Pros
Cons

If you hate prep work, the centrifugal Breville Juice Fountain Cold Plus is the juicer for you. It can fit a whole apple in its 3.5-inch-wide feed tube. Unique rivets on the top of the feed tube help easily position and guide ingredients into the juicer. In our tests, it juiced carrots and kale the fastest and was a top contender when it came to juicing apples. The results all tasted sweet and pulp-free.

The juicer’s dial is easy to use with helpful speed descriptors (slow for soft fruit, high for hard vegetables). The large, 70-ounce pitcher and heavy-duty lid were a nice bonus, perfect for serving extra large batches or storing leftovers. The pitcher even has a froth separator!

Pros
  • Easy to assemble
  • Affordable
Cons
  • Noisy

This fuss-free juicer is under $150 and performed well in our Lab testing. It’s easy to assemble, easy to use, fast and makes smooth, pulp-free juice. The 3-inch feed tube fits larger pieces of fruit and veggies, and it comes with a large 40-ounce pitcher with a lid and froth separator.

Several parts are dishwasher-safe, and it also comes with an innovative cleaning tool that wipes away the pulp from the inside, outside and bottom of the cutting blade in one swipe, while protecting your fingers. Although the juicer was a little loud in our Lab tests, the price, speed and results make up for it.

Pros
  • Quiet motor
  • Extra-large chute for easy prep work
Cons
  • Only one speed setting

The NutriBullet Slow Juicer comes with the basics you need at an entry-level price point. Accessories include a multi-purpose strainer, a juice container with visible markings, a pulp-collecting container and a scrub brush for easy cleaning. It's intuitive to assemble thanks to the design of the strainer that only allows you to insert it into the juicing chamber one way. The 3-inch wide chute can fit large pieces of fruits and veggies, and a smaller section accommodates thinner ingredients. The mechanism is also easier to clean than others which are typically narrower with more pieces and crevices.

In our initial tests, it yielded 1 cup of apple juice from three apples, which is the same impressive amount we juiced from the more powerful Pure Juicer below. It's relatively quiet and the no-drip spout lets you easily pour your tasty juice when ready. An included recipe book provides tips on juicing and other fun options like using leftover pulp for cooking and baking.

Pros
  • Pulp control
  • Easy to clean
Cons
  • Pricey

Most juicers have metal mesh strainers that need to be diligently scrubbed, but the Hurom Easy Clean Slow Juicer has heavy-duty plastic strainers, which change the juicer cleanup game.

They have large vertical grooves that are much easier to clean. The tilted juicing chamber pours out more juice, too, which leaves you with less mess inside. In addition to the new strainers and improved interior, this slow juicer comes with a double-sided cleaning brush that gets into all the crevices of the mechanism. Plus, it's easier to remove fruit and veggie pulp from the juicer thanks to a little trap door that allows for even easier cleaning and less digging around the machine to clean it thoroughly.

In our Lab's testing, this model made some of the freshest-tasting green juice and we loved that you can control the amount of pulp by using the fine or coarse strainer, whether you like pulpy orange juice or silky smooth cucumber juice, we found the juice to be very tasty. The coarse strainer is great for smoothies and the fine strainer for ice cream, as well.

Pros
  • Quieter than other models we tested
  • Two juicing speeds
Cons
  • Large

Breville's Juice Fountain Elite is a top-notch juicer that powered through sturdy fruits and vegetables faster (and quieter!) than most juicers we tested. The resulting juice from our Lab testing was smooth, creamy and pulp-free.

It comes with a 1.1-quart juice jug with a froth separator and a 3.2-quart pulp container allowing you to juice a larger amount of produce in one session. It has a large 3-inch feeding tube to fit bigger fruits and veggies, and the juicer runs at two speeds so you can juice both hard and soft ingredients.

The juicing mechanism contains a titanium-reinforced disc and an Italian-made micro mesh filter basket made out of stainless steel which Breville claims are designed for optimum juice and nutrient extraction.

Best Cold Press Juicer

Pure Two-Stage Masticating Juicer

Best Cold Press Juicer

Pure Two-Stage Masticating Juicer

$2,495 at purejuicer.com

Pros
  • Two stage juicing
  • Easy to clean
Cons
  • Pricey

This high-end appliance provides a two-stage juicing process to extract the most juice you can get out of an ingredient, making it ideal for use with hard vegetables. The left side grinds produce into a superfine pulp and the right side features a hydraulic press that exerts 2.5 tons of force to press the juice out of the superfine pulp that is held within a straining towel. In our recent Lab testing, it created apple, kale and carrot juice that had absolutely no sediment and tasted clean and sweet with incredibly vibrant color and very little foam. The resulting byproduct was minimal, bone-dry pulp.

While this style of cold press juicing is more expensive and a little more involved than most juicers because of its two-step and somewhat manual process, once you get the hang of it, you are rewarded with silky, smooth juice — and plenty of it! You can also use this juicer to make nut butter by grinding nuts through the left side and sorbet by grinding frozen fruit. All stainless steel parts are easy to clean by hand but are also dishwasher-safe and the machine comes with a 12-year transferable warranty.

