8 Foyer Color Examples

1.

White Foyers

A white foyer will make a great impression on your guests. This neutral tone evokes cleanliness and there are plenty of ways to dress up a white design for your foyer. You can make white one of the main design elements of your foyer if you want a clean and modern look.

The key is to have different white textures for your design and to add some reflective surfaces to evoke cleanliness. You can create a very modern feel with some glossy white furniture with minimalist lines, some white paint with a satin finish for your walls and a large accent mirror to reflect light.

This modern white look would be a good way to brighten up a small foyer that doesn’t get much natural light.

2. Gray Foyers

Gray is one of the most popular tones for foyers. This is a popular wall color since neutral tones are easy to work with, and you can combine gray with any accent color you like to give your foyer more personality.

If you want to start with neutral tones to draw attention to other design elements, cloud, silver, or coin gray would be good choices. Think about painting your walls in one of these hues if you have white wooden panels or white furniture.

You can work with other shades like pewter, slate or lead gray if you have chosen a marine-theme for your foyer. These hues will work as darker accent colors if you have some blue in your foyer design.

You can also combine darker hues like charcoal or smoke with rich colors like wine red or emerald green if you want a foyer design that evokes luxury.

Studio Ranch Pass Residence

The Ranch Pass Project consisting of architectural design services for a new home of around 3,400 square feet. The design of the new house includes four bedrooms, one office, a living room, dining room, kitchen, scullery, laundry/mud room, upstairs children’s playroom and a three-car garage, including the design of built-in cabinets throughout. The design style is traditional with Northeast turn-of-the-century architectural elements and a white brick exterior. Design challenges encountered with this project included working with a flood plain encroachment in the property as well as situating the house appropriately in relation to the street and everyday use of the site. The design solution was to site the home to the east of the property, to allow easy vehicle access, views of the site and minimal tree disturbance while accommodating the flood plain accordingly.

Alameda Residence

Christian Rice Architects, Inc.

Coronado, CA The Alameda Residence is situated on a relatively large, yet unusually shaped lot for the beachside community of Coronado, California. The orientation of the “L” shaped main home and linear shaped guest house and covered patio create a large, open courtyard central to the plan. The majority of the spaces in the home are designed to engage in the courtyard, lending a sense of openness and light to the home. The aesthetics take inspiration from the simple, clean lines of a traditional “A-frame” barn, intermixed with sleek, minimal detailing that gives the home a contemporary flair. The interior and exterior materials and colors reflect the bright, vibrant hues and textures of the seaside locale.

10 foyer design tips::EPLAN.HOUSE

What is a foyer?

A non-living space connecting the front door and other rooms of a house or apartment is called a foyer. Over time, the foyer began to be called "call names!" such synonyms as a corridor, an entrance hall, a vestibule and even a vestibule, but all this is not important for us, since in this article we will talk about how to highlight and decorate or simply "revive" the foyer.

How to create a foyer in an open plan living room?

Many homeowners like the open plan living space on the ground floor that starts at the entrance - because it is both convenient and practical. Creating a foyer in such a house will require special experience and skill of the designer. In the event that turning to professionals seems like a waste of time and money to you, you can independently work out the design and create a lobby in accordance with your taste and preferences. To get started, just stand in the door niche of the entrance to the house, take a closer look, visually divide the space, taking into account how you see your lobby and start ... and we will help you with this in this article.

A huge foyer can be both a dream come true and a big problem for the homeowner, because if it is not properly designed and decorated with soulless furniture, the space allotted under the foyer can be too open and not at all welcoming. Cluttering with wardrobes and sofas, as well as breaking the overall style of the house, can be a reason that will help turn your lobby into the entrance to a prehistoric cave)).

Use a rug or bright flooring to create a border between the foyer and the rest of the space. Look at the house project TD-281021, where this advice is successfully used.

Another example where a brightly colored carpet is used to define the border of a foyer, directing guests on the way to the living room. See project of a house with an attic TD-31121-1.5-3. In any case, the color tone of the floor covering is selected taking into account the color of the floor of the entrance group, because the right combination of colors is an indicator of the good taste of the owners.

Personalize your foyer with small pieces of furniture such as a table with chairs or an original daybed, where your guests after a long journey can relax and have a drink chatting with you before the main event.

When creating a spectacular foyer, do not forget to add welcome signs for your guests, these can be indoor plants of various sizes, fresh flowers on the table, or just a dried bouquet in a beautiful amphora.

Many of the presented house projects on our website have a traditional design, but even modern mirrors will add the necessary touch to the foyer of houses and cottages of various styles. No matter how big your foyer is, a mirror can always be hung on a wall or placed on a table to add some light and is a must-have item for your foyer.
