Why do you need a slow cooker?

There are a number of benefits to using a slow cooker, with one of the main plus points being that it's super convenient. They help you create amazing dinners with minimal prep and no need to hang over the hob for hours. They work by cooking at a steady and controlled temperature, and the lid locks in the moisture to produce soft and tender results.

When you cook things for a long time at a low temperature, you bring out the flavour in food too. This type of cooking also helps to tenderise meat, so you can get more out of less expensive cuts.

As they use a low heat, slow cookers use very little electricity in comparison to your oven – especially important during the cost of living crisis. In fact, kitchenware brand Crock-Pot found cooking a stew in a slow cooker uses around 1500 watts vs a conventional oven which would typically use twice that, to make the same meal.

          What about multi-cooker deals?

If you’re looking to get rid of several kitchen appliances and replace them with one do-it-all machine, you’ll be interested in multi-cookers. These versatile countertop cookers can slow cook, pressure cook, grill, bake, steam, sear and sauté. The top brands to look out for include the likes of Crock-Pot, Ninja and Instant Pot, and we have already seen plenty of 25% or more reductions for these models in the early Black Friday deals for 2022.

          Best slow cookers

when it will be, date of the event, participants of the action

You don't need to be an avid shopaholic to know that November is the best time for shopping. At the end of autumn, Black Friday takes place all over the world - a promotion when stores arrange a sale and offer their goods at the lowest prices.

Black Friday in Russia in 2023 will last three days and cover both retail and online stores. Those who like to save money will be able to purchase everything they need - from groceries to real estate - with decent discounts. nine0003

What date is Black Friday in Russia in 2023

The Black Friday promotion in Russia in 2023 will last three days.

          Start : November 23, 2023 at 00:00 Moscow time.
End of : November 26, 2023 at 23:59 Moscow time.

It happens that retailers announce a promotion on other dates - some earlier, some later. Therefore, when planning purchases, study the conditions in the store you are interested in in advance.

Some retailers refer to any of their sales as "Black Friday" sales, taking advantage of brand awareness. This is not prohibited by law, but they have nothing to do with the international Black Friday. Therefore, if you want to choose goods at a discount among a large number of stores, be guided by generally accepted dates. nine0003

Black Friday 2023: Where to Get the Biggest Discounts

Black Friday discounts are available from both offline stores and online retailers. In the first case, you yourself will have to go to the mall, hunting for the right product. In the second, it is easier to use aggregator sites, where all the offers of online stores are collected on one site.

This is just a part of Black Friday partners. The full list is on the website blackfridaysale.ru

          History of "Black Friday"

Black Friday was invented, as expected, in the country of prosperous capitalism - in the USA. Pre-Christmas sales were held there back in the 19th century, but in their modern form they took shape much later - in the middle of the 20th century. Black Friday in the United States falls on the day after Thanksgiving and opens the Christmas sales season.

There are two versions of the origin of the share name.

The first says that the term "Black Friday" originated in Philadelphia, where residents were unhappy with the accumulation of cars outside the stores, arranging sales. The streets became literally "black" and hopeless due to such traffic jams. nine0003

The second version has a more positive meaning and refers to the idiom "in the black", which means "positive balance", that is, high profit.

The fashion for "Black Friday" came to Russia in the 2010s, in the early years the action was held on other dates. However, soon the sellers in our country synchronized with the rest of the world, and Black Friday in Russia in 2023 will be held simultaneously with other countries - at the end of November.

          Useful tips

To save your nerves and money during the general sale fever, without spending your entire salary on unnecessary, but cheap things, use our tips. nine0003

          1. Make a list

Everyone knows the rule: if you don't want to buy too much in a store, come to it with a shopping list. This tip applies to sales as well, because it's so easy to lose your head surrounded by "up to 90% off" signs. A list of what you plan to buy will become an anchor in a sea of shopping hype and help you stop in time and not buy what you really do not need.

          2. Get Ready

Planning your shopping months in advance is a great help during the November sale. At the end of summer and beginning of autumn, make your wish list of goods that you would like to buy on Black Friday, and return to it from time to time to track price fluctuations. So you can easily notice if the seller artificially inflates the price on the eve of the stock. Various programs and applications for a computer or phone will help in this matter, which will track the cost of selected goods for you. nine0003

          3. Check delivery terms

If you prefer to shop online, check out how the store delivers in advance. Each online retailer sets its own rules for free and paid shipping. Be sure to check this point before paying so that it doesn't cost you more to receive the product than to buy it.

          4. Be careful

Shopping is a gamble, it's easy to get carried away and lose your vigilance. However, no matter how much you are in a hurry to the checkout, stop to see if you have taken a defective product. Inspect it from all sides, check whether it turns on or not, look at the expiration dates. Some dishonest sellers take advantage of sales to sell stale or low-quality goods. nine0003

          5. Use cards with cashback

          Photo: Bulkin Sergey, globallookpress.com

If you know for sure that you will spend a lot of money on the sale, do not be too lazy to get a debit or credit card with cashback. Paying for purchases from it, you will receive a percentage of the money spent back. How much depends on the conditions of the bank where you took the card.

