‘People are often reserved about using dark colors in their homes but they really shouldn’t be. Bold, dark shades have an incredible power and are able to transform any room injecting character into it. A good way to start introducing a darker shade in your home is to decorate one of the smaller rooms, that are used for shorter period of time, like a hallway, bathroom or bedroom.’

Before starting work on the interior of the bedroom in the three-story townhouse, the designer met with the owners just once to ask about their tastes; the customer wanted to see light walls and a high headboard in the bedroom, and the customer just asked to do without wallpaper. Denis Furmanov By the beginning of work in the bedroom, a partition behind the headboard for the dressing room had already been erected, but Denis suggested resolving the issue of organizing the space in a different way. The photo shows the design of the renovated bedroom according to Furmanov: the wall was demolished, and in its place a niche for a bed with side cabinets appeared, and both the “male” and “female” storage systems have a width of 87 cm. The panels were finished with veneer with a layout in the form of envelopes, and framed watercolors appeared on the sides of the portal - these are sketches of Oscar de la Renta outfits, which were drawn by Ksenia Batagova. The girls from Cucumbers approached this task responsibly and found expensive Kravet fabrics in the remnants of their partners "Kado", which happens very rarely. Many pillows were cut from Schumacher fabric samples, and strips of the same material used to trim the pillows were cut into the drapes. Such an insignificant detail is very important, it emphasizes that the textiles are made to order, and not accidentally bought in a store,” the author of the project shared. He “made friends” with the stripes on the wall, and the sconces with a complex double shade gave an amazing play of shadows. A table lamp with graphic stripes gave lightness to major furniture.

A cozy bedroom of 14 meters, the design of which we will show you, appeared as part of a television project that became a great test for the designer. Without serious recommendations and an impressive portfolio, it is very difficult to get on the screen. But sometimes there are exceptions, as happened with Denis Furmanov. Vladislav Makhimovich, a partner in the supply of antique fireplaces, proposed his candidacy to replace the designer (who unexpectedly abandoned the project). Denis decided: "Why not," and took up the project.