Pros
  • Also makes pasta and ice cream
  • Made smooth, sweet juice in Lab tests
Cons
  • Lots of parts and attachments to keep track of

This multifunction kitchen wizard acts as three kitchen appliances in one. The juicer can handle both fruits and vegetables and even makes almond milk. In our tests, carrots, kale and apple juice all came out so smooth and sweet. It also can be used to create delicious frozen desserts by using the "frozen treat housing" that the machine comes with and it also makes pasta — it comes with eight pasta-shaping accessories from penne to lasagna. This versatile juicer also has a LED screen and an auto shut-off feature.

Pros
  • Small foorprint
  • Self feeding
Cons
  • Juice came out a little pulpy

This 2021 Good Housekeeping Kitchen Gear Award Winner features an updated self-feeding hopper and a large opening that can hold more ingredients while the juicer is running – that means you don’t have to worry about standing by and guiding your fruits and veggies into the grinder one by one.

While traditional juicer strainers have tiny holes that are harder to clean, this strainer features elongated slits that are much easier to clean without additional scrubbing. In our tests, it produced rich kale juice and apple juice that was very tasty but had some pulp remaining. The inclusion of multiple strainers and attachments allows you to make smoothies, ice cream and even nut milk. It has a slimmer footprint than many juicers because the pulp container is hidden under the juicer.

Pros
  • Stylish
  • Multiple color options
Cons
  • Only for citrus

This retro-chic appliance from Smeg will juice your oranges, lemons, limes and other citrus fruits with ease. It features a lid that helps protect the product from dust when not in use, and the lid also doubles as a bowl for holding fruit during the juicing process.

It comes in black, cream, pastel green, pink, red and pastel blue so you can match it to your bar cart or the aesthetic of your breakfast bar. If you don't want your juicer to live on the countertop, we love that this electrical citrus juicer weighs under 6 pounds and can be easily moved from the countertop to the kitchen cupboard.

How we test juicers

In the Good Housekeeping Institute Kitchen Appliances and Culinary Innovation Lab, we have tested more than 50 juicers including masticating juicers (a.k.a. cold-press or slow juicers) and centrifugal juicers. When we test them, we juice carrots, which are hard and can sometimes taste bitter; kale, a popular leafy vegetable that's hard to juice and can jam the machine and apples which are pulpy with a large diameter and oxidize quickly. We measure how much juice each juicer extracts as well as how much pulp is created as a byproduct. We also taste and evaluate how smooth and sweet each juice is, and we monitor the juice for three days to see if it separates as it sits.

What type of juicer is best?

✔️ Slow juicers or masticating juicers typically have a narrow vertical chute that guide ingredients into a chamber where they are pressed by a rotating auger. The fresh juice is squeezed out through a strainer and into a pitcher, while the pulp is dispensed from a second spout. The process is a little slow — it’s called a slow juicer for a reason! — but this is considered a good thing. The slow, gentle process is believed to preserve nutrients better than high-speed juicers that generate heat which can affect the taste of the final product. What we don’t love about slow juicers is they often require a little more prep work due to their small feed tubes (which means you'll have to dice up fruits and veggies into smaller chunks) and cleanup is arduous due to many small parts and crevices. Brands like Breville and NutriBullet have found a workaround and recently introduced new, wide-mouth slow juicers. This allows fruits like large apples to simply be quartered instead of chunked into one-inch pieces.

✔️ Centrifugal juicers juice much faster than slow juicers. Whole ingredients are typically dropped into the wider feed tube and pulverized at a very high speed. For example, in our leafy greens test, 100 grams of kale juiced in as quickly as 7 seconds in a centrifugal juicer, while it took upwards of 1 minute in the slow juicers. The juice from centrifugal juicers tends to come out a little foamy but most come with lidded pitchers and built-in strainers to get rid of the foam.

✔️ Citrus juicers are the easiest to use and most streamlined, but they can only be used for citrus. They can easily be stored or remain on your counter because they take up minimal space. Citrus juicers are also great for getting the most out of your lemons (and other citrus) with minimal effort, and you don’t have to worry about peeling, segmenting or removing the seeds first. If you’re juicing a lot of citrus consecutively, remember to empty the strainer periodically. The strainers are prone to build up, which could translate into a slower and messier juicing process.

What to look for when shopping for the best juicer

✔️ Price: Cold-press or masticating juicers tend to be more expensive than their centrifugal counterparts because their machinery is designed to slowly and gently extract juice. While there are some affordable options, expect to spend a couple hundred dollars to get a juicer that’s designed to last — and make good juice. While a citrus juicer tends to be at a lower price point than both masticating and centrifugal juicers, it's quite limited in its functionality.

✔️ Style: There are two different styles of juicers: vertical and horizontal – which refers to the way you juice. With a vertical juicer, you feed ingredients at the top, and juice is collected from the bottom of the juicer like the Hurom h201 Easy Clean Slow Juicer. With a horizontal juicer, you feed fruits and vegetables from the left and juice is extracted from the right like the Emeril Everyday Juicer. Vertical juicers typically have a one-piece design, making setup and cleanup a bit simpler, but they’re not quite as powerful as the slightly more cumbersome horizontal models.

