Decorating a rustic cabin
15 ways to create a cozy, rustic space |
It's no wonder that cabin decor ideas are all about creating a sense of warmth and retreat, given the wild landscape that often lies beyond the doors. On the peak of a snowy mountain, or tucked in a pine forest overlooking a lake, cabin decor typically pays tribute to nature, while also creating a reprieve from it.
The cozy cabin look is an obvious choice for log homes, Adirondack camps and midcentury A-frames, but it's an appealing decorating idea for anyone after a look that's casual, nostalgic, and welcoming.
15 cabin decor ideas for a welcoming retreat
Whatever the style of your current home, there are country decorating ideas to achieve a cabin decorating look to suit it. Here are 10 beautiful ideas for cozy cabin vibes.
1. Use hides and leather
(Image credit: Kathryn Hunt Studio / Conor Harrington Photography)
The textiles you choose for your home play a big part in setting its overall tone and style direction. In this Long Island cabin, choosing materials that speak to nature and the local landscape, like hides and leather, are a key part of this rustic bedroom idea, and help create the cozy atmosphere we associate with cabin decorating.
2. Choose neutrals
(Image credit: Bria Hammel / Spacecrafting)
If you love the charm of a rough-hewn space, but prefer a more polished or sophisticated style, choose organic, neutral furniture and decor.
Neutrals feel calming and chic, and create a more contemporary design. Opting for organic shapes and fabrics, like un-bleached linen, concrete, and natural wools maintain an elevated look that still fits within the rustic shell of a cabin home.
3. Set the scene with green
(Image credit: Kathryn Hunt Studio / Conor Harrington Photography)
If cabins are all about paying homage to nature, then green is the ultimate cabin accent color. Above, designer Kate Hunt of Kathryn Hunt Studio chose a classic subway tile for her clients' cabin bathroom, but instead of going for stark white, she chose a soothing jade color that underscores the home's connection to the outdoors.
4. Incorporate stone
(Image credit: Bria Hammel / Spacecrafting)
In case we haven't made this clear, the key to decorating a cabin so that it has a sense of place (i.e., it feels like a cabin) is incorporating natural materials to tie the interiors to the outside.
While wood is an obvious choice, especially in log cabins, stone is another must-have material for cabin decor. Try a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, or use it to frame your range for a standout rustic kitchen idea, like designer Bria Hammel did for this Stone Lake, Wisconsin, cabin.
5. Retrofit rusticity with reclaimed materials
(Image credit: Kathryn Hunt Studio / Conor Harrington Photography)
Just because your home doesn't have a traditional cabin structure doesn't mean you can't make it feel that way inside. If you're looking for a way to make your ski condo feel a little more authentic, for example, or you want to add mountain charm to a new construction, look to reclaimed materials, like salvaged barn board, which lend a authentic, weathered look to any space.
Designer Kate Hunt added historic charm back to her client's gut-renovated Long Island home with reclaimed, salvaged and repurposed materials, including wood from a local barn.
6. Pile on the texture
In a home with a rough-hewn shell, like a log cabin, texture plays a central role in creating an inviting atmosphere. Design firm Rumor Designs achieved a welcoming bedroom idea by mixing a vintage wool rug, a metal and linen bed, and plenty of pillows.
'In our Behr Cabin project, we added character through layers of pillows, throws with plenty of texture and wooden logs mixed with fresh painted chinking to achieve the ultimate cozy feel,' says Lindsey Jamison, lead designer at Rumor Designs.
7. Add camp blankets
Camp blankets, or thick wool blankets often adorned with Southwestern or Adirondack-style prints, are the cabin bedding of choice. Amy Brightman chose them for Warner's Camp , an 1880s farmhouse she owns and designed in the the Adirondack State Park, to create a space she calls 'cozy and true to the area. '
You can purchase similar blankets new from brands like Pendleton or Hudson's Bay, but they're also a flea market favorite and you shouldn't have to search too long to find a vintage version.
8. Go minimalist to let nature shine
If you're after a soothing, zen-like space, take a minimalist approach to cabin decorating. Simple furnishings, white bedding, and few window treatments allow nature and the views beyond the windows to add the decorative element. Plus, sleek design juxtaposed with the rustic architecture of a cabin home creates a balanced, harmonious feel.
