Have you ever thought about adding an old window and shutters to your mantel with a fabulous fall wreath?
This is a perfect “faux mantel” if your home doesn’t have a fireplace or hearth.
A floating shelf creates the same effect, and the shutters and window make a small space feel as though it has an extra window.
The natural elements in the wreath and other decorations go beautifully with the brick and the bright pop of green in the shutters is a real eye-catcher (and repeated in the other elements). Note the feathers in the pewter cup!
{ Dimples and Tangles }
Fall is about enjoying the changes and giving thanks.

The lettering on the sign is beautifully done and a great combination of fonts!
The bird adds so much whimsy to the mantel scape and the simple wreath looks great next to the mini pumpkins and gourds.
Notice how the bell shape in the filigree on the mantel is repeated in the shape on the sign above. This creates a great cohesive look.

The rest of the pallet is quite neutral but simple and elegant.
{ The LilyPad Cottage }
Think about other aspects of fall, such as apples and grains of wheat!
If you don’t have a fireplace, you can do a faux mantel with a chalkboard fire below!
I love love love this idea and if you’ll notice, it’s even accented by the wall art of the chair silhouette in black. The sign and other elements are simple, but festive and sweet.
{ Just Destiny }
Fall really does help us sit down and be grateful for what we have.
That “Count Your Blessings” sign is perfect on the pallet backdrop.
Think outside the box and hang wreaths in other places too! Again, it’s fun to see a cute silver owl in this simple, happy design.
{ The Frugal Homemaker.com }
The whitewash pallet backdrop is perfect for the burlap banner and the sweet painting of the pumpkin.
This arrangement is so simple, but yet it works great for the whole autumn season.
The apples, the pumpkin, and the pine cones keep the theme of fall going.
{ The Turquoise Home }
Harvest time is during the fall season, so why not make decorate those letters to add the fall element to your mantel!
These simple woodcut letters can be found at many craft stores and adding paint, or paper can turn them into a fabulous design element.
You can use these letters for parties, tablescapes, and all sorts of other applications.

With the ever-changing hues outside, why not decorate the oven with gifts from nature! Leaves, pine cones, straw, dry corn, and even the fresh scents of cinnamon and cloves bring warmth to your fireplace.
Mirrors and framed paintings can also highlight autumn themes. Try to distribute the color scheme throughout the hearth. Choose two or three tones that match with autumn.

Deciding on the height and character of the décor:
Depending on the size and style, do your best to keep the elements in proportion and scale to the rest of the composition. Choose vases, mirrors and containers that complement each other.
Consider combining uneven groups, such as three or five, which will look more natural. Use an autumn garland, flower vases and miniature pumpkins.
The latter attract organic elements in an empty fireplace in an unusual way. If you want to group candles of different sizes, combine them by color, height, or apply additional shades to make the original interior decoration whole.
Fall can be unconventional and intertwined with the colors of the season.

