The LED indicator will turn yellow after 5 months of operation to warn that it's almost time to change the filter. When the indicator light turns red (one month later), it’s time to change the main filter.

I thought I knew air purifiers. Those hulking boxes crammed into the corners of living rooms. The giant cylindrical tubes balanced on bedroom nightstands. They're not exactly covert machines. They demand more square footage than a fidgety two-year-old. And because by very nature what they purify is invisible to our human eyeballs, it was easy to keeping putting off the actual purchase of one. Abstractly, I acknowledged they were a "good" thing to own. But it's not like I could see particles floating through the air, so what was the big rush, you know?

But air is fickle. It's full of pollen (trees, man). Dust and pet dander (made you sneeze). Smoke (as the red sun and hazy skies reminded the East Coast a few weeks ago). So it's well worth buying an air purifier to breathe easier. And an air purifier that also cools said air? For me, a double whammy.

The covert control panel sets the fan speed and lets you know when to swap the filter.

Getting a machine like this makes a whole lot of sense.

A fan that doubles as an air purifier. An air purifier that doubles as a fan. With Blueair's Pure Fan or Pure Fan Auto (the latter has a few more features for a bit more money; it's the model photographed here), that's one less household appliance to hog up floor space. And I would know, being the inhabiter of a room featuring very little of it. For another, while a purifier is aces for filtering airborne yuck out of a room, it does not cut through humidity, nor does it prevent the space from feeling or smelling stuffy. A fan helps on both fronts. The two-in-one philosophy, while generally frowned upon in hair cleansing rituals and alcoholic energy drinks, is a knock-out as far as Blueair's device is concerned.

This Energy-Star-rated purifier’s filter catches 99 percent of particles down to .1 microns in size, which is an overly metric way of saying you don't need to worry about a damn thing.

It's subtly high-tech.

There's more than philosophy at play here, of course. Blueair, a big player in the purifying field (very cool), uses what it has named HEPASilent technology, which it says kills bacteria and viruses (very topical), as well as filters out the same airborne allergens and smoke that standard HEPA filters catch. And it isn't kidding about "silent"—you can hardly hear the Pure Fan Auto on its lowest setting. But you can feel it, that brush of cool air cutting through the heaviest, muggiest air, redistributed by the Pure Fan once it has been filtered. Prime sleeping conditions, you could say.

It doesn't look like an air purifier.

Though the Pure Fan Auto is likely off-putting to anyone experiencing trypophobia, I get a kick out of its design. Is it inspired by 1950s air travel? Is it celebrating new-wave psychedelic chaos? Is it extremely Sweden? Who cares! It adds a heap of character to a room, even more so if you opt to buy one of Blueair's colorful filters when the time comes for a replacement, which are indeed inspired by Scandinavian nature. As for the handle (very convenient)? I can't complain.

Blueair Blue Pure 411 review for people who don't mind reading reviews: one small box with a button on top could be all you need in an air purifier.

While not the world's best air purifier, the Blueair Blue Pure 411 from the people who brought you the Ditching Award-winning Blueair Classic 480i is probably the easiest and least intrusive. For small rooms or just to be carried from room to room, this is very light is great.

The

Blue Pure 411 is on the opposite end of the spectrum from the huge and industrial Classic 480i. Made in Scandinavia, it has a distinct IKEA vibe - including feeling rather cheap and flimsy, which of course is the negative side of being light and colorful.

However, the Blueair Blue Pure 411 does the job if you don't make it difficult. More importantly, it's done in such a way that you don't contribute almost anything. Just put it off and forget.

Blueair Classic 480i Review: Price and Availability

The Blue Pure 411 is a very reasonable £130 / $120 / AU$250 price tag. Why is it so much cheaper in the US than in the UK? I dont know. But everywhere a good price, even in "predatory Britain".

Replacement filters are also cheap - £20, $20 or AU$50. This is good news since you have to replace them every six months.

Blueair Blue Pure 411: design

A compact cylinder made of colorful plastic, the Blue Pure 411 is beautiful and simple. It is only 42.5 cm high and 20 cm in diameter. This is one of the simplest and most compact air purifiers you can get.

The controls are also quite simple. They are as follows: one button on the top that you press to switch the Blue Pure 411 between three power settings. That's all. No apps, no displays, no blinking lights other than a red one that tells you when to change the filter. As the Swedes say, it's very lag . Or do I mean hyyge ? I speak simply and minimalistically.

What else can I say about Blue Pure 411? Changing the filter is a simple matter, which is a good thing as you will be doing it at least a couple of times a year. The filter is a three-layer filter with an external filter to capture large particles and dust, a fine HEPA filter to remove particles and allergens, and a carbon filter to remove vapors.

As far as I can tell, the filter change warning is based on elapsed time, not how saturated it is with allergens, particles, and smoke, so it's probably wise to keep an eye on it if you're using it in a more polluted area.

It is compact and very light, weighing only 1.5 kg, making it easy to carry around. Placing it in kids' rooms seems like an obvious use for the Blue Pure 411, but I'm really worried that it might not survive a crash in the long run unless your kids are particularly well behaved or you make it unavailable.

I don't have much to say about the design of the Blueair Blue Pure 411, so let's continue.

Blueair Blue Pure 411 review: tuning

Not much to say here either. The Blue Pure 411 comes pre-installed with a filter, so you just plug it in and you're done. You can press the button at the top to get extra excitation noise if you like.

