Architects headed by Nina Prudnikova and their three children were invited to complete the facades and decorate the interior of their unfinished country house. “The house made a good impression on us,” says Philip Yushin, one of the authors of the project. “Logical layout in general, spacious rooms, high ceilings, large areas for maneuver.”
The central element of the living room is a fireplace made according to the sketches of Philip Yushin by the St. Petersburg Fireplaces Company. A massive architectural composition of a marble portal, an aged mirror and natural slate demonstrates the power and scale of the room.

However, from the point of view of the architects, there were still some shortcomings in the planning solution. Asymmetrical bathrooms, the entrance to the spa area was located rather strangely - next to the office.
There were other misunderstandings as well. The authors of the project corrected them and made the space more comfortable and in line with the lifestyle of customers. So, for example, two kitchens were equipped on the first floor: a front one and a working one, which has the main burden of cooking. A small kitchen was also designed in the private block of the hostess on the second floor. In the morning she can make coffee without going downstairs. For each of the younger members of the family, they designed their own private space with a bedroom and a bathroom. In general, the functional structure has acquired a complete and clear form.
For the kitchen-dining room, the architects chose an Eggersmann kitchen with different types of facades. The laconic, modern design of the doors of the lower cabinets, combined with the light classic facades of the upper ones, clearly reflect the essence of this interior. Chairs, XVL. The large-scale volume required special interior solutions.
High plinths and door portals, wide cornices, a gigantic fireplace and panoramic windows emphasized the power and beauty of the interior space, while a mixture of classical and modern techniques, ethnic motifs and unique authorings gave the interior an individual character. “Most of the joinery, the intricate stair railing system, the metal work, the massive plaster friezes were all designed from the ground up, with no templates,” notes Philippe. “Also, for the first time in the design, we actively used large dark-colored planes (made of textured stone or painted), and in some places we made completely black rooms.”
The office is located opposite the main dining room. The walls in both rooms are painted in a complex brown hue. “We love to use a combination of dark and light,” notes Philip Yushin. “Against the backdrop of a bright living room, the office and dining room look cozier, richer, more elegant.” Sofa, Maison Santamaria.
This emphatically modern history in no way clashes with the neoclassical nature of the interior.
Each of the spouses has their own personal, private space, consisting of a bedroom, bathroom and dressing rooms. The "female" part is designed in delicate, powdery shades, the male half, in turn, is decorated strictly and concisely. “We never focus on fashion trends,” sums up Nina Prudnikova. - Everything that is temporary, it will certainly go away. Asceticism is needed in the living space, if luxury, then not ostentatious. Living space for people to live is our fundamental design approach.”