9. Create a vintage cabin feel
Cabins are the perfect canvas for vintage finds, so indulge your desire to visit your local antique malls and flea markets.
Items like pennants or camp flags, antler mounts, signs and postcards can be gathered to form a retro wall decor idea, like this one at Camp Wandawega in Wisconsin. Or, start a collection of antique objects like lanterns, oars, skis, or tools to create a display with a story.
10. Add antique pieces
The lived-in nature of antique pieces make them a natural fit for cabin decor.
'In our Cow Creek project, we incorporated a dining table that has been in the owner's family for generations and added tea kettles/pots from the owner's grandmother to bring this slowed-down rural look to life,' says Jamison, whose firm also designed the above space. 'The owner has stories of babies being born on this table way back in the day!'
11. Paint the walls white for a Scandi feel
(Image credit: Cedar Point Aframe / Evelyn Barkey)
Cabin decor tends to skew dim and cozy, but there's no hard-and-fast rule that is has to be. Just take a look at the bright and cheery wall paneling idea at the Cedar Point Aframe.
The angled walls of the cabin are painted white to open up a smaller living area, while the perpendicular walls are left au natural. Owner Sarah Scott took a cue from the combination of white and wood tones, and chose a clean-lined sofa and ceiling fan for a Scandinavian look. A vintage chest adds a subtle rustic element.
12. Add leather (and antlers)
This room, at Camp Wandawega, is a study in cabin decorating. It sets the scene with deep colors like rich browns, forest green, and navy, and rounds out the look with the most classic of cabin decorating trios: a pair of leather sofas, taxidermy mounts, and an antler chandelier.
13. Mix old and new for an updated cabin look
'When designing a space, I generally like to get creative and pair old with new,' says Brightman. 'I think the look we achieved here is a blend of mid century and art deco, with a nod to the Adirondack Great Camp style.'
To get the look, layer vintage furnishings with unexpected contemporary pieces, like the white armchair in the corner of the entryway above.
14. Pull your color palette from nature
Since cabins are all about embracing the outdoors, the paint ideas and decorative elements you incorporate into your home should pull from its surroundings.
This entryway from Rumor Designs uses a color palette of sage green, gray-blue, and brown for the walls and furnishings, which are echoed in the Earth-toned rug.
15. Soak in the view
Cabins celebrate nature, and what better vantage point from which to take in the great outdoors than a soaking tub filled to the brim with bubbles? (Especially if it follows a long day on the hiking, biking, or skiing trail).
In this space by Stonorov Workshop Architects the simple, contemporary lines of the Duravit bathtub add just the right amount of modern contrast to this primitive bathroom.
How do you modernize a cabin?
Modernizing a cabin isn't like updating any other home, because the characteristics that may make it feel dated are likely the same ones that give it its rustic charm. So, you can't exactly give it a gut renovation. But, you can achieve both the goal of having a modern cabin space without stripping away its character. Here are a few ideas:
- Update kitchens and baths. Perhaps the biggest impact you can make on an old cabin is to update the kitchen and bathrooms. Replacing (or painting) old cabinetry, adding new fixtures, and re-tiling floors can make the entire home feel renewed.
- Replace the flooring. Old carpet or peeling linoleum will make your cabin feel dirty and dingy no matter what other updates you do. Replace old flooring with hardwoods, or luxury vinyl plank flooring with a wood look.
- Paint a wall or two. Painting interior timber beams can feel like a sacrilege, but it's not. There are a lot of ways to use paint for wood ceiling ideas so it adds character to your cabin. For example, if you own a chalet-style cabin with a pitched interior roof, you can paint the walls below the roofline to preserve the wood tones while adding a modern element. Or, in a bedroom, paint only the wall behind the bed for an accent wall idea that creates a focal point. Even giving an old brick fireplace a coat of black or white paint can make it feel more modern.
- Add in modern furnishings. Vintage decor is a natural fit for cabins, but if you use only vintage, you'll run the risk of an older cabin looking like a time capsule. Instead, choose new furniture with clean lines, and pepper in vintage pieces as accents, and a way to tie together new style and old.