The Blue Pure 411 is very quiet at its standard speed setting, which is another big plus. It's somewhat noisier at full power, but I think overall you're unlikely to ever use it unless there's some terrible air pollution incident.

Buy another air purifier if you're going to. Or, you know, turn on a kitchen exhaust fan that does just that job.

Blue Pure 411 is great for bedrooms, hallways, front rooms, living rooms and other areas where you don't start a fire. The maximum room size recommended by Blueair is 15m², which is naturally a small size.

What I love about the Blue Pure 411 is that it doesn't have data readers to fuss about or make you feel (even more) paranoid about air quality. Simply unobtrusively cleans the air 5 times per hour.

I used it in rooms with a Dyson purifier set to air quality control only and Blue Pure 411 clearly maintained good air quality. I tried this in the kitchen while making burgers and it didn't work, but it's fair enough. Blueair clearly says it is for "light gases" only.

Blueair Blue Pure 411 Review: Verdict

There's nothing to complain about with the Blue Pure 411. It's small, light, pretty stylish, and purifies your air. If you're looking to remove industrial grade contaminants, this is obviously not for you, but for maintaining less polluted and smaller spaces, it's great. Low noise, no fuss.

Blue Pure 211+ Auto

The air purifier has a pre-filter and a HEPA Silent™ main filter to purify the air. It has control functions and a built-in sensor.
Air purifier mainly consists of motor, fan and filters. An air purifier removes pollution from indoor air to improve indoor air quality. You can change the air purifier settings at any time using the control panel on the air purifier.

Safety Instructions

Blue Pure 211+ Auto Air Purifier is an electrical appliance for indoor use only, take the necessary precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury.

Start

Step 1
Plug the power cord into a wall outlet.

Step 2
Press the button to turn on the air purifier and adjust the fan speed mode. On/Off and fan speed control

Available settings: Auto, Night, Everyday, Boost and Off.
The indicator on the touch button shows the selected fan speed. The light will automatically turn off completely 5 seconds after the touch button is pressed, indicating that the fan speed control mode is disabled. Press the touch button once to enable/disable fan speed control again. The indicator will light up and you can set the fan speed mode again.
Auto start
The auto start feature automatically restarts the air purifier at the last set speed if it was unplugged, used with a power switch timer, or if a power failure occurs.
Automatic mode
In automatic mode, the air purifier automatically adjusts the airflow based on air quality information from the sensor.

On / Automatic Press once to turn on the device and set it to automatic mode.
Night mode Press twice to switch to night mode (low fan speed). All indicators on the device will turn off after 5 seconds.
Daily mode Press three times to switch to everyday mode (medium fan speed).
Boost mode Press four times to enter Boost mode (high fan speed).
by Press five times to turn off the device.

Air quality information
Air quality levels for particulate matter (PM) are indicated using a color bar on the air quality indicator. In night mode, the air quality indicator will dim completely.
PM2.5 particulate matter, particles 2.5 micrometers in diameter or less.

Filters

The air purifier comes with a fabric pre-filter and a main filter. Filters purify the air from both particles and gases. For best results, clean the pre-filter regularly and replace the main filter when the air purifier tells you to change the filter.

Button control functions

Change filter
When the indicator turns red (after 6 months of operation), the main filter must be replaced.

Clean and replace the pre-filter
For best results, clean the pre-filter regularly. Vacuum the outside of the fabric pre-filter with a soft brush attachment to remove dust. If the pre-filter requires deeper cleaning, wash it in the washing machine according to the instructions on the pre-filter label.
Important! Squeeze the Velcro strips on the pre-filter before machine washing.

Step 1
Turn off the device and unplug it.

Step 2
Gently press the buttons on both sides of the device at the same time.

Step 3
Remove the top from the block.

Step 4
Open the pre-filter panel and remove the pre-filter.

Step 5
Wash the pre-filter in the washing machine according to the instructions on the pre-filter label.

Step 6
Reinstall the pre-filter on the unit. Adjust the pre-filter and panel to hide the power cord at the back.

Step 7
Place the top back on the device and press until you hear a click.

Step 8
Connect the module.
Replace main filter

When replacing the filter, vacuum any dust that may have accumulated inside the unit.
Important! Use only genuine Blueair filters that are compatible with this model to ensure proper operation and performance of the air purifier and to obtain a full warranty.

When the light is red, it's time to change the main filter.
Step 2
Turn off the device and unplug it.
Step 3
Gently press the buttons on both sides of the device at the same time.

Remove the top from the block.
Step 5
Remove the old main filter from the unit. Unfold the new main filter and insert into the device.
Step 6
Place the top on the bottom of the device. Press the top firmly against the metal frame of the filter until it clicks into place.

Step 7
Connect the module.
Step 8
Press the touch button for 7 seconds to reset the filter change timer. This will let the air purifier know that you have installed the filter. The indicator flashes for 4 seconds and then
changes from red to white.

Cleaning

Clean the air quality sensor.
The air quality sensor inlet is located at the rear of the air cleaner.
Important! Do not use fingers or any unwanted objects to clean inside the sensor inlet.

Gently press the buttons on both sides of the device at the same time.

Remove the top from

Press the button on the device. inside the device to drive the cover covering the sensor and remove the cover.

Using a circular motion, gently clean the sensor with a cotton swab and close the sensor cover.
Step 6
Place the top on the bottom of the device. Press the top firmly against the metal frame of the filter until it clicks into place.

Step 7
Connect the module.

This air purifier should be disposed of or recycled as electrical waste, and the filter can be recycled as plastic.
