Family room ideas are the perfect spot for gathering as a household, entertaining and even a quiet spot of relaxation, therefore, it is imperative that we give the interior design of these spaces just as much consideration as we would the rest of the home.
While the first reception room may be the place for more formal living room ideas aimed at hosting guests, a family room is the part of the house where movie nights reign supreme, the kids can indulge in their favorite board games, and the whole family can relax in each other’s company.
If your home has just one dedicated family room, you’ll need to work out how to balance even more eventualities – luckily, we’ve pulled together a whole host of solutions to make any living area fit for the whole household.
Turn your family room into a sociable hub for the whole clan with our curated selection of design rules, as told by the experts.
Family room ideas
From the best living room storage ideas to smart seating and furniture arrangements with enough room for everyone to kick back and relax, we’ve sought out some truly inspiring spaces, and asked the experts to share their favorite family room ideas.
1. Maximize storage in a family room
‘As we spend more time at home, we become more aware than ever of the need for space,’ says Simon Tcherniak, senior furniture designer at Neville Johnson. ‘Family rooms that were once forgotten are being rejuvenated as tranquil spaces or multifunctional living (and entertaining) zones.'
'The family room is where the demand is greatest at the moment. Homeowners are looking for a dynamic space that allows them the time to unwind at the end of a busy day but also one that will really benefit from the additional family time we have all been afforded in recent months. ’
2. Ensure that your family room is well-lit
(Image credit: Future / Jonathan Gooch)
'The first thing I do when planning living room lighting ideas is to find places in a space for table lamps, sconces, picture lights, pendants, floor lamps and desk lights – decorative elements come first,' says Tiffany Duggan of Studio Duggan and Trove.
Consider how the light changes throughout the day when thinking about where to position lights to create the most impact. 'Think about flexible light sources for different situations: a floor light with a swivel arm is ideal as an evening reading lamp behind a sofa or chair,' says Hollie Moreland, creative director of David Hunt Lighting. 'Remember that shade certainly living room color ideas can affect the mood of a room, so for added ambience, choose dark living room tones which will feel moodier and cozier – perfect for movie nights in.'
3. Factor technology into your plans
(Image credit: Paul Raeside / Future)
Provide a place for entertainment without sacrificing style. A TV, and other technology, is an important factor in most family rooms, from Wi-Fi access to background music, and the trend is towards totally concealed solutions.
Don't let a TV spoil your living room aesthetic. Invest in a TV that blends beautifully into the background without interrupting the rest of the scheme, and be sure to keep wires hidden behind cupboards or within the walls.
Alternatively, if you are fitting a wall of living room storage that incorporates a space for your TV, allow sufficient room should you decide to invest in a larger model. Try not to create too big a gap, as your TV will look awkwardly small.
4. Get the furniture right
‘Getting the living room furniture right in a family room is one of the biggest challenges in family rooms,' says Mike Fisher, creative director and founder, Studio Indigo .
'This needs to be a practical space, whether for watching TV or creating good conversation. What you choose needs to be stylish and contribute to the personality and harmony of the space. Inevitably, I find people often graduate to the smaller rooms of a house as they are more intimate and cozier, whereas big rooms can make you feel small and uncomfortable. Be bold with your little space and use large-scale furniture sparingly to give the illusion that the room is grander than it is.’
5. Use pattern to enhance character
‘The family living room is a communal space and should reflect everyone who lives in the house,' says Eva Sonaike, creative director, Eva Sonaike. 'It is a room where we socialize, entertain and relax so the design should be functional, but also fun. I like to play with pattern and color here. For example, I might use patterned scatter cushions on a living room sofa alongside occasional chairs and pouffes upholstered in fabrics of your choice. These themes can then be echoed in accessories such as ornaments with colorful designs. ’
6. Choose furnishings wisely
‘Furnishings play an essential role in how your family room ideas are received – and consumed,' says James Thurstan Waterworth, founder, Thurstan.
'When working with less spacious family rooms, we recommend a considered curation of essential pieces – spreading a large rug as an anchor for the scheme and then building out from there, picking out tones from the rug and embellishing these throughout the room. A central table can create a focal point in a small living room, best framed by inward-facing armchairs which help create depth and volume.’