✔️ Size of feed tube: The larger the tube, the less prep work — i.e. chopping — you’ll have to do. Some juicers, like the Nutribullet Slow Masticating Juicer Machine, even have one section large enough for an entire apple and another section that's designed to accommodate thin items like celery and kale for maximum efficiency.

✔️ Accessories: Some juicers come with different-sized strainers that allow for different amounts of pulp in juices — and even smoothies. A very fine strainer would reduce the amount of pulp for a silky smooth finish while a strainer with larger holes will allow some pulp to go through giving a more viscous juice with added fiber from the pulp. Some juicers can be used to make sauces, purees, nut butters and sorbets, depending on the sizing of the strainers that are provided — use finer strainers for sorbets and larger strainers for thick nut butter. If you choose a machine with these types of accessories, look for included cleaning brushes to keep things sanitary.

✔️ Power: Though most slow juicers won’t win any awards for speed, it’s worth considering power for centrifugal juicers, particularly if you juice tougher items like celery or greens. Look for models upwards of 1,000 watts to power the juicing of tough ingredients. Weaker motors may stop working mid-juice because they get overheated and need to cool down. We've experienced it several times in the Lab.

✔️ Ease of cleaning: Juicers by design have numerous parts that can be cumbersome to clean. Look for models with dishwasher-safe parts and models that come with cleaning brushes to ensure that you don’t spend more time cleaning than juicing.

✔️ Warranty: There’s no question about it — juicers are pricey appliances. If you’re investing in one that is more expensive like the Pure Juicer, it’s worth checking warranty information to ensure you’ll be satisfied for years to come.

I have already reviewed over a hundred juice extractors in a span of five years. Given this knowledge, I know which ones would work best for juicing celeries, making green juices, or simple fruit and vegetable drinks.

You’ll find all the answers to those questions and more in this epic juicer buying guide.

Of the juicers we tested, here are the Best Juicers on the market today.

That’s the TL;DR version of this epic buying guide. Feel free to click the links above to read the full review of each juicing machine. If not, we can continue exploring all your options down below.

Top 13 Best Juicers

#1 Hurom h300 – Best Overall Juicer

Apart from being the Best Juicer, Hurom h300 is also The Best Cold Press Juicer and The Best Hurom Juicer.

But how did it earn all those awards?

Despite being a slow juicer, it has the biggest chute in the market, plus it’s super easy to clean.

By big, I mean approximately 6.8 inches (17.5 cm) wide. That’s even more generous than leading centrifugal juicers in the market. There are existing whole slow juicers with a 3-inch feeding tube, but the h300 took it to the next level. That means less prep time for you.

But that’s not the best part. The reason to buy this fantastic product is its easy-to-clean feature. With its ingenious filter basket design, you won’t even have to brush it. It’s difficult to explain in words, so you might want to watch the video in this full product review.

When picking the best product, we didn’t consider price as a factor. We focused more on functionality and convenience. So, to set the record straight, Hurom h300 is a premium juicing machine. If you’re looking for a more affordable option, you might want to check our next pick.

You can read the full review of Hurom h300 here.

#2 Dash Juicer – Best Cheap Juicer

Dash Juicer has the slimmest profile among all the vertical slow juicers in the market. Apparently, that’s not its only unique feature. On a positive note, it’s also the cheapest cold press juicing machine.

As a point of comparison, you can buy almost nine dash juicers for a price of one Hurom h300. But is it worth it?

Well, it wouldn’t make it on this list if it’s not countertop-worthy.

There’s just one catch—it has a super narrow chute. It belongs to the first generation of vertical slow juicers like the Hurom HP and Hurom h201. You’ll have to cut your produce into small pieces to fit its crescent opening.

However, that’s a small price to pay for a refreshingly nutritious juice.

Not only it’s a dependable juicer, but it’s also capable of making nut-based milk alternatives.

You can read the full review of Dash Juicer here.

#3 Kuvings EVO820 – Best Premium Juicer

Before Hurom h300, there’s Kuvings EVO820 from the brand that pioneered cold press juicing machines with large feeding chutes or in short, whole slow juicers. To date, it’s still the only juice extractor featuring a leather finish.

On that note, Kuvings EVO820 remains the best premium juicer and, at the same time, the best Kuvings juicer.

The main advantage of whole slow juicers is their oversized feeding chute. It can take a whole apple, 3-inch long sections of celery, and larger portions of other fruits and vegetables. That means there’s no need to cut your produce into small pieces.

If you have the budget, Kuvings EVO820 is an excellent juicer for celery and green juices. And if you mainly want to juice citruses, there’s an optional accessory that can turn EVO820 into your very own citrus juicer.

As a bonus, you can also use it to make nut-based milk alternatives as well as sorbet and other frozen treats.

You can read the full review of Kuvings EVO820 here.

#4 Hurom h201 – Best Cold Press Juicer

Hurom h201 is the Best Juicer of 2020, but it has to give way to its bigger sibling, Hurom h300. It features the same easy-clean grooved basket design, but it comes with a standard chute.

Technically, Hurom h300 is the official best cold press juicer, but we have to give it to Hurom h201 in this list as it’s a more practical choice. Being 30% cheaper, it’s a less expensive way to produce fresh juice.

