Black Friday CPU Deals in the US

Intel Core i5- 12600K 12th Gen CPU | $299 $269.99 at Best Buy
Save $30 - In our opinion, this is the best CPU for gaming on the market at the moment because it's half the price of the previous high-end Intel processors, and still out performs the majority of the Ryzen 5000 line and 11th gen i9 CPUs. This deal might not offer you the biggest saving, but you're still getting our top pick for a little less money.

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X CPU | $309 $159 at Amazon
Save $150 - In our books, this is the best value Ryzen CPU for gaming you can get a hold of. While the CPU itself here is usually competitively priced and holds its own against 11th-gen i5 CPUs, this deal is particularly amazing because this is the lowest price we've ever seen it at on Amazon. A great value CPU for even less? Sign us up.

AMD Ryzen 7 5700G CPU | $359 $178.61 at Amazon
Save $180  -
This is a fantastic price on the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G. This 8-core, 16-thread processor has a speed of 4.6 GHz, and with this 50% discount means it's only a few cents off its lowest ever price.

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 4th Gen CPU | $549 $399 at Best Buy
Save $150 - If you want unparalleled single-core performance, and a total powerhouse for the latest, most hardware-intensive games, you can't get much better than this. This is a pretty substantial price cut for such a high-end CPU, too - even if it's not quite as low as it has been in the past.

Intel Core i9-12900K 12th Gen CPU | $619.99 $499.99 at Best Buy
Save $120 - If you're looking for a higher-end CPU deal, this is a great one. This is much cheaper than we've seen the same CPU go for on the likes of Amazon, so you know you're getting a good deal. In terms of performance, this CPU outpaces the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X and has a base clock speed of 3.2Ghz.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X | $449 $229 at Amazon
Save $220 - One of our favourite gaming CPUs is at a record-low price. If that's not enough, you can even get a deal on Uncharted alongside it. Throw in the fact that its eight cores make it an FPS game powerhouse, it’s no wonder this one is flying off the virtual shelves.

Black Friday CPU Deals in the UK

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection | £274.98 £167.95 at Box
Save £106 - This is our current pick for best value Ryzen CPU. While the product itself holds its own against 11th-gen i5 CPUs, this deal is particularly great because you save over £100 on a processor that's already priced competitively.

Intel Core i7-12700K CPU | Free Arctic MX-4 Enthusiast Thermal Paste | £399.98 £384 at Scan
Save £15 - It isn't the biggest saving in the world, but here you're getting one of our favourite high-end CPUs a little cheaper, while also getting some free thermal paste thrown in which will make your installation just a little easier.

Intel Core i9 13900K CPU | £688.99 £649.98 at Scan
Save £39 - This deal is proving to be one of Scan's most popular on CPUs, and we haven't even reached the big day yet. The original price isn't displayed on the site, though it typically retails for £688.99, so there's a solid saving to be made.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X AM4 CPU | £489.99 £244.98 at ebuyer
Save £245 - Considering that one of our favourite CPU deals from Black Friday last year saw this reduced by $80 in the US, we think this is a pretty great way to kick off sales this year. A saving of £245 is not something to turn your nose up at, and this processor isn't either. With 8 cores and a reputation for powering through FPS games, this is a solid gaming CPU.

Black Friday CPU deals: FAQS

When will the Black Friday CPU deals start?

Black Friday is happening on November 25th this year. However, as we've seen in recent years, it's likely that the deals will actually begin earlier in the week and are likely to extend into Cyber Monday on the 28th.

Is it worth waiting for Black Friday to buy a new CPU?

Black Friday CPU deals tend to be a lower price than what is available at other times of the year. According to the Adobe holiday shopping report, computers and their components experience up to a 30% dip in price around Black Friday.

If you're specifically targeting the 11th generation Intel Core or AMD Ryzen 5000 series processors, then we wouldn't suggest waiting for any deep discounts on those chipsets this year. However, if your sights are firmly aimed at last generation models, then you're much more likely to save on 9th and 10th generation Intel and AMD Ryzen 3000 line; which is still more than enough for gaming.

Where will the best Black Friday CPU deals be?

In all honesty, it's fairly even in regards to where you'll be able to find the best Black Friday CPU deals. Taking past years into consideration, we saw some of the deepest discounts come from Amazon and Newegg above the majority of other retailers, so we recommend keeping a close watch on these two online storefronts in particular. Also keep an eye on Best Buy and other big-box stores, as they've been keeping up recently as well.

US:

Amazon: The biggest selection of current and previous generation chipsets
Best Buy: Regular discounts on AMD Ryzen 5000 series and Intel CPUs
Newegg: Deep discounts on must-have Ryzen models and 10th gen Intel
Walmart: Average prices with few discounts available right now

UK:

Amazon: Low prices on well-reviewed Intel and AMD Ryzen CPUs
eBuyer: Massive savings available on high AMD Ryzen chipsets
Currys: Good offers on the latest Ryzen processors
Laptops Direct: Minor but consistent deals on 9th, 10th, and 11th gen Intel

Black Friday CPU deals: What to expect

Black Friday CPU deals are at their cheapest, and most tempting when looking back at the previous generations of chipsets. For instance, last year Newegg was offering the Intel Core i9-9900k for $320 (down from $400) for a total saving of $80 on a still exceptional CPU. One of our favorite CPUs for gaming, the Intel Core i7-9700k enjoyed a minor discount in 2020, where it was reduced to $260 down from $300.

