these lamps are equipped with a mirror armature, which has a structure with cells.

Special diffuser shades with a matt smooth or corrugated surface can also be used. Such decorative elements make the light calmer and more pleasant for perception, and also give the lamp a special originality.

Ceiling recessed luminaires

These products are typically fitted with tubular fluorescent lamps and are ideal for mounting under ceiling systems. Recessed ceiling lights are most often used today to illuminate halls, offices and other similar premises.

For high-quality installation of such lighting fixtures, it is necessary to take into account the configuration of the guides of a particular suspension system. It is also worth paying attention to the size of the cells for installing the plate, usually they are 600x600mm in size - these are exactly the dimensions of the lamp that will be installed in them.

Downlights

These luminaires are usually recessed and cast light into the floor. They typically work with compact fluorescent, metal halide, HID, and halogen lamps. The light hole in such lighting fixtures is usually round or rectangular in shape, and the first option is considered universal, as it can easily fit into any interior.

Downlights will help you create a cozy atmosphere in your home and give you the opportunity to show your imagination. In this light, all interior items will look more embossed and clear, which will give the room a more pleasant, attractive look. The luminaires shown can be pivoted or fixed, and most of them are mounted in false ceilings or as a decorative panel in furniture. They can also be installed as ordinary ceiling lights.

How to highlight certain areas in a room with light

This effect can be achieved with a reflective or diffuse system. As a rule, they consist of a decorative stand, a small leg, an optical element or a ceiling. Also, in one design, several lamps can be combined, which are attached to the ceiling or walls in such a way that the movable heads can be independently directed to certain places. Such lighting is always installed together with conventional ceiling lights.

Lighting fixtures for special purposes

These products include various emergency luminaires that are equipped with power supplies. Such devices turn on automatically when the main system fails. Such lamps are extremely functional, so their design is limited to simple straight lines. On the ceiling of such lighting devices there are stickers indicating the direction of movement in emergency situations.

Use of spotlights

Simple lighting fixtures do not always meet the needs of homeowners. This is due to the fact that even in the same room several light sources of various types can be used. After all, different rooms require different light sources. This is especially true for those interior spaces that have already been divided by their owners into certain zones.

It is worth noting that the emergence of point light sources on the consumer market was primarily a need for a congruent combination of lighting and apartment layout. For example, spotlights, which have become very popular when mounted on suspended ceilings. At first, they led to the surprise of their owners, but at the moment they no longer cause such enthusiastic feelings. These types of spotlights are simply screwed into the ceiling panels during installation. Therefore, in a short time they received a lot of positive feedback and began to be widely used for the design of many interiors of interior spaces. This type of lamps is divided into several types: there are incandescent lamps and halogen lamps. At the same time, incandescent lamps are much larger than halogen counterparts. This is due to the fact that the first type of fixtures has integrated light bulbs, which are similar in their design features to simple incandescent lamps, but are based on mirror-matte bulbs. They also protect the lamps from overheating. Light from such sources is brighter. Since such lighting fixtures are installed in rooms where there are suspended ceilings, several units are mounted. This is due to the fact that light from lighting fixtures reflected from the ceiling can enter the room. Such lighting devices have a long service life. For example, if such a lighting device is installed in a room where the use of light does not exceed one hour, then such devices can be used for quite a long time.

Luminaires, which are made for incandescent lamps, also come in several types in the form of open (U-shaped) and closed with a protective casing. The latter type is a kind of protective shell, which makes it possible to use it for rooms with a high level of humidity. These types of lamps are easy to replace, which cannot be said about halogen counterparts. After all, when installing halogen lamps, the fixing ring is first removed, and then the lamp is mounted in the same place. Lighting devices with halogen lamps have optimal dimensions. At the same time, a simple lamp includes a flask with evacuated air and a tungsten filament, which is located in an airless space. But in halogen analogues, the flask is filled with an inert gas and halogen (a mixture of bromine and iodine). In this regard, the latest lighting devices shine much brighter than simple incandescent lamps. It should be noted that the range of halogen lamps is much wider than simple ones. For example, halogen bulbs with a reflector in the form of a conical shade can be mounted in lamps with the obligatory application of a mirror layer. If we talk about ceiling lamps, then they are closed and open. In the second case, the lighting device is closed with glass from exposure to dirt and dust. It is important to remember that the replacement of a halogen bulb is carried out using a napkin. If you do otherwise, then such a lamp will quickly deteriorate. If you touch such a light bulb with your bare hand, then it will leave prints.