I was mind blown when I first saw Hurom’s Easy Clean line-up.

I can’t really comprehend how the new grooved basket works. Until now, I still can’t figure out how those massive holes can separate the juice from the pulp. If you want to see it in action, you can watch the demo video here.

For the record, this easy-clean basket design is unique to the Hurom brand. No other cold press juicer manufacturer offers the same convenient feature.

Hurom h201 is perfect for juicing any type of produce. It can take on dense fruits and veggies, softer ones like berries, citruses, and leafy greens. It’s an all-around advanced juicer that can help you make celery, green juices, or any particular recipe.

You can read the full review of Hurom h201 here.

#5 Omega 8006 HDS – Best Masticating Juicer

Omega 8006 has been a consistent best-seller in the peak of juicing trend. It’s been rebranded many times. In fact, the Omega 8006 HDS model is previously the Omega J8007S.

Fast forward to this day; the company is slowly phasing it out in favor of the Omega MM900HDS, which we’ll explore in a bit.

Going back to Omega 8006 HDS, I’d still pick it over MM900HDS at any given day. It’s still the Best Juicer for Greens and the Best Omega Juicer, IMHO.

These two machines are basically the same product, but 8006 has a lot more to offer. It comes with all the bells and whistles that you would expect from the brand.

It has extra non-juicing functions such as mincing, grinding, homogenizing, extruding pasta, making non-dairy milk alternatives, and healthy frozen treats.

You can read the full review of Omega 8006 HDS here.

#6 Breville Juice Fountain Cold Plus – Best Centrifugal Juicer

Short juice shelf life is the major disadvantage of centrifugal juicers. This issue gave birth to Breville’s Juice Fountain Cold family—Juice Fountain Cold, Juice Fountain Cold Plus, and Juice Fountain Cold XL.

The first model is the cheapest. The plus version is a more refined model with a more compact design, and the XL variant is the biggest among the three siblings. Let’s focus on the Juice Fountain Cold Plus since it’s the best choice among the three.

By the way the plus model is also the Best Breville Juicer.

Breville claims that their proprietary Cold Spin Technology and Elevated Juicing System embedded in these juicers can prolong the juice’s shelf life to 72 hours. There are no independent studies to back their claim, so let’s just bet on the brand’s reputation.

If what they’re claiming is true, then this is a significant breakthrough for centrifugal juicing machines. That’s the reason why it’s the Best Centrifugal Juicer.

You can now prepare a three-day juice cleanse in under 5 minutes with any of the three juice maker models I mentioned above.

The Breville Juice Fountain Cold family is highly recommended for making fruit and vegetable juices.

You can read the full review of Juice Fountain Cold Plus here.

#7 Tribest Life Green Star Elite – Best Twin Gear Juicer

Triturating juicing machines provide a whole new level of juice extraction experience. The twin gears inside this type of juicer are incredibly efficient and durable.

On top of heavy-duty performance, the augers inside the Green Star Elite are equipped with bioceramic technology. According to the manufacturer, this feature enhances the paramagnetic properties of alkaline minerals such as potassium, calcium, and magnesium in your juice. In theory, it maximizes your juice’s nutritional value.

There’s no other brand that offers that feature making it the Best Twin Gear Juicer.

The Green Star Elite can handle even the toughest produce. Its gears are super powerful that it can juice mature coconut meat. Among other types of juicer machines, this feat is unique to twin gear juicers.

It can also take on any type of fruits and vegetables, be it leafy greens, wheatgrass, celery, etc. You can also puree soft fruits, make nut-based milk or homogenize food with this machine.

Greenstar Elite is a fantastic household juicer with over the top juicing performance. It also has a commercial model, the Green Star Pro.

You can read the full review of GreenStar Elite Juicer here.

#8 Omega MM900HDS – Best Celery Juicer

I mentioned a while ago that Omega 8006 is slowly being replaced by Omega MM900HDS, aka the Medical Medium Juicer or Omega Celery Juicer.

You won’t notice any difference if you compare Omega 8006 and Omega MM900HDS side by side. I believe they share the same body frame. The only difference is that the latter is strictly for juicing. It doesn’t have extra food processing accessories.

What makes MM900HDS the Best Option for Celery?

The brand optimized this product for processing those juicy stalks. It comes with a tighter end cap, which in theory, should yield you more juice. That feature also make it an amazing machine for making green juices.

If you’re also using your juicer for other purposes like making non-dairy milk alternatives, making pasta, mincing sauces, etc., this is not the model you should upgrade to as it’s strictly for juicing.

You can read the full review of Omega MM900HDS here.

#9 Hurom HP – Best Compact Juicer

Hurom HP is the most popular juicer from the brand. What I like about this machine are its three adorable color finishes. You can have it in plain white, pastel green, or pastel pink.

Why is it the Best Compact Juicer?

Despite its size, it’s a capable juice extractor that will work well for leafy greens, celeries, or any juice recipe you’d like to make. It crushes your produce at 43 RPM, slow but highly efficient at extracting every drop of juice from your fruits and veggies.

If you want a more affordable option, next in line is the Dash Juicer. It has thousands of raving reviews from satisfied customers, and I must say it’s equally cute as the Hurom HP.