7. Visually expand your space with clever color choices
‘When a single color is used on both walls and woodwork, a room suddenly feels bigger because having no contrast means that you are less aware of the confines of the space,' says Joa Studholme, color curator, Farrow & Ball . 'The eye does not stop to register a second color and glides straight out of the window to the view, blending the garden and room together. ’
Get your whole family involved in the color process, and step away from the obvious choices. This is a room for the entire household, so now is your chance to get truly creative.
8. Go big in a small family home
‘People often assume they should buy small-scale furniture for small family rooms, but that actually makes a space feel smaller,' says Sheena Murphy, partner, Nune. 'Don’t be afraid to fill the room – get a rug that fully sits under all your furniture, and don’t buy a love seat if you can actually fit a three-seater living room sofa in the room. Not only will buying larger scale furniture look better, it will also make your experience of this sociable space so much more comfortable: win-win!’
9. Create a hub for family life with an open plan space
(Image credit: Anna Stathaki / Future)
There is a good reason why open-plan living room ideas are still so popular. Moving beyond the kitchen, a modern open-concept family room ditches the formal living space, home office and reception room in favor of one large, multifunctional space, with entertaining at its heart.
If you are a family that likes to gather – together or with friends – family living room ideas like these will suit your lifestyle. ‘The main motivation for creating an open-concept family space is to be more sociable. Parents can prepare meals while interacting with their children, perhaps helping them with homework, and monitor TV or internet use,’ says Robert Burnett of Holloways of Ludlow .
What's more, heating and lighting one space rather than several can also help reduce your energy bill in the colder months.
10. Opt for child-friendly furnishings and upholstery
Child and pet-friendly fabrics and finishes are a must for every family room. ‘We don't believe that aesthetics need to be compromised by functionality,’ says Clara Ewart, Head of Design at Kitesgrove . ‘Clients are often understandably worried about using expensive materials or finishes in rooms used by young children, but there are plenty of fabulous products that are easy to clean and maintain. '
Also, when devising a family room that is safe for children, look to furniture with curved rather than straight edges. 'Curves are very much on trend for 2022, softening the lines in the interior to create a much more welcoming space that is suitable for the entire household,' says Graeme Smith, conceptual designer at Metris.
What do you put in a family room?
When it comes to designing a family room, for most households, a TV is an essential tool for helping adults unwind, keeping the kids entertained, and facilitating cozy movie nights.
Optimum living room seating is another family room idea that should be considered during the initial planning stage. 'We recommend that you plan seating in groups to ensure conversation flows when you have guests and consider scale and how different pieces will sit together,' says interior designer Nina Campbell . 'Seating heights vary so balance is key, but make sure that everyone is seated at the same level.'
If you want to get the whole family involved in the decorating, consider incorporating a beautifully-curated gallery wall. Informal family rooms are a great place to display family photographs. Alternatively, curate your own feature wall by hanging artwork together as a cluster or group. Decide which paintings, prints or fabric will anchor the scheme then take your decorating cues from them.
What is the difference between a living room and a family room?
'Most living rooms are located at the front of the home and are used for entertaining guests in a formal living room setting,’ explains interior designer Darla Bankston May . ‘Valuable possessions and family heirlooms are incorporated in the design of the room. The family room is a casual space located towards the back of the home. This room is multifunctional and provides a space for relaxation, recreational activities, and socializing with family and friends.’
‘I think most people understand the family room to be a relaxed space where family and close friends gather, play games, and watch television,’ adds Eyles. ‘The living room used to be a formal place for parties only, more adult, and a lot stiffer – those descriptions are much more fluid today. ’
‘Some houses have a game room or media room, and some have done away with any distinction between the family room and living room altogether. We are seeing a lot of people who want only one multi-functional space that works for an elegant cocktail party or family game night.’

