The house is called Kenjockety' (Native American for 'Far from Noise'), and sits on six acres of land with 500ft of waterfront land and a 200ft deep water dock.

Robin was one third of The Bee Gees, whose record sales are estimated in excess of 200 million, and sang alongside his twin brother Maurice and older brother Barry Gibb. He passed away in May 2012 following a battle with cancer.

The singer owned the property in the 1980s, and presumably used it as a retreat to relax away from the spotlight.

Tucked away in an Oxfordshire town lies a house with a history more colourful than most. Once owned by pop royalty, and with a host of historical figures walking through its doors, it has a very intriguing past.

Known as 'The Prebendal', the Grade II* listed property in Thame, at Priest End, was a former monastery where the fate of Joan of Arc was decided. It housed the Bishop of Lincoln in the 12th Century, and latterly an order of prebendal monks. Henry VIII and his wife Anne Boleyn stayed there in 1533.

The Prebendal is made up of more than just one building. A gatehouse that greets visitors is just the tip of the iceberg, as there is also a house, chapel and adjoining block to the west of the chapel.

Over the centuries, the property - which once also boasted a moat - fell into disrepair, but Historic England records show it was restored in 1836 on behalf of local man Charles Stone, who wanted the property as a private residence. It has changed hands many times since.

One of its more notable owners in recent history was Robin Gibb from musical supergroup the Bee Gees. He saw the property in Country Life magazine, and subsequently lived there with his wife Dwina from 1983 until his death in 2012.

With such an expansive history, it is no surprise that some believe The Prebendal - which is listed in the Domesday Book - is haunted. Its positioning opposite a graveyard further fuels the idea, and the Gibb family have spoken publicly over the years about mysterious goings on at the address.

In an interview given in 1993, Robin and Dwina recounted how they heard the winding up of a clock at 1am every morning from the empty Coronation Room, as well as seeing a ghost from the 1600s named 'John the Gardener' walk through walls. They also claimed that a bowl in the prayer room filled up with ice cold water on its own.

Robin Gibb's son, Robin-John Gibb, now resides at the address with his family, including mother Dwina. He stays in the property's on-site lodge, just down the driveway from Dwina, who resides in the main house.

Singer from the gold fund - Newspaper Kommersant No. 90 (4875) dated 05/22/2012

Robin Gibb, one of the founders of the Bee Gees group, died at the age of 62.

The history of the Bee Gees began with the fact that three of the five children of Hugh Gibb, who moved to Australia from England - brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice - formed the children's trio Rattlesnakes. They were promoted on local radio by a man named Bill Gates, whose initials gave the Bee Gees their name. Things were going so well that the family returned to Britain and quickly gained patronage in the person of the producer of The Beatles. The first fame came to the Bee Gees ten years before the group became the face of white disco. In fact, the imprint of Paul McCartney's composing style lies on the entire early work of the group. At 19In 67, the Bee Gees recorded three albums at once, at the same time two hits were born, which lingered for a long time in their repertoire and entered the golden fund of popular music - "To Love Somebody" and "Massachusetts".

1977 classic soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever, starring John Travolta, featuring the hits "Stayin' Alive", "Night Fever", "How Deep Is Your Love" and "You Should Be Dancing" was recorded . The disc topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic, went 15x platinum in the United States, and has a total circulation of at least 25 million copies. The sound of "Saturday Night Fever" formed the basis of all dance music of the late XX - early XXI century. This disc and the subsequent album "Spirits Having Flown" with the action movie "Tragedy" and the ballad "Too Much Heaven" have all the generic features of commercial disco. Having found their own unique style, the Bee Gees continued to hone their sound, which was based on a pop-rock tune and high-pitched male vocals. nine0003

The eldest of the brothers, Barry Gibb, was the Bee Gees' main author and idea generator. Among his solo works stands out the album "Guilty", recorded together with Barbra Streisand. The song "Woman in Love", the standard pop ballad, also belongs to Barry Gibb. The album is so firmly established in history that the couple even decided to record a sequel - "Guilty Pleasures" (2005). However, Bee Gees activity came to a virtual halt after Maurice Gibb died in 2003. With 22 studio albums in their arsenal, the brothers Robin and Barry decided to stop working under the brand that made them famous. nine0003

In memory of Maurice Gibb and another musician brother, Andy, who passed away in 1988, Robin founded the Gibb Family Foundation, a charitable foundation that collected funds from the reprinting of works by the Bee Gees, etc. The World Award in the form of a Rodin thinker " for contribution to the cause of peace" Robin Gibb received from the hands of Mikhail Gorbachev.

In an interview with Kommersant, Robin Gibb said: “For me, therapy after the death of Maurice is the creation of a joint album with Barry. It would be easier for us to record a new Bee Gees album than, say, Queen musicians to record a new Queen album without Freddie, because Freddie was the main driving force behind Queen.Barry and I are the main writers and frontmen of the Bee Gees, and if we record an album, it will sound like the Bee Gees. But for Barry, therapy is the maximum alienation from peace." nine0003

After Robin and Barry received the MBE in 2004, the brothers almost parted ways. Barry Gibb bought Johnny Cash's house in Tennessee and spent a lot of time there working on new songs. Robin, on the contrary, toured a lot, in particular, he performed in 2005 at the State Kremlin Palace, accompanied by an orchestra. Robin Gibb promoted Magnet's solo album, on the cover of which he was depicted jumping like a Stomp troupe artist, but on stage the singer looked far from being a big man. It was his last work in the traditional pop genre. After "Magnet" he released another Christmas album and an album of symphonic music dedicated to the centenary of the sinking of the Titanic. Robin Gibb collaborated with his son on this record. nine0003

Robin Gibb died of the same type of bowel cancer as his brother Maurice. Pain began to torment the singer in 2010. In the last two years of his life, he continued to write music, appeared on television and national concert programs, but he had to cancel his own concerts one after another. After numerous medical procedures, Robin Gibb was in remission, but in April 2012 he fell into a coma, from which he came out only for a few weeks.