Do-it-yourself autumn home decor. DIY autumn decor for home
Children's herbarium is far from the only way to use the most beautiful leaves from the park, which reach the peak of their decorativeness in autumn. If you already know how to harvest colorful leaves, then you can make a huge number of do-it-yourself autumn decor items for the home, starting from wreaths, by analogy with DIY New Year's wreaths on the door, and ending with chandeliers, garlands and candlesticks.
The photo shows only a small part of the ideas in this direction. For example, you can make wall decorations, for this, whole leaves of a bright color are selected, gently dried with heat so that the color is preserved, and then carefully glued to the transparent glass of the photo frame. As a result, you get a real triptych on the wall, which is not ashamed to decorate any interior.
Garlands also look beautiful, for which multi-colored leaves, spices, dried citrus slices are used and all this is complemented by buttons from old beads.
And one more interesting craft - a garland that is hung on the door frame from the outside. It is also advisable to use dried natural leaves for her, but do not try to string them with a needle, as after drying they will have a very fragile structure.
It is better to stick them with quality glue to a ribbon or string, fasten them so that the garland is exposed to the wind as little as possible, which can quickly make it unusable. You can complement this door decor with a real broom, which looks most appropriate in the autumn decor.
Let's look at a small example of making autumn decor with your own hands, a master class on which you can see above. This wreath is just inspired by the theme of New Year's wreaths on the door with our own hands, it is made according to the same principle, only instead of needles, cones and other elements that we strongly associate with winter holidays, we will use bright red leaves and berries.
Do the workpiece for crafts in the usual way - look for a suitable base (in our case, this is a ready-made foam base, but you can use wire with foam rubber, old hoops, etc.), decorate it with a ribbon of a suitable shade. Then, armed with a glue gun, fix the leaves in several layers on one third of the circle or /, depending on the amount of material, on half of it.
Be sure to use additional accents, such as sprigs of rowan berries, wild rose, hawthorn, in a word, any berries of red shades. Do not forget to also make a hidden or hinged loop so that the wreath can be fixed on the surface of the door leaf.
DIY autumn decorations. Do-it-yourself autumn interior decor
Autumn. Time to enjoy nature - on the street and at home. Autumn leaves surprise with their colors and bring warmth and comfort to the interior. What kind of crafts can be made from leaves to decorate the house? We have a lot of great ideas! Do-it-yourself autumn crafts made from leaves, acorns, cones, rowan and wild rose berries, dried flowers will decorate your interior. 9Ol000 from maple branches
Even the branches are ideal for decorating the interior with your own hands. The beauty of autumn decor is that it does not require much time or money, but the result exceeds all expectations - look at the photos that we have selected for you.
Autumn table decor
Decorative branches for a floor vase
Branch and maple leaf wreath on the door
Beautiful autumn leaves decoration and colorful vases
Here is another interesting idea: crafts made from dry ears of wheat, which you can buy at any art supply store. Beautiful and practical. Delicate lush ears are suitable for placing accents throughout the house: hang a wreath on the door, bouquets on the bedside tables, decorated napkins on the dining table.
Dinner napkins decorated with wheat ears
Wreath of wheat ears
Bouquets of wheat
Or maybe you want to weave a wreath of leaves with your own hands? We have prepared a tutorial for you:
How to make your own autumn leaf wreath
You will need:
- vine or maple leaves
- floral wire approx. 60 cm long
- cutting pliers
And this is how easy it is:
1. Pierce the leaves (20-30 pieces) in the middle and thread them onto the wire.
2. Bend the wire and shape the craft into a wreath.

Decorating the room “Do-it-yourself autumn decor”
Goal : To contribute to the expansion of knowledge about the characteristic features of this season, to develop interest in natural phenomena, to consolidate and expand knowledge about the gifts of autumn , cultivate love for the nature of the native land.
It is a rainy autumn outside the window, and my heart is somehow cloudy and sad. You need to create a warm and cozy atmosphere, then autumn will sparkle with other colors!
Do-it-yourself autumn decor will help us transform our center with the help of simple and very effective gizmos, and the resulting autumn mood will surely allow us to easily survive the autumn blues and enjoy this melancholy season.
We really like to please our pupils with vivid impressions. We have decorations for every season. So now for the fall we decided to do something new.
Autumn is associated primarily with leaf fall and the transformation of nature, but let's not forget that this is the harvest time, the most generous and well-fed season. That is why since ancient times it was with the harvest, vegetables and fruits that interior decorations were associated. We made all the design elements together with the children from colored office paper, used woolen threads to tie garlands and our own imagination and imagination, and, of course, a good mood.
Autumn decorates the park
Colorful leaves.
Autumn feeds the harvest
Birds, animals and you and me.
And in the gardens, and in the garden,
And in the forest, and by the water
Nature has prepared
All kinds of fruits.
The first thing that appeared on the side of the window was a home cellar with pickles and jams.
The children approached this matter responsibly, having done their work excellently.
Soon the plot of the application on the theme "Stocks of the hedgehog" appeared on the window.
The harvest of bright and appetizing pumpkins, juicy apples and pears, and ripe grapes has already been harvested.
The children came up with a common name for the composition "Autumn Pantry".
In addition to our composition, we came up with the idea of decorating a window on a flight of stairs. All guests of our center are met by Mrs. Autumn herself.
Autumn peeped into my window, reached out sweetly and arrogantly.
She stretched out her hand-branch with a smile and enchanted with her singing.
About autumn rains with sadness, about the subdued rustle of leaf fall,
About colorful bright pictures on the edge of a thoughtful garden.
The children cut out autumn leaves on their own according to the templates and circled them with a colored marker.
In the course of the work, the children asked a lot of questions, reasoned and made their own conclusions, mastered new techniques of manual labor, there is a formation of confidence in their strengths and abilities, the creation of a friendly children's team.
