As they use a low heat, slow cookers use very little electricity in comparison to your oven – especially important during the cost of living crisis. In fact, kitchenware brand Crock-Pot found cooking a stew in a slow cooker uses around 1500 watts vs a conventional oven which would typically use twice that, to make the same meal.

What about multi-cooker deals?

If you’re looking to get rid of several kitchen appliances and replace them with one do-it-all machine, you’ll be interested in multi-cookers. These versatile countertop cookers can slow cook, pressure cook, grill, bake, steam, sear and sauté. The top brands to look out for include the likes of Crock-Pot, Ninja and Instant Pot, and we have already seen plenty of 25% or more reductions for these models in the early Black Friday deals for 2022.

When is Black Friday?

The Black Friday sale 2022 will start on Friday 25 November and continue through to Monday 28 November. Saying that, some retailers usually start dropping prices earlier in the month. In 2021, John Lewis launched its deals a week before the Black Friday weekend and Amazon usually offers some early deals for its Prime subscribers.

What else can I get in the Black Friday sales 2022?

No retailers have revealed their Black Friday discounts yet. In past years, we’ve seen reductions on a wide range of home essentials, including vacuum cleaners, steam cleaners and steam irons.

In 2021, the Dyson V11 cordless vacuum cleaner, the best stick vac from the GHI's tests was down to £439 from £599 at Currys, Very and Argos – an impressive £160 saving. The Vax Blade 4 cordless vacuum cleaner was 39% off, reduced to £159 from £259.

We saw plenty of great steam cleaner deals last year. The Polti Vaporetto Steam Mop, the GHI's runner-up steam cleaner and best steam mop, was down to £99.99 from £74.99. The Hoover 2in1 Steam Mop – our best steam cleaner for ovens – was £84.99 from £119.99.

Some of the best steam iron deals we spotted included a huge 44% reduction on the Tefal Ultimate Steam Generator, down to £249. 99 from £449.99. This Russell Hobbs number, the GHI's favourite lightweight steam iron, was reduced to £32.99 from £59.99.