Upholster Everything
Okay, well, you don't have to upholster literally everything, but if you have little kids running around, the softer your anchor items the better. A fabric-covered ottoman with a tray on top, for example, is much more family-friendly than a glass coffee table (and did you know? You can even upholster walls!). It can be kid-proof and upscale if you use a mix of classic and playful prints, traditional pieces, and unexpected colors. This polished space by Nick Olsen is a great example.

DIY room decor - 12 best ideas, beautiful decor
An interior can be functional or comfortable, but it's the little details that bring a sense of coziness and uniqueness to a room. After all, a house is not just a place where we satisfy our vital needs, but a kind of continuation of our individuality. There are many ideas for decoration, but we have chosen 12 of the most beautiful do-it-yourself room decor options that everyone can implement on their own.
1. Bottle garden or florarium
Potted flowers look very cute, but to bring a unique touch to the interior of the room, we suggest going a little further and putting a garden in a bottle. This is an amazing solution that allows you to grow whimsical plants that will not survive in normal conditions.
A sealed container with a minimum amount of air creates a humid atmosphere, ideal for certain types of flora. These include: calamus, royal begonia, bromeliad cryptanthus, pellionia, common ivy and others. When choosing plants, be guided not only by their external properties, but also by height - it is necessary that it matches the size of the container.
Any glass container with a neck that is easy to close and convenient for planting can become a "home" for the garden.
So, first you need to fill the bottle with material for drainage and earth. Think over the composition, then dig holes with a spoon with an elongated handle. Next, using two sticks, place the sprouts in them, and after tamping the ground, spray them. Florarium is ready!
2. Geometric shelves
Sometimes it's better to forego massive bookcases and use simple compositions of geometric shapes in the interior instead. Due to the conciseness, such shelves will perfectly fit into any design without causing difficulties during creation.
They are made like ordinary shelves - from flat boards of fiberboard or wood, and due to their unusual shape they do not require additional decorations to attract attention. Also, to diversify the design, you can, for example, hang the design on a hook. Just do not put easily breakable objects there.
3. Decorate the wall with nails and thread
No matter how strange this phrase may sound, but the decor of nails and threads is a real-life direction, which is called stringart. This solution is suitable for decorating walls, furniture, boards. At the same time, creative people have a place to turn around - you can not only come up with any composition, but also randomly wind a strand, creating a unique work.
You will need thread, nails and a base to drive them into. But before starting work, you need to come up with a sketch of the composition, clearly highlighting the main lines. Following them, metal hooks are installed, between which a strand passes.
There are many variants of drawings: words, silhouettes, signs, abstractions and even detailed paintings with a variety of colors. The main thing is that you will not find the same decor anywhere else.
4. Cutlery coat hooks
Why not give old spoons and forks that are not suitable for direct use a second chance by turning them into a practical decorative element? With the help of simple manipulations, cutlery will become unusual coat hooks in the hallway, attracting the attention of guests.
A metal object can be bent with a hammer or a vise, and for mounting on a base, it is enough to nail the part with an ordinary nail.
The forks look interesting, the teeth of which are directed in different directions. With a certain skill and the availability of the necessary equipment, names or simple patterns can be engraved on hooks.
5. Ottomans from old magazines
And although today the main sources of information are the Internet and television, quite recently people learned about the areas of interest in life from magazines, of which more than a dozen have accumulated in many homes since then. Instead of throwing away waste paper, we suggest making a comfortable ottoman out of it.
This piece of furniture, in addition to magazines about gardening or construction, consists of a wooden base (which you can make yourself from a blockboard), a cushion and two old straps that tighten the whole structure.
It is recommended to select publications of the same format, but even different ones will look very original. At the same time, depending on the appearance of the elements and the theme of the magazines, the ottoman will fit into a modern or more vintage interior.
6. Thread lampshade
It happens that you go to a store for a chandelier: there are a lot of options, but the prices bite, and the presented models do not fit into the interior. If you want to decorate your home with something unusual, you can make a lampshade with your own hands, using only yarn, glue, plastic wrap and a balloon.
The balloon must be inflated, wrapped with polyethylene film, and on top of it - with threads, leaving a small hole. Next, glue is applied to the workpiece, after which the base must be removed after drying. The final stage is the electrical connection to the lampshade.
This shade can be used for both chandeliers and lamps. Try not to overdo it with threads - the design must be strong, while leaving gaps. White yarn is suitable for a modern interior, and multi-colored yarn will create bright accents.
7. Curtains for doorways
In rooms where it was decided to abandon doors to save space, small curtains or curtains can be used as a light partition. Moreover, there are many design options, so it will not be difficult to enter such an element into the interior design.
Instead of a solid, albeit transparent fabric, it is better to opt for curtains made of ribbons, felt beads (for a cozy atmosphere) or glossy details collected in a chain (this will add a little gloss).
Creating such a product is not difficult, the main thing is to decide on the material and color scheme. The partition is usually mounted on a mounted crossbar, which ensures easy movement if necessary.
8. Possibilities of decorative tape
Adhesive tape can not only glue paper, but also create aesthetic geometric compositions in the interior. It is much more convenient to use, and the variability of colors and patterns only expands the decor possibilities.
Paper tape is more suitable for modern design, where such unusual solutions look most organic. Using adhesive tape, you can, for example, circle pieces of furniture, diversify plain surfaces, “write” words or phrases, and even zoning.
You can also decorate smaller details, such as vases or photo frames, since products of different sizes are presented on the modern market. It all depends on the imagination, as well as the possibilities of the room.
9. Decoupage in the interior
Probably, many have heard about this simple, aesthetic version of the decor, only in the context of small crafts. But with the help of napkins and glue, you can easily decorate larger items, creating a unique atmosphere in the interior.
Decoupage is used to decorate even surfaces of furniture, tiles, glass. The drawing depends on the style of the room: for example, floral patterns are suitable for classics and Provence, newspaper clippings can be used for a loft, and bright combinations of various pictures for pop art.
For work you will need: an image on thin paper, PVA glue, a degreaser and acrylic varnish to securely fix the decor on the object. It is better to practice beforehand, as with inaccurate application, bubbles or other traces may remain.
10. Garlands for every day
p>Glowing lights are not only a New Year's attribute. They can also be used for everyday decor, creating real magic in the room.
Garlands turn into a kind of night light when placed in a glass container, like a jar or vase. You can also hang them on the back of the bed, but the lights on the canopies look even more spectacular. Just remember to be safe and check that the adjacent material does not heat up.
Wall-mounted garlands look great with Polaroid photos, lighting them up beautifully. When inscribing such lighting into the interior of a room, it is important to keep the line between festive and everyday design.
11. Illuminated mirror frame
This type of mirror is called a dressing room, as it illuminates the stars as much as possible during the application of makeup and is often used in the corresponding rooms. But even in the living room, the illuminated frame has found its place, becoming a popular design solution.
It can fit into the bedroom, but it looks best in a modern bathroom. To make a product, you will need a wooden frame, lamps, wires, as well as the ability of an electrician.
Please note that during installation it is necessary to use fluorescent lamps, as conventional ones create a lot of heat.
12. Candles in the interior
Of course, electric lighting is much more practical, but candles are unlikely to ever lose their mystical charm, continuing to act as an independent decor element.
But using a few candles in an interior is too banal. We are talking about a whole composition that will rather fit into the classical style, bringing into it the romance of ancient castles.
This kind of lighting looks amazing, displayed in several rows and placed on a separate shelf. To heighten the effect, you can hang the support from the ceiling, carefully choosing a safe place - jokes with fire are bad, and dripping wax can be inconvenient. But this is where the shortcomings of such a decor end, because a lot can be forgiven for a spectacular appearance.