Decorating a wooden house inside: 30 photos with ideas for interior decorating a wooden house
Finishing the facade and interior of a wooden house can differ like life before the wedding and after. And the point here is not only in different environmental conditions, but also in different tasks. If the exterior primarily interacts with the landscape, then the options for interior decoration of the house, first of all, dictate its layout and the master's ideas about the harmonious design of the living space. The interior of a wooden country house can be anything - bright and calm, "urban" and "country", progressive and old-fashioned, but not boring. Let's see how you can use the aesthetics of wood inside the house for different cases using the example of completed projects in Russia and abroad.
Continued. First part: Exterior of a wooden house: 20 projects with ideas “for life”

Success through pastel
The wall of a wooden house, even in its “naked” form, has its own color and character - it is not always worth decorating it additionally. If you don’t really like the shade of natural wood, but at the same time you want to keep the peace and warmth emanating from it as much as possible, avoid “pure” colors and intrusive contrasts. In the project in the photo, the designer managed only two pastel shades.

Double-height windows: options for finishing a wooden house inside
Take the height
A living room in a country house is a place of attraction for all living things. The more spacious it looks, the better. If the house is low, it is better to make the central zone (hall, living room) under the ceiling, sacrificing part of the second level, but you will get volume and twice as much light from the front windows. Long, two window openings at once, curtains will help to stretch the room even more. Although it is better to think about the height of the living room, of course, not during the finishing of your wooden house, but at the design stage.

Warmer, even warmer
Carpets will be appropriate in any wooden house, since they are purely ideologically similar to wood in terms of "heat transfer". In addition, with their help, you can select different zones of the internal space. Especially this method works well in a snow-white interior. By the way, the white double bass is a bar. Knowledge that cannot be shared.

Hide cuts in cabinets
The owners of this house in the Moscow region were not particularly captivated by the aesthetics of the hut, so they hid (where they could) a rounded log behind smooth panels with a wooden pattern. The trick is that these are not just panels, but full-fledged cabinets on a push-up system (pressed-opened): not only wires and pipes are hidden there, but also a lot of household items.

Furniture without corners
Furniture of bionic natural forms organically looks in a wooden setting. The beauty of such a table, as in the photo, is also in its lightness: the glass top does not hide the decorative base and does not overload the interior.

Slatted ceiling with built-in light
In order not to underestimate the ceilings, it makes sense to use slatted lathing instead of drywall. Wiring can be run in grooves, and fixtures can be built between suspension rails. Such a ceiling looks not only pretty, but also voluminous. In this project, 10 cm slats were used.

Lace instead of color
If you don't want to overload the interior with bright details and it is important to keep the "feeling of a whisper", you can use volumetric decor in the same color scheme as the wall - for example, openwork carving. The lace frame in the photo frames the large clock. In the same project, the study and bedroom are decorated with carved ceilings.

You can't spoil a wooden interior with firewood
Another interesting idea from this project is decorating the fireplace portal with a woodpile in a metal frame. Creating such an installation will require not only firewood, but also patience - all the logs are fitted to one another and manually fixed. And who said that decorating a wooden house inside with your own hands is easy?

50 shades of white
The wooden house in the photo belongs to a family from Krasnogorsk. The owners liked the natural wood paneling, but lacked elegance and lightness in the interior. Then the designers proposed to complement the woody palette in the living room with complex light shades (they are also called shades of white) in furniture, textiles and tiles. Cream, baked milk, ivory, arctic snow - all these shades coexist perfectly with wooden walls, making the interior more airy. Yes, and more modern, what is already there.