You can read the full review of Hurom HP here.

#10 Kuvings CS600 – Best Commercial Juicer

If you’re planning to set up your very own juice bar, you’ll need a proper commercial juicer like the Kuvings CHEF CS600.

The thing is, you need something that will provide warranty coverage for heavy-duty usage. Omega juicers provide a 1-year guarantee for business use, but most of their juice extractors are only intended for small-scale processing. You need more than one of their machines to run a successful juice venture.

Another thing that we need to address is the 30-minute run time limitation. Most household juicers will overheat after hitting that mark. And, that’s even shorter for non-branded juicers.

Well, this category is quite complex as there are many things to consider. You might want to read this guide to see which option will work for your specific needs.

Going back to Kuvings CHEF CS600, it also comes with 1-year product guarantee for commercial application but you can operate it continuously for 24-hours. Like our #1 pick, it also comes with a bigger chute system, which is a much-needed feature when you’re juicing in bulk.

You can read the full review of Kuvings CHEF CS600 here.

#11 Nutribullet Slow Juicer – Best Whole Slow Juicer

Nutribullet Slow Juicer is the fourth whole slow juicer on this list. However, it’s the cheapest among those four options. These machines answered the cold press juicer’s long-standing issue—narrow chute.

Standard slow juicers have a very tight opening, say one to two inches on average. This flaw requires you to prep your fruits and vegetables into small pieces taking your most valuable asset.

Having at least a 3-inch diameter for your produce will save you a ton of time and effort.

The Nutribullet Slow Juicer offers that advantage. It doesn’t have an easy-clean feature like the Hurom h300, but it’s dishwasher-friendly.

It’s an excellent machine for making celery juices, green drinks and other basic juice recipes.

You can read the full review of Nutribullet Slow Juicer here.

#12 Pure Juicer – Best Hydraulic Juice Press

Pure Juicer, a hydraulic juice press with a two stage juicing process.

Hydraulic Juicers belong to a different breed of juice extractors. It’s next to none in terms of juice extraction efficiency, better than any cold press juicers I’ve mentioned so far.

Let me put it like this: if you want the highest yielding juice machine that money can buy, then the Pure Juicer is for you.

The Pure Juicer is a two-stage juicer machine. Stage 1 consists of grinding your produce into a pulp. In stage 2, you wrap your ground produce in a close and use the hydraulic press to squeeze every possible ounce of juice out and into a catch.

A glass of juice will probably take you 15-30 minutes, from preparing your produce to cleaning your juicer and washing your cloth. So you may find it a chore rather than a fun and fulfilling activity.

One of the main reasons people buy this machine is Gerson Therapy. It’s an alternative course of treatment for cancer patients, which has a strict requirement for the type of juicer needed for its juicing diet.

Disclaimer: Gerson Therapy is not medically proven and is not endorsed by Juicing Journal. As someone in the medical field, it’s not something that I would vouch for.

If you have all the time and money in the world, no one’s stopping you from getting this heavy-duty all-stainless steel juicing equipment.

You can read the full review of the Pure Juicer here.

#13 Omega Juice Cube – Best Utilitarian Juicer

Last but certainly not least, we have the Omega Juice Cube. I believe it’s one of the Best Juicers simply because of its utilitarian design. There’s no other juice extractor where you can keep all the parts in one place. That’s super handy for a minimalist kitchen.

If you’re wondering what type of juicing machine it is, it’s a horizontal type masticating juicer just like the Omega 8006 HDS or the Omega MM900HDS. And yes, it comes with multiple food processing accessories.

Apart from making your favorite drink, it has an attachment for making pasta, nut butter, grinding coffee beans, and so on.

You can read the full review of Omega Juice Cube here.

So there you have it, the best juice extractors we’ve found on the market.

I also have to mention that the KitchenAid Juicer Attachment almost made it to this list. It’s a good alternative if you have a KitchenAid stand mixer at home.

Price is always a factor, but there are plenty of things to consider when buying a new one. Like what type of Juicer Machine would you like? Do you want a cold press or centrifugal? Are you mainly juicing leafy greens or perhaps celeries? Do you want to make soy or almond milk?

We’ll answer all those questions in this guide. If you’re not new to juicing, feel free to skip all the beginner info.

Different Types of Juice Extractor

There are many types of juicers on the market:

  • Horizontal Masticating Juicers
  • Vertical Masticating Juicers
  • Press Juicers
  • Centrifugal Juicers
  • Twin Gear Juicers
  • And more!

Some are better at juicing dense produce, some are better at juicing soft produce. There are even specialty juicers built just for wheat grass. Check out our types of juicers page for in-depth information about the different types of juicers. We also go over the pros and cons of each.

How to Choose a Juicer?

Efficiency

Not all juicers are created equal. There are types of juicers that are more efficient at extracting juice from your produce. More juice yield means a bigger return on investment for your health.

Easy to Use

If you’re a beginner, it would be wise to pick a product that is easy to operate. Stay away from juice presses that require a steep learning curve like triturating juice extractors or whole slow juicing machines.

Easy to Clean

This is by far one the most important deciding factor when buying a juicer. You don’t want to spend most of your time cleaning more than juicing. It ruins the fun. At least get something that is dishwasher safe. Hurom h300 got the top marks on this aspect, that is why it’s the Best Juicer Machine of the Year.