1. Be consistent
adv.rbc.ru
Be sure to decide on the design style and try to follow it in all categories of jewelry. Scandi, eco-style, minimalism and retro are especially relevant now. Do not mix them, choose what is closer to you and causes more positive emotions.
Scandi style, as you can guess from the name, came from the Scandinavian countries. It is characterized by airiness, a lot of light, light shades, pastel colors, etc. (Photo: shutterstock)
Anastasia Liverko : “Decor in the same style will always be relevant. It is better to decide in advance on the design style and try to follow it when choosing decorations and interior styling. Now minimalism, eco-style, scandi and retro are in fashion. And the trends of 2023 will be boho and japandi, so you can start experimenting now. Boho is calm colors complemented by bright details. You can choose a colored tree, such as pink, and decorate it in pink and gold tones, this range should also be followed when decorating the entire interior. Japandi is a hybrid of Scandinavian style and Asian motifs. Its main palette is neutral, and it can be diluted with bright elements. If you decide to decorate your house in this style, then you can choose a bold decision: instead of a Christmas tree, use an artificial tree without leaves or a composition of dried flowers. And for the decor of the table and rooms, wickerwork, balls of pastel colors and fresh flowers are perfect.
2. Try retro and vintage eclecticism
Anastasia Liverko believes that a calm color palette will always be in demand in the decor of any interior, but the New Year is a time for celebration and magic when you want to escape from everything familiar and open up to something new. This year, retro and Soviet chic are in fashion, by the way, not only in Russia. The retro style is characterized by gold and copper colors, while the Soviet style is bright and incompatible with each other. If you choose the Soviet style, then try to follow it in everything: in decorating the Christmas tree, tables, rooms. Soviet-style decor does not mean that you can mix everything, thoughtfulness is also important here. Get out the old toys, use more glass, rain and tinsel in moderation will also be appropriate. Walls and doors can be decorated not with traditional Christmas wreaths, but with flag garlands. Figures of skiers and figure skaters will also be relevant. Purchase postcards with their images and hang them on the Christmas tree.
3. Decorate everything in calm colors
This year, calm colors using white, blue, turquoise, green and beige shades are the most relevant, Zulfiya Daeva believes. You can add gold or silver, the main thing is to combine them harmoniously. Choose no more than two or three shades, the expert advises.
According to the Chinese calendar, 2023 will be the Year of the Black Water Rabbit (Photo: shutterstock)
4. Give preference to natural jewelry
The trend towards sustainable lifestyle and smart consumption is now on the wave of popularity. According to designer Zulfiya Daeva, holiday decorations can also be chosen in eco-style: dried fruits, berries, gilded nuts, spruce and mountain ash decorations - all this will be a great addition to the New Year's decor.
Toys made of glass or paper rather than plastic fit well with the eco-style concept (Photo: shutterstock)
5. Make your own toys
DIY toys and decorations will bring comfort to the holiday. Making them is a great option for joint leisure with children on the eve of the New Year. There are many video instructions on the Web for making decor for every taste and for different levels of skill.
The whole family should be involved in the process of making toys. You can make delicious decorations - for example, from gingerbread and lollipops (Photo: shutterstock)
6. More scented candles
Candles create a special atmosphere in any space. You can make a composition out of them or place them on the table. Particular attention should be paid to the aroma: cinnamon, fresh pastries, citruses will definitely set you in a festive mood.
Everyone has their own smell of the New Year: spruce, tangerines, cinnamon - today you can find candles with any scent (Photo: shutterstock)
Anastasia Liverko : “New Year is associated primarily with the smell of pine needles and tangerines. But if, for example, you are used to putting up an artificial Christmas tree or buying a fir that does not have a sharp coniferous smell, then you can use special fragrances for the home. Now in stores there are a lot of different flavors and aroma oils. Decorate the house with candles: the more there are, the more festive the atmosphere. To decorate the New Year's table, you can use candlesticks, now thin and tall are in fashion. And for the composition under the Christmas tree, decorative candles that run on batteries are perfect. They look like real ones and you can not be afraid that you will forget to put them out.
7. Use garlands
Garlands are always relevant for decorating both the Christmas tree and the room as a whole. It is best to place them on windows. Flicker creates a sense of magic and imminent miracle.