Cages and canopies
In this dwelling on Istra, the hostess really wanted to preserve the color and texture of the Angarsk pine, so the decoration of the walls of the wooden house turned into a spot work to create comfort. Lights and candlesticks in the form of bird cages, wicker furniture, fresh flowers and floral ornaments hint at the French country. And in the daughter's bedroom, the massive finish of the wooden house balances the airy canopy over the bed.

Tiles and majolica in the fireplace area
Do-it-yourself decoration of a wooden house has clear limitations: many “apartment” decorating techniques here become visual noise. Fortunately, there are tiles - what looks like an intrusive solution for finishing a fireplace in a cramped apartment, here it turns out to be just right. If you want to make the hearth the compositional center of the room, use tiles or under-tile tiles, as in this project. The area around the fireplace (and kitchen apron) can be highlighted with majolica with floral patterns.

Patchwork porcelain stoneware
If there is no money or energy for tiles and glazed ceramics, the walls in the fireplace or stove area can be decorated with patchwork porcelain stoneware.

Stone won't hurt
Decorator Anna Vasilyeva chose imitation timber for her carcass. Finishing the house with wood both outside and inside resembles the aesthetics of Finnish cottages. To maintain the Scandinavian country style, the facades of the building were painted in light gray (white and gray were mixed on site until they were in unison with the external environment). And for the design of a wooden house inside (pictured), stained spruce timber, stone, furniture with a shabby texture and stuffed birds are responsible.
COUTURE INTERIORS
Come on, plate swords on the wall
To add light and dimension to the room, one of the walls in this project is finished with mirror panels. The blue-and-white gzhel at the joints helped to preserve the retro style of the interior. For a modern-style house, this technique would be on the verge of kitsch, and in a wooden wall with painted plates it looks very organic.

Cabinets without walls
An interesting option for a wooden interior is to make open cabinets without back walls. Why hide the beauty of natural wood? On the contrary, it can be emphasized with the help of lighting built into the cabinet.

Double - forged
Win-win style for finishing a wooden house - Provence. A win-win technique for Provence is wrought iron furniture. It won't outdo wood paneling, no matter what wall color you choose.
Tatyana Ilyina (Sorokina)
Or draw
A wrought iron bed doesn't have to be wrought iron - it's quite expensive. The black headboard, “flirting” with the table lamp in the photo, is another illusion. It's just painted on the wall. In another room of this house, a fabulous tree has grown at the head of the bed. To talk about what you can do when decorating a wooden house inside with your own hand.
Tatyana Ilyina (Sorokina)
Shafts - in the furnace
One of the typical problems in a wooden house is how to hide ventilation shafts so that they do not spoil the interior. In this project near Moscow, they were designed in the form of false ovens, tiled with tiles to look like glazed ceramics. Looking at the cast-iron oven doors and spectacular "chimneys", it is impossible to think that this is an architectural trick that supports the aesthetics of the chalet.
Tatyana Ilyina (Sorokina)
Wooden doors in the bathroom
Finishing a bathroom in a wooden house (pictured) is a special issue. Someone is afraid of dampness and fungus, refusing wood in favor of tiles, while someone is looking for high-quality antiseptics and varnishes to preserve the charm of an alpine hut (a Provence-style house or a Russian hut). Pay attention to how the "screen" under the bath bowl is trimmed. Brutal wooden doors with "forged" hinges provide access to the pipes.
Olga Ashby Interiors
Aquarium in the wall
Another typical problem of decorating a wooden house inside is massive blank walls. Especially if they have constructive value. Even more so if we are talking about a log house. Most often, this problem is solved with the help of mirrors that create the feeling of a window. But in this house near Moscow on Dmitrovsky highway, they solved the problem differently - they inserted a large aquarium into the wall. Glass lets in sunlight and visually connects the living room with the dining room. It is important not to forget that log cabins tend to expand and contract depending on the season. So lay backlash for the aquarium. By the way, there were some reflections here too - equipment is hidden in the mirrored cabinets under the aquarium.