          6. Buy at the beginning of the promotion

"Black Friday" causes increased excitement among buyers, and the most interesting products are often sold out in the first hours after the start of the promotion. Therefore, try not to postpone shopping until the last day of the sale - there is a high probability that by that time there will be nothing to buy. nine0003

          7. Didn't have time? Do not be upset

Even if the product you need was taken right from under your nose, you should not be upset ahead of time and take it at full price. There is a whole season of sales ahead: New Year's, Christmas, winter, as well as the January promotion "Cyber Monday" - an online analogue of "Black Friday".

In addition, you can always use our promotional codes. Special for Black Friday:

Black Friday - November 24th. The history and features of the holiday in the project Holiday Calendar 2023

Black Friday is a day of huge discounts and sales (Photo: © rach37 / Photogenica Photobank)

Every year on the first Friday after American Thanksgiving (usually the last week of November), the famous starts Black Friday (Black Friday) is a day that does not live up to its gloomy name. After all, Black Friday is one of the brightest and most unforgettable Fridays of the year, it is a day of huge discounts and sales, it is the main holiday for all shopaholics and a great solution for those who want to save money. nine0003

It is from Black Friday that the traditional Christmas sales season begins in Western countries, when you can buy a wide variety of goods at very competitive prices, because the size of discounts ranges from 30 to 90% depending on the product groups.

The tradition of this unbridled shopping originated in America in the 19th century, when the largest retail chains began to arrange grandiose pre-Christmas sales, stimulating customers to purchase with incredible discounts, bonuses, special gifts, etc. And the term "Black Friday" itself appeared only in 19'66 in Philadelphia.

There are two generally accepted versions about the origin of the name. According to one, the day was so called because of the huge traffic jams that formed the day after Thanksgiving. According to another, the name Black Friday came about due to the way accounting records were kept on this day. Losses were written in red ink, and profits were written in black, and since the revenue that day was huge, black color prevailed in the reporting.

One way or another, this tradition of grand sales became such a success that it quickly spread to other countries. It is on this day that hundreds of millions of people around the world sweep even the most stale goods off the shelves, bringing sellers monthly profits. Today Black Friday is a popular international trend. But it is in America that this day is awaited with special impatience. On the eve, even before midnight, there is nowhere for an apple to fall in shopping centers and stores in American cities - prudent buyers queue in advance, and some even spend the night at the entrance to the stores. After all, the first buyers are waiting for serious discounts (from 50 to 80%). In addition, on Black Friday, many stores open very early - around 5 am, and some of the largest retail chains - even at midnight. nine0003

Although this day is not a public holiday, many Americans take the day off, of course, with the exception of retail employees. And stores and retail chains are doing everything to attract customers.

It would seem that such a "generous" policy should bring a loss to the representatives of trade. However, a large flow of buyers fully compensates for low prices, besides, Christmas is coming, and the purchase of goods becomes simply a “necessity” for people. Thus, stores “kill” three birds with one stone in one day: they attract a large flow of customers, ensure the rapid movement of goods and make good profits. By the way, do not think that only discounted or unpopular goods participate in the sale. Since the seller, in any case, remains the winner, therefore, discounts apply to the best products in the range. In addition, traditionally, manufacturers of appliances and household goods time the release of a new product line to this period. So they not only stimulate demand, but also advertise a new product. nine0003

Another important distinguishing feature of Black Friday is that it is considered bad form to return goods purchased on this day to the store (for any reason). Therefore, the percentage of return of purchases is small, which is also in the hands of sellers. But the buyer also wins, because many people plan their purchases in advance and purchase them on Black Friday with great profit. And almost all categories of goods fall under discounts on this day, from food to household appliances. Electronics, clothing and toys traditionally remain the most popular. nine0003

Although on TV every year we see huge crowds of people storming stores in the USA on Black Friday and sweeping everything from the shelves - from socks to huge plasma panels, when there is no time for looking and thinking and sometimes not without injury, but the popularity of this event doesn't get smaller. And in general, the "holiday of true shopaholics" brings real satisfaction to all its participants. According to statistics, on Black Friday, an American family can save on average from a few hundred to thousands of dollars. Every year they leave $60 billion in stores, which is comparable to the annual budget of a small country. nine0003

It should also be said that Black Friday is celebrated differently in Europe. Yes, the tradition of making discounts on the eve of Christmas is preserved, but everything happens more decorously and nobly. In many European countries, the honesty of discounts at retail outlets is controlled by the state, and online stores do not lag behind their “real” counterparts. Recently, more and more Europeans are shopping these days without leaving their homes.

Black Friday has been held in Russia since 2013. But, unlike a similar event in the US, discounted goods in Russia are sold mainly via the Internet. But the assortment does not suffer from this, you can buy at a discount: electronics and household appliances, sports equipment and books, clothes and shoes, accessories and goods for children, toys and gifts, interior items and textiles, optics and floristry, jewelry and pet supplies .
