Introducing the new, expanded and improved Dulux CP5 tinting fan. It was created at the AkzoNobel International Center for Aesthetics with the participation of leading designers. Here is an effective tool to inspire confident color choices.

What's new?

Veer spoke Russian. On its first pages - instructions for searching and easy selection of colors.
Expanded color gamut, now 2079 in the paletteshades. The most popular and best-selling colors of the previous version have been retained.
More light and pure colors, expanded neutral palette, experiencing a steady increase in demand.

How to read tinting?

The color in the tinting number is set by three parameters: hue, light reflectance coefficient (CRC) and saturation. For example:

Hue

Indicates a color family. There are eight of them in a fan:

RR - Red to Fuchsia
RB - Fuchsia to Lilac
BB - Lilac to Blue
BG - Blue to Turquoise (★New!)
GG - Turquoise to Green
GY - Green to Yellow (★New) !)
YY - yellow to orange
YR - orange to red

Light reflectance coefficient (CBR)

Distinguishes colors by lightness in the range from 0 to 99. The higher the CBR value, the lighter the color. The colors on the sheets are presented from top to bottom with a decrease in CBS - from light to dark. With the help of CBS, it is easy to apply the Basic Color Rule.

Saturation

Color intensity varies from 000 for neutral grays to 999 for the brightest. The Dulux fan is made up of psychologically comfortable colors that we live and work in, so their intensity rarely exceeds 600. they were not suppressed. This makes them easier to compare and choose.

Neutrals - Late

Available in a wide range of neutral tones, from natural earthy to light cool. To make it easier to choose, the shades are grouped by tone. You can safely combine two closely spaced shades. nine0003

Gloss indicator

Color perception is affected by the gloss level of the finish. We've added a page to the fan that shows the six most popular gloss levels in one color:

Tip. The perception of the degree of gloss and color is influenced by the degree of illumination of the surface, the light source, the texture of the surface and even the size of the room. The best way to take into account all these factors is to make trial colors in the future interior. nine0003

How to find a color by tinting number?

There is a pointer at the end of the fan. The colors in it are arranged in increasing numbers and in the English alphabet, from 00BB to 99YY. Sheet numbers are located at the top left.

Basic color selection rule

Focus on reflectance CBS:

For ceilings: 80–90
For walls: 40–60
For doors and interior parts: 25–40
Use the darkest colors (00-20) for small accents and rebuffs. nine0010

Of course, this is not a dogma. Someone may also need absolutely black walls (KOS = 00), for example, for a home theater.

How to combine colors?

Adopt four simple and win-win schemes:

Monochrome scheme

The easiest way to combine colors is shades of the same color. Two colors from one sheet of the fan are guaranteed to be combined with each other. This makes it possible to create a harmonious, peaceful, balanced atmosphere. Smooth transitions of tones of the same color emphasize sophistication and elegance of the interior. nine0003

Analog circuit

and green. This option opens up wide possibilities for nuance. The color space is balanced and calm. You need to choose two shades from adjacent sections of the fan.

Contrast Scheme

This color scheme features a vibrant combination of warm colors with cold ones. Unroll the fan in a circle and select two sheets roughly opposite each other. If the contrast does not seem sufficient, take one of the shades lighter, the second one is darker. nine0003

Neutral scheme

Neutral colors do not get bored, and therefore are always relevant. All colors from this section of the fan are combined with each other. The same can be said about each pair of colors from the white section. Any bright colors of accessories will perfectly fit into the interior of neutral colors as accents.

When combining light colors, do not use adjacent shades on the sheet, choose them through one. The color on a large area will look more intense than on a small sample. Having decided on the combination on the fan, for tinting, take colors a tone or two lighter than the chosen ones, especially if they are bright or dark colors. nine0003
