The town is quiet, with no heavy traffic noises at night. My husband grew up here and his grandfather helped build this town up, so we have a lot of history in this town. The thing I would improve about this town is to add drainage in the streets to help avoid flooding. I would also like them to add sidewalks for the safety of kids and dogs walking and playing. There is a really good mini store here, with a very friendly owner. He holds events during holidays for all residents. The VFW has plenty of entertainment including Bingo and Sunday breakfast. We also have a lovely peaceful park a couple miles down the road from us with a beautiful lake to kayak, swim or fish in. The cost of living is a steal considering there's a river to go boating on right downtown, and we're a half hour from one of the best beaches in the world. In my opinion this is the place to be because we are just close enough to downtown Pensacola that we can get to things without too much hassle, but just far enough from the activity that hurricanes (thus far) tend to spare us the brunt of direct hits...did I mention housing is affordable :)... It's either a hit or miss... I have learned so much from this school so far, the resources are outstanding: HUGE University library (4 floors), media center to record projects and be with friends, teachers are kind enough to give extra help hours and help you through whatever. Campus is a large size foe high school and we have a 20-min break daily, (I would be super stressed without it) and a good 45 min lunch. HOWEVER, keep in mind this is a very creative project-based school, you will likely be assigned lots of projects with reasonable due dates.