Anastasia Liverko : “Now you can use garlands not only to decorate your home for the New Year, but also to create comfort in your apartment every day. I would recommend hanging garlands of a warm palette, they look more festive and create a special atmosphere familiar to us since childhood. This year, it is important to use many different garlands at once: for the Christmas tree, windows, doors, shelves. You can choose not only traditional lights, but also garlands in the form of stars, hearts, houses. Hang them above your bed for even more of a holiday feel. By the way, such garlands will perfectly fit into a minimalist style. And children love them very much, so if you want to decorate the nursery separately, then use them.
8. Give up red
This year, to decorate your home for the holidays, it is better to refrain from aggressive bright shades of red. This rule applies to both decorating the Christmas tree and decorating the room as a whole.

Anastasia Liverko : “Red is not the easiest color. It is important to be able to combine it correctly with others so that your interior does not look aggressive. In fact, it is one of the traditional New Year's flowers. You should not make it the main one, but it is quite possible to use it for the correct placement of accents. A classic Christmas tree can be decorated in blue-green-red-gold tones. You can also buy red candles for the table, red napkins and, of course, buy a red-green poinsettia. It will make your table look great.
9. No tinsel
Better not to use tinsel and rain. They are made of plastic, and this has long been irrelevant, including from an environmental point of view.