Nutrient Retention

Slow Juicers are particularly excellent at preserving nutrients and minerals in your juice. It’s a common knowledge that a cold-pressed juice can last for 72 hours when stored properly. In comparison, juice extracted by a centrifugal juicer has a shelf life of just 24 hours.

Pulp Ejection

An external pulp ejection system will allow you to juice continuously. It is extremely helpful when you are juicing in bulk. There are just a handful of juicing machines that don’t have this convenient feature, one of which is Breville Juice Fountain Compact.

Versatility

Pick a juice maker that will allow you to juice a wide variety of produce. A Cold press Juicer has an edge in this domain, it can take on any type of fruits and vegetables. It’s great for making green juices, celery juices, or basically any type of juice. Some models can even perform other food processing tasks apart from juicing.

Feeder Tube Size

Size matters, it also does in the world of juicing. A bigger chute would mean less time to prepare as it would allow you to juice a whole apple and larger portions of fruits and veggies. Centrifugal juice makers and whole slow juice extractors are the clear winners in this category.

Variable Juicing Speed

This part only applies to fast juice extractors. If you’re going for a Centrifugal Juicer, you should get a model with at least a two-speed setting. It will allow you to juice more varieties of fruits and vegetables.

Dimensions

Juice extractors come in different shapes and sizes. A compact juice press will be a great option if you have a limited counter space.

Peripherals

A model with a long cord will give you more flexibility. Unless you have a power outlet near your counter, this wouldn’t be an issue.

Noise

You won’t be able to contain the sound of a High RPM Juicers. The faster it is, the louder it gets. So, if you don’t fancy a loud noise when you’re juicing, lean on the side of slow juice extractors.

Juice Container

Most juicers come with a complimentary container that is designed to prevent splashes. Check if your chosen product does come with a juice container; otherwise, it will be a messy pursuit.

BPA Content

BPA or Bisphenol A is a toxic substance found in plastic that has been linked to several diseases, including cancer. Though FDA released a report that the BPA levels present in plastic and cans are safe for food consumption, it’s still highly advisable to pick a BPA free product.

Brand Reputation

Leading brands won’t disappear overnight, they are built on integrity and a rock-solid reputation. You won’t get this peace of mind with a newer manufacturer.

Warranty

Warranty is a no-brainer. You’ll get a better deal with longer warranty coverage.

Price

Finally and most importantly, you should consider your budget. If you don’t have enough savings, you can get an excellent machine for a hundred bucks. It won’t be as fancy as branded ones, but it will do the job just fine. If money is not an issue, then, invest in a good quality juicer that will pay itself over time.

Over To You

Thank you for sticking with me. I didn’t expect you to reach the end of this epic guide. It’s 6000 words long, so give yourself a pat on the back.

I sincerely hope that you already found the Best Juicer. For now let me leave you with the Best Juicer of the Year—Hurom h300.

Kitfort KT-1129 auger juicer review

Auger juicer is very similar to a meat grinder in terms of operation. The rotating auger crushes the fruits placed in the loading neck, the juice flows into the container, and the cake gently falls into a separate container. The auger is horizontal and vertical. Kitfort KT-1129, which we will talk about today, belongs to the second type.

According to the manufacturer, 58 revolutions per minute, namely at this speed the auger of our juicer rotates, is the optimal speed for the coldest pressing, which allows the juice not to heat up, not oxidize and not foam, retaining all the useful substances. We just have to believe and verify.

* Contrary to common misconception, this is not the period after which the device will definitely break. However, after this period, the manufacturer ceases to bear any responsibility for its performance and has the right to refuse to repair it, even for a fee.

Contents

Juicer is supplied in a box made of durable glossy carton with Kitfort branding. On a black background - a vector image of the device, in the upper left corner - a purple insert with a slogan. On the side faces there is information about the technical characteristics of the device and a brief description of its main advantages. The box is not equipped with a handle.

Opening the box, inside we found:

  • engine block
  • bowl
  • slot filter
  • cap with filler neck
  • auger
  • pusher
  • juice and pulp containers
  • cleaning brush
  • instruction manual
  • collectible magnet and promotional materials

Inside the box, the juicer, its components and accessories, each wrapped in its own separate plastic bag, are firmly fixed with a pair of foam inserts.

At a glance

The Kitfort KT-1129 engine block with a funny eye sticker is made of black plastic with a purple metal trim.

At the top of the motor block is a metal pin.

It is fitted with a clear black plastic bowl with slotted filter and auger.

There are two spouts on the sides of the bowl: for juice and pomace. The juice outlet is equipped with a rubberized valve with a small handle. The wider waste spout on the side of the bowl closes with a rubber tab. In the center of the bowl there is a cylindrical elevation with a rubber ring on top, on which the auger is mounted.

The heavy helical screw press looks solid and looks like it can handle even the most complex products.

Slotted transparent plastic filter, like the auger, is molded from an ultra-strong plastic that can withstand heavy workloads, according to the manufacturer.

Holds the entire structure in the assembled form cover - loading neck with a caster. It is fixed on the bowl with the filter and the auger by turning it counterclockwise.