Chalet: turn down the brightness
The basic formula of chalet style: wood + stone. Both of these components should not create the feeling of a remake, so the stone is chosen in discreet tones, and the wood is aged, stained, tinted and patinated. You will not find brightly colored details in the Alpine style, all shades here are muted, soft. You can diversify the range of materials using any natural "ingredients" of the same wood range. It can be black metal, linen, leather, horns, etc. The same puffs can be upholstered with a bull skin - it will look expensive and warm (does not work on vegetarians).
Tatyana Stashchuk
The same tree, only in profile
If you are already looking at this pretty couch, a replica of Le Corbusier's popular model, then, in order to avoid envy, do not look higher - there is a remote-controlled ceiling solarium above the chair. Look to the right - it demonstrates an interesting way to decorate a wooden house inside with your own hands. The wall is decorated with cut logs: very simple, and at the same time spectacular.
Ekaterina Seryozhina
Wall corks
Wine corks are another suitable material for decorating the wall of a wooden house. Cut each cork into two halves and glue them over the selected wall. So your collection will be in front of everyone, and the room will receive an additional portion of warmth and volume.
Rosbri Decor Studio
Floral print wallpaper
Furnishing a rustic wooden house does not oblige owners to create an all-wood interior, especially if you want to get a home in the English or American style. Wood goes well with paper, but it should be wallpaper that is not inferior to it in depth and charisma. A common demarcation option: the bottom is wooden, and the upper part of the room is decorated with wallpaper in a large floral pattern. The photo shows the men's area of the house in Vladimir, finished with wallpaper from The Modern Gentleman collection of the American brand with French roots Chesapeake. The tree is an amber-coloured oak.
Lavka-Design
If there is only one accent
Wood trim inside the house cannot but take into account its dimensions. The natural shade of wood can make small spaces even tighter, so it is better to tint it in translucent white: this way the woody pattern will be preserved and the room will look more spacious. A whitened background allows you to use large bright details, but it is better that there is one accent color and few details, otherwise they will start arguing with each other. In the project in the photo, such a detail was a green staircase, under which vintage suitcases are stored.
Lavka-Design
Sometimes a tablecloth is not just a tablecloth
Another life hack from the same project with an apple orchard: instead of curtains in several rooms, including in the photo, Ivanovo linen tablecloths were used.

Pink plywood and black glass
Plywood is the best material for the walls of a country wooden house in a modern minimalist style. It can be tinted in any tone according to the design project, without losing the feeling of warmth of natural wood. Plywood is also good because it is suitable for the production of built-in furniture in a uniform interior.
The wooden house in the photo uses glued panels of 12 and 6 mm plywood, varnished in a light pink shade like Canadian cedar. Another finishing material in the project - black tempered glass - works in contrast with light wood, but remains in the same minimalist clip. A white leather sofa with a modern rectangular shape completes this game.
Evgenia Shimkevich
Clapboard like a canvas
The finishing process in a wooden house depends not only on the design concept, but also on the dimensions of the room.
For example, clapboard is less suitable for creating a modern interior than plywood or OSB. But with its help, it is easiest to create a light country atmosphere and stretch the room in length or height, depending on the direction of the board. So, in the project in the photo, the grassy color immediately dips the kitchen-living room of the Samara house into the summer and makes the ceilings higher.
VHZ Design Group
Unusual in the ordinary
There can be a lot of wooden decor in the interior of a country house, as it corresponds to the general eco-style. Cones, driftwood, twigs, hemp - ideally, each item should have its own purpose. So, in this American house, an old wooden boat has become a closet and the main highlight of the rustic-style living room. The contrast "white pine background - dark stained decor" always works well.