Anastasia Liverko : “Tinsel and rain have long gone out of fashion, and besides, they are made of non-environmentally friendly materials. But if you still decide to decorate the interior in retro style, then tinsel and rain will perfectly complement it. For many, they have remained on the mezzanine since the zero years, so feel free to get them.
10. Strive for minimalism
It is important to stop in time so as not to overload the interior with decorations, warns Zulfiya Daeva. This year, to decorate your home for the holidays, it is better to adhere to the principles of minimalism. Even a Christmas tree can be decorated with just one garland.

11. Don't use artificial snow . It is better to refuse such decoration. It is much more appropriate to decorate the house with paper snowflakes - this is a cozy holiday element for families with children.

Anastasia Liverko : “Artificial snow does not always look attractive, and besides, not everyone knows how to spray it beautifully. However, Christmas trees with artificial snow look festive and create a fabulous atmosphere. If you like snow-covered trees, then it is best to immediately buy an artificial fir tree decorated with snow. Firstly, you do not have to spend time on this, and secondly, you can be sure of the safety of the materials used (unless, of course, you purchased a certified product in a chain store). And if you still decide to give the tree a snowy look, it is better to use a flocking spray - with it, the snow will look more voluminous.
Wall Christmas trees
The latest trend is Christmas trees on the wall. The number of options for creating such a decoration is limited only by your imagination. Christmas trees can be made from branches, Christmas decorations, tinsel and garlands, balls and stars, boards and sticks, multi-colored threads and felt, paper and flags. You can place special interior stickers on the wall or paint a Christmas tree with multi-colored paints.

Anastasia Liverko : “Wall-mounted Christmas trees are convenient to use, for example, to decorate a small apartment or a nursery. If your child is very small, then it is too early to put a real tree, but with a wall-mounted Christmas tree, you can easily create a festive atmosphere in his room. Such trees are interesting in that they come in completely different designs: from a Christmas tree in the form of animals to a Christmas tree made of books. They are sold in the form of special wall stickers, and you can also draw such a Christmas tree yourself.

Ecotrend
Instead of a whole live Christmas tree, it is better to decorate the house with garlands of branches and cones. Dried orange slices can be used as Christmas decorations. Pillows, rugs and blankets made of cotton and wool will give additional comfort to such an interior, Zulfiya Daeva believes.

Anastasia Liverko : “The environmental agenda has influenced various aspects of our lives, including bringing its own trends to interior design. Now it is important to use everything natural with care not only for yourself, but also for the environment. You can easily make decorations for the interior yourself. Use cones, twigs, dried flowers, dried fruits and berries for decoration. The coming year according to the Chinese calendar will be the year of the Black Water Rabbit (Cat in Vietnamese), so the owner of the year will be pleased with your good habits. This year, velvet and faux fur details are in fashion. Velvet balls, table napkins, figurines for compositions will look luxurious.”
Balloon decorations
Another unusual way to decorate your apartment for the New Year is balloons. These can be ready-made compositions, special New Year's balls or foil figures, as well as confetti balloons. To create a New Year's mood, use traditional color combinations in your design: for example, red and green, blue and silver, red and gold.

Holiday decorations are more than just a Christmas tree. It's also hundreds of Christmas lights. You can decorate the house with electric garlands by placing them on the windows, wall, ceiling or in the doorway.

An unusual decor is obtained by putting together many different lanterns or candles. Moreover, suitable candlesticks can not only be bought in a store, but also made by hand. Do not forget about Christmas houses and unusual holiday lamps: stars, Christmas trees, Christmas balls.
Handmade jewelry
You will need imagination and a few pairs of skillful hands. Handmade jewelry always looks cozy and homely. For the Christmas tree, you can make toys from cotton wool, natural materials, sew from felt or knit from colored yarn.

Elegant openwork candlesticks are obtained by sticking lace on ordinary glass glasses. A great idea is to decorate window sills by making cardboard houses for this, and draw patterns on the windows or make stained glass windows.
DIY Advent calendar
Advent calendar is used to count the time left until the New Year or Christmas. Most often, it is made in the form of a fabric panel with pockets sewn on it, where surprises are placed. Each pocket represents a day of the month.

Calendars can be made from other materials with minimal investment of time and money - wrap gifts in wrapping paper, draw numbers on them and hang them on the Christmas tree. There are other options that are easy to perform: for example, from disposable cups, matchboxes and tin cans. Such calendars can be decorated with stickers or colored paper and laid out in the form of a tower or a Christmas tree, recommends Zulfiya Daeva.