While the savings on processors may not be as extensive as with other tech items, you can still make the most out of the deals this Black Friday to make a new PC build cheaper than it otherwise would be at other times in the year. The Ryzen 5000 series dropped back in October 2020, so we wouldn't be surprised if popular chipsets, including the 5600x and 5800x, saw reductions this year.

Luckily, sales over the course of this year have seen discounts on a wide range of processors. Some newer models have only had a few tens of dollars off, whereas older models are seeing discounts of up to 50%.

This makes us excited for this year's deals, with our fingers crossed for larger discounts on the more recent options.

Intel Core i7-11700K | £409 £321 at Amazon
Save £88 - Compatible with the most popular LGA 1200 motherboards, this i7 processor isn't the newest range, but it's great for gaming at any resolution - and at a decent price.

Intel Core i9-11900K | £519 £455 at Amazon
Although it's recently been replaced as the most powerful Intel chip on the market, this is still a fantastic CPU and much cheaper than the newer i9-12900K.

Today's best CPU Deals

Our price comparison technology is working day and night to bring you some of the best deals on our favorite CPUs for gaming this side of Black Friday.

We personally recommend the AMD Ryzen 5 5600x for its high performance and low price tag, as well as the more high-end AMD Ryzen 9 5900x for its futureproof potential and prowess outside of gaming, too. That's not to leave Intel out, Intel Core i5-11600K is an affordable beast for modern demanding games, though the cheaper 8-core Intel Core i7-9700K more than holds its own as well.

Ever since playing Journey at the age of 15, I’ve been desperate to cover video games for a living. After graduating from Edinburgh Napier University with a degree in Journalism, I contributed to the Scottish Games Network and completed an Editorial Internship over at Expert Reviews. Besides that, I’ve been managing my own YouTube channel and Podcast for the last 7 years. It’s been a long road, but all that experience somehow landed me a dream job covering gaming hardware. I’m a self-confessing PlayStation fanboy, but my experience covering the larger business and developer side of the whole industry has given me a strong knowledge of all platforms. When I’m not testing out every peripheral I can get my hands on, I’m probably either playing tennis or dissecting game design for an upcoming video essay. Now, I better stop myself here before I get talking about my favourite games like HUNT: Showdown, Dishonored, and Towerfall Ascension.

Best PC Component Offers Black Friday 2018 Predictions

We've been watching Black Friday for quite some time that we can come up with some decent predictions for Black Friday 2018, and given what the component market looks like these days We think we have a good guess about the deals you'll see this year. nine0004

Video card sale will be the name of the game this year. Last year, the cryptocurrency craze drove up prices and boosted GPU production last year, but that bubble finally popped up earlier this year.

This leaves a lot of old graphics cards left in circulation and retailers will likely want to clear their shelves of old stock like the GTX 1080, GTX 1080 Ti, GTX 1070, or GTX 1060. We think this is very likely given Nvidia Ti's newest RTV 2080, the RTX 2080 and RTX 2070 are now out in the wild. nine0004

There's also a small chance that Black Friday 2018 will result in some of Nvidia's first Turing card discounts, but the possibility of that happening this year is very slim.

We also expect 9th generation processors to be released on processor Black Friday on processors on Friday. Meanwhile, AMD is set to launch its next-gen processors at CES 2019, and immediately dropped the price of the Ryzen 7 2700X.

Previous Black Fridays have also led to lower prices for other components such as motherboards, RAM, hard drives, SSDs, hard drives and PC cases. We expect Black Friday 2018 to be no different. nine0004

Best Black Friday (19459005)

Don't expect to see big price cuts on the standard MacBook

If last year's Black Friday MacBook Pro was anything to go by, you could make some big savings on the top models in Apple's MacBook Pro this year, especially if you're willing to make do with the older model. On smaller laptops, this can be a problem, but even the old MacBook Pro is ludicrously strong compared to the average laptop, so it's worth spending a punt on it.

The overflowing downside to the older Air is that it's the least powerful MacBook you can get, and it's not even the thinnest or lightest. However, if you just need to have this MacBook but are on a budget, this is the obvious choice. nine0004

Typically, MacBook Pros feature higher-rpm processors than the vanilla model, and the 15-inch MacBook Pro has quad-core processors rather than dual-core ones. nine0004

The lower-end MacBooks - the Air and the 13-inch MacBook Pro - give you a 128GB SSD, which probably means you'll need to invest in some sort of external storage. All other MacBook models are equipped with a 256 GB SSD; remember that if you're working with large files, you'll probably run this through quickly.