Interior decoration of the walls of a wooden house
Even inside the house, raw wood materials lose their decorative look. Carrying out the interior decoration of wooden surfaces, craftsmen treat wood with an antiseptic that has water-repellent and disinfectant properties, caulk the seams, veneer the floor, ceiling and wall surfaces. When restoring and processing wooden structures the features and characteristics of wood are taken into account. Specialized teams of REMCRAFT masters perform work on finishing of wooden houses qualitatively and within the established deadlines. Services include the creation of a design project that reflects features of the future interior.
1.
Why decorate a wooden house from the inside?
The wood itself is aesthetically pleasing and, in good condition, does not require cladding. The house is especially attractive built of rounded logs and glued beams. For decorative purposes, the surfaces are covered only with a colorless varnish. or toning. For a house made of unprofiled timber, a different cladding is used. The surface of such materials is polished, processed and in some cases covered with a facing material, for example, block house or decorative panels.
Wood needs finishing work for the following reasons:
- Fire safety. All raw lumber is highly flammable when exposed to high temperatures. To reduce the flammability of the material, a special type of impregnation is used.
- Pest protection. The natural structure is attractive to pests and insects. To protect the tree, to the surface lacquers, impregnations or synthetic linings are applied.
- Aesthetic appearance. Over time, a private house loses its decorative qualities and requires restoration. Facing coatings are a great way to cover damaged areas and make your home interior aesthetic.
2.
Features of finishing wooden walls
The interior finishing of the cottages is realized only after the structure of the house sits down. For shrinkage processes occur differently for each type of lumber. The duration of the shrinkage process is determined by the type of processing building material. For example, a house made of glued laminated timber will dry out and shrink faster than a house made of logs. Finishing works are planned in 3-12 months after wood drying.
Before starting the facing work, the master evaluates the condition of all the coverings in the house. A list of repairs is determined, selected interior decoration of the walls of a wooden house, hydro-, thermal insulation. Decayed parts of the tree are removed and replaced with new ones. Replacing structural elements is a large amount of work involving craftsmen with a suitable specialization.
Measures for bio- and fire protection of a wooden house. Wood is a natural material with a porous structure that absorbs moisture and changes volume (swells). In addition to the danger of swelling, lumber is at risk of ignition. To reduce such risk factors, impregnations are used that include hydrophobic and non-combustible components.
Use of natural materials. Wood trim is valued for its naturalness and safety. Its structure contains no synthetic additives, polymers and other non-natural additives. It is cozy and easy to breathe in the premises of a wooden house. Even when heated by the sun, wood does not emit toxic fumes and formaldehydes. Lumber according to its characteristics is suitable for construction and interior decoration of private houses.
Lightweight material used. The weight of lumber is determined by the technology of the preparatory stages of processing. For example, rounded logs are heavier than glued or profiled logs. The degree of shrinkage will also affect the weight of the log house. Lightweight lumber is often used in low-rise construction and for interior decoration of houses. Most lumber buildings does not imply a reinforced foundation.
Hiding utilities behind the interior. In any wooden houses, wire networks are placed in special protective boxes. The use of facing materials that provide for a crate will allow you to safely hide all engineering networks under the finish. In old buildings, the problems of masking wires are very relevant. To solve the problem of visible pipes and electrical wiring, it is required in advance prepared sketch.
3.
Interior finishes
The same materials are suitable for finishing inside a wooden house as for block, brick and reinforced concrete buildings. It is possible to finish the walls with plasterboard or panels. For old houses, this option will be a rational choice - cladding hide the imperfections of the walls. Also, the direction with the preservation of wood texture is popular. This method is often used inside a wooden house built of timber or logs. About interior finishes:
3.1 Natural finish
Interior wall decoration in a wooden house in natural format involves the application of colorless varnishes, impregnations, tinting compositions, as well as paints for wood. A similar design emphasizes a beautiful pattern fibers and creates a feeling of comfort. Paints and varnishes have decorative and protective functions, affordable and suitable for different design directions.
