26 Country Kitchen Ideas To Fall In Love With
Neptune
In creating a country-inspired home, the country kitchen is arguably the most important element. And whilst architectural details - high ceilings, wooden beams, and draughty windows with an expansive view out over the countryside - certainly help, they are in no way essential to creating your dream country kitchen.
There are a few hard and fast rules to a country design scheme, such as using shaker cabinets, employing natural materials wherever possible, and displaying piles of crockery and table linen, but country style can run the gamut from modern rustic and traditional, to quaint and cottagecore.
Read on for our round-up of the best country kitchen ideas to fall in love with...

Refresh and revive your country kitchen with uplifting hues of green. This kitchen from Neptune combines timber ceiling panels with soft sage green walls and cabinets. And it's the most beautiful space. We love the little arched window above the sink to peer out of when washing the dishes.

Country kitchens ideas: the kitchen island
A country kitchen is the heart of the home, where family can gather to eat, entertain, and spend time together. A spacious island is perhaps one of the best ways to bring everyone together. It's the focal point of any kitchen and enables meals to be tested, children to do homework, and conversations to be had — all in one lovely central space.

Country kitchens ideas: Striking wooden features
High ceilings and expansive walls are a gift when creating a country kitchen, and the addition here of interesting wooden beams gives the feeling of a converted barn. Country kitchens ideas: Small kitchens
A country kitchen doesn't have to be expansive with high ceilings and wooden beams. A quaint galley kitchen can have all the hallmarks of a country home, if you embrace shaker cabinets, touches of greenery - in the form of dried herbs or small plotted plants - and, importantly, a display of pots, pans, enamelware and table linen.

Project of the week: Country kitchen with an arch and a concrete wall
The owners of this house once took a desperate step: they sold their apartment and bought three hectares of forest outside the city without electricity and gas. They invented and built their own house, in an atypical manner for the Moscow region - with round windows, a shed roof and solar panels. There were not enough ideas for the interior, so the owners sent an application for participation in the TV project. Architect Aleksey Aladashvili helped them equip the kitchen-living room and even came up with his own style for this interior - pop loft.
ADESIGN
On the project
place: Moscow region
Size: sq.m
Who lives here: Family with children
Project author: Alexey Aladashvili
History: Kitchen-Life-Life as part of a TV project on renovation
Photo: Mikhail Chekalov
ADesign
Despite the large glazing area, the light in the kitchen had to be turned on even during the day, the room obviously needed better insolation. Architect Aleksey Aladashvili instead of a round window in the kitchen-living room made a large glazed arch to the floor. This constructive step solved three problems at once. First, there is more light in the room; secondly, there was a connection between the interior and exterior; thirdly, through the arch it is convenient to watch how children play outside. In addition, graphic accents appeared in the interior due to black-brown frames.
Evgenia Nazarova
Project layout
The boundaries of the premises were not changed, and the functional areas were arranged in a simple and logical order. The main zoning element is a large table, which can also serve as an additional work surface. The kitchen and the living room were smashed to different sides of the room: on one side of the table there was a linear mustard-colored set in black edging, on the other - a modular sofa with a fireplace area.
ADesign
Greenline engineering board; stucco Decovision
During their life in nature, the owners missed urban motifs and asked to add elements of high-tech style to the project. In order to match their request with the forest environment, Aleksey Aladashvili combined natural and technological materials with loft elements in the decoration.
The engineering plank was laid out in a French “Christmas tree” pattern, and decorative concrete-like plaster was applied to the walls. The coating reliably imitates concrete slabs thanks to a fake pattern: the joints of the “slabs” and the mounting holes were drawn by hand.
ADesign
The kitchen is enclosed in a dark, matt volume of large-format ceramic tiles. Their dimensions are one meter by three, so that when facing, it was possible to do almost without seams. The kitchen apron was made from the same material. A bright kitchen is effectively combined with a dark apron and work surface. The facades are made of glass glued on a chipboard base. Glossy facades expand the boundaries of the kitchen and almost do not get dirty: the handles are made in the form of grips, so you do not have to touch the glass surface.
ADesign
Laminam ceramic tiles; kitchen doors; Donolux chandelier and track lights; table MKRO; chairs "Albera"
The dining table looks solid and massive - you can seat both family and guests at it. At the same time, the piece of furniture does not visually press, almost merges with the floor in color and “dissolves” in the interior. The silhouette of the arch window supports the original suspension in the dining area.
ADesign
The original project already had a fireplace, but it was decided to replace it with a more practical and modern model. The wall above the fireplace and the facades of cabinets under it were lined with juniper saw cuts. This eco-friendly material not only looks spectacular in the interior, but also gives an amazing smell. Even if cracks appear on the saw cuts under the influence of high temperatures, they will only decorate the tree.
A polished mantel made from solid limestone.
ADesign
Jamni sofa; coffee tables Designboom
Instead of a TV in the living room, a projector and a screen were provided (it is hidden in the ceiling). A bright art object was placed above the sofa - the poster was painted in Photoshop by Alexei Aladashvili. The drawing was then printed with latex ink on bleached canvas with a side of 120 cm.0035