The loading neck diameter is 8.5 cm. without breaking anything, most likely, it is possible - but this operation is definitely not a regular operation and the responsibility for its consequences will fall entirely on the user (further it will become clear why we even undertook to consider such a possibility).

Turning the motor unit upside down reveals 5 small rubber feet, air vents and a spec sticker.

Toothed plunger made of black plastic.

Cleaning brush similar to a large toothbrush.

Pomace and juice containers are made of the same darkened plastic as the filler neck. The volume of containers to the brim is: 0.65 liters for cake and 0.8 liters for juice. The containers have the same shape, which allows them to be inserted into each other, saving storage space.

In general, the Kitfort KT-1129 can be called a compact juicer, just keep in mind that when assembled from the base to the edge of the loading neck, its height is as much as 46 cm. The height of the motor block is 16.5 cm. The whole structure weighs 3 kg.

All Kitfort KT-1129 parts and accessories look neat. The assembly process is simple and intuitive.

Manual

The instruction manual in Russian is presented as an 18-page brochure. The text is devoted to the description of the juicer device, the principles of its operation, tips for safe operation and how to care for the device. At the end there is a section with useful tips for processing various products.

The text is logically structured, written in simple understandable language, and the main points are illustrated with photographs.

Control

The Kitfort KT-1129 is controlled by a single button located on the side of the motor block. The control has three modes: on, off and reverse. Speed is one.

By pressing the upper part of the button, the device is switched on, by the reverse movement it is switched off. When you press the button down and hold it in this position, the reverse mode of operation starts. If, after the end of the juicer, turn on the reverse for a couple of seconds, this will make it easier to remove the auger. Reverse is also needed in case of food jams.

If the juicer is not assembled correctly, the built-in safety system will block the power button.

Operation

Before we started testing, we washed all removable parts of the device and wiped the case with a damp and then dry cloth.

We did not experience any difficulties in using the Kitfort KT-1129. The juicer worked equally well the entire time we had it in our hands and performed well in all tests.

Works Kitfort KT-1129calm and quiet. Watching the leisurely rotation of the auger, you might even think that it is slow. However, summing up the results of testing, we came to the conclusion that this is not the case. The results in terms of speed and efficiency of the device turned out to be quite good.

The device is assembled and disassembled in a matter of seconds and is completely unpretentious in its care. Kitfort KT-1129 is not recommended to be used for more than 10 minutes in a row, otherwise the juicer will need another 10 minutes to rest. In our tests, we never used it for 10 minutes or more, so the motor did not overheat.

Care

Wash all parts of the juicer, except for the motor unit, with warm water and a mild detergent immediately after use. You can use a brush to clean the filter and auger. The motor unit should be wiped with a damp cloth and then with a dry cloth.

Our measurements

The power consumed by the device depends directly on the hardness of the processed raw material. On average, it was 52-131 watts. We recorded the maximum when squeezing juice from carrots and apples, lowered into the neck as a whole, both times the wattmeter showed 271 watts.

The juicer can be called quiet, if you do not take into account the loud creaking sound when processing carrots, apples and cabbage. Vegetables creak, not the appliance.

Practice Tests

Required Test #1 (Granny Smith Apples)

Apples were cut into 4 pieces, the core was removed and the skin was left.

Approximately at the 5th piece of apple, I had to start using the pusher, as the auger was in no hurry to grab the slices on its own. The apples crunched and creaked. If we cut the apples smaller, things would go faster.

There was a lot of foam, the juice itself - with a small amount of pulp, dense, with a rich sweet and sour taste.

Result: 3 minutes 10 seconds, 715 grams of juice (no foam).

Compulsory Test No. 2 (Pink Grapefruit)

One kilogram of grapefruit has been stripped of white films as far as possible and divided into segments.

In this test, as expected, there were no difficulties with processing the fruit. The slices were ground without delay, the cake fell neatly into the container, the juice quickly filled the container.

The cake was wet, but we did not see any liquid in the container, the juice was with a moderate amount of pulp.

Result: 56 seconds, 670 grams of juice (no foam).

Required test #3 (carrots)

To see how difficult it will be for the juicer to process whole hard fruits compared to cut ones, we left some of the carrots whole.

Whole vegetables pulled in by the auger made a loud crack, but the device itself worked quietly, as if without even straining. The process went on, but not as fast as the processing of chopped fruits.

There was very little tasty thick juice, only 240 g. There was much more waste than the container could contain, and at the end of the test, some of it ended up on the table. In addition, at the end, from under the bowl with a filter, a little juice leaked out.

Result: 2 minutes 15 seconds, 240 grams of juice (no foam).

Mandatory test No. 4 (cabbage)

A kilogram of cabbage was cut into strips, focusing on the size of the feed opening.

The auger chopped the vegetable rather quickly, which creaked in response, but yielded. We used the pusher twice. The pressed cake cakes were almost dry. No unprocessed pieces or whole cabbage leaves were found in it.

Result: 4 minutes, 600 grams of juice (no foam).

Summing up the results of testing according to the iXBT.com method

Based on the results of mandatory tests, you can calculate the average speed and efficiency for the Kitfort KT-1129 centrifugal juicer using the iXBT. com method. The speed indicator was 2 minutes 58 seconds , efficiency - 556 grams .