3.2 Clapboard finish
This is a simple and inexpensive material for interior decoration using sanded edged boards. It is subdivided into 2 classes: lamellas without docking joints and lamellas with interlocking joints. In finishing of the premises of the house, lining of the second type is used, tight docking ensures accurate laying without distortions and other defects.
3.3 Plasterboard decoration
Used for surface finishing and interior design elements. Before facing, a frame is mounted with a gap of 2-4 cm to the wall surface. This type of interior decoration it is used only after shrinkage of wooden house structures due to the fragility of gypsum sheets. Peculiarity cladding - the areas where the sheets are joined are glued with a reinforcing mesh made of polymers.
3.4 Plastering
Plastering is possible after the wooden house has dried out. To ensure strong adhesion to the surface, thin wood materials (shingles) are stuffed onto the walls according to the type crates. In the decoration of wood walls, cement-sand plaster is more often used.
3.5 Finishing with wall panels
Panels, as well as drywall, provide for the installation of battens. The gap inside between the walls and the frame hides all the irregularities and allows hidden wiring or other engineering networks. Different textures and colors of panels are used to create classic and ultra-modern stylistic trends.
Wooden houses can be paneled:
- Plastic panels. This is an affordable and unpretentious option, provides for simple installation. Mimics natural materials decorated with different textures, shapes and colors. It can be mounted in the premises of a wooden house with an unstable temperature and a humid environment.
- Wooden panels. A modern look for interior cladding with aesthetic exterior qualities. Finishing inside the wooden at home involves the use of textures with imitation of wood species.
- Glass panels. The texture of glass surfaces can be embossed or smooth. The external design of the glass is varied: matte, transparent, colored surfaces, applied photo printing.
- Leather panels. An expensive option for interior decoration, mainly mounted on separate sections of the walls. Used in appropriate interior styles such as art deco. The exterior is suitable for a bedroom, dining area or office.
- MDF panels. Strict and versatile material for premises of any purpose. The top layer is veneered or laminated finishing. The design of the panels provides design options for different types of wood.
4.
Technology
Despite the aesthetics of wood, a set of measures is required to protect surfaces against insects, mold formations, moisture absorption and unstable temperature conditions. Wall decoration and the list of housework is determined after evaluating the structural elements of the log house and agreed with the customer. Technology finishing works includes the following stages:
4.1 Treatment with protective compounds (antiseptic)
Disinfectant solutions are applied to all interior surfaces of the wooden house. impregnating composition is selected according to its purpose: for floor, ceiling and wall surfaces. Antiseptics have synthetic, oil or water base. Before application, the surface area to be treated is calculated. Before the beginning of processing, the walls are cleaned using scrapers and brushes. Vapor-permeable for residential premises water-based formulations without a strong odor. The solution is applied using brushes and rollers. Drying period water antiseptic - up to 18 days.
4.2 Wall caulking
When finishing rooms, it is necessary to seal the butt joints of timber or logs with the help of fibrous heat-insulating materials. Caulking seams is performed in different ways. The first method is "stretching" - it involves stretching the insulation tape along the direction fibers and fixing it in the seams with a special tool. Outside leaves 5 cm tow, protruding material is rolled up and stuffed into the gap. The second way is “in a set” - loops are drawn from a heater wound into a ball and caulked into the slot until it stops. Way suitable for sealing wide gaps between beams or logs. The caulking of the gaps of a wooden house starts from the bottom and is carried out around the perimeter.
4.3 Laying of utilities
Engineering equipment includes water supply pipelines, ventilation, electrical wiring, and sewage disposal. Electrical wires are mounted in a private house with strict observance of fire safety standards; an experienced electrician is required. Water supply and sewerage in a private wooden house work offline and provide for professional installation. Ventilation is equipped in the bathroom and in the kitchen to ensure well-established air exchange. The scheme of engineering networks of private houses is being developed in advance, taking into account the needs of the residents of a wooden house. Engineering work on the installation of systems provides for a certain priority.
4.4 Wall decoration
