READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
- Blades are sharp. Handle with care when removing, installing or cleaning. Use the same care when removing and installing the chopper cutting blade. Always check that there are no cracks or other damage on the accessory case.
- The device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are supervised or instructed in the use of the device by a person responsible for their safety.
- This appliance must not be used by children and care should be taken when used around children.
- Before using the instrument for the first time, remove all packing materials and promotional labels.
- Unplug it when not in use, before removing or putting on parts, and before cleaning. To remove the plug from the socket, grasp the plug and pull it out of the socket. Never pull on the cord.
- To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the motor, cord, or electrical plug in water or other liquids. Only the removable dough hooks, beaters and other specified parts of this appliance are designed to be immersed in water or other liquids. Never immerse other parts of this device in water. If part of the motor has fallen into the liquid, first disconnect the plug from the mains, and then remove it immediately. Do not touch liquid without first unplugging the appliance.
- Use of attachments/accessories not sold or recommended by Braun may cause fire, electric shock, or injury hazard.

- Do not use outdoors or for anything other than intended.
- Keep hands and utensils out of the bowl while mixing to prevent serious injury to persons or damage to the device. A scraper can be used, but should only be used when the machine is not running.
- Before switching on the appliance, make sure that the accessory covers are correctly fitted. Do not attempt to remove the cover until the blade stops rotating.
- Before washing, remove beaters, dough hooks or other attachments from the mixer.
- Make sure that the cord does not hang over the edge of a table or counter. Do not allow the cord to come into contact with hot surfaces, including the stove.
- 85g / 3 oz meat max rating - 15 seconds at max 'turbo' speed is based on the BF 'hc' chopper which uses the most power, other recommended attachments may use significantly less power.
- The “hc” chopper is designed to process small quantities of food for immediate consumption and is especially recommended for preparing baby food. The appliance is not designed to cook large amounts of food at the same time.
- Double knife sharp. Handle with care. Be extremely careful when removing or replacing the knife blade.
- The bowl must be in place before changing the knife blades.
- Do not operate the appliance in a garage or under a wall cabinet.
- When mixing liquids, especially hot ones, use a tall container or
apply small amounts at a time to reduce spillage, splattering and the possibility of injury from burns. - We recommend that you keep all packing materials in case you need to transport the machine in the future. Keep all plastic bags out of the reach of children.

Before Use
Please read the user instructions carefully and completely before using the instrument and keep them for future reference. Remove all packaging and labels and dispose of them properly.

Using the Hand Mixer (A)
Dough Hooks are ideal for kneading yeast dough, pasta dough, baking, and heavy dough for minced meat. Use a whisk to mix cake, biscuit and mashed potato mixes, as well as whipping cream (minimum 3 oz / 100 ml cream), egg whites and cream ingredients.
Refer to Machining Guide A for maximum quantities and recommended speeds.
Assembly and operation
- Position the slider (6a) as shown and insert the dough hooks (7) or beaters (8).
- Place the ingredients in a bowl.
- Depending on the application, select the speed (1…turbo) by turning the speed selector (1). To avoid splashing, always start at low speed and then slowly increase speed as you work.
- Move the switch (3) back and forth to turn the appliance on or off.
- After use, unplug the appliance and remove the dough hooks or beaters by pressing the eject button (2).
Tips for Best Results
- For best results when making cake mixes, etc. All ingredients should be at the same temperature. Butter, eggs, etc. should be taken out of the refrigerator some time before using them.
- Whipped cream has more volume if the cream is well chilled before whipping.
- Mashed potatoes will become creamier if all ingredients are used as hot as possible (eg potatoes immediately after boiling).
Accessory storage bag
Use the storage bag to store beaters and dough hooks.
Recipe Example: cake mix
- 1 cup / 200 g butter or margarine
- 1.5 cups / 200 g sugar
- 1 tbsp. / 7 g vanilla sugar
- 4 eggs
- 4 cups / 500 g plain flour
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tbsp. / 15 g pastry
- 1 cup / 250 ml milk
- Place butter or margarine, sugar and vanilla sugar in a bowl. Start slowly and increase the speed to turbo mix.
- Add eggs and continue mixing until you get a creamy consistency. Start slowly and increase the speed to turbo mix.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and mix on medium to high speed until everything is smooth.
Recipe Example: yeast dough
- 4 cups/500 g plain flour
- ½ tbsp. dried yeast
- 3 tbsp. / 80 g sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 cup / 250 ml warm milk
- 0.5 cup / 100 g butter or margarine
- Add the rest of the ingredients.
- Select a medium speed and knead the dough until smooth.
Chopper Accessory (B)
Chopper Attachment (10) ideal for chopping meat, cheese, onions, herbs, garlic, carrots, walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, etc.
For large quantities and hard food, use the chopper "ca" (10).
For best results when processing tough foods, fill the chopper bowl "ca" (10) with max. 10.5oz / 300g. Not suitable for liquids.
Refer to Machining Guide B for maximum quantities and recommended speeds.
Before use
- When chopping cooked food, let it cool for a few minutes before placing it in the chopper bowl.
- Pre-cut meat, cheese, onions, garlic, carrots, remove green stems, unshelled nuts and remove bones, tendons and cartilage from meat.
- Always check that the anti-slip ring (10d) is attached to the bowl.
Assembly and operation
- Carefully remove the plastic cover from the blade (10b). The blade is very sharp! Always hold it by the top plastic part.
- Install the blade on the center pin of the chopper bowl. Click on it and rotate it to lock it into place.
- Fill the chopper with food and close the lid (10a).
- Install the slider (6a) as shown in the figure and insert the chopper cover pin into it so that the mark on the chopper cover matches the mark on the engine part. Then turn the motor part 90° clockwise until fixed.
- Slide the on/off switch forward and hold it in the on position while you use your grinder.
- Turn off the appliance by releasing the on/off switch and remove the plug from the socket before proceeding with disassembly.
- To remove the motor part, hold the chopper with one hand, rotate the motor part 90° counterclockwise and remove it.
- Slightly twist the blade, remove it, then remove it before removing processed food from the chopper bowl.
Warning
- Do not grind very hard foods such as ice cubes, nutmeg, coffee beans or grains.
Care and cleaning (C)
- Always clean the mixer and related accessories thoroughly before first use and after each use with detergent and water.
- Unplug the appliance before cleaning.
- Clean the motor part (4) with a cloth only. Do not submerge it in water or keep it under running water.
- The chopper cover (10a) can only be washed under running water. Do not submerge them in water.
- Accessory bag can be washed at max. 30 degrees. Wash separately or with clothes of the same color.
- All other parts are dishwasher safe. Do not use abrasive cleaners that may scratch the surface.
- Processing products with a high pigment content (eg carrots) may discolour the accessories.
Wipe these parts with vegetable oil before cleaning.
