Still from the film "Titanic"
The role of the red-haired aristocrat Rosa has become a landmark for actress Kate Winslet. She played in James Cameron's box office film when she was only 21 years old. After that, fans and the press paid close attention to her. In a new interview, the actress told how hard it was for her during this period.
British actress Kate Winslet said that in her youth she had a hard time because of the fame that fell on her after the release of James Cameron's blockbuster "Titanic". According to the Oscar winner, journalists during this period treated her very harshly and criticized her a lot.
According to Deadline, the actress was a guest on the WTF podcast, where she spoke about the difficult beginning of her career. "Titanic" was her first big-budget film, she was 21 when Winslet played the beautiful aristocrat Rose. As a result, excessive attention was riveted to the actress, and the British press, she believes, was especially cruel to her.
"I felt like I was being bullied, to be honest. I remember thinking, 'This is terrible and I hope one day this will end. ' what it's like to be a celebrity. I wasn't ready to be famous, I definitely wasn't," the actress said during a conversation with Marc Maron.
Because of the pressure she was under, Winslet even turned down roles in major Hollywood projects after the success of Titanic. So, it is known that she could play the films "Anna and the King" and "Shakespeare in Love". According to the actress, at that time she was still learning to play and did not want to make big mistakes. Therefore, Kate chose to improve her skills by acting in independent films.

Today all the praises are addressed to the talented actress, the owner of "Oscar" (and not for "Titanic") and just beauties - Kate Winslet. Although it is not customary to ask lovely ladies about their age, we will let it slip: The birthday girl is 37 years old. Our congratulations!
Kate was born on October 5, 1975 in the British town of Reading - in the acting the family of Roger Winslet and Sally Bridges. From childhood, the girl saw how The work of an actor can be difficult. True, the parental example did not frighten Winslet's daughters at all - they all become actresses, but the most successful career, of course, can boast Kate.
At the age of 11, our heroine went to learn the basics of acting to school Redroofs Theater School, where she studied until 1992. And at the age of 12 became the heroine of a commercial - in front of the camera the girl crunched with appetite corn flakes, and her dimpled smile conquered the whole set group.

The following year, Winslet played in two notable projects at once - the melodrama "Jude" and a new reading of Shakespeare's "Hamlet" (she got the role of Ophelia). But Kate could not even think that she was about to play the main female role in a picture that will ensure her wild popularity.