You can see for yourself the results of all the juicers we have tested. The result of comparing the Kitfort KT-1129 with competitors in its group (auger juicers) showed that it is at the level of average indicators in terms of speed and efficiency.

Whole Granny Smith

The Kitfort KT-1129 makes the bold statement that the juicer's wide mouth allows you to load whole fruit without cutting it into pieces. We decided to check this statement on Granny Smith apples.

We took a couple of fruits of suitable size and placed them whole in the neck using a caster. The first apple fell on the auger and obediently grinded, the second one had to be pressed a little with a pusher. In general, everything went well, but certainly not as fast as with chopped fruit. From two apples with a total weight of 400 g in 1 minute 56 seconds, we got 210 g of juice, excluding foam.

Result: excellent.

Grape

We lowered 400 grams of grapes with seeds into the loading neck and after 30 seconds we got an excellent sweet moderately thick juice, with a pleasant tart aftertaste.

The volume of juice was 265 grams. Foreign inclusions in the glass were not found, we also did not note any difficulties in the operation of the device. In the waste container were even briquettes of almost dry cake.

Result: excellent.

Peaches

We cut exactly half a kilo of juicy peaches of medium softness into quarters. It took the device 1.5 minutes to turn fruit into a thick fragrant juice in the amount of 315 grams.

Peach puree has accumulated in the waste container.

Result: excellent.

Conclusions

The Kitfort KT-1129 did an excellent job on both our traditional required tests and additional tasks. This cute, quiet and easy-to-use juicer is well suited for home use. A couple of glasses of freshly squeezed juice for breakfast - easily and effortlessly.

Apparently, she is also ready to process serious volumes of fruits and vegetables, but the design and equipment of the device suggest that the process will be long. The volumes of containers for juice and waste are quite small - 0.8 and 0.65 liters, and the neck of the device is not so wide, which means that you will have to spend extra time emptying and replacing containers and processing fruits. The loading opening itself is not narrow - 8.5 cm, but the fixed caster ... it basically only interfered with us. It was useful and convenient only in the test with peaches and whole apples, the rest of the time I really wanted to remove this detail.

Pluses :

  • silent
  • effective
  • easy to assemble, disassemble and clean

Cons :

  • small volume juice and waste containers
  • small feed opening
  • it would be better to make the caster removable

Overview of Russian-made garden juicers.

Quick, easy

Harvest time is approaching. How to save all the useful vitamins and minerals contained in fruits and vegetables? One of the easiest and proven ways is to squeeze the juice. The most convenient and efficient for processing a sufficiently large amount of products is garden juicer , equipped with a wide mouth.

When working with this juicer, for example, it is not necessary to cut apples, because they go through the mouth completely. Thanks to this, productivity is significantly increased - in such juicers it reaches 60-70 liters per hour. It is clear that it is rather necessary to purchase such an apparatus if the need arises and the volume of the crop allows you to process at least 2-3 buckets of the product at a time. Domestic garden juicers are highly reliable and cost significantly less than imported counterparts, so they can be safely left to "winter" in the country.

For a long time, such a device was the Rossoshanka SVPR-201 juicer. For many years, this popular model has faithfully served our summer residents and gardeners. But, unfortunately, the manufacturer has discontinued the release of this model. In this review, we would like to introduce you to the modern analogues of Rossoshka.

Neptune Juicer with pulp container.

The main difference of this model from similar ones is the presence of the function of automatic ejection of cake , which allows not to interrupt the spinning process for a long time. This distinguishes this juicer from others, in which the removal of the squeezed residues is done manually.

This model also has additional conical graters to increase the wringing efficiency. This allows you to recycle 120-180 kg of apples in one hour .

In addition, Neptune weighs less than its competitors.

Main specifications of the Neptune juicer:
  • Power : 320W
  • Capacity : 60 l/h
  • Continuous operation (for 1 hour)
  • Efficiency : not less than 30-55%
  • Spin : 88%
  • Weight : 7 kg
  • Size (cm) : 39 x 35. 5 x 45
  • Warranty : 12 months

Juicer Salyut SVPR-201

This model has been in steady demand among consumers for several years in a row due to its reliability . When using fresh and hard vegetables and fruits, it achieves an efficiency of 50% with a juice purity of 92%.

Unlike the previous model, it has a periodic mode of operation, that is, from time to time it will be necessary to manually remove the pulp, but this will not take much time and will not require much effort, since this juicer is disassembled and assembled quite simply.

This model compares favorably with its competitors in that it is equipped with an additional nylon mesh, which ensures an increase in the purity of the juice after pressing.

Braking function available.

Salut Juicer Main Specifications:

For seasonal harvesting of juice also we recommend paying attention to juice extractor Dachnitsa.

According to customer reviews, the main advantage of this model is that you do not need to disassemble the mesh to clean it. It is enough just to remove the lid and cut the pulp from the wall with a wooden spatula or spoon.

Also a design feature of this model is the presence of mesh guides, which significantly reduces the level of vibration and noise during operation.

This model is also best suited for juicing tomatoes and other non-hard fruits.