Provence Style - Furniture Liga
The Provence style appeared in France around the 17th century, when the bourgeoisie began to equip their country houses with the elegance and luxury inherent in that time, but without the abundance of gilding and marble characteristic of royal palaces. This difference and the formation of style can be traced very precisely, for example, in the film Marie Antoinette directed by Sofia Coppola and starring Kirsten Dunst. The moment when a young queen, after the birth of a child, moves from Versailles to a calm, quiet country estate away from the bustle and gossip of the court and begins to equip the house to her liking with refined grace, but at the same time with the calm simplicity and peace of village life.
The Provence style is imbued with the rustic idyll of the south of France, the intoxicating smell of endless flower fields and the light sea breeze from the Cote d'Azur. The abundance of sun, open verandas, elegant wooden furniture and a pleasant feeling of warm summer.
It is worth saying that initially the Provence style was intended and formed specifically for country houses, where it looks most organic among the flower fields, fresh air and birdsong in the morning. But this does not mean at all that this style cannot be used for city apartments. It was the desire to bring a touch of the calm rural charm of the south of France, the measured and serene country houses of the Cote d'Azur into urban life that led to such a popularization of the style in the urban environment.
By the way, the Provence style can often be found in the interiors of photo studios, offering you to plunge into this atmosphere and make a photo session in the serene style of the French province.
Distinctive features of the Provence style can be considered:
- Refined carved furniture with beautiful curved legs and small carved decor, often lightly whitewashed or painted in pastel colors.
- Antique furniture or furniture with the effect of artificial aging, giving a special flavor and charm, aesthetics and some history to the place where it is installed.
- Pastel light colors in the interior. White, beige, pale purple, sky blue, soft pink, violet, etc. Such a color palette creates an atmosphere of comfort and tranquility, and also visually gives the room volume and openness.
- Plenty of natural sunlight indoors. Just imagine how you wake up in the morning in a country house, go down to the living room combined with the kitchen, open the curtains, open the doors and windows, and summer bursts into your house with a wave of floral aroma and sunlight, and your hair is slightly fluttering under a warm breeze that barely reaches you. discernible subtle scents of the Mediterranean. This is Provence.
- Fresh flowers in the interior. It is difficult to imagine without France without flowers, without endless flower meadows, as if descended from Monet's paintings. Flowers give the house an atmosphere of country life, rural summer, warmth and comfort, serenity and pleasant tranquility.
- A French-style fireplace with elegant carved elements, or a neat tiled stove, which can often be found in the old fund of St. Petersburg, will also fit perfectly into a Provence-style interior.
- Upholstered furniture, as a rule, should be really very soft and in style resemble palace furniture from the time of Louis XVI or at least Napoleon. Sofas, ottomans and armchairs with beautiful banners will be appropriate. But the beds for the bedroom can be with high iron backs, of course with a beautiful elegant weave of metal.
- Wicker and solid wood furniture. Wicker rattan furniture and solid wood furniture are also quite appropriate. This is environmentally friendly and gives the atmosphere of the room more rustic charm and comfort.
- Floral ornament is also very popular and organic in Provence style. It is often used in furniture upholstery, curtains or wallpaper.
- Decor. As a decor, in addition to fresh flowers, beautiful antique candlesticks, antique busts or small figurines made of marble or plaster, decorative birdcages, mirrors in beautiful carved frames, soft carpets (with pastel floral patterns) and small paintings in wooden frames, mostly with landscapes, will be appropriate.
- Lighting. In addition to natural lighting, which we have already mentioned, it is worth saying a few words about chandeliers, floor lamps and sconces. For the Provence style, you can choose the most luxurious chandeliers with all kinds of patterns, weaving and gilding. But for the bedroom, more modest lamps with fabric or paper lampshades in light colors or with floral patterns are more suitable. And by the way, candles look very organic in the interior of Provence ...
Summing up the Provence style, we can say with confidence that romantic natures will be delighted. This style inspires creativity and the joy of life.
And by the way, it is not necessary to renovate the entire apartment in the Provence style (although stylistically, of course, this is more correct), you can use the romantic style of the French Riviera exclusively for the bedroom or kitchen. The Provence style is perfect for a bedroom, both for adults, who can appreciate all the delights of a bed with high metal backs, and for a young princess’s children’s room, for whom it is difficult to imagine a more suitable style, because even historically, the real Queen of France took part in the formation of this style .
